Jurnal El-'Umdah ini merupakan jurnal yang fokus pada kajian ilmu al-Qur’an dan tafsir jurnal ini didesain untuk memberikan ruang dan mendialogkan dengan ilmu-ilmu yang lain yang sejalan dengan desain keilmuan UIN Mataram. Jurnal ini merupakan jurnal yang dimiliki oleh jurusan Ilmu al-Qur’an dan Tasir fakultas Ushuluddin dan Studi Agama. Bagi para peneliti, dosen, mahasiswa, praktisi dan sebagainya yang mempunyai latar belakang keilmuan ini bisa memberikan kontribusi terhadap jurnal ini untuk pengembangan keilmuan. Abstract

Recently, Israel has become a major topic of public discussion due to the renewed conflict with Palestine that has been ongoing for approximately 76 years. The Qur'an, as the holy book of Islam, mentions the words "Jews" and "Israel" in numerous verses and chapters. As one of the many subjects addressed in the Qur'an, the terms "Jews" and "Israel" form an inseparable unity, even though they have distinct and different meanings. In this paper, Hamka's Tafsir Al-Azhar serves as the primary reference for examining the terms "Jews" and "Israel" in the Qur'an. In line with Tafsir Al-Azhar as the reference, this paper specifically aims to answer three questions: (1) What are the differences between the terms "Jews" and "Israel" in Tafsir Al-Azhar? (2) How does Hamka describe the characteristics of the verses regarding Jews and Israel in Tafsir Al-Azhar? (3) How do the terms "Jews" and "Israel" in Tafsir Al-Azhar relate to recent phenomena? This research is a library study, employing thematic methods. The primary data source is Hamka's Tafsir Al-Azhar, while secondary sources include books, journals, videos, and discourses related to the topic. The research concludes that the term "Jews" is mentioned nine times in the Qur'an. The characteristics of the Jews in Tafsir Al-Azhar include claiming to be the children and beloved of Allah, lying about Allah, believing they are the most righteous, altering the scriptures, demeaning other nations, and hating Muslims. "Israel" is mentioned 42 times in the Qur'an. The characteristics of Israel in Tafsir Al-Azhar include being granted many blessings by Allah, the covenant between Israel and Allah, Israel with the prophets, Israel and Pharaoh, and the traits and behaviors of Israel within society.

Abstract

UIN Mataram mempunyai visi dan misi dalam mencetak lulusanya. Sebagaimana visi uin mataram yakni berdaya saing internasional dengan integrasi keilmuan dalam membangun masyarakat yang shaleh, moderat, cerdas dan unggul. Adaya kemoderatan itu telah ditunjukkan dalam visi uin mataram sehingga perlu adanya penguatan dan pengintegrasian keilmuan. Melalui penelitian ini peneliti mengidentifikasi pemahaman moderasi beragama di kalangan mahasiswa baru prodi IQT FUSA UIN mataram. Maka perlu pemahaman kepada mahasiswa baru mengenai moderasi beragama karena masih banyak mahasiswa baru yang belum mengetahui apa itu moderasi beragama bahkan ada yang baru dengar istilah moderasi beragama di kampus. Dengan adanya itu peneliti mencoba untuk menguatkan konsep moderasi beragama kepada mahasiswa baru prodi IQT khususnya karena prodi ini lebih sangat bisa menggunakan dalil-dalil dalam beragama. Sehingga pentingnya moderasi beragama ini untuk mengurai problematika intoleransi secara umum. Permasalahan yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini adalah 1) Bagaimana pemahaman mahasiswa semester awal T.A. 2022/2023 IQT FUSA terhadap konsep moderasi beragama?, 2) Bagaimana sikap mahasiswa semester awal T.A. 2022/2023  IQT FUSA terhadap keberagaman. Hasil dari penelitian ini bahwa pemahaman tentan moderasi agama bagi mahasiswa awal belum sepenuhnya memahaminya namun dalam sikap atau tindakan dalam fenomen keberagamaan rata-rata mahasiswa bisa toleransi dan peran mahasiswa di sini adalah agen perubahan dalam kebaikan serta membangun moderasi beragama di tengah-tengah masyarakat yang multikultural.

