Abstract

The double burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) since the beginning of 2020 in Indonesia has put adolescents at risk of developing hypertension. The purpose of this community engagement is to promote the eagerness and ability of adolescents to prevent hypertension from an early age, as we observed the increasing self-efficacy and hypertension prevention practices. The health promotion program was carried out at Darul Ilmi Middle School, Depok combining offline and online activities with as many as seven sessions with the involvement of the school authorities. A total of 68 students were included in this program. The results of this Health Promotion Program were: the release of the School Internal Supervisory Team Certificate for the implementation of health promotion activities to prevent hypertension risk factors; health promotion videos that can be used as media for health promotion activities to prevent hypertension risk factors; hypertension screening amongst the 68 students showed that 5.9% had blood pressure 140/90 mmHg; increasing adolescent self-efficacy of 61.76% and adolescent hypertension prevention practices of 60.29% after the implementation of 7 sessions of health promotion program to prevent hypertension risk factors. School involvement strengthens the implementation of health promotion programs for adolescents.

Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is still a public health problem in urban and semi-urban areas. DHF can carry the risk of death, and disturb the public because of its very fast spread. The main cause of DHF is the female mosquito of the Aedes aegypti type. The purpose of this activity is to provide knowledge and understanding of the community about the dengue outbreak in the Besar Urban Village area as well as to provide knowledge and understanding of the community about dengue prevention in the area. the community service method is carried out in several stages of activity. Starting with the Self-Inspection Survey (SMD), distributing the Self-Inspection questionnaire to sub-districts 2, 3, 4, and 5 which was confirmed by the lurah. Next, conduct a village meeting to determine the priority of the problem and the last intervention activity. Based on the results of the analysis, it was shown that there was an increase in the knowledge of residents about Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) from before the activity was carried out. Where the increase in knowledge from the pretest and posttest scores affects outreach activities, providing mosquito repellent (Abate & Soffel), and cooperation.

Abstract

Currently, there is an increasing demand of the community for the implementation of good and clean government (Good Govermance and Clean Government). Badung Regency Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2014 concerning the Implementation of Manpower Services as follows: That in line with the spirit of autonomy and mandatory affairs that must be carried out by local governments, by taking into account Law Number 32 of 2004 concerning Regional Government, local governments are given the authority to determine policies for determination and backing in various fields, one of which is the field of manpower. As an effort to provide labor services that are the authority and task of the government, training, and productivity, placement, coaching, supervision and protection of workers, are strategic steps in overcoming labor problems. Therefore, it is necessary to have a training mechanism, and the productivity, placement, coaching, supervision and protection of workers so that services to the community are faster and more appropriate in accordance with the spirit of regional autonomy. The job training program organized by the Badung Regency Manpower Office is a program that aims to improve the competence of Human Resources. The Badung Regency Government is committed so that people who take part in this job training program can open their businesses independently or get jobs according to their expertise so that this can reduce unemployment in Badung Regency. The purpose of this study is to determine the implementation of job training and the factors that hinder the successful implementation of job training programs in Badung Regency. The method in this study uses a descriptive qualitative method. The theoretical concept used in this study is Edward III's theory, namely 1) communication, 2) resources, 3) disposition, and 4) bureaucratic structure. The results of this study show that the implementation of the job training program has not been said to be optimal, namely from communication criteria and resources. In its implementation, there are still obstacles that occur such as 1) lack of instructors, 2) references to job training centers that are still small, and 3) budget constraints in the implementation of job training.

Abstract

The empirical problem in assisting the preparation of Academic Papers and the Draft of Special Regional Regulations for the Province of West Papua is that there is no synchronization between previous and current legislation regarding sustainable development. Specifically, in West Papua Province, sustainable development is based on the view that natural resources have a limited capacity to accept the impact of human activities. The objectives of this mentoring activity are (1) to develop a framework for academic texts as the main umbrella for the draft of special regional regulations; (2) to draft a special regional regulation on Sustainable Development in the Province of West Papua; (3) evaluate the implementation of Perdasus No. 10 of 2019 concerning Sustainable Development in West Papua Province; and (4) propose new articles (inserts) as a form of an amendment to the existing special regional regulations. The output of this strengthening activity is expected to contribute to harmonizing, regulating, limiting, considering, and covering the scope of special regional regulations related to Sustainable Development in West Papua Province. Participants in the mentoring activity consisted of (1) Provincial Government Elements, (2) Universities, (3) Customary Institutions, (4) Technical Regional Apparatus Organizations, and (5) Members of the DPR and MRP West Papua, totaling 75 people. This mentoring activity resulted in: (1) changes to the provisions of Articles I and II norms, and (2) Insertions of Articles 5, 6A, 26A, and 49A.

Abstract

The millennial era has an impact that is digitally laden with the development of technology and information, so it needs to be utilized in improving self-ability and community empowerment. One of the efforts is to use an android application, Land Calculator to support community needs related to determining the boundaries of community-owned areas. Most people do not understand the use of this application. The purpose of the service in Hative village is to improve the ability and skills of the community in utilizing the Land Calculator application to obtain certainty about the boundaries of community-owned areas. The target subjects are heads of families who are domiciled in Hative village. The method used is direct learning through lectures and the practice of using the Land Calculator application in community-owned areas. The lectures were carried out with the intention that the public had initial knowledge about the Land Calculator application. After that, it was continued with mentoring during practice at community locations. The process of operating the Land Calculator application goes well. The results achieved show that there is a change in the level of understanding and enthusiasm among PKM participants. This is realized through the ability to independently use the Land Calculator application without having to be accompanied by a resource person.

