Abstract

Oil palm plants are a type of plant that undergoes pollination through the mediation of polinator agents because of the position of male flowers and female flowers in separate flowers. Elaeidobius kamerunicus is an effective type of pollinating insect in oil palm plants. This research was conducted at this research carried out on oil palm plantations of PT. Karya Tanah Subur (KTS) of West Aceh Regency. This research was conducted from February to March 2018. The collection of insect samples using the Purpose Sample method (sample determined), which uses 4 blocks of plants with different age groups of 4,5,6 and 7 years, respectively. Each age group on each block uses 6 sample plants. The results show the abundance of pollinator insects not influenced by plant age and altitude, but are influenced by the time of sampling. Domination index of palm oil pollinator insect simpons at PT. Karya Tanah Subur (KTS) is worth 0.9280 which means high evenness. The abundance of oil palm pollinators affects the average production of oil palm at PT. Karya Tanah Subur (KTS) Keywords: oil palm, Elaeidobius kamerunicus, pollinator

Abstract

Tea productivity influenced by technical culture, soil, climate conditions and planting material. Nursery is an initial stage of cultivation. The purpose of the nursery is to prepare quality planting material for rejuvenation and new plantings. To get quality seedling, needs good media and able to support early growth. Utilizing the waste from the tea processing plant in the form of tea leaves that are not eligible if to be fermented into organic fertilizer is then applied to the seedling tea. The results showed that seedling growth trend is increasing, the higher the plant the more the number of leaves that are formed and there is a positive linear relationship between plant height and number of leaves and leaf greenness. The results of the soil analysis showed that the availability of nutrients organic C, N, K and C/N ratio with moderate status, while the P content is very high.Keywords: organic matter, tea nursery, tea ocsidation

Abstract

Aceh Province has many local varieties that are still cultivated by farmers, especially in the South-West Region of Aceh, the local rice needs to be identified and used as a source of genes in the assembly of new improved varieties to support food security and sustainable agriculture. Bacterial leaf blight (HDB) is one of the limiting factors in rice production. HDB disease is caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo), which can reduce rice yield by 30-40%. However, the potential of these varieties as sources of resistance genes against HDB has not been evaluated. This study aims to determine and obtain the potential genotypes of local rice in the West-South Region of Aceh that are resistant to Bacterial Leaves Disease. The research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Teuku Umar University, Meulaboh, West Aceh from January to completion. The research was carried out starting from the treatment and seeding, preparation of planting media, planting, observation variables: Plant height and number of tillers per age 60 HST, incubation period and length of the observed lesio: 21 HSI: Test results of potential local rice resistance in the West- South Aceh obtained 9 genotypes that are resistant to bacterial leaf blight. Abstract

Food security is the principal problem in most countries in the world. One of the efforts to build food security of families through land use lawns that are beneficial in supporting the family in addition to nutritional needs at once to beauty (aesthetics) when optimally managed and planned. Land can be developed as an area of the Kawasan Rumah Pangan Lestari (KRPL). This activity is conducted in Gampong Ujong Tanoh darat and Gampong Pasi Aceh Baroh Sub-district Meureubo, Aceh Barat. The selection of the location based on the consideration that location most of the inhabitants are farmers. The second reason is expected to give direct benefits of the existence of the Agriculture Faculty Of Teuku Umar University in the middle of the community. The third reason is to expect the gampong can become Small-scale Agriculture Faculty Of Teuku Umar University. The outer achievedare KRPL product andnursery. The outer of services are the achievement of self-reliance and material management of the farming community. The implementation of the activities carried out have been completed, KRPL vertikultur model, nursery, outreach to the community, and technical guidance to the community gampong. The success rate of the program was can be known the desire ofcommunity especially the housewife, prevail in their house by making use of the potential of the existing yards, though not exactly the same as the model that is applied. Keyword: Food Security, KRPL, Land, Vertikultur

Abstract

Peanuts (Arachis hypogaea L) are one of staple food after rice. In industry, peanuts used as material for made the cheese,butter, soap and cooking oil. For optimal growth of peanuts need the optimal condition, growing media are one of external factors who influence the growth of peanuts seed. This research was aimed to determine the various growing media on germination of peanut seeds. This research was implemented at UPTD BPSB Provinsi Aceh laboratory. Thisexperiment was conducted in a completely randomized design (CRD) with the sand media, cocopeat, husk media, husk charchoal, and sand malang as factors. The result showed that the growing media treatment affected the growth of germination peanut seeds. Cocopeat media was showed the better result of germination percentage and vigour index compared other treatment. The avarage of germination percentage and vigour index were 96% and 67,5%. Husk media showed the lower result based on the observed variables. Keyword : Peanuts, Growing Media, Germination