Abstract

Diskursus terkait paradigma interpetasi al-Qur’an baik pada aspek pendekatan dan metodologi sangat penting dilakukan seiring dinamika zaman yang menuntut untuk melakukan ijtihad intlektual dengan memperkaya khazanah keilmuan lebih khusus pada seputar paradigma metodologi kajian tafsir al-Qur’an. sebagaimana diketahui bahwa tafsir secara sederhana merupakan menjelaskan nash-nash al-Qur’an, namun demikian, belakangan ini konsep tafsir bukan hanya menjelaskan teks, namun bagiamana tafsir al-Qur’an sebagai solusi sehingga mampu menjawab berbagai persoalan umat yang dihadapi zaman sekarang, sehingga jargon yang dilontarkan oleh pemikiran Islam adalah mengkaji al-Qur’an sesuai dengan waktu dan tempat (shalihun likulli zaman wa makan). Paradigm epistemologi tafsir telah terjadi pergeseran baik pada klasik-pertengahan, hingga modern-kontemporer, sehingga isu saat ini yang menarik dalam kajian tafsir adalah berkembangnya kajian tafsir berbasis era digital. Sebagai kegelisahan akademik, Fokus penelitian ini menjawab beberapa hal-hal penting dalam mengkaji tafsir era digital yaitu, Pertama, Bagaiaman konsep tafsir di era digital, Kedua, bagaimana model-model pendekatan dalam tafsir era digital. Artikel ini menggunakan library reseach (kajian pustaka) yaitu dengan menelaah referensi baik artikel, jurnal, buku, dan beberapa referensi yang relevan untuk mendukung artikel tersebut. Sederhana bahwa tafsir di era digital adalah penafsiran al-Qur'an yang memanfaatkan teknologi untuk meningkatkan kualitas kajian dan hierarki keilmuan tafsir. Tafsir di era digital juga bertujuan untuk membuat kajian Al-Qur'an lebih inklusif dan mudah diakses oleh berbagai kalangan.

Abstract

Indonesia is a constitutional country, its formation is based on legal principles and norms through a mutual agreement called the 1945 Constitution. The Constitution is one of the pillars of nationality in formulating the values and norms of the state. On the one hand, even though Indonesia is not a religion-based country, the 1945 Constitution substantially has very strong religious values and doctrines, especially Islam. Therefore, the author in this article will focus on analyzing how to harmonize religious values in the constitution through a comparative study of the text between the Qur'an and the content of the 1945 Constitution, specifically article 29 paragraphs 1 and 2. This research-based article uses normative juridical analysis with the type of literature research. The author traces sources in various literature, academic manuscripts, official documents, books of tafsir, then studied and then analyzed using the theory of legal harmonization. Conclusion of this article, the author finds that in principle there is a correspondence between the values of norms in article 29 paragraphs 1 and 2 of the 1945 Constitution with several verses of the Quran, for example in Al-Ikhlas, Al-Maidah, and Al-Baqarah. This connectedness can be seen in the spirit of prioritizing the values of justice and humanity. Keywords: Harmonization, UUD 1945, Islam, Qur`an, Justice.

Abstract

This study examines the meaning of 'alima and 'arofa contained in the book of tafsir al-kasysysaf by al-Zamakhsyari, this study aims to provide new knowledge related to the meaning contained in the verses of 'alima and 'arofa. With regard to the meaning of 'alima and 'arofa which means knowing, is a trait that requires an object. So to know and understand it, linguistic analysis is needed. As an approach, the author uses thematic figures, namely, al-Zamakhsyari in the book of tafsir al-kasysysaf. In this research method using qualitative methods with the type of library research. Library research is a study in which all data are in the form of written materials such as books, journals, manuscripts and previous scientific research, which discusses lafadz 'alima and 'arofa in the book of tafsir al-kasysysaf by al-Zamakhsyari with descriptive analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that the interpretation of al-Zamakhsyari in explaining the lafadz 'alima and 'arofa has similarities and differences. The similarities of the two are both "knowing" while the difference is that the lafadz 'alima in the text of the Qur'an is usually attributed to Allah SWT which is interpreted as proof that Allah SWT knows everything both before and after, and when the lafadz 'alima is attributed to humans, the meaning of knowledge must have an intermediary to be able to know it such as miracles and other wonders, then they will know. While lafadz 'arofa in the text of the Qur'an is always attributed specifically to humans, so that they know and understand, there is nothing higher and superior to human knowledge when it is in the side of Allah SWT.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini menganalisis resepsi Al-Qur’an dalam unggahan akun instagram @quranreview yang berjudul “K.D.R.T. di Posting?” yang merujuk pda QS. an-Nis?’ ayat 34. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengungkapkan bagaimana akun tersebut menyampaikan tafsir ayat Al-Qur’an secara sederhana namun tetap relevan dengan isu-isu modern, khususnya terkait kekerasan dalam rumah tangga (KDRT). Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode living Qur’an berbasis penelitian pustaka (library research), studi ini memanfaatkan analisis wacana dan teks untuk mengolah data. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa akun @quranreview mengadopsi dua jenis resepsi Al-Qur’an, yaitu resepsi eksegenis dan fungsional. Resepsi eksegenis ditampilkan melalui interpretasi ayat yang disampaikan secara lugas dan didukung oleh hadis untuk mempertegas pemahaman. Sementara resepsi fungsional berfokus pada aspek informatif, yaitu menyampaikan pesan moral yang menekankan harmoni antara nilai-nilai Al-Qur’an dan prinsip kemanusiaan dalam konteks KDRT. Dengan penyajian visual yang menarik dan gaya bahasa yang dekat dengan audiens modern, akun ini berhasil menjadi jembatan pemahaman antara ajaran agama dan daily activities, khususnya generasi milenial. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya peran media digital sebagai alat dakwah dalam memperluas pemahaman dan penerapan Al-Qur’an di era teknologi.

