Abstract

Limnocharis flava L., is a plant native to Latin America and tropical regions that has been introduced to South and East Asia. This plant is a potential source of nutrition as it contains various nutrients, including protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants. It is commonly consumed as a vegetable, and its leaves and flowers have a high economic value and are sold in traditional and modern markets. The cultivation of genjer has promising potential, as observed in some areas of Indonesia where it can be grown on a large scale with good profitability. Therefore, a study was conducted on the potential cultivation of Limnocharis flava L in improving the economic income of communities in Southeast Aceh. The research used an exploratory method, including surveys, observations, and questionnaire results in Southeast Aceh district. Although genjer is still not widely cultivated, observations in several areas in Indonesia have shown that the plant can be grown on a large scale with good profitability. Genjer farmers in Southeast Aceh have an average income of Rp.619,632 per month. Keywords: Economic, Genjer, Food, simple, Traditional.

Abstract

Pagoda mustard (Brassica narinosa) is a plant that can be cultivated hydroponically. Hydroponics can be applied by people who have limited planting land, taking into account the dosage of the AB Mix nutrient concentration and the type of wick used. This study aims to obtain the best concentration of AB Mix on each type of axis on the growth and yield of pagoda mustard (Brassica narinosa) using the wick system hydroponic method. The research was conducted on Ciantra Village, South Cikarang District, Bekasi Regency, West Java. This study lasted for 2 months starting from November to December 2022. The research method used in this study was a factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) experimental method consisting of 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor with 3 levels, namely the concentration of AB Mix nutrients n1 (1000 ppm), n2 (1200 ppm), and n3 (1400 ppm) while the second factor with 3 levels, namely the type of axis s1 (flannel wick), s2 (stove wick), and s3 (coconut coir). To find out the best treatment and continued with further test (Duncan Multiple Range Test) DMRT level of 5%. The results showed that there was an interaction between the concentration of AB Mix nutrients and the type of axis on the number of leaves 7 HST and economic fresh weight. Treatment of the nutrient concentration AB Mix n3 (1400 ppm) on the type of axis s1 (flannel wick) gave the best average economic fresh weight of 48,42 grams. Keywords: Pagoda, Wick System Hydroponics, AB Mix Nutrient Concentration, Wick Type

Abstract

                                                       ABSTRACTSpinach is a leafy vegetable that is highly nutritious and is loved by all levels of society, and has unique and beneficial properties for health. response of red spinach (Amaranthus tricolor L.). This research was carried out for one month, from September to October 2022 at Maura Farm which is located at Jalan Bawang Tengah RT 02 RW 06 Pedurenan Mustika Jaya, Bekasi City, West Java, Indonesia. The research method used was an experimental method with a factorial randomized block design (RAK). The number of treatments was 12, each of which was repeated 3 times so that there were 36 experimental units. The treatments tested were m0 (Rockwool), m1 (chaff charcoal), m2 (Cotton), m3 (Hydroton), p1 (1,000 ppm), p2 (1,250 ppm), p3 (1,500 ppm). The results showed that there was a significant effect between the administration of various different concentrations of Hydro J liquid fertilizer on the yield of red spinach (Ammaranthus tricolor L) Mira 285 variety. Keywords: Red Spinach, Floating Raft, Organic Growing Media. ABSTRAK Bayam  merupakan bahan sayuran daun yang bergizi tinggi dan digemari oleh semua lapisan masyarakat, serta memiliki keunikan dan khasiat yang baik untuk kesehatan.. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan konsentrasi dari larutan AB Mix terbaik pada setiap jenis media tanam organik yang memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap respon tanaman bayam merah (Amaranthus  tricolor L.). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama satu bulan yaitu bulan September hingga Oktober 2022 di Maura Farm yang berlokasi di Jalan Bawang Tengah RT 02 RW 06 Pedurenan Mustika Jaya, Kota Bekasi Jawa Barat, Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eskperimental dengan rancangan lingkungan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial. Jumlah perlakuan sebanyak 12 yang masing - masing diulang sebanyak 3 kali sehingga terdapat 36 unit percobaan. Perlakuan yang diuji yaitu m0 (Rockwool), m1 (Arang sekam), m2 (Kapas), m3 (Hydroton), p1 (1.000 ppm), p2 (1.250 ppm), p3 (1.500 ppm). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Terdapat pengaruh nyata antara pemberian berbagai konsentrasi berbeda akibat pupuk cair Hydro J terhadap hasil tanaman bayam merah (Ammaranthus tricolor L) varietas Mira 285. Kata Kunci : Bayam Merah, Rakit Apung, Media Tanam Organik.

