Abstract

Nilaparvata lugens is one of the harmful pests that causes the quantity and quality of rice yields to decrease. The use of chemical pesticides to control pests has a negative impact on the environment and farmers. Biological control using the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium anisopliae safe to use to treat pest attacks. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of using the entomopathogenic fungus M. anisopliae on mortality N. lugens. The method used in this study is an experimental method with a single factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD). This study used liquid suspension conidia density of M. anisopliae consisting of 5 treatments and 4 repetitions: A (sterile distilled water) as control; B (density 106 conidia/ml); C (density 107 conidia/ml); D (density 108 conidia/ml); E (density 109 conidia/ml). Each experimental unit was infested with 10 instar 3 N. lugens and observed mortality for 7 days after application (hsa). The highest mortality calculation result for N. lugens was shown by application of M. anisopliae suspension at density 10 9 conidia/ml of 97,50% and probit analysis yielded an LC50 value of 8,78 x 108 conidia/ml which killed 50% N. lugens pests. Biological control using the entomopathogenic fungus M. anisopliae is effective for controlling N.lugens and high conidia density can infect the pest with higher mortality.

Abstract

Oil palm is the largest vegetable oil-producing crop. With the increasing area of oil palm plantations, it is necessary efforts to improve the quality that affects production, one of which is the nursery. Topsoil as a commonly used planting medium is starting to be challenging to find, so an alternative planting medium is needed to replace topsoil. Charcoal husks can be used as a mixture of planting media. This study aims to obtain the best composition of rice husk charcoal and topsoil planting medium for the growth of oil palm seedlings (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) of the Yangambi DxP variety during the pre-nursery period. This research was conducted at UNSIKA's new land, Pasirjengkol Village, Majalaya District, Karawang Regency. The design used was a single-factor Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 4 treatments and 6 replications: M1 (100% topsoil), M2 (75% topsoil + 25% rice husk charcoal), M3 (50% topsoil + 50% rice husk charcoal) and M4 (75% top soil + 25% rice husk charcoal). Data were analyzed using F-test analysis at a 5% level. The results showed a significant effect of M3 treatment (50% top soil + 50% rice husk charcoal) on the number of leaves and M4 treatment (75% top soil + 25% rice husk charcoal) on root length. The M3 treatment (50% top soil + 50% husk charcoal) gave the best composition in the parameters of stem diameter, plant height, number of leaves, and leaf length, then the best root length parameters obtained by the M4 treatment (25% top soil + 75% charcoal husk). Keywords: growing medium, husk charcoal, nursery, Oil palm variety DxP Yangambi.

Abstract

Shallot is one of the horticultural commodities that has high economic value because its existence is very much needed by the people of Indonesia. This study aims to determine the exact concentration of BAP that can provide the best agronomic performance on several varieties of shallots in the lowlands. This research was conducted from December 2022 to May 2023 at the Screen House of the Faculty of Agriculture, Singaperbangsa University, Karawang which is located in Pasir Jengkol Village, Majalaya District, Karawang Regency. The research method used was Factorial (RAK) which consisted of 12 treatments and each treatment was repeated 3 times so that there were 36 experimental units in total. The first factor is variety which consists of 3 levels, namely v1 (Dayak), v2 (Sumenep), v3 (Bima Brebes). The second factor was the concentration of BAP which consisted of 4 levels, namely b1 (0 ppm), b2 (25 ppm), b3 (50 ppm), b3 (75 ppm). The effect of treatment was analyzed using analysis of variance and if the F test at 5% level was significant, then it was continued with a 5% DMRT follow-up test. The experimental results showed that there was no interaction between the several varieties and BAP concentrations on all observed parameters. however, the results showed a significant effect on the independent factor of the variety. Variety v1 (Dayak) was able to produce the highest number of tillers, fresh weight of stover, fresh weight of tubers per clump, dry weight of stover and dry weight of tubers per clump compared to v2 (Sumenep) and v3 (Bima Brebes). The independent factor of BAP concentration did not have a significant effect on all observed parameters.

