Abstract

Background: East Manggarai is one of the District in East Nusa Tenggara Province with a high transmission area and a high number of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever cases. Spatial analysis can provide spatial information related to the distribution pattern of DHF. Purpose: To spatially analyze the cases of DHF in East Manggarai District in 2021. Methods: This study used a descriptive survey method with a case study design sampling technique, Purposive sampling approach used a sample size of 103 cases. Data processing and spatial data analysis use Quantum Geographic Information Systems software with Nearest Neighbor Analysis and buffer analysis to describe the distribution of cases based on population density, House Index, Container Index, and Buffer Zone. Results: Spatial analysis using QGIS showed that the Nearest Neighbor Index was 0.323 < 1, and the CI value was 34.7, the HI value was 54 while the buffer zone showed the tendency for dengue transmission to occur in most cases within a radius of 100 meters.  Conclusion: The pattern of DHF transmission is clustered, the sub-districts of Borong, Rana Mese, and Komba became the sources of DHF transmission where Container Index and House Index were classified as high categories, and population density was classified as high and low categories. Preventive action such as eliminating mosquito breeding areas were essential.

Conditions from the pandemic also have an impact on various sectors, for example Integrated Services Post. Purpose: To analyze relationship between anxiety mothers and participation Integrated Services Post during pandemic COVID-19. Methods: This study was a literature review approach (literature review) by a narrative literature review which discusses the relationship between maternal anxiety and participation in the Integrated Services Post under five during the COVID-19 pandemic. The data source used secondary data in the form of journal-based articles obtained through the Google Scholar database. The inclusion criteria of this research were the year of publication in the range of 2020 to 2022, publication in Indonesian and English, and original research and full text. Results: All of the entire literature can prove that there was an association between maternal anxiety and participation in the Integrated Services Post under five during the COVID-19 pandemic. Maternal anxiety was caused by factors of community attitudes and the surrounding environment. Conclusion: The concern that occurs in mothers is caused by fear if the child or himself is exposed to Covid-19 during a visit to the Integrated Services Post, because even though they have implemented health protocols, the attitude of other visitors who do not comply with health protocols makes them feel unsafe.

Abstract

Background: Disability among the geriatric population is a major health issue. Assessment of disability among the elderly population is useful in terms of identifying the needs, setting priorities, and allocating resources. Purpose: To assess the disability level among the geriatric population and to identify factors associated with disability. Methods: Used prevalence study among 384 participants in the age group between 60 and 80 years. Eligible households for interview were selected using systematic random sampling (every 5th household). Trained interviewers carried out the study by direct interviews at the individuals' residences using the WHODAS 2.0 questionnaire. Individuals with normal cognitive status (abbreviated mental test score >6) were included in the study. In determining the overall level of disability, the International Classification of Functioning scale were used: extreme disability (96 to 100%), severe disability (50 to 95%), moderate disability (25 to 49%), mild disability (5 to 24%) and no disability (0 to 4%). Results: Around 32.8% of the study population reported no disability, 40.9% disability was reported by most, and moderate level of disability 24.0%. Analysis of the factors associated with disability level showed the existence of significant relationships between disability score >24 and factors like age, marital status, family type, living arrangement and, physical activity of more than 150 hours per week. Conclusion: Higher disability rate was noted among the elderly in the study population. Increasing age, single member /nuclear family, divorced/widowed individuals, and inadequate physical activity were the factors significantly associated with increasing disability level.