Abstract

One of the causes of the decreased production of sweet corn (Zea mays L. saccharata Sturt.) is the attack  by disease. Some important diseases that attack sweet corn is leaf blight and leaf rust. Use of hybrid varieties one of the solution which can be used to reduce the crop loss caused by disease. This study aimed to testing the level of resistance of sweet corn hybrid candidates against important corn disease. The research was conducted in the Ambu Garden, Pusakamulya Village, Kiarapedes sub District, Purwakarta District, from July 2021 to September 2021. The design used was a non-factorial randomized block design (RAK) with 33 genotypes of prospective hybrids and 3 commercial comparison varieties and 3 replications. The test result on leaf blight and leaf rust there are several hybrids candidate shows a resistant to moderately resistant reaction. From testing against leaf blight, there are 8 hybrids candidate showed a resistant reaction to moderately resistant. The test result against leaf rust disease, there are 9 hybrids candidate showed resistant to moderately resistant reaction. Overall, the test results against leaf blight disease and leaf rust disease there are  six candidates of sweet corn hybrids that show resistant reaction against both disease, there is UNSIKA 33, 35, 36, 37, 41, and 44 with an average attack intensity of 20,00%. Keywords: Hybrid varieties,Leaf blight, Leaf rust, Sweet corn

Abstract

Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L) is one of the most widely consumed horticultural product in Indonesia. The use of organic matter is one of the efforts to meet the nutritional needs that will be absorbed by plants and increase soil fertility. The purpose of this study was to provide information on the best concentration of fermented water from organic waste on the growth and yield of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) Mercy F1 variety. This research was conducted for three months, from February to March 2022 in Sukaluyu Village, Telukjambe Timur District, Karawang Regency, West Java Province, Indonesia. This research method used an experimental method with a single factor randomized block design (RAK). The number of treatments was 8, each of which was repeated 4 times, so there were 32 experimental units. The treatments were A0 (0 ml/l), A1 (100 ml/l), A2 (200 ml/l), A3 (300 ml/l), A4 (400 ml/l), A5 (500 ml/l ), A6 (NASA POC), and A7 (NPK Fertilizer). The results showed that the application of giving the concentration of fermented water from organic waste did not significantly affect the growth and yield of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) Abstract

Green mustard or often also called mustard meatball is a vegetable commodity that has good opportunities or prospects to be cultivated in urban areas using polybag media. Chicken manure contains a lot of N element which is very good for leaf growth. While compound fertilizer NPK 16:16:16 is perfect because it has immediate nutrients such as Nitrogen, Phospot and Potassium which these nutrients will stimulate plant growth. This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of giving chicken manure and compound fertilizer NPK 16:16:16 on the growth and production of mustard (brassica chinensis var. Parachinensis). This study used a randomized block design with 2 treatment factors and 3 replications. Which factor I consists of 4 levels A0 = No chicken manure A1 = Chicken manure 10 tons/ha (equivalent to 15 g/polybag), A2 = Chicken manure 20 tons/ha (equivalent to 30 g/polybag), A3 = Chicken manure 30 tons/ha (equivalent to 45 g/polybag) while the second factor consists of 3 levels, namely N0 without NPK fertilizer N1 = NPK fertilizer 450 kg/ha (equivalent to 0.675 g/polybag) N2 = NPK fertilizer 900 kg/ha (equivalent to 1.35 g/polybag), resulting in 12 combinations. Furthermore, the research parameters were seen from plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, root dry weight, root wet weight, biomass weight of the sample, wet weight of planting and root volume. So that the research results from the parameters seen there are only a few parameters that have a very significant effect such as leaf width and plant height. While the number of leaves and biomass weight of the sample had no effect, but not significant, while other parameters such as wet weight of planting, wet weight of roots, dry weight of roots and root volume had no effect, therefore to get more optimal results it is recommended to conduct further research. Key words : Chicken manure, compound fertilizer NPK 16:16:16, green mustard

Abstract

Superior seeds are one of the factors in determining the success of straw mushroom (Volvariella volvaceae) cultivation. Pure culture of straw mushroom can be obtained through several stages, including pure culture culture or F0, then from F0 it is sub-cultured into F1, F2, F3 and F4 seeds. The purpose of this study was to obtain one of the isolate numbers for the candidate seedling F3 which gave the best growth using rice straw media. The research was conducted in a farmer's mushroom house located in the village of Pasirmulya, Majalaya, Karawang Regency. The research will be carried out for approximately 2 months from December to January 2023. The research method used is a randomized block design (RBD) with 5 repetitions. There were 7 repetitions, namely A (F3 FP White), B (F3 FP Semi), F3 Clones 11, F3 Clones 12, F3 Clones 13, F3 Clones 14 and F3 Clones 15. The effect of treatment was analyzed using analysis of variance and if the F test was significant at 5% level, then to find out which treatment gave the best results it was continued with the DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) at 5% level. The results showed that there was a significant effect on the growth of several numbers of candidate isolates for spreading F3 mushroom (Volvariella volvaceae) Faperta Unsika on the use of rice straw media. Treatment E (Clone 13) gave the highest total weight of one kumbung of 1828.80 g, when converted the yield in one kumbung became 63.80 kg, the average fruit weight per plot was 135.732 g and the average harvest intensity of one growing season during 14,400 days. Key Words:Isolate F3 Faperta Unsika,Straw,Straw Mushroom, Clone 13