Abstract

Mushroom is one type of mushroom that is quite widely known by the people of Indonesia. This straw mushroom is included in the agricultural commodity of horticultural crops where the economic value is quite high. The current problems of mushroom cultivation are straw mushroom seeds, straw mushroom growing media, and rice straw harvesting techniques. The purpose of this study was to compare the characteristics of the mushroom (Volvariella volvaceae) on straw media with different harvesting methods (gebot, combine¸ and trasher). The research was conducted in a farmer's straw mushroom house located in Pasir Buah Hamlet, Pasirmulya Village, Majalaya District, Karawang Regency. In November-December 2022. The research method used was a single factor Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 3 replications. There are 12 treatments, namely A (Gebot 100%), B (Combine 100%), C (Trasher 100%), D (Gebot 50% + Combine 50%), E (Gebot 50% + Trasher 50%), F (Combine 50% + Trasher 50%), G (Gebot 75% + Combine 25%), H (Gebot 75% + Trasher 25%), I (Combine 75% + Trasher 25%), J (Gebot 25% + Trasher 75%) K (Combine 75% + Trasher 25%), L (Trasher 75% + Combine 25%). The effect of treatment was analyzed by analysis of variance and if the F test at 5% level was significant, then to find out which treatment was the best, it was continued with the DMRT follow-up test (Duncan Multiple Range Test) at the level of 5%. There was a significant effect on the number of fruit bodies, body weight per fruit tray, and fruit body weight from the productivity test of G3 FP005 mushroom seeds with media combine 75% + trasher 25% can be used as a reference material for the growth of straw mushroom, because it has better results than other treatments for the growth and development of straw mushroom. Keywords:G3 Faperta Isolate, Straw Mushroom, Straw Harvesting Method

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the growth and production of soybean plants (glycine max L) with the response to cow dung and banana peel POC fertilizers and their interactions. This research method used a factorial randomized block design (RAK) consisting of 2 factors with 16 treatment combinations and 2 replications so that 32 research plots were needed. The first factor studied was the treatment of cow dung fertilizer with the symbol "S" consisting of S0 = 0 g/plant, S1 = 100 g/plant, S2 = 200 g/plant, and S3 = 300 g/plant. The second factor is giving POC banana peels with the symbol "K" consisting of K0 = 0 ml/liter of water/planting hole, K1= 200 ml/liter of water/planting hole, K2= 400 ml/liter of water/planting hole, and K3= 600ml/liter of water/planting hole. The parameters observed were plant height (cm), number of pods per sample (fruit), production per sample (g), production per plot (g) and weight per 100 seeds. The results showed that the application of cow dung fertilizer and banana peel POC had a significant effect on plant height (cm), but had no significant effect on the parameters of Number of Pods per Sample (fruit), production per sample (g), production per plot (g) and weight per 100 seeds. Keywords: Cow Manure, POC Banana Peel, Soybean

Abstract

Marigold (Tagetes patula L.) is an ornamental plant that has benefits in various sectors. The quantity of marigold flower production is related to the cultivation technique used. Soil conditions also affect the level of plant fertility. This can be overcome by means of fertilization. The aim of this study was to obtain a combination of doses of cow manure and bricket organic fertilizer concentration which gave the highest growth and yield of marigold plants (Tagetes patula L.) var French Petite Orange. The research was conducted at the Soursop Gardens of Casamora, City Parks and Forest Service, Ciganjur, Jagakarsa, DKI Jakarta in March - June 2023. The research method used was an experimental method with a Single Factor Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 5 treatments repeated 5 time. The treatment consisted of A (0 ton/ha Cow Manure + 0 ml Organic Fertilizer Briquette) (control), B (15 ton/ha Cow Manure + 1.5 ml/liter of water Briquette Organic Fertilizer), C (20 ton/ha Manure Cattle + 1.5 ml/liter of water Organic Fertilizer Briquettes), D (15 tons/ha Cow Manure + 3 ml/liter of water Organic Fertilizer Briquettes), E (20 tons/ha Cow Manure + 3 ml/liter of Briquette Organic Fertilizer water ). The results showed that there was a significant effect of giving a combination of doses of cow manure and briquette organic fertilizer concentration in treatment E (20 tons/ha of cow manure + 3 ml/liter of water of briquette organic fertilizer) on flower diameter (32.49 mm), number of flowers (7.47), the number of branches (6.07) the yield of fresh weight of flowers (10.19 g), the yield of dry weight of flowers (3.74 grams), the yield of total fresh weight of plants (192.69 g), and the yield of dry weight total plant (54.55 g).

