Abstract

The research was done in Nagari Limau Gadang, West Sumatera. The purpose of the research was to study the rate of intestinal nematode infection on the students of SDN Nagari Limau Gadang.The population of the research was the students of SDN Nagari Limau Gadang as many as 100 students divided into six grades, that is grade 1 until grade 6. By using stratified proportional random sampling, 40% of the students on each grade were considered as the sample. The hypothesis of the research was 85% of the students were infected by intestinal nematode and 15% were not. As the result, the hypothesis was accepted; more than 75% of the students of SDN Nagari Limau Gadang in Pesisir Selatan regency were infected by intestinal nematode, especially Ascaris lumbricoides35% and Ancylostoma 8,33%. It was found that intestinal nematode mostly infected female students, the students under 9 years old, and those with uneducated parents. Key words: infection, nematode, student

Abstract

Isolation and characterization of fungus that caused root and stem rotten in durian have been conducted. Isolation using baiting method with apple and than inoculated to PSM medium, while characterization using light microscope. Characterization result showed that P. palmivora isolated from infected durian have white, stratified and stellate colony, unsepta hyphae and form clamidospore, oospore, zoospore and sporangium.Key words: isolation, Phytophthora palmivora, spora

Abstract

The study on growth respons of Lansium domesticum  poliembryoni seed on MS and WPM media with added by coconut water had been carried out from Maret up to Mei 2006. This experiment had been done in Tissue Culture Laboratory, Agronomy-Holticulture Depatment, Agronomy Faculty, Institute Pertanian Bogor, using  two factorial of Completely Randomized Design with  nine treatments, and ten replications. The first factor treatment were  MS, ½ MS and WPM media, and the 2nd  factor were 0, 15 and 20% coconut water. The result showed that the emergence time of the first adventitious shoot were beginning on 26,5 days after planting, with one until four numerous of shoots, on MS, ½ MS, WPM media with added  until 20% coconut water. There were only 50-70% shoot formed on 8 weeks after planting. With 20% coconut water suplemented on MS culture media showed that the height of shoots were significant than controle.Key words: Lansium domesticum, coconut water, polyembryonic seed, culture media.

Abstract

This research had been done to know the mass production of Pf (Fluorescent Pseudomonads) in coconut liquid media. Randomized Complete Design (RCD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications was implemented in this research which consisted of 5 incubation periods: the 0, 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 8thweeks. The data gathered were analyzed by ANOVA and DNMRT (5% confidence level). As the result, the incubation period within 6 weeks in coconut liquid media gave good response to increase the mass production of Pf. On the other hand, the incubation period within 8 weeks gave bad response.Key words: Pseudomonad fluoresen, mass production, coconut liquid

Abstract

The research study about the screening of the resistance of red chilli (Capsicum annuum L.) resulted from mutation induced by Ethyl Methane Sulphonate (EMS) on the second generation (M2) to antrachnose diseases has been done by using descriptive method to intensity diseases of Colletotrichum capsici from mutant fruit of second generation. The result showed that the intensity of antrachnose on red chilli generation ranged from 23.69% to 54.82% with tolerance criteria susceptible and very susceptible.Key words: mutation induced, ethyl methane sulphonate, antraknosa red chille,  antrachnose

Abstract

This research theoretically describes the molecule n2 p2 with cemetery group d-h using ab initio /STO-3 G that is included in the package of HyperChem Pro.6.0. this study also discusses the effect of atom toward electronic features and the structure that is formed from molecule n2 p2. Moreover, this research investigated the effect of cemetery group n1-P2 toward molecule stability n2 P2. Research findings revealed that loop n1-P2 or loop P2-P3 could be single loop, double loop, and even triple loop.  For the optimum result, the most stable molecule was CIP (E=993242,9375), that is the optimum result of CIPPCI. However, the most unstable molecule was PP (E=423494,6563), that is the optimum result of HPPH. In one group from top-down or in a period form left-right, total energy seems decrease.  In other words, n2 P2 was seen more stable. Key wordS :Ab initio, molekul n2P2, grup simetri D~h

Abstract

This research was aimed at studying the activities of amylase produced by isolate bacteria which were isolated from hot water resource, Ciseeng Bogor. Four among the nine isolate bacteria grown on NA media showed the activities of amylase. The character of Amylase was analyzed in 2 isolates, A1 and A3. Isolate A1 was optimally active at pH 3, 55 C, meanwhile isolate A3 was optimally active at pH 4, 50 C. The amylase resulted from either isolate A1 or isolate A3 was acid amylase. Both of the isolates were relatively stable at pH acid, whereas the amylase resulted from A3 was not stable on pemanasan in 30 minutes, and the amylase from A1 increased after being incubated at more than 60 C in 30 minutes. In conclusion, isolate A1 identified as Bacillus Coagulans indicated the optimal activities when it was grown at pH 6 and at the 14th hour of incubation.Key words: amylase, isolation, enzyme

Abstract

The research has been done to test the arthropod composition of surface soil at coal mining territory in Talawi district. The arthropod samples were taken by pitfall traps (totally 30 pitfall traps) in three different areas. At the first stage, the soil temperature was measured in the field. At the next stage, the soil chemists such as pH, humidity and soil organic, were analyzed in the laboratory. At the area I, the surface soil arthropods collected were from 9 ordo, 26 families, 31 species, and 3609 individuals. Meanwhile at the area II, the arthropods were 12 ordo, 26 families, 31 species, and 2502 individuals. At the last area, the arthropods collected were 12 ordo, 25 families, 28 species and 1272 individuals. Finally, it can be summarized that the arthropod composition on the three surface soils was similar with the similarity index 55.7%. It means the chemical and physical factors of the three areas still optimally supported the surface soil arthropods life cycle.Key words: surface soil, arthropods, composition, coal mining

Abstract

The research to describe the ewe ovarian status post transplanted intrauterine in local pseudo pregnant rabbit had been conducted by using a descriptive method in which the 4 pieces to 4 spaces of ewe ovarian were transplanted to each of the rabbit?s cornua uterine. The description of completed ovarian post the transplanted scored with 4 (90-100% completed), 3 (70-90% completed), 2 (50-70% completed) , and 1 (<50% completed). In the research, the COCs (Cumulus Oophorus Complexes) were collected by slicing method, and then the date of the CoCs was analyzed by ANOVA and DNMRT. The result showed that all ewe ovarian in local pseudo pregnant rabbits post-transplanted were still alive until the fifth or the seventh day of transplantation. Based on the observation and statistic test, in days 5 and 7, it was found a similar status (p<0.05) of post-transplanted ewe ovarian in local and control. The percentages of NZW5 (58.82) COCs decreased significantly (p<0.05) compared to the control (50.36), NZW7 (47.52), local5 (50.42) and local7 (44.78) respectively. It can be concluded that intrauterine transplantation of ewe ovarian to the local and NZW pseudo pregnant rabbits can preserve the ovaries.Key words: ovaries, transplantation, local rabbit, COCs
