Abstract

Background: Families often get burdened by the behavioral and emotional changes of schizophrenic patients. This burden is impacting family functions. The function of the family as a caregiver for people with schizophrenia includes problem-solving, communication, roles in the family, affective responses, behavioral control, and general family functions. Disturbed family functions can increase the burden on the caregiver; this has an impact on the psychological well- being of the family caregiver. Purpose: Analyzing the relationship between family function and psychological well-being among caregiver of schizophrenia patients in Menur Mental Hospital Jawa Timur. Methods: This study used the Analytical Observational design with a Cross-Sectional approach with a population of 264 respondents from families who nursed their family members with schizophrenia. The sampling technique used was Simple Random Sampling and used 160 samples that met the inclusion criteria. This study used the Family Assessment Device (FAD) and the Ryff Psychological Wellbeing Scale (RPWS) questionnaire, and data analysis used the Spearman Rho Correlation Test with a significance of (?<0.05). Result: The results showed that most of the family functions were in the high category, with 86 respondents (53.8%), and most of the psychological well- being was also in the high category, with 75 respondents (46.9%). Statistical tests that used the Spearman Rho test obtained the results of = 0.012, which means the correlation results are very low. Conclusion: This shows that the value of 0.05 indicates a connection between family functions and the psychological well-being of caregivers of schizophrenia patients at Menur Psychiatric Hospital, East Java Provincial Government. Based on the study’s results, family functions and psychological well-being significantly affect the patient’s recovery.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Stroke is a cerebrovascular disease that causes sudden death. The blockage causes a lack of oxygen supply which can cause rupture of the arteries to the brain and death of the cells. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected stroke care through various aspects, many of which are associated with neurological symptoms and complications that occur due to delays in treatment. Therefore, the application of telerehabilitation can help support and care for patients with stroke by reducing the risk of transmission of COVID-19. Purpose: The aim of this study was to analyse the application of telerehabilitation to post-stroke patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: The research method is in the form of a literature study with literature search using an online database, namely PubMed, Medline, and Google scholar with a range year of 2019 to 2021. The number of articles found was 889 articles with four papers that met the inclusion criteria. Results: The results of this study indicate that telerehabilitation is effective for stroke patients, but providing telerehabilitation must pay attention to the patient's and family's ability to use digital technology, the ability to understand rehabilitation programs, and also various aspects such as functional status: direct motor skills involving the upper extremities, balance, cardiorespiratory fitness, cognitive function, and the level of acceptance and eligibility of teletherapy by users (patients/families) at home so that the therapy program can run optimally. Conclusion: Telerehabilitation is effectively implemented in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic because it can provide support and help patients, families, and health services in providing care for stroke patients while reducing the risk of transmission of COVID-19. Background: Negative coping for generation Z causes psychosocial problems. One of these problems is the lack of mental health self-care and one of the deficiencies of these factors is socio-cultural problems. The Mataraman ethnic group is the largest ethnic group in East Java. With the largest population of Generation Z, this ethnicity is always guided by the culture and values ??of that ethnicity. Objective: to analyze socio-cultural relations with mental health self-care for the Mataraman ethnic group. Method: the research design used is an analytical survey and a cross sectional approach. The sample technique used was purposive sampling with a total sample of 420 generation Z of Mataraman ethnicity. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires with Googleform and the media used were WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok and Instragram groups. The test used is the person correlation test. The instruments used were the Cultural Connected Scale-California (CCS-CA) for socio-cultural variables and the Mindful Self Care Scale (MSCS) for mental health self-care variables. Results: The most common socio-cultural variable for generation Z of Mataraman ethnicity was tradition (Mean ± SD; 49.89 ± 6.87), while in the mental health self-care variable the largest average was physical care (Mean ± SD; 21.89 ± 4 .63), and the value of the relationship between the two variables is a p value of 0.000 while the person test value is 0.29. Conclusion: there is a relationship between socio-culture and mental health self-care in generation Z of Mataraman ethnicity, but these two variables have a weak relationship. So that suggestions for subsequent research can be analyzed related to other factors such as perceptions and beliefs. As well as carrying out mental health nursing interventions with cultural sensitivity.

Abstract

Background: Recovery of heart function is an important condition in the process of healing and rehabilitation of patients after valve surgery to return to normal function. After surgery, patients are often immobile due to possible postoperative complications and activity restrictions, so that the patient's physical capacity is at risk of decreasing. Purpose: The aim of this study was to find out the application of Orem's self-care theory to patients after mitral valve surgery. Method: The design in this study uses the case study method. This study focuses on nursing care which emphasizes the use of Orem's self-care theory in practice. The subject in this study was one postoperative mitral valve patient who was treated in the postoperative unit with an implementation time of seven days. Results: In the results of applying Orem's self-care theory, five main nursing diagnoses were found. Most of the nursing problems are rooted in problems with decreased cardiac output due to post-surgical complications, but the complications are gradually improving. The application of Orem's self-care theory provides a systematic pattern of thinking in determining diagnoses and nursing interventions that must be carried out by nurses. Conclusion: The application of Orem's self-care model appears to have an effect on the nursing process, specifically in postoperative mitral valve cases in identifying problems in fulfilling self-care. The application of this model can provide benefits in encouraging patients to carry out activities that are in accordance with the patient's abilities and tolerance.
