Seni, teknologi, dan masyarakat dewasa ini telah menyatu dalam praktik penelitian dan pengabdian masyarakat di perguruan tinggi seni. Tidak ada lagi jarak antara praktik seni dan teknologi, terutama dengan masyarakat. Pemisaha antara disiplin sain dan teknologi dengan sosial, humaniora, dan seni tidak lagi populer saat ini. Praktek seni sudah seharusnya melebur dan kehadirannya mewarnai teknologi dan masyarakat . seni tidak lagi terbatas menjadi menara gading yang berlindung di balik kredo seni untuk seni. Kehadiran seni semakin diperlukan dalam dunia yang kian berlari menuju kecanggihan teknologi. Seni telah membuktika hal tersebut dengan munculnya disiplin-disiplin baru dalam ilmu pengetahuan seperti disiplin desain, kajian budaya dan sebagainya. Dengan demikian terjadilah dialog antar disiplin yang memungkinkan seni memberi manfaat lebih bagi peradaban. Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat Institut Seni Indonesia Surakarta konsisten mewadahi praktik seni dalam penelitain dan pengabdian masyarakat dengan perspektif yang lebih holistik. Seni dikembangkan tidak terpisah dengan masyarakat dengan segala dinamikanya.

Abstract

Istana Basa Pagaruyung adalah salah satu obyek wisata budaya di kabupaten Tanah Datar dengan tingkat kunjungan wisatawan tertinggi dan memiliki hampir semua unsur daya tarik wisata budaya, kecuali pertunjukan seni yang belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Pada hal banyak Sanggar seni pertunjukan yang potensial di sekitar Istana Basa Pagaruyung dan dapat memberikan daya tarik yang sama dengan wisata budaya yang lain. Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui pertunjukan seni yang mencakup seni musik, seni tari dan seni teater dan pelaku seni dikabupaten Tanah Datar serta mengetahui komponen lokasi pertunjukan di Istana Basa Pagaruyung. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif dengan mendata secara tekstual dan kontekstual kesenian tradisional yang ada di kabapaten Tanah Datar. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa di Tanah Datar terdapat 245 sanggar seni tradisional, 79 sanggar seni teater atau randai, 167 sanggar seni tari dan musik tradisional Diantaranya ada sekitar 12 sanggar seni yang aktif melakukan pertunjukan seni di lokasi wisata di Istana Basa Pagaruyung. Jadwalnya pertunjukan ditentukan oleh Disbudparpora kabupaten Tanah Datar antara 7 sampai 12 kali setiap tahunnya. Durasi pertunjukan sekitar satu jam, menampilkan dua jenis seni pertunjukan, tempat pertunjukan tidak permanen. Yaitu didepan Istana Basa Pagaruyung ruang terbuka hijau yang merupakan gerbang masuk ke lokasi wisata Istana Basa Basa Pagaruyung. Kata Kunci: Seni pertunjukan, kemasan pertunjukan seni, dan daya tarik wisata ABSTRACT Basa Pagaruyung Palace is one of culture tourist object in Tanah datar Regency with highest visiting of tourist and it has almost all elemen of attraction of culturure tourism, except the art show which hasn’t been used optimally. Whereas, there are many potenciat art show club houses around Basa Pagaruyung Palace and they can give the some attraction with the otherculturel tourism. The porpuse of research was knowing art show including music, dance and theater arts, andartists in Tanah Datar Regency, and getting information the locationof showat Basa Pagaruyung Palce. The research in done with qualitative method by collecting datasof art show in Tanah Datar regency textually and contextually. The result of research indicated the are245 traditional club houses, 79 theater art clubs or randai, 167 danceart clubsand traditional musical. There are 12 art clubs which perform artshow at Basa Pagaruyung Palace actyvely. The schedule of showis determinedby DISBUDPARPORA (departmen of culturel, tourism, youth and sport ) of Tanah datar regency 7 – 12 time in a year. Duration of show about one hour, green Open Space in front of Basa Pagaruyung Palace which funtion as the gate of Basa Pagaruyung palace.

