Tidak ada lagi jarak antara praktik seni dan teknologi, terutama dengan masyarakat. Pemisaha antara disiplin sain dan teknologi dengan sosial, humaniora, dan seni tidak lagi populer saat ini. Praktek seni sudah seharusnya melebur dan kehadirannya mewarnai teknologi dan masyarakat . seni tidak lagi terbatas menjadi menara gading yang berlindung di balik kredo seni untuk seni. Kehadiran seni semakin diperlukan dalam dunia yang kian berlari menuju kecanggihan teknologi. Seni telah membuktika hal tersebut dengan munculnya disiplin-disiplin baru dalam ilmu pengetahuan seperti disiplin desain, kajian budaya dan sebagainya. Dengan demikian terjadilah dialog antar disiplin yang memungkinkan seni memberi manfaat lebih bagi peradaban. Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat Institut Seni Indonesia Surakarta konsisten mewadahi praktik seni dalam penelitain dan pengabdian masyarakat dengan perspektif yang lebih holistik. Seni dikembangkan tidak terpisah dengan masyarakat dengan segala dinamikanya.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Research and discussion that has been carried out in the first year said that the researchers and artists or the community supporting the dance Manyakokhave agreed to modernize it by developing the traditional danceManyakok, without losing the values contained in it in accordance to its aimto be a tourist performing art. In the second stage, the development produces a new dance compositionManyakok and returned to the supporting community through aPacuJalur tourism program. To achieve the objectives of this study, the method used is qualitative and R & D; it is also possible to use quantitative methods using a scientific approach, namely observation, literary study, field studies, modernization / development and marketing (case studies). Besides, to find out the effectiveness of the new model / form of dance composition, it needs to be tested. The test was conducted in the form of a pre-performance held on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 20.30 WIB, at the Adam ISI Huriah Building, Padangpanjang. After the pre-performance, it is followed by an open discussion. The result can be concluded that the new form of Manyakok dance composition was agreed to be entitled” Manyakok Ceria” dance. Alhamdulillah the results were very satisfying, even previously, it is planned to appear on the nightly arts event.After being shown at the pre-show, the observers from Pangean including the Regent plan to perform it at the PacuJalur. On Wednesday 29 August 2018, a new form of Manyakok dance compositions (Manyakok Ceria dance) is returned to the supporting community through performances at opening events and arts night events on the cultural program Pacu Jalur. The activity is in accordance to the objectives of the second phase of the research, namely to restore the new product of traditional dance composition of Manyakok to the community as well as an effort to preserve the traditional dance and improve the economy of the community.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The article entitled Teknik Tradisional Ukir Logam Di Desa Tumang Cepogo Boyolali (Metal Carving Traditional Technique) in TumangCepogoBoyolali Village is one of the results of research that was applied to community service activities (PPM) with the title PPPE Kriya Logam Pada Sentra Kerajinan Tembaga, Kuningan dan Aluminium di Desa Tumang Cepogo Kabupaten Boyolali, Jawa Tengah (PPPE KriyaLogam at the Copper, Brass and Aluminum Craft Centers in Tumang Village, Cepogo, Boyolali Regency , Central Java). The purpose of the study was to identify and find out more about the technicality of metal crafts, especially the carving techniques found in TumangCepogo village, Boyolali, Central Java as data for engineering development. Metal crafts in Tumang village are hereditary cultural heritages that produce a lot of household appliances such as dandang, wajan, kwali, kendil, and others. Along with the time progress, it experiences developments with a touch of aesthetic creativity thatbecomes high-quality handicraft art items. the technique used in this develop-ment is metal carving techniques. Based on this, research on metal carving techniques has become important in relation to product development and the quality of high-quality crafts. The method used in this study belongs to the qualitative category. Some approaches are used in analyzing data, including interactive analysis. It is a flowing relationship of three main components, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclu-sion whose activities are carried out interactively, thus carried out repeatedly so that it formsa cycle.