Abstract

The work of weaving is not just an activity of producing a cloth or sarong to wrap the human body, but is deeper as a work resulting from the sacrifice and perseverance of a woman who tells the history of tribal customs, the history of the village, and a form of respect for a woman who wants to be married to a man. The purpose of writing this article is to explain the Semai Lino cultural house and the work of Lewokluok women's ikat weaving from a feminist theological perspective. This article was written using a qualitative research method that focuses on literature studies in the form of books and journal articles that are appropriate to the theme being researched and the method of interviewing a number of key informants who are directly related to the theme being researched. The results of this study show that the Semai Lino cultural house contributes to reviving weaving culture as well as becoming a narrative of women's identity in ikat weaving works. From a feminist theological perspective, the Semai Lino cultural house and weaving culture are a form of resistance by Lewokluok women against patriarchal cultural domination. Apart from that, the Semai Lino cultural house and weaving culture are a transformational movement towards a new civilization, namely the creation of equality between men and women.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the utilization of the Catholic-based application, namely e-Catholic, as a means of spiritual experience for young Catholic individuals in St. Fransiskus Xaverius Gandusari Parish. This research can provide benefits and serve as a source of information on the utilization of the e-Catholic application as a tool for spiritual experience. The data analysis technique used the qualitative research method. There are ten informants in this study, namely the Catholic Youth in St. Fransiskus Xaverius Gandusari Parish, Saint Peter and Paul Parish, Wlingi, Blitar. Informants were selected using purposive sampling techniques, in which the sampling was done by selecting those who are most knowledgeable about the utilization of the e-Catholic application. Data collection was conducted through structured interviews and documentation. The results of this research show that the use of Catholic-based applications, namely the e-Catholic application as a means of deepening faith, can help foster the Catholic faith, especially among the Catholic Youth. E-Catholic application can continue to update and add new features to support the deepening of faith among the Catholic Youth.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the efficacy of planning, implementing, supervising, and evaluating bilingual learning grades K-24 at Santa Theresia Catholic Elementary School Surabaya. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. There were 8 research informants, namely teachers of grades K-24 and principals at Santa Theresia Catholic Elementary School Surabaya. Researchers employed documentation, observation, interview, and data triangulation strategies in their data collection. The data analysis techniques used in the Miles and Huberman model are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of research through data triangulation show that: 1) Learning planning is an activity that must be designed by every teacher through work meetings, then planning learning bilingually, not forgetting parents in the involvement of learning preparation; 2) Teachers' execution of instruction is modified to align with the RPP model overall, which includes; introduction, core and closing. In the process of bilingual education, most K–24 students speak English fluently. There are obstacles in the bilingual learning process, namely internal factors and external factors; 3) Supervision is conducted to improve the quality of teachers' instruction; 4) Teachers evaluate students in the form of learning processes and learning outcomes. This includes her three domains: the cognitive domain, the psychomotor domain, and the affective domain.

Abstract

This research focuses on exploring and reflecting the Christocratic values of Jesus' royal leadership obtained through theological reflection on the dialogue between Jesus and Pilate in John 18:28 – 19: 16. The dialogue between Jesus and Pilate is part of the story of Jesus' passion and resurrection. This one chapter of Jesus' life is very important to see the religious aspects of Jesus' leadership. Christocracy itself is a system of leadership or government based on Christ as the Head of the Church. The methodology used in this research is a qualitative methodology. This methodology is carried out with interpretive analysis and theological reflection on the text John 18: 28-19: 26. Text interpretation, critical analysis and theological reflection are also supported by an in-depth study of literature related to the topic of Christocracy, the meaning of the Kingdom of Christ and the dialogue between Jesus and Pilate. This research found that based on John 18: 28-19: 16 the character of Christ's kingly leadership or christocracy is centered on Christ himself, comes from divine religious values, aims at witnessing the truth, is willing to suffer for the truth and continues to listen to Jesus as the Lord, The Truth Itself.

Abstract

Nowadays humans are increasingly worried about the increasingly serious condition of the earth due to pollution on land, sea and air as well as massive damage to forests, valleys, mountains, rice fields and springs. It is sure that natural conditions have a very dangerous impact on human lives. That is why the ecological crisis and the social crisis are two things that cannot be separated. In the face of the ecological crisis, the Church must provide a prophetic response. Ecopastoralism is one of the Church's responses to ecological problems. This research aims to explain ecopastoralism as a response to environmental problems in the Parish of St. Maximilianus Kolbe, Wukir. The method used in this research is a qualitative method and a case study approach to pastoral programs in the environmental sector and the concrete work of Wukir Parish people in the environmental sector. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis of various reports. The results of this research show that ecopastoralism in Wukir Parish is carried out with a basic pattern that refers to the duties of the Church, namely liturgy, kerygma, koinonia, and diakonia. The tasks of the Church are always connected with ecology in order to raise awareness among the people about the important role of the natural environment and other creations for human life in the world. Ecopastoralism in the Wukir parish contributes to strengthening the environmental Christian community. This community strives to live out an ecological perspective, develop ecological spirituality as an inner spirit to care for and preserve other creations, and culminates in ecopraxis, namely concrete actions in the environmental sector.

