Abstract

The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of the combination of doses of NPK fertilizer and coconut organic liquid fertilizer on the growth and production of tomato plants. The field experiment was carried out on October 7–December 30, 2021 at the Greenhouse Block C, and Ecology and Plant Production Laboratory, Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Diponegoro University, Semarang Central Java. The study used a 4 x 3 factorial experiment on the basis of a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 replications, so there were 36 experimental units. The first factor is the dose of NPK fertilizer with 4 treatment levels, namely NPK 375 kg/ha equivalent to 60 kg N/ha (according to the recommended dose equivalent to 7.5 g/plant = N1), NPK 281.25 kg/ha (75% recommended dose equivalent to 5.63 g/plant = N2), NPK 187.5 kg/ha (50% recommended dose equivalent to 3.75 g/plant = N3), and NPK 93.75 kg/ha (25% dose recommendation equivalent to 1.88 g/plant = N4). The second factor was the dose of coconut coir POC treatment with 3 levels, namely a dose of 300 ml of coconut fiber POC (K1), 500 ml of coconut fiber POC (K2) and 700 ml of coconut fiber POC (K3). Plant height, number of leaves, number of branches, stem diameter, flowering age, number of bunches per plant, number of fruits per bunch, number of fruits per plant, fruit diameter, fruit weight harvested, fruit weight per plant, and fruit quality were observed. The dataset obtained was analyzed for variance and further tested with Duncan's multiple distance test at the 5% level. The results showed that the dose of NPK fertilizer increased the number of branches, the number of bunches per plant, the number of fruits per bunch and the number of fruits per plant. Keywords: Coconut Organic Liquid Fertilizer, NPK, Tomat.Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh kombinasi antara dosis pupuk NPK dan POC sabut kelapa terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman tomat. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan pada tanggal 7 Oktober – 30 Desember 2021 di Greenhouse Blok C, dan analisis laboratorium dilakukan di Laboratorium Fisiologi dan Pemuliaan Tanaman, Fakultas Peternakan dan Pertanian, Universitas Diponegoro, Semarang, Jawa Tengah. Penelitian menggunakan percobaan faktorial 4 x 3 dengan dasar rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) sebanyak 3 kali ulangan, sehingga terdapat 36 satuan unit percobaan. Faktor pertama adalah dosis pupuk NPK dengan 4 taraf perlakuan, yaitu NPK 375 kg/ha setara dengan 60 kg N/ha (sesuai dosis rekomendasi setara dengan 7,5 g/tanaman = N1), NPK 281,25 kg/ha (75% dosis rekomendasi setara dengan 5,63 g/tanaman = N2), NPK 187,5 kg/ha (50% dosis rekomendasi setara dengan 3,75 g/tanaman = N3), dan NPK 93,75 kg/ha (25% dosis rekomendasi setara dengan 1,88 g/tanaman = N4).  Faktor kedua adalah perlakuan dosis POC sabut kelapa dengan 3 taraf yaitu dosis 300 ml POC sabut kelapa  (K1), 500 ml POC sabut kelapa (K2) dan 700 ml POC sabut kelapa (K3). Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah cabang, diameter batang, umur berbunga, jumlah tandan per tanaman, jumlah buah per tandan, jumlah buah per tanaman, diameter buah, berat buah panen, berat buah per tanaman dan kualitas buah. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis ragam dan uji lanjut dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Perlakuan dosis pupuk NPK meningkatkan jumlah cabang, jumlah tandan per tanaman, jumlah buah per tandan dan jumlah buah per tanaman. Kata kunci: POC Sabut Kelapa, NPK, Tomat.

Abstract

Gambir (Uncaria gambir) is a herbaceous plant that has alkaloid level sin the form of chemicall compounds suchas catechins, tannin catecu (tannin/tannat), querchitin, flouresin, and several other compounds. The aim of this study is to deterine the effectiveness of the concentration of gambir leaf extract (U. gambir Roxb), against the  mortality of fire caterpillarpest (S.asigna). Research was arrenged in anonfactorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 5 treatments, namely U0: No Application (Control), U1: Application with 8% gambier leaf extract, U2: Application with 16% gambier leaf extract, U3: Application with 24% gambier leaf extract and U4: Application with 32% gambier leaf extract. The results showed that effective application of gambier leaf extract was at concentration of 32% where at 5 days after the application the mortality rate offire caterpillar had reached 100% and suppressed the intensity of leaf attacks by14.28%. Keywords: Botanical Pesticide, Uncaria gambir extract, Setothosea asigna.

