Abstract

The movement of overseas students to their university's city often leads to cultural clashes and adaptation challenges. Open communication within families, akin to the pluralistic family model, is crucial amid these challenges. Cultural clashes, exemplified by sexual issues on Telkom University's campus, underscore the parental role in providing positive sexual education to enhance students' awareness. This study aims to explore how parental communication, particularly in pluralistic families, influences overseas students' sexual education and awareness. Using qualitative methods, including in-depth interviews and observations, the research reveals the significant impact of parental communication on sexual education at Telkom University. Pluralistic families employ open communication, acting as friends to facilitate effective advice reception. Parental messages greatly influence students' attitudes toward sexual education.

Abstract

Seafaring families maintain strong emotional and social bonds despite physical separation, with the head of the family often away for 7-9 months annually. While Pengkol Village benefits economically from residents working as cruise ship sailors, family cohesion faces risks. Parents serve as crucial communicators, fostering healthy relationships across distances. Overcoming challenges requires dedication, especially from parents, to uphold psychological well-being and familial harmony. This study explores communication identity in building shipping families' integrity in Pengkol Village, utilizing qualitative methods. Data collection involves interviews and observations. The researcher found gossiping prevalent, particularly among shipping families, who often adopt a "let it go" attitude, emphasizing the importance of transparent communication and trust to sustain unity and harmony.

Abstract

The BRI Incubator program is designed to enhance the capabilities of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through three primary focus areas: Go-Modern, Go-Digital, and Go-Online. The Go-Modern initiative aims to educate MSMEs on effective product packaging tailored to market demands, thereby increasing competitiveness. The Go-Digital initiative equips MSMEs with the skills to leverage digital platforms and social media for promotional purposes, expanding their market reach. Lastly, the Go-Online initiative empowers MSMEs to market their products via online marketplaces or to develop their own platforms for wider distribution. This research seeks to explore the public relations marketing strategies employed by the BRI Incubator to elevate the performance of the MSMEs under its guidance. Employing a qualitative methodology with a phenomenological approach, the study investigates the experiences and perceptions of program participants. The findings reveal that the success stories of BRI Incubator participants contribute significantly to the development of a strong brand image for the BRI Incubator, thereby enhancing its reputation and effectiveness.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of family communication on the independence of children with intellectual disabilities at the SLB C Terate Foundation. It highlights the prevalence of congenital abnormalities among newborns in Indonesia and the rising global incidence of intellectual disabilities. Utilizing the Family Communication Pattern Theory (FCPT), the research investigates how different family conversation orientations affect the development of these children. Effective communication is identified as a combination of consistent emotional support, direct guidance, an open environment, collaboration between families and educators, and the use of appropriate communication strategies. The findings offer practical recommendations for families and educational institutions aiming to enhance the autonomy of children with intellectual disabilities. This research emphasizes the crucial role of family communication in fostering the development of these children and advocates for a collaborative approach to inclusive education, contributing to a more equitable society.

Abstract

This research develops a decision support system using the Rule-Based Decision Support System (RB-DSS) method to enhance transparency and communication between the school and parents of students at SMK Bandung 1 Percut Sei Tuan, Deli Serdang. The research methodology involves data collection through literature reviews, interviews, and direct field observations. The collected data is analyzed and processed using the RB-DSS algorithm. The criteria included in the decision support system encompass academic grades, attendance, school fee payments, and environmental development. The study demonstrates that the RB-DSS decision support system can deliver more precise and effective results, significantly improving transparency and communication between the school and parents within the school environment. This enhanced communication fosters a collaborative atmosphere, ensuring that parents are well-informed and actively engaged in their children's educational progress

Abstract

This research aims to examine the influence of actors' positions in communication networks and the role of fantasy themes in Palestinian donation comments on the Nusantara Palestine Center YouTube channel. Employing social network analysis through Labspolsys and Gephi 0.10, the study focuses on the video titled "Extraordinary: Indonesian Citizens Finally Provide Clean Water Assistance for Palestine." The principal findings indicate that key actors such as @Rio_naldo, @Arifhidayat26190, @Anonymous5580, and @Vinijulvia exhibit significant capabilities in disseminating information. These actors contribute to the analysis of fantasy themes that reflect aspirations and values, including justice, freedom, solidarity, hope, change, and religiosity. The results suggest that fantasy themes in comments can shape public perceptions of social movements and bolster support. However, this research is limited in its ability to generalize findings to a broader population. In conclusion, this study sheds light on the role of fantasy themes in influencing narratives and perceptions of Palestinian donation social movements on digital platforms such as YouTube

Abstract

Event management plays an important role in the success of an event and should be implemented during its execution, especially for important events such as corporate events. This research was conducted to implement the event management design for the Expert Insight Special Episode Marketing Talks "Unlocking Marketing Potential: The Power of AI" at Telkom CorpU, a company that regularly organizes online webinar series. This research successfully attracted 306 participants, with 62.3% of 151 participants stating that they were very satisfied and 37.1% satisfied with this event. Additionally, 58% of participants liked the event based on the content provided, and 38.4% were interested in the event's speakers. This study was carried out using observation and documentation methods and utilized Goldblatt's event management theory to support the success of this event. The results of this study concluded that the event management design in this webinar successfully made the event more structured and organized in managing human resources, teamwork, and creativity.

Abstract

Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) hosts numerous Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) that offer food and beverages. However, these MSMEs face challenges in reaching a broader customer base due to insufficient marketing efforts. This research aims to develop an E-Canteen website to enhance their income. The E-Canteen website serves as an online platform enabling MSMEs to sell their products to UNJ students, lecturers, and employees. The development of the E-Canteen website employs the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology with a Prototyping approach. The findings of this study indicate that the E-Canteen website significantly aids MSMEs within the Jakarta State University environment in increasing their revenue. By leveraging digital technology, the website facilitates more efficient customer interactions, ultimately boosting MSME visibility and sales

Abstract

This article discusses the importance of Journalistic Ethics in the 2024 Election News on Metro TV. Television as a political communication medium is very effective in delivering information to the public. Political parties utilize television to convey their vision, address community issues, and build public support. Journal Ethics, as a set of ethical guidelines for journalists, is essential to ensure integrity and professionalism in reporting. This article highlights the importance of journalistic ethics based on Law No.40 of 1999 on the Indonesian Journalist Code of Ethics (KEWI), which aims to improve media integrity. The research used a qualitative method with descriptive analysis to identify ethical issues in the coverage of the 2024 General Election on Metro TV. Findings included a lack of transparency, non-neutral language, lack of information verification, sensational reporting, and the need for Metro TV's commitment to ethical journalism to improve the quality of reporting.

Abstract

A radio announcer plays an important role in delivering information and entertainment to listeners. Where female broadcasters have the ability to manage impressions during the program. The purpose of the research is to find out the radio announcer in self-presentation by building an image on the front stage and back stage as a female announcer. The method used is Qualitative Method with Dramaturgy Theory approach by Goffman. The results showed that the front stage setting, female broadcasters have done in accordance with regional settings such as appearance, behavior style, intonation, speaking speed and body language. Backstage usually broadcasters make preparations before broadcasting by looking for material, managing emotions and entering into their lives as housewives, teachers and marketing staff, besides that. While seen from the image, making efforts to interact with professional listeners in accordance with radio station regulations. The impact of this message management not only helps broadcasters in building a strong relationship with the audience but also contributes to the progress and professionalism of the radio, which will give the trust of the audience and will attract advertisements and sponsors for the radio.