Abstract

Abstract: Every Muslim who performs prayer must fulfill the conditions and pillars. Facing the Qibla is one of the valid requirements that must be fulfilled. There is a controversy between MUI and Ali Mustafa Yakub in the interpretation of Qibla in Indonesia. The conclusion of this research states the untruth of Ali Mustafa Yakub's criticism of the absence of the underlying argument against the stipulation of MUI Fatwa No. 5/2010. Between the first and second fatwa is an inseparable part and MUI has never abrogated it. This is based on the Hadith of Ibn Abbas “This is the Qibla” which supersedes the Hadith of Abu Hurairah “Between East and West is the Qibla”. Therefore, in the application, the first fatwa is general (West direction) and the second fatwa is more specific (Northwest). This research is a library study. The primary reference in this research is a book by Ali Mustafa Yaqub, entitled: Qibla According to al-Qur'an and Hadith, Criticism of MUI Fatwa No.5/2010. The collection of data sources in this research is done descriptively by describing and explaining the facts. This research can be a reference, a contribution for observers, researchers, the academic community, mass organizations, and Muslims in determining the Indonesian Qibla. Abstrak: Setiap muslim yang menunaikan salat berkewajiban memenuhi syarat dan rukunnya. Menghadap kiblat merupakan salah satu syarat sah yang wajib terpenuhi. Terjadi kontroversi antara MUI dengan Ali Mustafa Yakub dalam interpretasi kiblat di Indonesia. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menyatakan ketidakbenaran kritikan Ali Mustafa Yakub atas tidak adanya dalil yang melandasi terhadap penetapan Fatwa MUI Fatwa No. 5/2010. Antara fatwa pertama dan kedua merupakan bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dan MUI tidak pernah menasakhnya. Hal ini didasarkan hadis Riwayat Ibnu Abbas “Inilah kiblat” yang mentakhsis hadis Abu Hurairah “Antara timur dan barat adalah kiblat”. Maka secara aplikatif fatwa pertama bersifat umum (Arah Barat) ditakhsis dengan fatwa kedua yang lebih spesifik (Barat Laut). Penelitian ini merupakan studi perpustakaan library research. Adapun referensi primer dalam penelitian ini adalah buku karya Ali Mustafa Yaqub, berjudul: Kiblat Menurut al-Qur’an dan Hadis, Kritik atas Fatwa MUI No.5/2010. Penghimpunan sumber-sumber data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan menggambarkan, memaparkan secara fakta. Penelitian ini dapat menjadi referensi, kontribusi bagi para pemerhati, peneliti, civitas akademika, ormas dan umat Islam dalam penetapan kiblat Indonesia.

Abstract

interpretation, particularly in her book ‘Qur'an and Women’. She asserts that restrictions on women do not come from the Qur'anic text itself, but from interpretations of religious texts that are often gender-biased. Amina Wadud argues that it is not the Qur'anic text that restricts women, but the interpretation of religious texts that are often considered more important than the Qur'an itself. By using a hermeneutic methodology approach, Amina Wadud emphasises objectivity rather than subjectivity to facilitate the interpretation of Qur'anic verses, especially on gender issues. She fights for equal responsibility between men and women without ignoring the important differences between them. This research was conducted using the literature study method, using primary sources from Amina Wadud's works and related secondary sources. The results of this study show that Amina Wadud's thought brings a new perspective in Qur'anic interpretation that is more inclusive of women, challenging classical interpretations that tend to limit the role of women in Islam.

Abstract

he purpose of this writing is to examine the orthodoxy perspective in the Al-Bayan Fi Ma’rifati Ma’ani Alquran commentary written by KH Shodiq Hamzah from Semarang. Shodiq Hamzah is an intellectual figure in the pesantren community, holding a prominent position within the societal system. The conclusion is based on the fact that this commentary was written at the request of the hajj congregation he led, and his position as a spiritual guide (mursyid) in the Thariqah order. As a pesantren scholar, the tradition in pesantren education, which consistently strives to maintain the orthodoxy of religious teachings through an intellectual network (sanad), is abstracted in his commentary. The "Al-Bayan" commentary reflects the pesantren's orthodox tradition, where orthodox religious understanding is maintained to avoid heterodox views. By utilizing John B. Henderson's conceptualization of orthodoxy, this study concludes that the "Al-Bayan" commentary tends to orthodox views. This is demonstrated through various references to the works of Salaf scholars that he incorporates as sources for his interpretation. His background as a pesantren intellectual, connected with the scholars of the Haramain, significantly influences his interpretive style. However, the orthodoxy in Shodiq's interpretations is not extreme; it appears tolerant and moderate, avoiding criticism or discrediting differing opinions.