Abstract

The application of plant pest management techniques can affect agronomic character of crops, because there are active ingredients that acts as biofertilizer and biostimulant. This study aims to obtain the best agronomic character as a result the application of various active ingredientson corn crops (Zea mays) of the variety of Pioneer 36. The research method used was an experimental method, with a single-factor group randomize design, consisting of 4 treatments and 6 replications. The treatments of plant pest management consists of control (C), combination management (CM) a.i. PGPR, macro nutrient and micro nutrient; biointensive management (BM) a.i. Trichoderma hamatum and rice husk ash; synthetic management (SM) a.i. pyraclostrobin. The data obtained were analyzed variance and if the results were significantly different, it was followed by the least significant difference (LSD) at the level of 5%. The results showed that, the CM treatments gave the highest results on plant height (10,66 cm-248,78 cm) and the number of rows per cob (14,18). Meanwhile, the SM treatments gave the highest results on the length of cob without corn husk (17,44 cm) and the diameter of cob without corn husk (4,13 cm).Key words: PGPR, Trichoderma hamatum, rice husk ash, pyraclostrobin.

Abstract

Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi dalam penurunan hasil dan kualitas ubi jalar adalah serangan hama Cylas formicarius. Cendawan entomopatogen Lecanicillium lecanii merupakan salah satu agens hayati yang dapat digunakan untuk mengendalikan berbagai jenis serangga hama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh aplikasi cendawan entomopotagen L. lecanii untuk mengendalikan imago C. formicarius. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dan rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) faktor tunggal yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dalam 6 kali ulangan : Kontrol (Aquades); 106 konidia/ml; 107 konidia/ml; 108 konidia/ml. Pengamatan dilakukan setiap hari selama 10 hari setelah aplikasi (hsa) dengan menghitung 10 imago C. formicarius yang mati akibat disemprot dengan suspensi cendawan L. lecanii sebanyak 1 ml/perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kerapatan konidia L. lecanii 108 konida/ml memberikan hasil paling efektif terhadap mortalitas C. formicarius sebesar 50% dengan nilai LT50 sebesar 10,024 hari. Dengan demikian, cendawan entomopatogen L. lecanii sebagai agens hayati C. formicarius layak untuk dikembangkan lebih lanjut.

Abstract

Utilization of acidic marginal land for the cultivation of peanuts results in uneven yield productivity. Acidic soil is soil with a low base saturation level which affects the absorption of plant nutrients from the soil. This study aims to examine the effect of biochar and inoculation of soil-fertilizing microbes, Rhizobium sp. and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), also its interaction on groundnut production on acid soils. This experiment used a 4 × 3 factorial experiment with a completely randomized design (CRD) which was repeated 3 times. The first factor was the type of biochar material which consists of no application or control (B0), corn cobs (B1), rice husks (B2), and coconut shells (B3). The second factor was the inoculation of soil-fertilizing microbes consisting of Rhizobium sp. (M1), arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) (M2), and the combination of Rhizobium sp. + AMF (M3). The results showed that the application of biochar was significantly different to plant height, while the inoculation of soil-fertilizing microbes was significantly different to the number of leaves. Both showed no significant difference in the total weight of pods, seeds, soil pH, and the proportion of CMA colonization. Treatment of biochar from rice husk and double inoculation of Rhizobium sp. + CMA significantly obtains the highest yield in effective root nodule production.