Abstract

Exploration is the first step in finding germplasm of aren palm plants that have the expected traits through breeding programs so that it is expected to be one of the solutions for the development of aren palm plants. This research will be conducted from May to October 2023 in community-owned aren palm plantations in 50 cities. The purpose of this research is to characterize the morphology of Aren plants in District 50 Kota and to see the level of diversity of aren palm plants in the area. The research method was survey method, with purposive sampling. The data collection technique is to observe the morphological parts of the plant in each sample. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively, while for the analysis of similarity the calculation of the NTSYS Ver 2.02 program was used. The results of the study obtained 4 clusters of palm plants from 3 villages namely Nagari Sungai Kamuyang, Sikabu-kabu and Mungo. Researchers obtained 15 samples of aren palm plants characterized by 19 characters, namely 10 characters have wide variability and 9 characters have narrow variability with a level of diversity ranging from 14% - 47%.   Keywords: Cluster, Survey, Diversity, Nagari

Abstract

Straw mushroom is one of the agricultural commodities that has a good future for breeding. The increase in public consumption of straw mushroom in Indonesia is not proportional to the amount of production. This research aims to get the best combination treatment of leri water and tempe liquid waste in increasing the yield of straw mushroom (Volvariella volvaceae). This research was conducted in Pasirmulya Village, Majalaya District, Karawang Regency from August to September 2020. This research used an experimental method with a single-factor Randomized Block Desaign (RBD) consisting of 8 treatments, namely K0 (without leri water and tempe liquid waste), K1 (leri water 25%), K2 (leri water 50%), K3 (leri water 100%), K4 (tempe liquid waste 50%), K5 (tempe liquid waste 100%), K6 (leri water 50% and tempe liquid waste 50%), and K7 (25% leri water and 50% tempe liquid waste). Each treatment is repeated 3 times. The results showed that the combination of leri water and tempe liquid waste had a significant effect on the fruit body diameter and the fruit body weight. K6 treatment (50% leri water and 50% tempe liquid waste) gave the highest yield of fruit body diameter (12,82 mm) and K1 treatment (25% leri water) gave the highest result in fruit body weight (9,21 g)

Abstract

Hydroponics is a planting system in agriculture that uses a mixture of water and nutrient solutions as a growth medium to replace the role of soil in meeting nutrient needs and uses non-soil growing media as a planting technique. Hydroponic wick system is one of the hydroponics that uses the working principle of water capillary action by using the axis as an intermediary for the rise of water from the nutrient container to the plant root area. The research method used was the experimental method using a factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD). There are 2 factors consisting of 16 treatments. The first factor is the type of wick which consists of 4 levels, namely Flannel, Wool, Stove Wick and. The second factor was the type of planting medium which consisted of 4 levels, namely Rockwool, Cocopeat,  Hydroton and Sewdust. Each experiment was repeated 3 times so that a total of 48 experimental units were obtained. The experimental results showed that there was an interaction effect between the type of axis and the planting medium on plant height at 35 and 40 days after planting and number of leaves at 7, 14, 21 and 28 days after planting curly mustard greens (Brassica juncea L.) Samhong King variety in hydroponic wick system. In the flannel axis type, the optimal planting media type is cocopeat planting media with a fresh weight yield of 282,13 g giving the highest yield on the flannel axis type with a yield of 187,84 g.

Abstract

Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) of the pumpkin tribe or Cucurbitaceae is a plant that produces edible fruit. The fruit is usually harvested when it is not fully ripe to be used as a vegetable or refreshment, depending on the type. One way to add nutrients to the soil is by applying chicken manure. According to Haryanto (2016) in Rumondang et al., (2020) also explained that the use of organic fertilizers is an action to improve the environment for plant plants that can improve the quality of land in a sustainable manner and organic fertilizers are also very beneficial for increasing agricultural production both in quality and quantity. This research was conducted on the experimental garden plot of the Faculty of Agriculture, Indonesian Community Development University UPMI Medan, on Jl. Market Village Hall 12 Marindal II, Patumbak District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province. At an altitude of 1000 meters above sea level. With the time of research in May-July 2023. The research was carried out in a factorial manner with the basic pattern of a randomized block design (RBD) consisting of two factors. Factor I: Dosage of chicken manure (A), namely: A0 = Control, A1 = 1 Kg/Plot, A2 = 2 Kg/Plot. Factor II: Dosage of liquid organic fertilizer orrin (O), namely: O1 = Control, O2 = 5 ml/l/plant, O3 = 10 ml/l/plant. The results showed that the single effect of giving chicken manure at level A2 (2 kg/plot) had an effect on increasing the growth of plant length, (at the age of 4 weeks), number of leaves (at the ages of 2 weeks, 3 weeks and 4 weeks), number of fruits and weight. fruit. The interaction effect of giving chicken coop and Orrin liquid organic fertilizer had no effect on plant length, number of leaves, number of fruits and fruit weight.
