Abstract

Anemia is one of the global health issues. There was an increase in the prevalence of anemia in the 15 24 age group from 2014 to 2018, rising from 18.4% to 32%. Anemia in adolescents impacts concentration ability, immunity, cognitive function, and poses risks such as giving birth to low birth weight (LBW) babies and stunting. This study aims to determine the relationship between Body Mass Index (BMI) and Menstrual Cycle with the incidence of anemia in adolescents. The research employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 60 individuals, with sample collection conducted using the total sampling technique. Data analysis was carried out using the chi-square statistical test. The study showed that almost all adolescent girls with anemia had abnormal BMI (96.4%) and abnormal menstrual cycles (75.9%). Statistical tests revealed a significant relationship between anemia and BMI (P-value=0.001) and menstrual cycle (P-value=0.001) among adolescent girls. There is a significant relationship between BMI and menstrual cycle with the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls. BMI and menstrual cycle are factors contributing to anemia, thus requiring interventions targeting nutritional status and menstrual health among adolescent girls by raising awareness and promoting the habit of consuming healthy and balanced nutritious food.

Perineal wound care is an attempt to avoid perineal wound infection. Education through video media is aneducational tool that can make it easier for someone to receive information. The purpose of this study was todetermine the effect of education through video media on postpartum mothers' knowledge about perineal woundcare. The method used is Pre-Experimental Design, with the type of research one group pretest-posttest design. This research was conducted at TPMB Muarofah in January with a total sample of 55 respondents. The population of this study were all postpartum mothers who were included in the inclusion criteria using the Consecutivesampling technique. Data collection uses a questionnaire sheet. Data analysis used univariate analysis withfrequency distribution and bivariate analysis using the Wilcoxon Sign Rank test. The results of the univariateanalysis showed that of the 55 respondents before being given health education through video media, there were50 respondents who had less knowledge and after being given health education through video media, there were 48 respondents who had good knowledge. From the Wilcoxon Sign Rank test that was carried out, the results were <0.00, so it can be stated that health education through video media has an effect on the knowledge of postpartum mothers about perineal wound care at TPMB Muarofah, Surabaya City.

Abstract

Maternal and infant mortality rates in Indonesia remain a health issue that requires serious attention, especially in regions with limited healthcare facilities. Midwives' professionalism is essential in addressing this issue, as midwives are the primary providers of reproductive midwifery services. This study aims to identify the relationship between midwives' professionalism and patient satisfaction at PMB Nurhasanah, Bandar Lampung. The study employs a descriptive correlational design with a quantitative approach, involving 114 respondents selected using purposive sampling. The research instrument is a questionnaire that assesses midwives' professionalism through aspects of competence, ethics, communication, and empathy and measures patient satisfaction levels. The results show that most respondents (51%) rated midwives' professionalism as high, while 78% expressed their satisfaction at a moderate level. Pearson correlation analysis indicates a significant relationship between midwives' professionalism and patient satisfaction (p-value = 0.017), suggesting that improving midwives' professionalism positively correlates with increased patient satisfaction. These findings align with previous research, highlighting that midwives' professionalism, especially in communication and responsiveness, dramatically affects the quality of maternal and child healthcare services. Based on these results, this study recommends continuous training focused on developing ethics and communication skills for midwives. Furthermore, this study contributes to a deeper understanding of patient satisfaction factors. It encourages policies to strengthen midwives' professionalism to improve the quality of midwifery services locally.

Abstract

Abstract In Indonesia, the percentage of mothers providing exclusive breastfeeding is 69.7%. This figure has surpassed the national target of 45% in the performance report of the Ministry of Health for 2020–2021. However, it is still considered a standard figure compared to the Ministry of Health's strategic plan target for the 2020–2024 period, which is 69%. The benefits of exclusive breastfeeding can protect infants from gastrointestinal infections, which can lead to severe malnutrition, one of which is stunting. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between mothers' knowledge and attitudes toward exclusive breastfeeding at Karisma Maternity Clinic, Panjang, Bandar Lampung. This study is an analytical survey with a cross-sectional study design, conducted at Karisma Maternity Clinic, Panjang, Bandar Lampung, in September 2024. The results of this study indicate a relationship between mothers' knowledge and attitudes and the provision of exclusive breastfeeding at Karisma Clinic, Panjang, Bandar Lampung. Abstract

The use of hormonal contraception, such as 3-month injectable birth control, is often associated with side effects of menstrual disorders, one of which is menometrorrhagia. Untreated menometrorrhagia can affect the quality of life of birth control acceptors. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of acupressure therapy in 3-month contraceptive injection acceptors who experience complaints of menometrorrhagia. The research used an experimental method with a posttest-only non-equivalent control group design. The sample consisted of 23 acceptors of 3-month contraceptive injections who were divided into two intervention groups: Intervention 1 (reducing complaints from moderate to mild) and Intervention 2 (reducing complaints from mild to very mild or cured). The intervention was carried out for 7 days, focusing on the SP6, LI4, LV3, CV3 and CV4 acupressure points with a duration of 15–20 seconds per point. The results of statistical analysis showed that the average rating of menometrorrhagia complaints in the Intervention 1 group (14.23) was higher than Intervention 2 (9.10) with a significant value (p = 0.029). This shows that there is a significant difference between the two intervention groups, where Intervention 1 is more effective in reducing complaints of menometrorrhagia. These findings indicate that acupressure therapy is an effective method and can be applied as a non-pharmacological alternative to treat menometrorrhagia in 3-month contraceptive injection acceptors.
