Abstract

The rise of social media and digital platforms has transformed CSR communication from formal reporting into more visual, interactive, and participatory practices. This study examines digital storytelling as a strategic approach in CSR communication within the digital creative economy era. Using a qualitative approach and integrative literature review, five key themes are identified: emotional engagement, community representation, stakeholder involvement, sustainability visualization, and collaboration with digital creators. Findings reveal that digital storytelling serves as a strategic tool to enhance social legitimacy, public engagement, and corporate sustainability representation through digital platforms. Additionally, social storytelling fosters symbolic relationships with communities by highlighting narratives of social impact and empowerment. However, the study also highlights risks of symbolic CSR and the commodification of social narratives in digital environments. This article contributes to CSR communication scholarship by integrating digital storytelling, sustainability communication, and the creative economy, offering practical insights for developing authentic, participatory, and transparent sustainability strategies.

Abstract

Improving the quality of digital academic services in higher education requires systems that are fast, responsive, structured, and accountable. While chatbots are commonly used as digital service tools, their implementation often focuses on conversation rather than effective management of service processes. This study develops workflow automation using n8n, a node automation tool, to support academic service tasks. Employing the Design Science Research (DSR) methodology, the research includes problem identification, solution design, artifact development, and system evaluation. The result is a modular, reusable, node-based workflow automation model that manages academic service processes. Evaluation across four different service scenarios demonstrated that the workflows operated as intended, enhancing service accessibility, process clarity, and consistency in service delivery. This model offers a practical framework for higher education institutions to adopt and implement efficient digital academic services.

Abstract

This study develops a web-based network monitoring and billing management system integrated with MikroTik API at AB Network, an internet service provider serving 624 active customers. The main issues addressed are the absence of real-time network monitoring and poorly integrated billing processes, which can lead to delayed fault detection and inaccurate customer data management. The system was developed using the Waterfall method, integrating MikroTik routers, a MySQL database, and WhatsApp Gateway to support network monitoring, customer management, automated billing, and notification delivery. Testing results show an average MikroTik API response time of 0.83 seconds and WhatsApp notification delivery time of 4.1 seconds, with 100% success in data synchronization and automated processes. The system effectively enhances real-time network monitoring, improves customer management efficiency, and provides more integrated and transparent services. Further load testing and performance evaluation are recommended for future development.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem in toddlers that affects physical growth and cognitive development. In Sumberwaru Village, stunting data management is still done manually through Posyandu notebooks and written reports, which causes reporting delays and the risk of recording errors. This study aims to develop a web-based Geographic Information System (GIS) to visualize stunting data in toddlers to support more effective data management, monitoring, and spatial analysis. This study uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with a Waterfall development model, consisting of needs analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The system was developed using JavaScript and MySQL and tested by 50 users consisting of Posyandu cadres, KPM officers, and village staff. Black-box testing showed that all main functions of the system operated successfully, while usability evaluation using a Likert-scale questionnaire produced an average score of 97.12%, indicating that the system is easy to use and useful for operational activities. The developed system enables faster and more structured management of toddler and stunting data and provides digital map visualization to identify areas with high stunting prevalence.

Abstract

The Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) policy has elicited diverse responses on social media platform X, necessitating sentiment analysis to objectively understand public opinion. This study employs Support Vector Machine (SVM) with TF-IDF weighting to classify 3,796 opinion data into positive, negative, and neutral sentiments. Results show the SVM model achieves an accuracy of 76.05%. Public perception is predominantly positive (1,431 data), followed by neutral (1,258), and negative (1,107). Word Cloud analysis indicates optimism based on hopes for improved student nutrition, while negative opinions highlight concerns about food safety and budget transparency. In conclusion, MBG enjoys strong public support, but the government should prioritize food safety and transparent financial management to reduce public unrest. Identifying negative sentiments provides a basis for critical evaluation and future policy improvements.

Abstract

Stable internet availability is crucial for disaster coordination, especially in volcanic hazard areas where terrestrial communication infrastructure is vulnerable to physical disruptions. This study evaluates the Quality of Service (QoS) performance of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite internet based on Starlink and compares it with the best available cellular network in regions affected by the Mount Semeru eruption. Using a quantitative experimental approach with a descriptive-comparative design, field tests were conducted at multiple locations. QoS parameters analyzed include throughput, latency, jitter, and packet loss. Results show that Starlink's throughput is higher in several locations, with lower latency (30.80–53.00 ms), and zero packet loss on wired connections. These findings suggest that Starlink is a viable alternative for emergency communication, provided that terminal placement and environmental conditions are carefully managed.

Abstract

Manual attendance at MA Sabilil Mukarromah is vulnerable to proxy attendance, data inaccuracies, and delayed information for parents. This study develops a web-based student attendance system with WhatsApp Gateway notifications using the Waterfall method, Laravel PHP, MySQL, face-api.js, Geolocation API, and Fonnte API. The system supports five user roles (admin, teacher, homeroom teacher, student, and parent) with layered validation via GPS geolocation and face recognition. Notifications are sent in real-time for each attendance event, including digital permission requests and alpha sanctions management. Black box testing of 14 components confirmed all scenarios produced expected results without errors. Face recognition testing on 6 students achieved 83.3% accuracy, with failures only under low light conditions. The WhatsApp Gateway achieved a 66.7% delivery rate with an average latency of 5 seconds, supporting more effective, accurate, and transparent attendance management.

Abstract

Sumberwaru Village faces challenges of poverty and low education levels that have not been spatially mapped. Social data has only been presented in Excel tables, making it difficult to understand visually. This study develops a web based geographic information system using PHP, MySQL, and Leaflet.js through a descriptive qualitative method. The system features three user roles village residents, operators, and the village head with a structured data management workflow. The poverty map displays colored markers based on five BPS categories, while the education map uses icons according to the household head education level. Black Box testing shows all main features function as expected, with 200 sample households successfully mapped spatially in the system. This system is expected to support more targeted decision-making and improve social data monitoring efficiency at the village level.