Abstract

Red Ginger (Zingiber officinale var. Rubrum) requested for the purposes of herbal medicine, industrial medicine and flavoring in both the domestic and export abroad. Development of ginger in wide scale with the optimal cultivation system so that its productivity increases can be made in intensifying planting materials by submersion use ZPT Atonik. This research aims to know the influence of concentration and long soaking in the ZPT Atonik against growth of Red ginger. This research was carried out at the experimental of Agriculture Facultyof Teuku UmarUniversity Aceh Barat. The material used is a local clone of Red ginger seeds from the village of Kuala Manyeu, Nagan Raya, ZPT Atonik, cow dung, manure polybags size 45x35 cm, pesticide Furadan and Dithane, as well as basic fertilizer (urea, KCl and SP-36). The experimental design used in this study was a randomized Design Group (RAK) factorial pattern 3 x 3 with 3 replicates. Factors examined are the concentration of ZPT Atonik consists of 3 levels i.e. without ZPT, 2 ml. l-1, and 4 ml. l-1 and long soaking consists of 3 levels, namely 10 minutes, 30 minutes and 50 seconds. The parameters observed were higher plants, the number of shoots per clump of leaves, the number and length of the leaf. Data analysis with her rangeand conducted further trials BNT on levels 5% if there is a noticeable influence. The results showed that there is no interaction between concentration and long soaking in the ZPT Atonik against all the parameters were observed. The best red ginger growth found on the concentration of ZPT Atonik 2 ml. l-1. The best red ginger growth is in long soaking treatment that is 10 minutes. Keywords: Red ginger, concentration, long soaking, ZPT Atonik.

Abstract

For study of moisture content and BET equation to the shelf life of cocoa has been conducted. Increasing the quality of cocoa beans is with proper post-harvest handling, including how the harvest, the level of ripeness, curing, fermenting, drying up storage. The purpose of this study was to determine the water content and the appropriate levels of critical in determining the shelf life of cocoa. The benefits of this research are asinformation for farmers in determining the shelf life of cocoa in order to design a storage area corresponding to the respiratory system owned by cocoa. The results showed that the effect of fermentation facilitator (Staphilococcus cerevisiae) and drying temperature on water content showed that the fermentation facilitator (Staphilococcus cerevisiae) highly significant effect on water content. The drying temperature is also highly significant effect on water content. BET equation obtained was Y = 2,912x + 1.238 (R 2= 0.965), Y = 2,897x + 1.353 (R2 = 0.968) and Y = 2,806x + 1.89 (R = 0.954). Keywords: BET quation, cocoa, shelf life, water content

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of amelioran ash of spadix palm to accessions the local rice as well as real whether the interaction of these two factors on the cultivation occurring in the peat. This research was compiled in a separate Swath Design Split plot with 2 and 4 treatment groups, consisting of 4 local rice accessions, namely: Pandrah, Boh Sirutoh, Pinlago and IR-36. Factors amelioran the ash of spedix palm consists of: A0, A1 = control = 15 ton ha-1 (3.38 kg plot-1). The results showed that the real effect of accession towards high plant age 30, age 45 HST and very real effect at age 60 HST, influential real accession number of saplings against age 60 HST, but has no effect on real at the age of 30and 45 HST. Accessions take effect against the number of saplings of real productive and very influential real against the weight of grain per plot. Pandrah accessions (V1) has the ability level of the rate of growth at a high level of crop, the amount of the child, the number of saplings of productive and heavy grain keringper plot. Treatment of the amelioran ash of spedix of palm on peat, was able to increase the growth of plants at high levels, the number of chicks, the number of saplings of productive but the effect is not real against the weight of dried grain per plot.Keywords: ameliorant, ash spadix palm, local rice, peat

Abstract

Melon plants is one of the selling price of horticultural commodities are relatively good and it was a lot of consumer demand. Therefore, the general market outlook for commodities is quite good, so the development deserves attention. As efforts to increase growth and yield of melon, needs to be done ballanced fertilization with NPK fertilizer. Mulching intended to preserve agricultural land by using organic materials, inorganic and remnants of harvest. This study aims to determine the effect of mulch type and dose of NPK fertilizer on growth and yield tangible melon and whether or not the advance of the second interaction of these factors. Research conducted at the Village Cot Kuta, District Likes Makmue Nagan Raya district, on September 25, 2014 to December 20, 2014. This study used a randomized block design (RAK) with a 3x3 factorial design, consisting of two factors: the type and dose of NPK fertilizer mulch. Factors types of mulch consists of three levels ie straw mulch, black plastic mulch silver and a bunch of mulch palm. Factor NPK fertilizer dose consists of three levels ie 40 grams per plant, 80 grams per plant and 120 grams per plant. The parameters analyzed include plant height, number of nodes, segment length, days to flowering, fruit number and fruit weight. The results showed that the growth and production of the best melon found in each factor silver black plastic mulch treatment and dosage of NPK fertilizer 80 grams per plant.Keywords: growth, melon, NPK, type of mulch

Abstract

The study was conducted in Abeuk Reuling village of Sawang subdistrict, North Aceh District. The aims of this study was to determined the response of NPK fertilizer, the type of ameliorants and the interaction between both treatment of the soil physic properties and the growth of paddy rice on new paddy field. The methods of this study based on a randomized block design factorial 4 x 4 and repeated 3 times, which consists of a dose of NPK and the type of ameliorants. The results showed that the interaction of dose of NPK fertilizer and type of ameliorants is highly siginificant effect on the soil physic properties that is bulk density, soil porosity dan aggregate stability index. While the single effect of dose of NPK fertilizer and type of ameliorants is highly siginificant effect on plant growth that is plant height at 30, 45, 90 days after planting and the number of tillers per hill. Keywords: ameliorant, new paddy field, NPK fertilizer, soil physic properties