Abstract

Rice is one food crop that has a role in increasing food security. The advantages of rice farming can be obtained by implementing proper management and efficient use of production factors. Gebang is one of the villages in Patrang District, Jember Regency, which has an active and sustainable farmer group for rice farming accompanied by Field Agricultural Extension Officers (PPL). However, during the assistance, the farmer group has never been directed to calculate profits systematically, so it is unknown whether the rice farming carried out is profitable. The farmer group in discussion is the Tunggul Farmer Group member of the Sahabat Farmers Group Association (Gapoktan). The model of this service activity is counseling and assistance in farming bookkeeping. They carried out the service activity in one of the houses of members of the farmer group, namely Mr. Hanan on Teratai Street, Gebang Village, Patrang District, Jember Regency. The participants who attended were 21 people and enthusiastically participated in the counseling. The outreach activities ran smoothly throughout the event. Farmer group members are encouraged to keep books related to their farm income and expenses. This habit is expected during mentoring. The extension material delivered includes the purpose of bookkeeping or recording farming and how to calculate revenue, costs, and profits.

Abstract

Vegetables are a general term for plant foods that usually contain high water content, vegetables are very beneficial for health, development and growth, especially consumed for children, especially elementary school age who are still in the period of development and growth, the nutrients contained in vegetables are: Fiber is needed by our body for metabolic processes. In addition to fiber, vegetables also contain vitamins needed to prevent various diseases such as night blindness (lack of vitamin A), beriberi (lack of vitamin B), canker sores (lack of vitamin C), and others. For this reason, socialization of vegetable cultivation is carried out so that students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Ikhlas know and understand the meaning of vegetables, types of vegetables, benefits and content contained in vegetables, the impact of not consuming vegetables, and how to grow vegetables properly and correctly. The method used in the PKM program at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Ikhlas in Sidomulyo Hamlet is to increase students' knowledge of the importance of consuming vegetables, carried out by the lecture method, namely by providing an explanation accompanied by material that has been prepared previously in the form of power points, the discussion method is question and answer between the presenters and students about the material that has been delivered, and the training method is the practice of how to grow vegetables from preparing planting media, selecting seeds, nursery, and planting. The results of the socialization activities were that students were very enthusiastic about participating in the socialization and listening and paying close attention when the service team delivered material to practice vegetable cultivation methods.

Abstract

Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) is a pandemic because all countries in the world have been affected by this outbreak so it has an impact on various aspects of life such as the economy, health, and education. Five-finger hypnosis is a form of self-hypnosis that can cause a high relaxation effect that will reduce tension and anxiety in a person's mind so that it affects the production of hormones that can spur the onset of anxiety. Schoolchildren have never had Five-finger Hypnosis Therapy at school, Covid 19 conditions schoolchildren learn online and only focus on subjects. The new normal condition of learning time alternately some enter the morning and some enter the afternoon, if not given Five finger Hypnosis Therapy then the child is less able to face anxiety. The main problem faced by partners is SDN 43 Pekanbaru, namely that its students have never been given five-finger hypnosis therapy, so five-finger hypnosis therapy will be carried out in the face of anxiety in school children. Before and after the activity, an assessment of the initial and final abilities of the participants will be carried out, so that from this activity a measurable increase in knowledge will be obtained. The majority of respondents with moderate anxiety were 33 respondents (57.9 %). the majority of respondents with moderate anxiety were 31 respondents (54.4 %). there is an influence of PKM Five Finger Hypnosis Therapy in Dealing with Anxiety in Elementary School Children at SD Negeri 43 Pekanbaru on pre-test and post-test.

Abstract

These community service activities are carried out to become a forum for students to understand the potential possessed by each student so, they will be able to prepare themselves for entering the world of work. Students are demand not just to know theoretical abilities but can also to be more flexible and have a broader insight so that they will be able to solve a problem. In the era of all digital and information disclosure, all institutions are asked to be able to provide information services that are fast, precise, transparent, and responsible to the community. People no longer use conventional media because most of them have accessed the internet. For this reason, there has been a decline in radio consumers. This is certainly a challenge for institutions that carry out their role as information distribution media, especially in conventional radio media. In the step of the advances in information and technology, there has appeared convergence in the media. By integrating conventional mass media with new media, it will be possible to expand the network, audience, and, an interaction that arises.

Abstract

A solid team supports the successful development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. For this reason, Community Service is carried out with the aim that business actors can form creative and efficient teams. This activity was carried out in the Diploma Program of the Bina Amanah Cordova School of Entrepreneurship with students as participants. The method used is counseling and training, which is carried out using a two-way system, namely through the provision of material followed by discussion. The activity went smoothly and was successful because it was to the agenda that had been set. This Community Service increases the knowledge and skills of partners in forming creative and efficient teams. After participating in the activity, partners can create several strategy models and perform simulations to form a solid team. Partners and various related parties contribute by providing input so that this activity can be carried out continuously by increasing the duration of the time, but the material provided is by the case that is currently trending and adapted to the needs of its partners.