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Macapat is one of the literary works in the Javanese, Sundanese, Balinese and Madurese languages in the form of poetry which is arranged according to certain rules, including guru gatra, guru lagu, andguruwilangan. It has a weighty content. The presentation is through a smooth, gentle, careful and steady cultivation process and always takes into account the elements of ethics and aesthetics. The macapat songswere very popular around the eighteenth century and it can be said to have topped the stairs in the court arts. The macapat songscontain two elements of art, namely literary art and music / sound art which are functioned as a commu-nicative media to convey advice or messages of development. At this time, it is only a historical record of Javanese literature because the macapat songsare now not well known by the heirs. All of this is not due to the influence of the development of science and technology but also due to the lack of teaching infrastructure in the form of books and instructors or less varied existing song material. In connection to this, as a valuable literary work, the macapat songs need to be preserved in order to enrich the cultural treasures of Indonesia. The plans for the creation of macapat songs Kinathi and Sinom with the CengkokMerdiLambang are intended to be a form of participatory action in efforts to preserve and to develop.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Indonesia’s natural and cultural wealth represents an extraordinary gift that is not compared to others in the world, for example rattan and batik. Batik and rattan as Indonesia’s natural and cultural wealth become the base to increase the competitiveness and productivity of the rattan furniture industry in Sukoharjo Regency. The efforts of the improvement are in case of export-oriented industries, especially Surya Rotan and Agung Rejeki Furniture. Product creation and various things related to the market and production are also become a concern in this applied research. This research uses TDA (Total Design Activity) approach. Six aspects in TDA approach include market, specification, concept design, detailed design, manufacture and sales. The activities undertaken include product design, design of appropriate technology, product protection through industrial design rights, exhibitions, and training and production assistance. Rattan as a superior raw material, the ability to process Indonesian rattan, and finishing rattan products with batik is then used as the base of furniture product design. The furniture product design of rattan and rattan finishing become the base for creating furniture products of chairs, tables, and even handicraft products.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Jaka Tingkir adalah salah satu ceritera rakyat yang berkembang di daerah Demak. Ceritera ini diberi judul “Nglurug Tanpa Bala Menang Tanpa Ngasorake”. Dikemas dalam garap Langen Carita Jaka Tingkir. Pijakan garap ini adalah Lagendriyan yang berada di Mangkunegaran. Pola-pola garap Lengendriyan menjadi acuan dalam garap Langen Carita, hanya pada Langen Carita penonjolan gerak sebagai bentuk garap tariyang dikuatkan dengan garap Karawitan berisi tembang yang menjadi narasi alur ceritera.Untuk mencapai tujuan penelitian penciptaan seni dilakukan langkah-langkah yang berbasis research by praktice dengan metode observasi,eksperimen,dan pembentukan.Kegiatan ini diharapkan selesai dalam 2 tahun. Pada tahun pertama dapat membuat prototipe. Pada tahun kedua penyempurnaan karya dan pementasan karya tingkat Nasional.Tahun pementasan tingkat Internasional. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menghasilkan metode garap penciptaan tari dan garap baru Langendriyan.Tingkat kesiapan teknologi merupakan ukuran pada luaran penelitian ini. Tingkat kesiapan teknologi pada penelitian ini termasuk dalam tingkat ke enam yaitu pengujian lapangan prototipe/produk/karya seni skala studio. Kata Kunci: Langen Carita, kesiapan teknologi, metode. ABSTRACT Firstly the opera dance drama cration had been lead by noblige community in the early 1870th. Traditional sources in Java named the kind of performance is Langendriya from Yogyakarta. By the time of Langendriya’s creation followed by Langendriyan Mandraswaran in Mangkunegaran Palace and Langen Mandra Wanara which was created by Prime Minister of Yogyakarta. Pada kelanjutannya dramatari opera yang lahir kemudian adalah Langendriyan Mandraswaran di Pura Mangkunegaran, Surakarta dan Langen Mandra Wanara yang diciptakan Patih Yogyakarta. A several years later appeared many creation of dancedrama opera in Pakualaman Palace of Yogyakarta called Langen Asmarasupi and Langen Banjaransari. This article especially aims to the phenomena of opera dancedrama creation called Langen Carita from early 19th century which was loaded of educational media for native Java. A figure of Hadi Sukatno firstly trusted by Ki Hadjar Dewantara, a founder of Taman Siswa School to use a Langen Carita as didactic method in transfering of knowledge to the student of native Java. This article based on qualitative reserach combined by arts historical method. It must using heuristic method to study the valid data and critized the sources. Here heuristic step would destined in order to objectiv studies. The main approach of this article is ethnochoreology according to the material stuff in dancedrama as a branch of performing arts studies. Ethnochoreological perspectives needed to placed the dance studies keep in the multidemensional object. It has been related to search the basic of creation on opera dancedrama equal to dance study would viewed from cultural product. Abstract

