Abstract

Ampal Catchment Area has 25.273 km2 area and 4.699 km main river length, which planned to have 13 flood control construction. Until 2017, this catchment area has only three flood control construction. The watershed has only three built-in batters that are used to reduce the amount of flood discharge flowing on the Ampal river. Based on these conditions, it is necessary to analyze the magnitude of the difference of flood peak discharge on the existing condition (three bendali) compared with the condition of the plan (thirteen bendali). Therefore, analyzed the function and influence of flood control construction in Ampal Catchment Area by counting the flood peak discharge in each condition. From the analysis result, obtained the amount of peak discharge flowing in Ampal river existing condition is equal to 170,40 m3/s while at the condition of plan is equal to 83,80 m3/s. From the results of analysis, it is stated that the magnitude of the decrease of debit (ΔQ) after all the builds is 86.60 m3/s.

Abstract

One that can be used as an organic inhibitor is bawang tiwai leaves extract. This study used 3.5% NaCl as corrosive media with inhibitor concentration of bawang tiwai leaves extract from 0 ppm to 500 ppm and immersion time from 10 days up to 30 days. The efficiency of inhibition was measured using a weight loss corrosion test, while the corrosion rate was obtained from polarization measurements. The FTIR test results show that the extract contains flavonoid compounds that act as antioxidants and inhibit corrosion. Inhibitory efficiency achieved up to 95.4545% for the addition of 300 ppm inhibitor and 20 days of immersion time. This inhibitory behavior is also supported by polarization measurements where the lowest corrosion rate of 0.00128 mm/year is obtained at the same concentration and immersion time.

Abstract

Fabrication of rami fiber based on composite with epoxy matrixs and polymer blend of ABS-PP for alternative prosthetic soket application have been conducted. This research attemp to analyze impact resistance of rami-epoxy based on composite and polymer blend base ABS-PP. Those sample was made by hand lay up and simple hot casting methode at a temperature of 250 oC. rami-epoxy based on composite and polymer blend samples with volume fraction variation 0%, 25%, 50% and 75%. The result of charpy impact test showed an increase in impact energy along with an increase in the volume fraction of rami. In other hand, an increase in ABS volume fraction could reduce the impact energy of polymer blend samples. From impact testing result, both samples showed brittle like-structure. Broken Fiber with low fiber pull out mechanism was found out in rami-epoxy composite samples. Polymer blend samples showed pull out mechanism on ABS grain.