Abstract

Generation Z faces a number of challenges related to their Catholic faith amidst the dynamics of modernity and technological developments. The problem faced is the lack of active involvement in traditional religious practices. Generation Z is also faced with the challenge of understanding and identifying with their own Catholic beliefs. In the midst of advances in information and cultural plurality, generation Z is often exposed to various views and values ​​that conflict with the teachings of the Catholic religion. The aim of this research is to provide a descriptive analysis regarding the contextual implementation of Catholic religious education in the era of various challenges faced by generation Z. The implementation of Catholic Religious Education in the era of generation Z needs to be adapted to the unique dynamics and characteristics of generation Z. The relevant approach that can be applied is integrating technology and digital media into learning. A collaborative and participatory learning approach will be more effective in reaching generation Z. Teachers can encourage open discussion and reflection on Catholic religious concepts, as well as encourage students to share their own views and experiences. Catholic religious educators need to emphasize the relevance and applicability of Catholic religious teachings in everyday life.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the spiritual values of Saint Tarcisius and the spiritual values of altar servers in the Saint John the Evangelist Mandala Parish. Altar servers are Catholic teenagers who demonstrate high dedication in serving the Church and assisting priests during the Eucharistic Celebration without expecting any reward. The spiritual values held by the altar servers include serving with love and selflessness, humility, and being responsible for the entrusted tasks. This study employs a qualitative approach. The research location is in the Saint John the Evangelist Mandala Parish. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data collected from the field will be analyzed by reducing, displaying, and triangulating the data using both techniques and sources. The data collection technique used is snowball sampling. The informants in the study consist of 10 people: 7 altar servers, 2 altar server supervisors, and 1 parish priest. The results of the study show that altar servers embody the spiritual values of Saint Tarcisius and their own spiritual values in their service duties.

Abstract

Spiritual character education is a crucial aspect of holistic education for Christian students. Pastoral learning media can be an effective means of cultivating spiritual character. These media are designed to help students know God, love others, and develop their potential based on Christian values. This article aims to explain how pastoral learning media can be utilized as a tool to shape the spiritual character of Christian students. Pastoral learning media encompasses various forms such as books, videos, audio, songs, drama, and other media that suit the context and needs of students. The methodology used in this article is a literature review that examines the principles of designing, implementing, and evaluating pastoral learning media. The article also outlines practical steps in the design, implementation, and evaluation of these media. It is hoped that this article will contribute significantly to the development of spiritual character education in Christian schools and colleges. By utilizing appropriate pastoral learning media, Christian students can be prepared to become individuals of strong faith, noble character, and ready to serve the church and nation.

Abstract

This article aims to explore the essence of diaconal ministry, which constitutes a crucial dimension of church life. The attitudes and actions demonstrated by Jesus in the account of the multiplication of bread in John 6:1-15 provide insightful inspiration for how the church can embody diaconal ministry. In the sign of the multiplication of bread, Jesus not only takes the initiative to feed the multitude following Him, but also acts as a servant, distributing the bread of life to them, and at the same time, He transforms them into a new community in Him. An analysis of Jesus’ actions reveals that the church’s diaconal ministry must begin with attentiveness to people’s needs, followed by gathering, feeding (Word and Eucharist), and transforming them. To uncover the depth of this message, this study employs a synchronic analysis using actantial schemes and examines the characteristics of Jesus’ actions toward the crowd during the multiplication of bread. Through a narrative analysis of John 6:1-15, several theological insights will be drawn for a contextual approach to diaconal ministry.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility of Pop-up Book as a Bible story media based on the blibical story about creation for children faith formation. The development of media story based on the Pop-up Book Bible story was motivated by the need of a creative media to teach the Word of God for the Catholic children faith formation. This research applied the research and development method referring to the Borg and Gall’s model through ten steps, namely research and data collection, planning, product draft development, limited trial, product revision stage, extensive trial stage, operational product revision, operational trial, final product revision, dissemination, and implementation. Research data was collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires. The targets of the research were children at 7-12 years old belong to Mater Dei Parish, Madiun, and Saint Hilarius Parish, Klepu. The study showed that the results of assessment conducted by material experts, and media practitioners, as well as the positive responses of the children during the field trials on the Pop-up Book as a Bible story media based on the blibical story about creation for children faith formation was graded “Very Good”, and then can be applied in the Catholic children faith formation activities.