Abstract

The article entitled “The Change and Sustainability of Balanse Madam Dance in the Nias Padang Community” aims to reveal Balanse Madam dance changes and to analyze the sustainability. After many of his supporting artists died, many changes occurred in Balanse Madam dance, both in terms of dancers as well as the music of the accompaniment.Qualitative description research method with the approach of interaction and interpretation analysis was used to reveal the problem. The tracking is done by viewing and analyzing Balanse Madam dance changes on the development of forming elements in dance compositions from 1995 to present. The study of change and sustainability of Balanse Madam dance in Nias Padang society was analyzed by using culture endurance theory proposed by Edi Sedyawati and the theory of composition forming elements used by R.M. Soedarsono.The study results showed that over time, various things affect the condition of Balanse Madam dance, resulting in changes in some elements of Balanse Madam dance formation. The changes are (1) the dancers, who used to be housewives, can now be performed by the dancers that are still teenagers; (2) music accompaniment, used to be played directly by musicians, but now can be accompanied by music recordings. The use of teen dancer and music recordingarea form of sustainability of Balanse Madam dance.

Abstract

This study aims to study in depth about the motivation of women melakoni mamak role that actualized in Minangkabau local color literature works. The research method used is qualitative method with approach of structuralism (pure) and sociology of literature. Minangkabau (kaba, novel, and short story) selected based on several considerations (purposive sampling). Data analysis is done by using theory with triangulation technique. The results show that (1) the local color literature structure of Minangkabau, before independence generally raised the theme of moral problems with chronological flow, the beauty of a typical background with a simple character whose character was static, while after independence raised the theme of struggle for freedom and self-esteem with unkonvansional groove, (2) factors causing waning of the role of mamak, (a) government policy, (b) social status in the family (c) education of parents, (d) stream of modernization and globalization, (e) influence of Islamic family system, (f) there is no legal sanction, (g) absence of assertiveness of mamak, and (3) women’s motivation for the role of mamak is more dominated by the need for rewards, both low-level needs, while respecting others as well as high level needs, while the need for self-esteem.

Abstract

Increasing woven products utilizing woven as a base material for various handicraft products, Diversification emphasizes towards application through coaching and training given to artisans, so that this program can improve skills, increase knowledge and insight of craftsmen on products they can produce using woven material. In addition to the application of new weaving design motifs, training is conducted to diversify handicraft products using woven materials and modify woven fabrics with other materials such as woven bamboo, rattan, and pandanus, as well as other materials to produce more varied weaving craft products. (2) Woven handicraft modified weaving, (3) Souvenirs, (4) Pillow cushions, (5) Mattress pads, (6) Hoods Lamp. Diversification of products while maintaining quality, and maintaining the characteristics of woven unggan. Development and training provided is an effort to improve the quality of weaving through diversification of handicraft products, to create new entrepreneurs who are able to compete in the global market. Diversification of handicraft products that have high creativity value will be able to increase the selling value of the product. So as to strengthen the Indonesian woven products as a whole. Tenun Unggan as an element of potential local culture as a local genius because it has proven its ability to survive so as to enrich the national culture.

Abstract

Talempong gandang lasuang is a traditional musical ensemble that come from Pariaman. This music usually played by the mature woman during the cooking activity at the wedding party. This art tradition almost extinct, therefore it is necessary to conduct in-depth research to make it revive useful in society. The effort that can be do to make it revive arround the society, we need an innovation and development, therefore it can produce a new form of art, both music and performance aesthetic without eliminating the traditional value. This research uses qualitative method with anthropology approach, sociology, aesthetics and musicologists. Data collection methods that used in this research are observation, interview and documentation. The final result of this research is a new form or composition of ensemble talempong gandang lasuang, which has function and economic value especially for the supporting artist.

Abstract

Tritangtu Sunda is a living philosophy of traditional Sundanese people including in Bandung regency. Having three important meanings of the division of the world, the three worlds are Buana Nyungcung (Upper world), Buana Larang (Underworld), and Buana Pancatengah (Middle world). The Sundanese Tritangtu is the perspective of the unification of the three worlds in peasant life. The union is the marriage of Buana Nyungcung with Buana Larang, and Buana Pancatengah is the one that unites it. The concept of the Sundanese Tritangtu influences the art of Wawacan speech that is commonly displayed into the art of Beluk. Wawacan is what helped shape the collective minds of the Sundanese people. Wawacan which is the source of dissertation research is “Wawacan Nata Sukma” written anonymously by Banjaran society, Regency of Bandung in 1833 AD (19th century) during “Cultuurstelsel” to grow coffee in Pangalengan. Sunda Tritangtu will function as a method of theater- based theater of contemporary theater. This research uses Isser’s reception theory, to actualize the work in different ways. There is no single correct interpretation (Culler, 2003). George Land’s approach of transformation theory, defined as a new creation or a change to a new form both function and structure. “To transform”, creating a new, unprecedented creation, transformation can mean a change of “mindset”. The research method used Schechner (2002) and mise en scene method formulated by Patrice Pavis.

