Abstract

This study is conducted to identify changes in the magnetic properties of agricultural land due to the use of chemical fertilizers such as urea. Soil profile sampled in this study came from Tarab River District Tanah Datar West Sumatra. Soil sampled from the ground which has not been used as agricultural land and agricultural land that has been using chemical fertilizers. For the initial stage , the identification of changes in the magnetic properties of magnetic susceptibility measurements performed through. Measurements were performed by using two mass -specific frequencies of low and high frequencies of magnetic susceptibility ( ?LF and ?HF ). Measurement of low frequency magnetic susceptibility ( ?LF ) for soil samples that have not been used as agricultural land ranges in the range of 923.8 x 10-8 m3/kg to 1239.8 x 10-8 m3/kg. While the magnetic susceptibility values for soil samples ranged former agricultural land in the range of 546.6 10-8 m3/kg to 848.9 10-8 m3/kg. Based on the results of magnetic susceptibility measurements, its seen a decline in the value of magnetic susceptibility on former farmland soil using chemical fertilizers. Soil samples in this study is dominated by independent frequency SSD and MD grains based on the value of frequency -dependent magnetic susceptibility, c FD ( % ) were < 3 % .Key words: magnetic susceptibility, farmland, chemical fertilizers, frequency dependent magnetic susceptibility, cFD (%)

Abstract

The research has conducted for the analysis of return period of flood over Padang using Iwai?s method. Iwai?s method is a statistical based method to look for a normal distribution. Daily rainfall data observed at seven stations observations were made over the period of analysis to figure out the pattern, then seen his relationship with the MJO. The results of the research obtained monthly rainfall distribution pattern over Padang show equatorial type that has two peaks of rainfall in a year are March and April as the first peak while the second peak in November. Return period rainfall for the 60 days over Padang is 88 mm and is 78 mm in 30 days. Incidence of flooding over Padang in 2000-2010 have a strong relationship with the entry of the MJO phases 3 and 4, is shown from the flood events of 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2009 with a rainfall intensity approaching the calculation of return period 30 - 60 days is 78-88 mm.Key words: Iwai?s Method, return period, flood

Abstract

Coleus scutellarioides is Labiatae. It have much varieties based on the leave shapes and colors. In the identification is not enough based on morpho-logical organ characters, but it can also based on the pollen morphology. The purpose of this study to determine the pollen morphology of seven varieties of Coleus scutellarioides. The research was conducted in the laboratory of Botany Department of Biology, State University of Padang, in April-May 2012. Seven varieties of Coleus used came from Padang Panjang and Lintau Buo. Pollen taken from bloomed flowers and it made be slides used acetolisis methods and 1% safranin staining method. Data were analyzed descriptively included pollen unit, polarity, symmetrically, size, shape, aperture, and the shape of pollen surface. The seven Coleus pollen varieties have similirity of the type of monad pollen unit, polarity isopolar type, radial symmetry, type colpate with 6 aperture located in the equatorial (Stephano), and reticulate surface-shaped pollen. Prolate spheroid shapes found in var. Eleanor, subprolate forms in var. Batique Fetish, var. Fack, var. Apricot, var. Burgundy Giant, var. Eleanor, and var. Flambe. Whereas prolate shapes found in var. Batique Fetish, var. Fack, and var. Va Va Boom. Pollen morphology of seven varieties of Coleus scutellarioides have different shape and the author have found 3 shape of pollen as the prolate spheroidal, subprolate and prolate.Key words: pollen, Coleus scutellarioides, identification

Abstract

Rice and vegetables are the most of agriculture in West Sumatera. These are of environment media that needs reaserched to know how far the radioactivity level. This was done at environment laboratory of PTKMR-BATAN. Step of reaserch has been done as follow determining the location and take the samples, cultivating the samples in laboratory, measuring the samples with LBC and samples analysis. From the result of measurement it shown that the lowest concentrate could be measured by LBC device that was 0,093 mBq/Kg. Sr-90 concentrate into the result of reaserch shown the data with variation from undetected data (0,4749 ± 1,1422)mBq/Kg. Activity concentration Sr-90 which was found in the plants of agriculture result in West Sumatera land are the low than Java island area and lower than found in Japan.Key words: environment media, radioactivity level, LBC.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the number of doors eating quail egg production. The study population quail - coturnic Coturnix japonica strains 500 hatching tails of the results using the incubator. All members of the population have the same criteria include age, weight, health , and gender. The design used in this study is completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 5 replications. Treatment (A) 20 tail with 20 % quail feed doors, treatment (B) 20 tail quail with 40 % door dining, treatment (C) 20 tail quail with 60 % door dining , treatment (D) 20 tail quail with 80% of doors eating, treatment ( E ) 20 tail quail with 100 % door to eat. Further test used is Advanced Test Significant Difference at 5% level. The results showed that the number of doors eating very influential on the production of quail egg. Egg production was highest on the cage doors have eaten as much as the number of quail. Lowest egg production contained in the enclosure that has a door to eat as much as 20 % of the number of quail with the effect of each treatment is very real.Key words: total door eat , quail egg production

Abstract

Iridology is the study of the iris of the eye. Iris is a collection of nerves that are delicate and represent and explain the whole condition of the body. Iridology last five years very rapid progress and by the authors have also developed and applied in the field of fisheries, education and human resource management field as needed. Likewise the case of Kinesiology is the study of the nerves in the arm that had been developed by the experts for the detection of various diseases and are able to explain scientifically the cause of the body's mechanism of electromagnetic waves. In 2010, researchers have been applying both the science to determine the stress level of elementary school students and its relationship with the brain and trigger real stress conditions. The results of these studies indicate that the effect is real. That is both a science or its applications in the form of both knowledge -based techniques can be used to cope with the stress of environmental conditions, including global warming.Key words: engineering , iridology , kinesiology , stress and global warming

Abstract

Why is it important reproductive and endocrine system is important for someone to be learned by studying embryology? Both of these systems, reproductive and endocrine systems are the most interconnected in the study of embryology. For example, when spermatogenesis (sperm for-mation process), will be studied how the male sex glands as the production of sperm, and then at the end of the study as well as the hormonal regulation of spermatogenesis. In the second chapter of this book discussed on the reproductive system, including ultra structure and fsiologis of male and female reproductive systems. In the next section, is also discussed about the endocrine system. Discussion of the endocrine system include terminology, structure, function and mechanism of action of several hormones related to reproductive system and embryology.Key words: reproduction, endocrine, hormone
