Abstract

The absence of an official fandom reference during the initial three months of the boy group CORTIS’s debut triggered identity ambiguity among young Indonesian fans on TikTok. This qualitative study analyzes how digital discourse on the #Ngortis hashtag constructs the social identity of this fan community. Utilizing Rodney H. Jones’s Digital Discourse Analysis combined with Social Identity Theory and Participatory Culture framework, this study purposively examines five selected TikTok video corpuses along with their comment sections posted during October–November 2025. Findings indicate that community identity is formed gradually, beginning with the use of the #Ngortis hashtag as an initial grouping marker, which is then reinforced through mutual-support practices in the comment section, and ultimately merges with the official COER identity through a shared narrative of integration.

Abstract

Generation Z in Indonesia remains concerning, as the 2025 SNLIK data shows a gap between financial inclusion (80.51%) and financial literacy (66.46%) (OJK, 2025). Generation Z is particularly vulnerable due to impulsive financial behaviors driven by FOMO and YOLO lifestyles, making social media a potential channel for financial education. This study analyzes financial literacy content targeting Generation Z on Instagram account @finansialku_com during January to February 2026, using Klaus Krippendorff's qualitative content analysis on 23 content items selected through purposive sampling from 65 uploads. Findings reveal four content categories: financial management, investment and financial planning, digital financial risk, and financial decision-making. Content was delivered simply and contextually through carousel, reels, and single post formats, reflecting digitality, interactivity, and demassification of social media. The dominance of the financial decision-making category indicates that this institutionally accredited account presents financial literacy comprehensively not merely as financial knowledge, but as a framework for critical thinking in navigating financial decisions in the digital age.

Abstract

The increasing use of social media among children has raised concerns regarding exposure to age-inappropriate content, cyberbullying, and digital addiction. This study aims to analyze parents’ reception of the policy message regarding social media use restrictions for children under 16 years old as presented in @kemkomdigi’s Instagram content. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using Stuart Hall’s reception analysis framework. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with eight parents. The findings indicate that five informants were positioned in the dominant-hegemonic category, three in the negotiated category, and none in the oppositional category. Parents’ reception was influenced by digital parenting experiences, perceptions of social media risks, and the need to maintain access to educational content. These findings highlight the important role of parents in the reception of government digital policy communication.

Abstract

Interpersonal Communication between Parents and Firstborn Children Experiencing Quarter Life Crisis in Surabaya City. This study analyses interpersonal communication between parents and firstborn children experiencing Quarter Life Crisis in Surabaya. A descriptive-interpretive qualitative approach was used through in-depth interviews with six firstborn children aged 22-27 and their parents, supported by observation and documentation. The findings reveal that the crisis is shaped by career anxiety, family expectations, and the firstborn’s symbolic responsibility. Firstborn children disclose selectively because they feel required to appear mature and reliable. Parental support becomes meaningful when it produces emotional safety, empathy, and non-judgmental responses.

Abstract

Development of a Real-Time Web-Based Queuing System Using CodeIgniter 3 and WebSocket for Cashier Services in a Manufacturing Company. In manufacturing companies, manual queuing systems for administrative services lead to disorder, queue congestion, verbal calls that often go unheard, and the absence of digital records for service evaluation. These problems are particularly evident in the cashier process, which serves many suppliers daily. This study aims to develop a web-based digital queuing system using CodeIgniter 3, WebSocket for real-time updates, and SQL Server integrated with the company's internal systems. Development followed a Hybrid Waterfall–RAD method, combining structured stages with prototyping flexibility. The application consists of three main modules, namely a QR Code-based supplier registration form, an admin dashboard for queue management and monitoring, and a public display. The system was implemented as a case study at a manufacturing company. Testing results show that the system replaced the undocumented manual process with an automated, digitally recorded queuing service, improving cashier service effectiveness, particularly in orderly calling and service accountability toward suppliers.

Abstract

The circulation of disguised pornographic advertisements on Platform X reflects the misuse of digital public space through hijacked viral topics, censored images of women’s bodies, and affiliate links promoting adult products. This study explores how active Platform X users interpret this phenomenon from a gender perspective. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research draws on Berger and Luckmann’s Social Construction Theory, van Zoonen’s Gender and Media Consumption Theory, and Sandra Harding’s Standpoint Theory. Eight active users, including four men and four women aged 18–35, were purposively selected. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, digital documentation, and a literature review. The findings show that male participants viewed these advertisements as information disruption and exploitation of women’s bodies, while female participants associated them with insecurity, image misuse, and objectification. Most users responded by ignoring, blocking, or reporting the accounts.

Abstract

The rapid development of Indonesia's skincare industry has intensified competition through various marketing communication strategies. The phenomenon of science washing has made Generation Z increasingly critical in evaluating product claims, making rational message appeal a key factor in shaping consumer attitudes. This study aims to analyze the relationship between rational message appeal in skincare advertisements and the attitudes of Generation Z consumers in Surabaya. Using a quantitative associative approach, data were collected via an online questionnaire from 143 purposively sampled respondents. Data analysis involved validity, reliability, normality, linearity tests, Pearson and Spearman correlation, and simple linear regression. The results reveal a highly significant positive relationship (r=0.943, p<0.001), indicating that factual, evidence-based information effectively influences Generation Z's attitudes through the central route of the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM).