Abstract

Secara geografis, tari tradisional di Minangkabau memiliki karakter yang berbeda diantara darek dan pasisia.Taritari di kawasan darek antara lain dipengaruhi oleh pola kehidupan masyarakatnya yang agraris dan adatistiadat yang masih kuat mengakar, sebaliknya tari-tari di daerah pesisir yang terletak di sepanjang pantai Barat Sumatera, memiliki kekhasan masyarakat yang tinggal di daerah pantai, dan mendapat pengaruh dari kebudayaan luar. Dengan menggunakan perspektif etnokoreologi dan metode etnografi, tulisan ini ditujukan untuk menjelaskan gaya tari tradisional dengan mengambil dua bentuk tari, yakni: tari Mulo Pado dari Padang Magek dan tari Benten dari Pesisir Selatan.Tari Mulo Pado, sikap tubuh cenderung kokoh dengan kekuatan gerak terpusat pada kaki yang selalu menumpu ke tanah dan gerak tari didominasi oleh gerak tangan yang dipengaruhi lingkungan alamnya yang agragis. Sedangkan pada tari Benten sikaptubuh agak condong ke depan sesuai dengan konteks kultural masyarakatnya yang hidup sebagai nelayan. Gerak kaki lebih dinamis dan variatif.

Abstract

The traditional market design mission in general is to provide comfortable, accessible, and accommodating social interaction spaces for economic and social activities. The market becomes a community place (traders) in self-development. The success of traditional market design can also contribute to strengthening the local character of the community and become the identity of the city. This report is the result of research of Interior Design Pasar Gedhe Hardjonagoro: Tourism Destination that Represents Cultural House in Solo City. This research is about effort in rehabilitation program to maintain cultural heritage building that function as Traditional Market with best featured products. The research method used descriptive analytic method and design approach as design solution. The results achieved are: zoning and grouping are not well planned that cause problems to the hierarchy of space, the circulation provides less accessibility for visitors, traders, distribution of goods, and waste.

Abstract

This Community Service Program activity aims to develop the ability of craftsmen in improving product quality and quantity. improve the competitiveness of the targeted partners in facing market challenges. The intended development includes; design, implementation of technology, marketing, strategy, and marketing materials. Partners of community service activities are Nasrafa located in Jebres Subdistrict, 2 kilometers from ISI Surakarta and Kaftan Art located in Mojolaban Sukoharjo Regency, Central Java Province, 6 kilometers from ISI Surakarta. The prospect of developing this handicraft product is very good and in demand by wide consumers, some have taken out of the country. The limited ability of human resources, business networks, and the limited equipment and dependence of the finishing process on the weather cause the partners are less able to take advantage of opportunities to develop this business with the maximum. After accompaniment, the partners are expected to be able to become more powerful craftsmen, so as to increase the production, design quality, to increase the selling value of the product, so as to increase the family’s income, then more to absorb the labor that comes from the surrounding community. Community service activities are carried out during the period of one year. The planned activities are; workshop on the use of production tools with appropriate technology, management training, and product design development workshops that are in demand by the market. After getting a touch of better painting design, proper management, modernization of production tools, attractive promotional media is expected to increase the competitiveness of partners in the face of the market.

Abstract

Community service activities are aimed at improving the competitiveness of the assisted partners in facing the market development. Potential development of this decorative lamp product is still very open. Both partners both use solid waste raw materials from surrounding industries. The first partner is a craftsman Solo Batik KALINDA lamp that uses the main material waste of furniture production. The second partner is a craftsman Solo RAIHAN CRAFT Decorative lamps that use the remaining threads of textile industry. Both partners are located in the Surakarta municipality. Design limitations, human resources, business networks, and limited number and types of equipment cause poor partners to take advantage of the business development opportunities of the two craftsmen. After accompaniment, the partners are expected to be able to be a strong craftsman, so as to increase production, design, so as to increase family income, then more to absorb the labor that comes from the surrounding community environment. This community service activity is carried out over a period of ten months. The planned activities are; workshop design, workshop on the use of production tools with appropriate technology, simple management training, workshop on promotional materials and marketing. After getting a good touch of design, proper management, modernization of production tools, attractive promotional media is expected to increase the competitiveness of partners in the face of the market.
