Abstract

Sumber daya hutan harus terjaga kelestariannya salah satunya adalah hutan lindung. Hutan lindung mempunyai fungsi mengatur tata air. Vegetasi tanaman pada hutan lindung sangat penting untuk mempertahankan fungsinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui komposisi vegetasi blok inti hutan lindung. Penelitian dilakukan pada blok inti hutan lindung register 21 Kesatuan Pengelolaan Hutan (KPH) XI Pesawaran pada bulan Agustus – Oktober 2017. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan menggunakan metode continuous sampling with random start dengan jumlah plot sebanyak 45 buah. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan Indeks Nilai Penting (INP). Hasil analisis menunjukkan terdapat 40 jenis tanaman yang terdiri atas 21 famili, didominasi oleh Theobroma cacao dengan INP sebesar 130%.

Abstract

The frequent drought in Indonesia has caused many farmers to experience a decline in vegetable production, one of which is green mustard. The green mustard is not resistant to drought, so water supply is an aspect that must be given special attention in cultivating green mustard. The objective of this study was to know whether the seedling and growth of seedling of green mustard (Brassica juncea L.) can grow well under drought stress by Polyethylene glycol 6000. This study was conducted in the Laboratory of Plant Physiology, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, the University of Lampung in 2019. This study was conducted in a Completely Randomized Design with the main factor is Polyethylene glycol 6000 with three levels: 0% w/v, 10% w/v, 20% w/v, and 30% w/v. Each combination of treatments was repeated five times. The number of the experimental unit was 20. The observed variables in this study were the percentage of seed germination, length of leaf, the width of leaf, a,b chlorophyll content, and total chlorophyll content. The data was homogenize using the Levene test, then continued to analyze using ANOVA at a 5% significant level and proceed with HSD test significant level 5% to determine the differences between the treatment. The result showed that under drought stress by Polyethylene glycol 6000 started to affect green mustard seedling and growth of seedling at the level of PEG 6000 concentration 20% w/v while the number of leaves not affected. The conclusion was PEG 6000 gave a negative impact on the green mustard and the green mustard induced by PEG 6000 10% w/v more adaptive than PEG 6000 20 w/v.

Abstract

Spiders are organisms that can adapt to various environments throughout the earth's surface from arctic regions to desert areas. Many spiders occupy areas with low vegetation and shrubs. The Liwa Botanical Garden has dense vegetation which is an ideal habitat for spiders. This study aims to determine the diversity and abundance of spiders (arachnids) in open and closed areas in the Liwa Botanical Garden. The research was conducted in November - December 2019. Spiders were sampled using a survey method by making line transects at predetermined locations. Sampling using sweep nets and pit traps. The spiders found were identified in the Zoology Laboratory, Biology Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Lampung, and their relative abundance was calculated. The results showed that 249 individual spiders were grouped into 9 families and 21 species. The family with the highest number of individuals was Aranidae, while the least number of families was Phalangiidae.

Abstract

Provinsi Lampung termasuk wilayah yang subur dan kaya akan keanekaragaman tumbuhan termasuk tumbuhan golongan phytotelmata. Phytotelmata adalah tumbuhan yang dapat menampung genangan air pada organ atau bagian tubuhnya, yang dimanfaatkan oleh berbagai organisme sebagai tempat berkembang biak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui diversitas phytotelmata di beberapa wilayah endemis Demam Berdarah Dengue di Provinsi Lampung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ditemukan 18 jenis phytotelmata yang termasuk ke dalam 14 famili tumbuhan meliputi Araceae, Arecaceae, Asparagaceae, Bromeliaceae, Costaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Gnetaceae, Malvaceae, Oxylidaceae, Musaceae, Oxylidaceae, Pandanaceae, Poaceae,Ruscaceae, dan Sapindaceae; ditemukan enam tipe phytotelmata yaitu: tipe kelopak daun (KD), lobang akar (LA), lobang pohon (LP), kelopak bunga (KB), lobang buah (LB) dan tunggul bambu (TG). Volume genangan air yang paling banyak ditemukan pada tipe lobang buah yaitu jenis Cocos nucifera (50-60 ml); tipe tunggul bambu yaitu pada jenis Bambusa sp.(80-95 ml).

Abstract

Rumput teki (C. rotundus) mengandung senyawa yang zat-zat aktif yang dapat mempengaruhi proses hormonal jika digunakan secara langsung sehingga dapat memberikan efek samping khususnya jika dikonsumsi oleh wanita hamil. Pada periode organogenesis, embrio sangat sensitif terhadap masuknya suatu zat ke dalam tubuhnya. Penelitian yang dilakukan pada 23 Desember 2015 hingga 22 Januari 2016 di Laboratorium Zoologi dan Laboratorium Kimia Organik FMIPA Universitas Lampung bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh teratogenik dari ekstrak rimpang rumput teki terhadap jumlah fetus, pertumbuhan panjang ekstremitas depan dan belakang, serta malformasi (kecacatan) fetus mencit (M. musculus L.) secara anatomi. Dua puluh mencit betina dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok. Ekstrak diberikan secara oral pada tiga kelompok perlakuan dengan dosis 45 mg/40 gBB (B); 90 mg/40 gBB (C); dan 135 mg/gBB (D), dalam 0,4 mL aquabides sedangkan satu kelompok tanpa ekstrak (A) sebagai kontrol. Perlakuan diberikan pada hari ke-6 samapai ke-13 kehamilan (periode organogenesis). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak rimpang rumput teki tidak mengurangi jumlah fetus yang dikandung namun menyebabkan kematian pada beberapa fetus. Selain itu, ekstrak rimpang rumput teki tidak menghambat pertumbuhan panjang ekstremitas depan fetus tetapi menghambat pertumbuhan panjang ekstremitas belakang fetus secara signifikan terhadap kontrol. Pemberian ekstrak rimpang rumput teki menyebabkan perbedaan panjang antara ukuran ekstremitas depan dan belakang kanan dibanding bagian kirinya serta menyebabkan malformasi fetus dan salah satu induk mencit mati akibat pemberian ekstrak.

Abstract

Rimpang teki (Cyperus rotundus L.) mengandung senyawa saponin, sineol, pinen, siperon, rotunol, siperenon, tanin, siperol, alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin, pati, glikosida dan furochromones, serta seskuiterpenoid. Dengan hadirnya senyawa ini diperlukan untuk menguji efek samping penggunaannya pada janin. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efek pemberian ekstrak rimpang rumput teki terhadap kelainan struktur histologi tunas anggota depan fetus mencit (Mus musculus L) yang diberikan pada masa prenatal. Dosis ekstrak rimpang rumput teki yaitu: 45 mg/40g BB dalam 0,4 ml aquabides (P2), 90 mg/40g BB dalam 0,4 ml aquabides (P3), 135 mg/40g BB dalam 0,4 ml aquabides (P4), dan 0,4 ml aquabides (K) sebagai kontrol. Parameter yang diamati mencakup zona cadangan kondrosit, zona proliferasi, zona maturasi, dan zona kartilago yang mengalami mineralisasi. Data dianalisis dengan analisis ragam dan diuji lanjut dengan uji beda nyata terkecil (BNT) pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan perlakuan dosis ekstrak rimpang rumput teki memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap penurunan ketebalan zona cadangan kondrosit, zona proliferasi, dan zona maturasi. Perlakuan dosis 135 mg/40g BB dalam 0,4 ml aquabides (P4) memberikan pengaruh terhadap penurunan ketebalan zona kartilago yang mengalami mineralisasi yaitu dari rerata 563,33µm menjadi 481,66µm.
