Abstract

This study aims to answer research problems regarding development of students' spiritual intelligence through the learning process of christian religious education at Budi Murni 2 Medan Catholic Private Senior High School.This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Researchers conducted research at Budi Murni 2 Medan Catholic Private Senior High School from March to April 2023. The research subjects are selected by purposive sampling. The informants identified in this study are 11 people, namely the vice principal, religion teacher, and 9 students. Data analysis is carried out by means of data reduction, data presentation, and research conclusions.The results of the study show that the development of students' spiritual intelligence is carried out by the teacher through the role of the religious teacher as a good spiritual shepherd for students, helping students fulfill their life mission, inviting students to read the scriptures, involving students in religious activities. Aspects of spiritual intelligence include self-awareness, spontaneity, caring, celebrating diversity, the ability to reframe, and humility

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the project of Strengthening the Profile of Pancasila Students (P5), the role of teachers in improving P5, and the characters developed in P5 implemented by PPG-STPKat students of St. Francis Asisi Semarang. The mixed method research design was used. The probability sampling technique was used to select 14 schools for the research population. Quantitative data was collected through questionnaires assessing the implementation of the P5 project and the role of teachers and analyzed using ANOVA Linearity, Linear Regression, and the F Test. Interviews were used to collect qualitative data, which was then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the simultaneous implementation of the P5 project and the role of the teacher had a high effect on student character building (99.1%). The linearity test revealed a linear relationship between P5 project implementation and learner character, with a significance value (p) of 0.000 0.05. P5 has been implemented in elementary schools, and teachers serve as role models, motivators, inspirers, and evaluators, according to qualitative findings. Students' Pancasila character profile depicts a character of faith, piety to God Almighty, and noble character. Positive aspects of mutual cooperation included improved collaboration skills and various aspects of mutual cooperation. This study's recommendations include increasing the number of meeting hours, involving a team of facilitators, and ensuring school readiness. Students must be encouraged to participate actively in the P5 project and to develop the Pancasila learner profile attitude.

Abstract

The Young Catholics (OMK) are individuals born and raised within the Catholic tradition from adolescence to early adulthood. Young people often undergo critical identity and faith development during this phase. OMK currently faces challenges and changes in an increasingly complex and dynamic world. Globalisation, technology, and social changes influence their perspectives on their faith values. The objective of this service is to provide spiritual guidance to OMK, enabling them to understand better and embrace their faith. Activities are conducted through lectures and materials on the Catholic faith, interspersed with games, group dynamics, songs and movements, and practical worship practices. The method used in analysing the results of this CommunityService is qualitative. The outcomes obtained reveal that through the service conducted, OMK has gained additional knowledge and understanding of the values of the Catholic faith.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi pembentukan karakter tanggung jawab peserta didik kelas VIII melalui metode diskusi dalam pembelajaran agama Katolik. Dalam pendidikan, tugas Guru Agama Katolik adalah melibatkan dan bekerjasama dengan seluruh bagian sekolah. Seorang guru PAK bukan hanya dituntut sekedar bisa menguasai materi pengajaran dari mata pelajaran Agama Katolik namun ia juga harus bisa menjadi sosok pribadi yang baik dan berkarakter kuat sehingga bisa menjadi teladan bagi para peserta didik di sekolah tempat dimana ia mengajar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan ini adalah metode kualitatif, karena permasalahan berhubungan dengan manusia yang secara fundamental bergantung pada pengamatan. Sumber data yang ditentukan oleh peneliti, diharapkan mampu mengetahui situasi penelitian. Sumber data tersebut dimanfaatkan untuk memberikan informasi berdasarkan pengalaman tentang situasi dan kondisi di lokasi penelitian. Teknik penentuan sumber data dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan menggunakan teknik snowball sampling. Snowball sampling merupakan teknik pengambilan sampel sumber data yang pada awalnya jumlahnya sedikit, lama-lama menjadi besar sampai data jenuh ditemukan. Dalam hal ini peneliti telah menentukan informan utama lalu mencari informan yang saling berkaitan dengan topik yang diteliti. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, maka penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa karakter tanggung jawab peserta didik di SMP Negeri 2 Namorambe sudah baik hal ini sesuai dengan enam indikator karakter tanggung jawab yaitu kontrol diri, memiliki sikap mandiri, memiliki sikap positif, melakukan kewajiban, Tekun, dan menepati janji. Peserta didik juga sudah mampu melakukan setiap tugasnya dengan baik tanpa harus disuruh. Pembentukan karakter tanggung jawab peserta didik kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 2 Namorambe dapat dilakukan melalui metode diskusi. Metode diskusi bermanfaat dalam meningkatakan karakter tanggung jawab peserta didik karena melalui metode diskusi peserta didik akan dirangsang untuk memecahkan suatu masalah di dalam kelompok. Dalam kelompok masing-masing peserta didik bertanggung jawab akan tugas yang sudah dipercayakan kepada mereka. Melalui metode diskusi yang ada dalam kelompok segala keputusan dan juga pendapat dari masing-masing peserta didik bisa dipertanggung jawabkan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi media visual dalam Pendidikan Agama Katolik dan mengetahui minat belajar peserta didik di sekolah menengah atas RK Delimurni Diski Kelas XI. Adapun yang melatar belakangi penulisan penelitian ini karena guru masih banyak guru mengajar dengan metode cerita sehingga pembelajaran menjadi membosankan dan peserta didik kurang memiliki minat belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian yang dilakukan oleh peneliti berupa observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Adapun yang menjadi sasaran penelitian adalah Guru Agama Katolik dan peserta didik di Sekolah Menengah Atas RK Delimurni Diski. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertama, implementasi Media Visual di Sekolah Menengah Atas RK Deli Murni Diski, sudah diterapkan dalam proses pembelajaran terlihat guru menggunakan berbagai macam jenis media visual khususnya media gambar, dan power point. Namun belum sepenuhnya guru mengetahui jenis media visual. Kedua, penggunaan media visual dapat menumbuhkan minat belajar peserta didik terlihat ketika guru mampu melibatkan peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan Peran Guru Pendidikan agama Katolik meningkatkan nilai moral peserta didik kelas XI di Sekolah Menengah Atas Swasta Katolik 2 Kabanjahe. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adanya guru PAK yang belum memahami seutuhnya perannya sebagai tokoh dalam meningkatkan nilai moral siswa seiring perkembangan zaman. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif, data diperoleh dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Sasaran penelitian adalah Guru pendidikan agama Katolik dan peserta didik di Sekolah Menengah Atas Swasta Katolik 2 Kabanjahe. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Guru Agama Katolik sudah melaksanakan tugasnya sebaik mungkin dengan meningkatkan nilai moral peserta didik dan peserta didik memiliki moral yang baik. Guru berperan sebagai model, teladan, pendidik dan gembala. Nilai moral yang dimiliki peserta didik ialah religius, jujur, tanggung jawab, disiplin, dan mandiri.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai moral peserta didik dan peran guru pendidikan agama katolik dalam menumbuhkan nilai moral peserta didik.  Nilai moral peserta didik yaitu: jujur, disiplin, bertanggung jawab dan kemandirian. Peran guru pendidikan agama katolik yaitu: sebagai model dan teladan, sebagai pendidik dan sebagai gembala. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi serta informan peneliti terdiri atas guru pendidikan agama katolik, guru sejawat dan peserta didik dengan kunci instrumen peneliti sendiri. Data yang sudah terkumpul dari lapangan akan dianalisis dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan cara mereduksi, menyusun display data dan menyimpulkan data penelitian. Mengukur keabsahan data penelitian maka peneliti melakukan triangulasi baik teknik dan sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran guru pendidikan agama katolik berpengaruh baik dalam menumbuhkan nilai moral peserta didik. Guru pendidikan agama katolik telah menerapkan peran seperti model dan teladan, pendidik, dan gembala yang mampu menumbuhkan nilai moral peserta didik, sehingga nilai moral peserta didik di kelas XI telah meningkat dan diterapkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

