Abstract

The development of technology, digital media, and social media is inversely proportional to the low level of digital literacy in society. When the use of these media is not wise, the information conveyed within them can be misleading. This study aims to analyze the differences in the influence of information dissemination on the social media platforms Instagram and Whatsapp. The method used in this research is a systematic literature review using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses) method. From all the literature that has been reviewed, it is broadly concluded that social media, particularly Instagram and Whatsapp, have a significant influence, albeit with different scales, targets, and methods of delivery.

Abstract

This study addresses the decreasing interest in traditional television viewing, prompting Liputan 6 SCTV to utilize YouTube as an information dissemination platform. The role of Production Assistant News is critical in creating engaging content to enhance audience engagement on the Liputan 6 SCTV YouTube channel. The objective of this study is to explore how Production Assistant News contributes to increasing audience interaction and engagement. Using a descriptive qualitative research method, data were collected through observations, interviews, documentation, and literature reviews. The findings reveal that Production Assistant News plays a significant role in producing compelling Video on Demand (VOD) content, which leads to increased public preference for Liputan 6 SCTV as an information source. The successful implementation of this role is evidenced by a notable rise in subscribers, viewers, likes, and engagement metrics, as recorded by YouTube Studio.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the media framing of the exploitation of child labor in the entertainment industry in the form of a documentary film. The research method used is the framing analysis of the Zhongdang Pan & Kosicki model with a research focus on scenes that illustrate the exploitation that occurs to Bjorn as the main character. The research results found show that Mantaray Film as a media company that produces documentary films tries to emphasize the exploitation events that have occurred are real. This can be seen from the presentation of factual events in the form of many previous archives and sources with different relationships. Other framings formed as a factor in the exploitation are Bjorn's helplessness due to loneliness and society's perception of children as fragile individuals, as well as the feminine side that envelops the ideology of masculinity as a new idea in the entertainment industry.

Abstract

Data loss is a prevalent issue encountered by computer users, often arising from accidental formatting of storage media. This study examines a specific instance of data loss on a flash disk due to accidental formatting and evaluates the efficacy of Wondershare Recoverit, a widely-used data recovery application. The research employs a case study approach, simulating a scenario in which a flash disk is inadvertently formatted, leading to data loss. The findings indicate that Wondershare Recoverit is an effective tool for recovering data lost due to formatting. The application features an intuitive and user-friendly interface, making it accessible to users with varying levels of technical expertise. Wondershare Recoverit can recover a wide range of file types, including photos, videos, documents, and other files lost due to formatting. Furthermore, the application supports data recovery from various storage devices, such as internal and external hard drives and other media

Abstract

In the automotive spare parts industry, efficient supply chain management is the backbone of operational success. Amidst this complex ecosystem, companies face challenges in delivering fast, reliable, and competitive services, accommodating a constantly evolving consumer base with discerning preferences and rising expectations. This article aims to identify challenges in developing tracking and delivery scheduling applications for the automotive spare parts industry and improve system performance by introducing effective solutions. The research adopts a system development approach using the Waterfall method to produce a responsive and user-friendly web application, followed by functional testing using Black Box and evaluation using the System Usability Scale (SUS). Development of the tracking and delivery scheduling application using the Waterfall method resulted in a reliable and responsive application, with all system functionalities running smoothly. SUS testing indicated that the application has a good level of usability, with an average score of 77.5 out of 100. This study successfully provides relevant and efficient technological solutions to overcome operational barriers in the automotive spare parts industry, with the potential to enhance customer satisfaction and solidify the company's position as a pioneer in the automotive aftermarket sector. However, further improvements in application usability can be achieved through future iterations guided by user feedback and additional usability testing.

Abstract

Social media may have been glorified as something helpful, easy and convenient but as we all know it must have two sides of a coin. Social media does have quite a lot of bad sides. Unfortunately, the majority of mass media only share the good and glorify it, without telling the dark side of it that is even more complex than it explained. This study uses a qualitative approach with Stuart Hall’s reception analysis theory to understand the audience's role in generating meaning of digital literacy. The literature review highlights the previous research on the spread of misinformation and the solutions proposed by tech giants and experts, which aligns with the current research on digital literacy for social media. Through this research participants show that they understand digital literacy better after watching “The Social Dilemma” documentary film. Digital literacy is a very important skill that people must understand. This film proves that digital literacy can be taught and understood by watching this film

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explain the communication strategy applied by Brand X in the diffusion process of their alternative channel innovation. As one of the top brands of low/sugar-free sweetener brands, Brand X innovates alternative channels to answer the opportunities that present themselves. This research focuses on the stages of innovation-decision process, namely the knowledge stage, persuasion stage, decision stage, implementation stage and confirmation stage. The research method used is qualitative research method and data is collected through interviews and documentation studies. The results of this research show that at the knowledge stage, communicators conduct surveys and observations to each retail destination before introducing the innovation. This activity helps communicators in recognizing retail needs and becomes a reference in developing messages at the persuasion stage. At the decision stage, communicators utilize social media to establish communication with retailers who reject the innovation with the aim of building interpersonal relationships. At the implementation stage, communicators help retailers implement the innovation. However, it was found that in Samarinda, the communication at the confirmation stage was not consistent.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought significant changes to daily life, including in the world of education. Overseas students, especially the class of 2020 at Telkom University, experience unique challenges in adapting to a new environment amid restrictions caused by the pandemic. This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of culture shock and the adaptation process carried out by overseas students at Telkom University, Bandung. Using a qualitative approach with phenomenological methods, this study explores the personal experiences of overseas students from various provinces in Indonesia, especially those from Medan. The results showed that students experienced various levels of culture shock influenced by changes in learning methods from face-to-face to online, limited social interaction, and regional cultural differences. The adaptation process involved strategies such as blending into the new environment, using technology in communication, and adjusting to new learning methods. This research provides insight into the importance of academic and social support for overseas students in dealing with culture shock and adaptation in the post-COVID-19 pandemic higher education environment

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of @Makanansmr Instagram content on increasing Hidden Wings brand awareness. This type of research is quantitative. The data collection techniques used in this research are library research and questionnaires. The population of this study are @makanansmr followers who watch hidden wings review content impressions. Determination of the sample in this study using the Lemeshow formula. The number of samples in this study were 100 respondents. The data analysis technique used is quantitative with the help of SPSS 24 software. The result of this study is that there is a significant relationship between the content posted on the @makanansmr Instagram account and Brand Awareness for the "hidden wings" brand. The research has carefully tested the validity and reliability of the measurement instruments, the results of which show that the instruments are reliable for measuring the variables under study.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the framing of Kal-Tim tourism news on online media Detik.Com and Tribunkaltim.Co. This research method is qualitative. This research uses the framing analysis model of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki.   The data sources used are secondary data sources. The data collection techniques used in this research are through documentation and observation (observation). The results of this study are that the framing of tourism news in East Kalimantan by online media Detik.com and TribunKaltim.co, shows that both consistently adopt the framing of sustainable development and economic improvement of local communities. Detik.com, through its news stories that include titles such as "Don't Expect Disneyland-like Tourism in IKN" and "Tourism Concept in the Archipelago's Capital City Will Be 'Green-green,'" emphasizes aspects of environmental preservation and sustainable development. In line with that, TribunKaltim.co also strengthens the framing of sustainable development with a focus on ecotourism and environmental preservation. Both media actively provide support for the development of the Indonesia Nusantara Special Economic Zone (KEK) in East Kalimantan, creating a positive narrative regarding the economic potential and environmental preservation that can be generated through the development of the tourism sector.
