Abstract

This study aims to develop and implement a multidimensional vector modeling approach to comprehensively analyze the methodological competence of prospective mathematics teachers. The analysis focuses on five core dimensions: cognitive, social, operational, research, and methodological. The participants comprised 25 master’s students in Mathematics Education with a minimum of one year of teaching experience. Data were collected through self-perception questionnaires and classroom performance observation sheets, and subsequently represented as five-component vectors. The calculated vector modulus was 3.66, indicating that the overall methodological competence is at a developing level. Findings reveal that the cognitive and operational dimensions dominate competence achievements, whereas the social and research dimensions require further reinforcement. Vector modeling allows for simultaneous representation of inter-component competencies, providing a precise depiction of ability distribution and inter-dimensional variation. These results offer an empirical basis for teacher education institutions to design adaptive professional development programs and extend the literature on multidimensional teacher competence assessment in mathematics education. Thus, this approach not only enhances conceptual understanding of the structure of methodological competence but also provides an objective and strategic diagnostic tool for targeted teacher training interventions.

Abstract

Scientific attitude is an essential component in science learning, as it supports students’ ability to think critically, engage in scientific processes, and actively participate in learning activities. The purpose of this study was to develop a scientific attitude instrument for junior high school students using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach, in which data and information related to students’ scientific attitudes were collected comprehensively. The collected data were subsequently used to construct a scientific attitude instrument. Data were gathered using a questionnaire as the research instrument. Data analysis techniques involved Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) to identify the relationships among manifest variables or indicator variables in forming latent constructs, and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) to examine whether the indicators grouped according to their latent variables were consistently represented within their respective constructs. The results of the EFA indicated that the scientific attitude instrument consisted of two factors with eigenvalues greater than one, each comprising seven items. Furthermore, the CFA results demonstrated that the constructed model showed a good fit and consistency across both factors. In conclusion, the developed scientific attitude instrument consists of 14 items and can be used to measure students’ scientific attitudes.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning assisted by Canva media on the motivation and learning achievement of fifth-grade IPAS students at SDN 01 Sukadana, specifically on the water cycle material. This study employs a quantitative approach and a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research subjects were 40 V grade students at SDN 01 Sukadana. Purposive sampling was used for the sample selection, where class VA was designated as the experimental group, receiving treatment using the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Canva media, while class VB served as the control group, receiving treatment using conventional/lecture-based learning. The instruments used were a learning motivation questionnaire and a student learning achievement test. The analysis employed in this study involved normality and homogeneity prerequisite tests, followed by Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) using SPSS 22 to examine the effect of Canva-assisted Problem Based Learning on student motivation and learning achievement. The multivariate test results indicate that the learning model variable significantly influences student motivation and learning achievement (Sig. 0.000 < 0.05).

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the SQ3R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) method on the reading and writing skills of third-grade students at SD Negeri 03 Sukamaju. Low basic literacy skills and the limitations of conventional methods motivated this quasi-experimental study. A nonequivalent control group design was used, involving 21 students divided into experimental and control groups. The research instrument, a reading comprehension and writing test, was analyzed using an independent sample t-test. The results showed a significant difference in improvement between the two groups, with a normalized N-Gain value of 0.63 for the experimental group (medium-high category) and 0.30 for the control group. The statistical analysis yielded a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that the SQ3R method has a positive and significant effect on improving students' reading and writing skills. This method is recommended as a structured alternative learning strategy to address literacy challenges in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of using Assemblr Edu learning media in improving students’ conceptual understanding of the circulatory system. This research employed an experimental method with a quasi-experimental design, specifically the pretest–posttest non-equivalent control group design. The study was carried out in Grade VIII at SMP Negeri 4 Seponti. The research population consisted of all Grade VIII students, with a total sample of 32 students. The research instrument used was a written test consisting of five essay questions. The data were analyzed using prerequisite tests, namely the normality test and homogeneity test. Hypothesis testing was conducted using the paired sample t-test with the assistance of IBM SPSS version 25. The results showed that the significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) was 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. These findings demonstrate that Assemblr Edu learning media is effective in improving students’ conceptual understanding of the cardiovascular system material.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relevance between the concept of Allah's teaching to Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) in Surah Al-Baqarah verses 31–33 and Jean Piaget's cognitive learning theory. The background of this research is the dichotomy that often separates Islamic epistemology (revelation) from modern psychological theories (reason), even though both share common ground in viewing human potential. The research method used is a literature study with a thematic exegesis and comparative psychological approach. The results show that the concept of Ta'lim al-Asma (teaching of names) received by Prophet Adam aligns with the concepts of schema and symbolic representation in Piaget's theory. Adam's ability to recall and mention the names of objects demonstrates the functioning of cognitive assimilation and accommodation processes. In conclusion, the Qur'an established the foundations of cognitivism long before modern theories developed, confirming that humans are designed as learning beings with cognitive structures ready to acquire knowledge.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia is often trapped in cognitive formalities and neglects the aspect of affection or "heart". This study aims to explore and compare the concept of education based on compassion or "Curriculum of Love" from two national education figures, KH. Ahmad Dahlan and Ki Hajar Dewantara. The method used in this research is library research with a philosophical-comparative approach to primary and secondary works relevant to the thoughts of both figures. The results show that Ki Hajar Dewantara formulated the concept of love through the "Among System" (Asah, Asih, Asuh) which breathes humanist-nationalist, while KH. Ahmad Dahlan manifested love through Al-Ma'un theology and compassion based on religious-social values. Although departing from different foundations (nationalist vs. religious), the two figures meet at a meeting point, namely placing educators not as rulers who punish, but as guardians who love. The synthesis of this thought is relevant to be applied as a foundation for strengthening character education in the modern era.
