Abstract

This research was focused on studying the factors influencing the students? learning outcome, especially for the students of science Department of STAIN Batusangkar. The dependent variable was GPA that reflects the students? learning outcome. The GPA data were categorized into ?fail? (GPA<2.75), and ?successful? (GPA?2.75) that analyzed by using logistic regression and loglinear model. The respondents of this research were 339 students from Math, Physic and Biology Departmen who registered in 2008 - 2010 academic year. The logistic regression analysis showed that there were 3 factors that influence the students? learning outcome significantly; their village, UN mean score and major in high school. The data analysis indicated that the students graduated from Islamic High School had a bigger chance to succes than students from Vocational School. UN mean score also can reflect the academic ability of the student significantly and the approriate major in high school (Science Studies) gave contribution to the students? comprehension. By using loglinear analysis, it is gotten that association effect/ interaction between dependent variable and other variables as controller. The significant variable interaction was the second interaction between the school and the major chosen, while the third interaction has between UN mean score, major, and the school. Keywords: students learning outcome, logistic regression, probability, loglinear models

Abstract

The objective of the research is to describe the mosque committee preparation in arranging the description of loan mosque of orphan and MDA per month. This research is a descriptive reasearch.  In collecting the data, the data will be collected through observation and interview. Those data will be analyzed and interpreted in form of table. If it is possible, the data will be corralted among the variables. Abstract

Pathogenic bacterial ability to cause disease is called patoghenicity. Bacteria pathogenicity level stated as virulency. Bacterial virulency is determined by virulency agent, include certain structure of the cell and secrete produced into substrate. Capsul and slime are specific cell structure which act as virulency agent. Capsul and slime presence is able to prevent phagocytosis by host antibody. This study aimed to confirm presence of capsul and slime produced by pathogenic bacterial isolated from Clarias gariepinus. These pathogens are Alcaligenes sp., Bacillus sp., Micrococcus sp., Proteus sp., Pseudomonas sp., and Serratia sp. This is a descriptive study. Observation has been done to detect intense layer arround the cells by using negative staining methode.  Result of study has informed that Alcaligenes sp., Bacillus sp., Micrococcus sp., Proteus sp., Pseudomonas sp., dan Serratia sp., examined do not form capsul and slime.Key words: Capsul and slime, bacterial pathogen, Clarias gariepinus

Abstract

The gold seashell is known as a source of calcium in hydroxyapatite synthesis [Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2]. The metal contents of the samples were analyzed by AAS.  Then the hydroxyapatite synthesis was done through a hypothermal method. The analysis by FTR indicated the uptake on the tape 1.000 ? 1.200 cm-1. XRD analysis showed a sharp peak with a high intensity on 20 = 31,79o, 27,78o, and 31,09om. The analysis by SEM-EDS indicated that hydroxyapatite had the same particle size, elliptical shape like a bar premises with molar ratio 1.77.Key words: Hydroxyapatite, hydrothermal, gold seashell

Abstract

This research is conducted to apply the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method applied as model of Decision Support System (DSS) in choosing lecturer at STIKOM Pelita Indonesia Pekanbaru. Data collected by through observation and interview done in shares of administration academic at college. Here in after data analyzed to learn the pattern from method used and added with the reference from literature. Experiment done use the Expert Choice software known that method can yield the optimal decision in election instructor staff. Abstract

Photoshop is one of the standard image processing software professionals. Development of digital image manipulation influenced the creative industries, especially photography. To support the creative industries, especially photography, then the required professional standard image processing program that can run without being installed or are installed on the system. Such devices can be used by using media such as USB, MP3 or PDA. Usually packaged in a simple package and can be operated with just a few clicks away. How it works with the emulsion to the environment without touching the system registers. Therefore the system becomes more clear. When the software is connected to a computer, the application can be run directly without having to be installed first. Making a Photoshop Portable Photoshop Installer aim is that the software can be stored and run through an external storage media such as flash. Abstract

Epilitik algae is part of perifitik microalgae which live by sticking on any subtracts such as; rock, coral, and other solid material under water.  Algae has green pigment which is called chlorophyll so it can do photosynthetic.  Some epilitik algae can adapt in his living place.  Cyanophyta is one of algae which lives in any type of habitas such as; pond, stream even land.  It can live in middle or extreme temperature.  Thus this research was conducted for any kind of epilitik algae in hot water source and its stream in Rimbo Panti reservation in Pasaman.  The research was conducted on June 2010 in survey method.  The sample was identified in Biology laboratory of Biology department in STKIP PGRI West Sumatera.  The concentration measuring of sulfur, nitrogen, and phosphate was done in water laboratory of environment technique department of technical faculty of Andalas university Padang.  The parameter which was used are species. Iden-tification key, description, photo specimen, temperature, pH, the concentration of sulfur, nitrogen, phosphate, and dissolved oxygen (DO).  It was found that there are 11 kinds of epilitik algae where three are categorized as chrysophyta division and eight as Cyanophyta.  In the first station there were 3 epilitik algae and 9 epilitik algae at the second station.  The major species which were found in 90o C are Navicula tenella, Ropalodia gibberula and Oscillatoria minima.  Thus, it was found that the total number of species in each station is different.  Epilitik algae was mostly found in hot water source and only few of them was found in its stream.Key words: epilitik algae, hot water source

Abstract

The research was aimed at knowing the effect of adding touge as nitrogen source on the quality of Nata de cacao. The research design used was completely randomized design with six treatments (without nitrogen source, urea 1.5 gr., touge 175 gr, touge 200 gr, touge 225 gr, and touge 250 gr). These were done three times. The parameter tested was thickness, fiber content, and elasticity of nata de cacao. The data obtained were analyzed by using ANOVA and Extended Test BNJ with ? 5%. As the result it was shown that the adding of touge as the nitrogen source and improve the thickness and the fiber content. However the addition of touge with different concentration did not give any effect significantly. For elasticity, the higher fiber contents the chewier nata de cacao. In short, the addition of touge as a nitrogen source effect on the quality of nata de cacao, in terms of its thickness, fiber contents, and plasticity.Key words: nitrogen sources, nata de cacao, acetobacter xylinum

Abstract

The objective of this research is to find out the density of bedbug population in Jorong Mahakarya Kenagarian Koto Baru, sub-district Luhak Nan Duo, Pasaman Barat regency. This research was conducted through a descriptive survey and direct collection of the Scotinophara coarcrata in the area of paddy field by using sticky trap. In order to collect the object, it was ordinal sampling used. Sample collecting was done twice at an interval of the first and the second 20 days. As the result of the first collection, it was gained 617 bedbugs with an average 21.27, and of the second collection was obtained 595 bedbugs with an average 20.52. The number of bedbugs collected in both periods was relatively the same. In this case the Scotinuphara coarctatapopulation has exceeded the limit as pests. Based on the research finding, it can be concluded that the density of bedbug population in paddy fields in Kampung Lima, Jorong Mahakarya kenagarian Koto Baru, sub-district Luhak Nan Duo, Pasaman Barat regency has exceeded the limit as pests.Key words: density, population, Scotinophara coarctata

Abstract

The use of analytical methods in solving some forms of differential equations, specifically the non-linear differential is difficult to conduct. The alternative is by using the numerical method. The numerical method used is the euler method which applies the second order differential equation on an LC series circuit. By using fortran program, the strong current and charge are obtained from t=0 and t=2.5 second.Key words:  Differential Equation, LC series circuit, numerical method, euler method