ABSTRAK Pemberdayaan industri kerajinan logam dalam kegiatan Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah bertujuan untuk meningkatkan daya saing industri yang berorientasi pada produk ekspor, dimana konsentrasi penggunaan bahan baku utama didominasi bahan baku logam seperti tembaga, aluminium dan kuningan yang berada di di Desa Tumang. Penggunaan alat yang sederhana merupakan salah satu mengapa produk kerajinan tidak bisa memenuhi permintaan pasar dalam waktu yang singkat. Sehingga diperlukan strategi bagaimana memecahkan permasalahan tersebut. Disamping itu, banyak permasalahan-permasalahan lain yang diperlukan penanganan sehingga kegiatan pemberdayaan ini sangat dibutuhkan. Fokus dari kegiatan pemberdayaan ini lebih diarahkan pada pada aspek peningkatan kualitas produksi Kerajinan logam yang meliputi penguatan system produksi, penguatan sumber daya manusia, pemanfaatan teknologi tepat guna, perancangan desain, dan branding produk yang akhirnya bermuara pada eksport hasil produk kerajinan logam.

Abstract

Nusantara’s unique and unique culture has a characteristic position. An interesting thing in the form of visual communication is seeing from the frame of the visual culture that is the concept of landscape in the embodiment of the Mantingan Mosque relief. The reality of the visual culture that occurred in Java walisongo uses the visual culture as the medium of da’wah. Culture in the form of relief with the form of cosmological diagrams with eight distinct angles of sunlight as a form of Surya Majapahit and landscape or landscape with terms with symbols. Landscape in the form of stellar motifs combined bring visual communication symbols. This study aims to: 1) Describe the form of relief that contains the concept of landscape 2) Knowing the concept of landscape in the relief of Mantingan mosque. The method used in this research is a qualitative method, so this research produces descriptive data related to archipelago culture form. The results showed that the Mantingan mosque relief depicts the concept of landscape embodied with stellar motifs in the form of lotus motifs, Meru, stir animals and buildings. Motif stir animals and buildings as the main motif that is considered important surrounded by complex and beautiful motifs of plants.

Abstract

Tarompa Datuak is sociocultural footwear which is a cultural product inspired by a replica of “capal Rasul” brought by merchants from Arab and India. In accordance with the Minang proverb “sakali aie gadang sakali tapian barubah” (time change) in the socio-cultural context of tarompa which was originally shaped replica capal Rasul transforme by craftsmen in Malay land into “capal Malays” and in Ranah Minang called “tarompa datuak”, due to part of Datuak greatness clothes. As a craft product that is synonymous with Minang culture, it needs to be developed, in order to remain sustainable and sought by the wider community. The development of the design and the empowerment of craftsmen becomes imperative in the context of sociocultural change, because the potential of tarompa datuak can be transformed optimally into leather handicraft products that provide prosperity for the supporting community. For that, it is necessary to do this research with the aim of developing the design and ability of tarompa datuak crafters as well as improving the managerial system of his business, so that the potential of tarompa datuak handicraft is optimized and become a competitive handicraft amid the global cultural arena. The method used in this research refers to qualitative research methodology, namely participatory observation method is active observation. To make tarompa designs datuak, then conducted several stages of research, namely: a survey to the center of tarompa datuak craft; exploration; analysis and synthesis; designing by considering the factor of performance, function factor, marketing factor and consumer interest; and then transformed into a prototype tarompa datuak.

Abstract

This paper is the result of research on the development of Dance Podang Perisai from tradition to be modern both textually and contextually. Textually Dance Podang Perisai is related to dance composition including motion, dancers, musical, accompaniment, costum, makeup and dloor pattern, created by traditional artists who have not had any knowledge about choreography so Dance Podang Perisai is very simple according to requirement at that time. Dance Podang Perisai has seven different motions of starting motion, sosor, paliang, rantak sabolah, rantak duo bolah, kuak ilalang and lantiang pauah. From a contextual point of view, Dance Podang Perisai is analyzed about the values of past struggles that must be maintained so as not to simply disappear with the presence of increasingly sophisticated technology that makes the tradition’s values more neglected. Development of research based Dance Podang Perisai with method R & D (Research and Development). The research begins in the Dance of Podang Perisai tradition and is developed into a modern dance.

Abstract

Lagu model merupakan lagu yang digunakan sebagai media dalam mencapai pembelajaran berdasarkan tema. Yang menjadi kendala dalam proses penciptaan lagu adalah perbedaan kemampuan musikal mahasiswa antara latar belakang pendidikan musik dan mahasiswa di Prodi PG-PAUD. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan optimalisasi proses pembelajaran cipta lagu untuk pembelajaran anak usia dini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa tingkat II di kelas A, B, C, dan D yang berjumlah 59 orang mahasiswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester genap tahun akademik 2015/2016, dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa cara untuk mengoptimalkan penciptaan “Lagu Model” anak usia dini adalah melalui pembuatan sinopsis, pelaksanaan metode diskusi kolaboratif, apresiasi, serta pendokumentasian lagu dalam bentuk CD dan Buku. Dengan adanya metode yang tepat dalam mengoptimalkan proses pembelajaran, maka dapat meningkatkan kualitas lagu yang diciptakan oleh mahasiswa.