The main issue in the process of Catholic Religious Education (PAK) learning at St. Antonius Bangun Mulia Catholic School in Medan is the suboptimal achievement of student learning outcomes. This is caused by the frequent use of lectures and assignments by PAK teachers. The dominance of such methods leads to boredom and disinterest among students in participating in the learning process. Another issue is the lack of creativity among PAK teachers in finding and implementing alternative teaching methods that can motivate students to engage in PAK learning. In response to these situations, the AMOS method can be used as an alternative method for PAK learning with the aim of improving student learning outcomes. The research subjects in this study were 22 fourth-grade students. The data for this research were obtained from observing the activities of the students and conducting final tests in each cycle. The research data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The results of the study show that the application of the AMOS method can improve student learning outcomes. In the pre-cycle, the percentage of students who completed their learning was 18.18%, while those who did not complete it were 81.82%. In cycle 1, 94.46% of students completed their learning, while 5.54% did not. In cycle 2, 100% of students completed their learning. Based on these research findings, it can be concluded that the use of the AMOS method can improve the learning achievement of fourth-grade students at St. Antonius Bangun Mulia Catholic Elementary School in Medan.

Abstract

This article aims to understand the level of involvement of Catholic youth in the field of koinonia and to formulate strategies to increase their participation. Catholic youth, aged between 13 and 35 years and unmarried, play a crucial role in the development of the Catholic Church and are responsible for the sanctification of life and active participation in fellowship. However, the phenomenon shows that many young Catholics are losing interest in church activities and tend to be more attracted to worldly activities than spiritual ones. This creates a challenge in maintaining their engagement in the field of koinonia (fellowship). In this article, the author employs a qualitative approach, reviewing books and journals to elaborate on the content to be discussed. The results of this research indicate that the presence of Catholic youth in koinonia activities is very minimal, though their involvement in each activity is already active. Therefore, Catholic youth still need encouragement to increase their attendance in every Introduction group prayer activity, recollection, liturgical celebration, catechesis, and leadership training.

Abstract

The life of prayer within Catholic families is of paramount importance in strengthening spirituality and familial bonds while nurturing faith values. Document Familiaris Consortio No. 59-62 serves as a primary guideline in understanding Catholic family prayer practices. This research explores the implementation of prayer life in St. Agata Sitaretareon Station, Parish of St. Michael Pangururan, utilizing qualitative research methods. The findings indicate that basic prayer practices, devotions, and daily prayers serve as crucial foundations in the spiritual life of Catholic families. Parents play a central role as the primary instigators of prayer, despite facing challenges such as children's indifference. Families actively engage in both liturgical and personal prayers, demonstrating their commitment to deepening their faith and relationship with God. These prayer practices bring about peace, harmony, and gratitude in the daily lives of Catholic families in St. Agata Sitaretareon Station, serving as tangible evidence of lived faith enriching spirituality and strengthening the faith community in the pursuit of spiritual well-being. Thus, the prayer life within Catholic families in St. Agata Sitaretareon Station, Parish of St. Michael Pangururan, has been effectively carried out, with each family member participating in communal prayer in their daily lives.