Abstract

Abstract. Public transport facilities are fundamental needs as population growth and society mobility increases. Nowadays, Balikpapan is one of the cities growing quite rapidly, including the level of society mobility. If it is not anticipated, this could lead Balikpapan becomes a crowded city such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung and others. One of public transportation in Balikpapan is angkot which has capacity only about 10 passengers. Others are taxi and online transportation such as Gojek, Go-Car, and Grab. These are not yet the appropriate solution for public transportation services for all levels of society. Thus, it needs to be developed the integrated mass public transportation system in Balikpapan and become an alternative solution to the problems. One of the public demands in using public transportation service is passengers can reach any location from anywhere (strongly connected). Therefore, it is necessary to design the route of mass public transport system such as city busway. In this paper it is called Trans Balikpapan Busway. In this paper, we use graph concept to design Trans Balikpapan Busway route. The result is the design of Transbalikpapan Busway route. It is ilustrated by a directed graph. The matrix that represents the graph has unique eigen value, so that the graph is strongly connected. It connects all districts in Balikpapan with places that people ussually visit such as schools/campuses, shops, malls, hospitals, terminals, air port, harbour, institutions, companies, recreation destinations, etc. Abstrak. Fasilitas transportasi umum merupakan kebutuhan vital seiring pertumbuhan penduduk dan mobilitas masyarakat meningkat. Saat ini, Balikpapan adalah salah satu kota yang berkembang cukup pesat, termasuk tingkat mobilitas masyarakat. Jika tidak diantisipasi, ini dapat menyebabkan Balikpapan menjadi kota yang padat seperti Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung dan lain-lain. Salah satu angkutan umum di Balikpapan adalah angkutan kota yang kapasitasnya hanya sekitar 10 penumpang. Angkutan umum lainnya adalah taksi argo dan transportasi online seperti Gojek, Go-Car, dan Grab. Itu pun belum menjadi solusi yang tepat untuk layanan transportasi umum bagi semua lapisan masyakat. Dengan demikian, perlu dikembangkan sistem transportasi umum massal terpadu di Balikpapan dan menjadi solusi alternatif untuk masalah tersebut. Salah satu tuntutan masyarakat dalam menggunakan layanan angkutan umum adalah penumpang dapat mencapai suatu lokasi dari mana saja (strongly connected). Oleh karena itu, perlu dirancang rute sistem transportasi umum massal seperti moda bus kota. Dalam hal ini dinamakan Trans Balikpapan Busway. Dalam paper ini, digunakan konsep graf untuk merancang rute Trans Balikpapan Busway. Hasil penelitian ini adalah desain rute Transbalikpapan Busway. Jaringan Transbalikpapan Busway diilustrasikan dalam graf berarah. Matriks yang mewakili graf tersebut memiliki nilai eigen yang tunggal/unik, sehingga dapat disimpulkan graf tersebut strongly connected. Jaringan Transbalikpapan Busway menghubungkan semua kecamatan di Balikpapan beserta tempat-tempat yang biasa dikunjungi oleh masyarakat seperti sekolah/kampus, pasar, mall, rumah sakit, terminal, bandara, pelabuhan, instansi, perusahaan, tujuan rekreasi dan lain-lain.

Abstract

Bulk Metallic Glass (BMG) memiliki sifat mekanik, magnetik, kimia dan fisik yang berbeda dengan paduan polikristalin karena susunan internal atomnya yang tidak teratur. Sehingga, BMG memiliki kekuatan mekanik yang baik, kekerasan yang tinggi, ketahanan terhadap aus dan korosi yang tinggi, dan kehalusan permukaan yang baik. Berdasarkan sifat tersebut, BMG memiliki kelayakan yang menjanjikan di bidang industry. Dalam penelitian ini, metode pengecoran cetakan di tembaga digunakan untuk menyiapkan BMG paduan Cu45Zr45Al5Ag5. Paduan dileburkan ulang dengan pendinginan super cepat menggunakan mesin pendingin di bawah temperatur -25 oC. Dengan metode pengecoran cetakan di tembaga, sampel ukuran besar berbentuk batang dipotong dengan diameter 2 mm hingga 4 mm dan panjang 30 mm. Batang kemudian dipotong lagi menjadi spesimen berbentuk cakram. Untuk memastikan apakah sampel adalah BMG atau tidak, sampel dievaluasi dengan Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersion Spectrometer (EDS), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Electron Probe X-ray Micro Analyzer (EPMA), dan X -ray Difraction (XRD). Hasilnya dibahas dalam penelitian ini. Kata Kunci: Bulk Metallic Glasses, Cu45Zr45Al5Ag5, Pengecoran Cetakan di Tembaga.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini menyajikan perancangan dan analisis sebuah sensor arus yang terdiri dari rangkaian penyearah gelombang penuh dengan filter kapasitor, pembagi tegangan, buffer, dan penguat diferensial. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengukur nilai arus pada sensor adalah dengan menetapkan salah satu resistor pada rangkaian pembagi tegangan sebagai resistor referensi (Rs). Metode ini didasarkan pada hukum Ohm dalam menentukan nilai arus yang melalui suatu jalur. Hasil percobaan yang dilakukan telah membuktikan teori yang disajikan. Kata Kunci: metode resistif, pengukuran arus, rangkaian sensor arus.