Abstract

This research to the characteristics of the land suitability of coconut plantations in the Secanggang District. This research also analyzes the improvement efforts that need to be done in increasing the productivity of coconut plants and make maps of actual land suitability and potential land suitability of coconut plants in Secanggang District. As well as providing recommendations for fertilization on coconut plantations. This research was conducted using a survey method consisting of four stages of activity, namely preparation, main survey, soil analysis and data processing. It can be seen from the results of this study that the potential land suitability of coconut in Secanggang District is S3 f and n (marginally according to nutrient retention factors and nutrient availability) in the Village of Kepala Sungai, Tanjung Ibus, Karang Gading, Perkotaan and Telaga Jernih. S3 f (marginally according to nutrient retention factor) in Karang Anyar, Kebun Kelapa, Secanggang, Selotong, Pantai Gading, and Teluk Village. S2 w, f and n (enough according to the limiting factors of water availability, nutrient retention and nutrient availability) exist in Sei Ular and Hinai Kiri villages. The with improvement efforts to the limiting factor of nutrient retention by adding organic matter, the limiting factor of low nutrient availability is by fertilizing. After an effort has been made to evaluate the suitability of coconut land to S2 w with the limiting factor of water availability, namely rainfall, which is the main limiting factor in assessing land suitability because land improvements cannot be made.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to observe the growth and production of the Super Philips variety of shallots against the administration of Moringa leaf POC. The study was conducted in Klambir Lima Village, Hamparan Perak District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province with an altitude of ± 25 meters above sea level. This research was conducted from January to April 2022. The research method used was a single factor Randomized Block Design (RAK). These factors consisted of 4 treatments, namely: K0 (control), K1 (200 ml/liter water/plot), K2 (400 ml/liter water/plot) and K3 (600 ml/liter water/plot). Parameters observed were plant height, number of tillers, number of leaves, number of tubers per sample, tuber diameter, wet weight of sample per sample, and wet tubers per plot. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance. If the results of the analysis of varieties have a significant difference at = 5%, then proceed with the DMRT test (Duncan Multiple Range Test). The results showed that the best concentration of Moringa leaf POC was 200 ml/liter of water/plot. Keywords: shallots, Super Philips, POC, Moring

Abstract

This study aims to determine the production yield of cayenne papper (capsicum frutescens L.) using cocopeat growing media in pots. The method used in this study was a non-factorial randomized block design (RAK) using cocopeat as a planting medium whit a level of A0: rop soil + goat manure (9 kg/pot + 1 kg/pot), A1 : cocopeat + goat manure (5 kg/pot + 1 kg/pot), A2 : top soil + cocopeat + goat manure ( 5 kg/pot + 5 kg/pot + 1 kg/pot). Based on the results of research that has been carried out, cocopeat planting media 5 kg/pot + goat manure 1 kg/pot is the best combination of planting media from all planting media treatments that have been tested in this tudy, the number of flower the number of productive branches, the number of fruit, and fruit weigh of cayenne pepper. It is recommended to use a maxture of cocopeat an goat manure growing media (A1 treatment) and soak the cocopeat longer than what has been done ( 3 days). Key words: cayenne  pepper, cocopeat, produktivity

Abstract

The research aimed to study the effect of manure enriched by rock phosphate and shoot pruning on the growth and yield of okra. The experiment used a 5 x 2 factorial based on randomized block design (RAK) with 3 replications, so that the obtained 30 units of treatment. The first factor was the type of  fertilization which consists of 5 levels, namely : P0 = TSP, P1 = poultry manure + TSP, P2 = cow manure + TSP, P3 = poultry manure + RP, P4 = cow manure + RP. The second factor was the shoot pruning which consists of 3 levels, namely : T0 = without shoot pruning and T1 = shoot pruning. Parameters measured number of branches, chlorophyll content,, flowering age, number of fruit, fruit weight, dry matter production and P uptake of stover on okra plants. Data were subjected to anova and followed by DMRT. The results showed that the type of fertilization and shoot pruning not significant the parameters of flowering age, chlorophyll content, dry matter production of stover and P uptake of stover on okra plants. The type of fertilization treatment and shoot pruning significant of the number of branches, number of fruit, and weight of okra fruit.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of the application of liquid organic fertilizer in cow urine on the vegetative growth of oil palm seedlings in early nurseries. This research was conducted in the experimental garden of ITSI Medan. This research was conducted for 3 months. Starting from August 2021–October 2021. This study used a non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) method consisting of 5treatments with 5 replications, so the number of samples was 25 seeds. Parameters observed were plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, shoot dry weight, root dry weight, shoot wet weight and root wet weight. The data obtained were statistically analyzed by DMRT and ANOVA tests. The results of this study indicate that the application of liquid organic fertilizer cow urine has an effect on the vegetative growth of oil palm seedlings in early nurseries with the best dose of 20 ml cow urine. The standard gave some significant and very significant effects on stem height, stem diameter, number of leaves, but had no effect on wet weight and dry weight. Keywords:urine, pre nursery, poc