Abstract

First tillage is the process of rearranging lumps of soil and the structure of the soil into crumbs, which allows for faster water infiltration, sufficient air exchange, and the control of weeds. Tillage work is preparation for planting.The role that earthworms play as a fertilizer for the soil as a whole, particularly their capacity to enhance soil properties like nutrient availability, organic matter decomposition, mineral weathering, and others in order to boost soil productivity.The purpose of this study was to determine the earthworm population level in Lalang, No Vegetation, Corn Districts using a variety of land preparation and weed management strategies.From July to October 2022, Labuhanbatu University hosted three local plant vegetation studies: Lalang, No Vegetation, and Maize.The quadratic method and hand sorting were used to observe earthworms, plot plots were made with a 30 x 30 cm frame, and soil samples were taken.each frame as deep as 20 cm, and then placed in the container.After sampling begins between 8:00 and 11:00 WIB, the soil is sorted for earthworms.After being collected and cleaned, the earthworms were counted, placed in a sample bottle, and preserved with 70% alcohol. The earthworm samples were then taken to the Animal Systematic Laboratory to be identified and the number of individuals of each type found was counted.The morphology of 70% alcohol-preserved earthworms was examined under a microscope to first group them by type and then to identify them.Analysis of the Data The population density, relative density, frequency of presence, and composition of the earthworms as well as the number of individuals of each type that were obtained were all taken into consideration.There are two families of earthworm species in the Corn District: Glossoscoleadae (Pontoscolex and Megascolex species) and Megascolecidae (Megascolex species), according to the findings of research and identification carried out on land preparation for planting corn, weeds, and land without vegetation. There is only one Megascolecidae family-Megascolex speciesin the Lalang District, and there is only one Megascolecidae familyPeryonix specieswithout vegetation. Keywords:Labuhanbatu University, various kinds of vegetation, land management, and earth worms

Abstract

In the propagation of Kepok Tanjung Bananas, many use natural vegetative propagation, so that the seeds obtained are in small quantities and require a long time, while artificial vegetative propagation has advantages, among others, in a short time it can produce large amounts of uniform seeds. Propagation of seedlings from weevils can take advantage of the remaining felled stump so that the cost is relatively cheap. By administering some natural Growth Regulatory Substances (PGR) can affect the success of vegetative propagation using weevils. The role of PGR, among others, is to regulate the speed of growth and integrate plant tissues to form a plant. The research objective was to obtain the best shoot growth from the vegetative propagation of the banana weevil (Musa paradisiaca L.) kepok tanjung variety by administering some natural Growth Regulatory Substances (PGR). This study used an experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD), with treatments namely B0: Control; B1: bamboo shoot extract; B2: shallot extract; B3: coconut water. Parameters observed were the age of shoot emergence, number of shoots, shoot length, age of transplanting or transplanting. The results of the test of several natural Growth Regulatory Substances (PGR) for vegetative propagation of the banana weevil (Musa paradisiaca L.) of the Kepok Tanjung variety that have been carried out can be concluded that the application of several natural PGR, coconut water provides higher shoot growth with a total of 5 shoots, shoot length was 92.5 cm, number of leaves was 2.60 and the age of transplanting was 39.8 DAP, while PGR of bamboo shoots could accelerate the age of shoot emergence on day 28.8. Keywords:Banana Weevil, Vegetative, Natural PGR

Abstract

The current rapid developments and globalization have triggered the conversion of agricultural land into residential, industrial and urban areas which has reduced land for agriculture. Aquaponics basically consists of fish farming and plant maintenance. Water, which is a medium for fish cultivation, is used as a source of nutrition in plant maintenance, while plants function as a biofilter for water. This cultivation technique is expected to obtain high productivity with limited land. Besides being able to meet food needs, it can also provide aesthetic value and environmental cleanliness in urban areas. This study used red onion seeds of the Sanren variety. This study was an experimental study using a non-factorial randomized block design (RBD) consisting of 1 treatment factor and 5 blocks. so as to get 20 research plots. Factor Planting media with symbol (M) which consists of 4 levels, namely: M1: Compost, M2: Chaff Charcoal, M3: Cocopeat, M4: Rice Husk. The results showed that the use of several planting media in the floating raft aquponic system had a very significant effect on the number of tillers (saplings), dry tuber weight per sample (g), dry tuber weight per plot (g). Keywords: Shallots, Growing Media, Floating Raft