Abstract

Coal is one of the energy sources that widely used for electricity, the age of coal reserves only remain 56 years, so it is necessary to make a study to reduce the consumption rate of coal with make an improvement on boiler efficiency which use tangentially fired boiler because it has good combustion. There are a problem in this type of boiler such as unbalance temperature and temperature deviation in superheaters and reheaters of the boiler. This research is made to study the effect of yaw angle modification to temperature in boiler. Method that used in this research is Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD). Coal yaw angle modification in this research are +5º, 0º, -5º, -10º, dan -15º. Coal yaw angle modification have an effect to temperature distribution, wider yaw angle then larger the temperature deviation. The best coal yaw angle configuration is at -5º because it has the least temperature deviation on the upper furnace which minimize the risk of overheat on superheaters and reheaters. Abstract

The Klandasan Parking Building (GPK) is an 8-story parking built in Balikpapan that serves as vehicle parking and uses a conventional structure system (columns, beams, plates) where the highest beam is about 800 mm. To maximize the clearance of each story, an alternative structure system is planned by removing beams called flat slabs. The new plan is conducted by modifying the structure into a dual system which consists of an Intermediate Moment Resisting Frame, a flat plate with drop panels used to withstand gravitational loads on buildings and a Structural Wall System (SWS) installed to resist lateral loads such as earthquake and wind. Structure’s plan refers to SNI 03-2847-2013 and SNI 03-1726-2012 which are Indonesia’s concrete and earthquake codes respectively. In addition, PPURG 1987 is also used to determine loads for the building. The analysis result shows that the building could be changed from 8 to 9 stories using the same total height of 8 stories. The depth of plates and drop panels which are supported by interior and exterior columns are 250 mm and 100 mm respectively. Turning to the shear wall, a thickness of 350 mm can be used to resist lateral loads.

Abstract

As a petroleum-producing country, Indonesia has a very important role in supplying national and international petroleum needs. The distribution of oil by sea raises the risk of spills and harms the marine environment, especially for marine life. Most oil spills in the marine environment can form a thin layer on the surface due to the movement of wind, waves, and currents. In this study, the oil spill movement model used the Shallow Water Equation (SWE) model and the equation for the movement of oil spills. The SWE model consists of the equation of mass and momentum derived from the law of conservation of mass which is derived into the equation of continuity and the law of conservation of momentum which is derived into the equation of conservation of momentum. In this model, ocean currents are affected by several disturbances in the form of wind gusts and friction with the bottom. The model is solved numerically through simulation using the finite volume method. Discretization is done by using a staggered grid approach, where the mass and momentum variables are discretized in different cells. From the simulation results, it appears that the movement of oil spills is influenced by wind direction and current. The simulation results also found that the speed of the movement of oil spills has increased in the early times, but then gradually.

Abstract

The Increased industrial subsector in Indonesia each year have some negative impact on health in Indonesia. Exhaust emissions of industrial activities is one of the sources of air pollution that occurs continuously. Exhaust gas quality monitoring needs to be done regularly to control the level of air pollution as required under KepMenLH 13/1995. During the determination of the opacity of the black smoke chimney industry performed manually using Ringlemann. Results opasitasbergantung on the observer on the ground so that the level of accuracy obtained is still less opacity akurat. Paper is about the development of imaging technology for monitoring parameters of black smoke in the exhaust stack opacity industri.Metode measurement used in this monitoring is a method Ringlemann. Segmentation algorithm used in this research is using thresholding. The result of the automatic segmentation using thresholding sample data has a high degree of accuracy, but still dependent on weather conditions. If you do smoke segmentation when the sky is clear, the level of accuracy of the segmentation is very high, but it is different when overcast or cloudy weather conditions. Results from this study is the obtainment function to be able to determine the level of black smoke opacity parameter. Searches made through a logarithmic function. Determination of the proper function is determined by looking at the highest value of Rଶ. Different sky conditions lead to different functions, so the algorithm functions to determine the parameters of black smoke opacity made in some circumstances under the conditions of the sky.
