Abstract

This study aims to analyze meaning-making in AI-based podcast content entitled ‘Kalo Tokoh Cerita Rakyat Boleh Curhat’ on the Instagram account @cantingcreative. Using a qualitative approach, the research applies Kress and van Leeuwen’s multimodal analysis, focusing on visual, linguistic, and audio modes, supported by the theory of mediatization of culture proposed by Hjarvard and Hepp. The data consist of five episodes with the highest engagement selected from the series. The findings reveal that folklore is transformed from traditional narratives into dialogic and multimodal digital content. Folklore characters are represented in contemporary forms through visual aesthetics, conversational language, and podcast formats. The study also identifies integrated product placement within the narrative. This research concludes that AI-based podcasts represent a process of cultural mediatization, in which folklore adapts to the logic of social media and the digital economy.

Abstract

Digital security awareness is an essential competency for students in dealing with online risks. This study aims to compare the effectiveness of two serious game genres, namely visual novel and quiz mini game, in improving digital security awareness among junior high school students. A descriptive qualitative approach with descriptive quantitative support was employed, involving 27 students from a single junior high school class. The research procedure included a pre-test, gameplay sessions of a visual novel (approximately 20 minutes) and a quiz mini game (approximately 15 minutes), a post-test, and semi-structured interviews. Pre-test and post-test data were analyzed descriptively, while interview data were examined using thematic analysis. The results indicate that visual novels are more effective in fostering conceptual understanding through contextual narratives, whereas quiz mini games are more effective in enhancing learning motivation through interactive challenges. These findings suggest that a hybrid learning model combining both genres has the potential to optimize students’ conceptual understanding and learning motivation in digital security education.

Abstract

This study examines the practices of verbal and non-verbal violence found in Instagram reels contentby @mastercobuzier in response to public criticism of the (MBG) Program. Using Rodney H. Jones’s digital discourse analysis approach, this research explores how violence is produced and normalized through text, context, interactional actions, and power relations. The findings reveal forms of verbal violence such as the utterances “pala lu PA!”, “gue tabok!”, and “sekaya apa ente?”, which function as symbolic intimidation. Non-verbal elements including heightened intonation, pointing gestures, and emojis amplify the aggression and shape audience reception. The content shifts policy criticism into moral judgment of individuals, constructing the student who voiced criticism as improper and illegitimate. Ideologically, this pattern demonstrates elitist populism, in which public figures employ moral authority to silence criticism. Audience responses reveal the reproduction of symbolic violence through sarcastic comments, emphasizing that these power dynamics are not merely local phenomena but reflect global patterns in how public figures and digital platforms shape aggressive communication norms across cultures.

Abstract

This study examines parental communication patterns in guiding children’s gadget use and identifies the challenges that arise in everyday parenting practices in Satriamekar Village, North Tambun District, Bekasi Regency. The research adopts a constructivist paradigm with a qualitative descriptive phenomenological approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving three parents, three children aged 7–16 years who actively use digital devices, and one psychologist as a supporting informant. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, while credibility was ensured through source and method triangulation, member checking, and peer debriefing. The findings reveal three dominant communication patterns: (1) authoritarian, characterized by unilateral instructions and strict control; (2) permissive, marked by broad freedom with minimal supervision; and (3) authoritative or democratic, which combines clear boundaries with dialogue and mutual agreement. Among these, the authoritative pattern most effectively fosters children’s awareness of digital risks, acceptance of rules, and self-regulation in gadget use. The study also identifies key obstacles, including limited parental time, low digital literacy, inconsistent rule enforcement, peer pressure, pervasive digital culture, and communication tensions within the family.

Abstract

This research uses a blockchain-based system for audit logging that relies on Quorum IBFT to ensure that data can't be altered and to handle potential server failures. The AuditLog smart contract was placed on a network of 7 validators, all of which were connected to each other. Logs were processed in batches every 5 minutes, which led to a logging rate of 0.0954 logs per second, or about 8,244 logs each day, with an efficiency gain of 2 to 9 times. When analyzing 651 transactions, the average time to confirm a log was 6.16 seconds, and 81.8% of them were confirmed within 2 to 5 seconds. Tests showed that the system can handle up to 2 failed nodes, but if 3 nodes stop working, the system can't reach agreement and stops creating new blocks, proving that the IBFT system works as intended. The system also sends real-time alerts via Telegram every 5 seconds, giving early warnings about any problems. A review of the smart contract confirmed that it can't be changed because it doesn’t have functions like editLog(), deleteLog(), or updateLog(). The contract has five functions: addLog, addLogBatch, getLog, getLogCount, and logs. These only allow adding data or viewing it, ensuring that logs are permanent and can’t be changed, with proof through cryptographic transaction hashes. This solution provides better audit trails than traditional databases because it uses built-in immutability, transparency across a network, cryptographic proof that can't be denied, and the ability to handle server failures. It is suitable for important systems like government infrastructure, financial systems, and security monitoring.

Abstract

The decline in foreign tourist arrivals in Bali in 2025 represents a critical issue, given ‎the strategic role of tourism in regional economic development and community welfare. This ‎phenomenon occurs amid intensified global tourism competition and significant changes in ‎international travel behavior. This study aims to examine the dynamics of declining foreign ‎tourist arrivals in Bali and to identify the key factors influencing this trend. A descriptive ‎qualitative approach was employed by analyzing tourism-related conditions and phenomena ‎without relying on interview-based data. The findings indicate that the decline in foreign tourist ‎arrivals is driven by an interplay of global and local factors, including global economic ‎uncertainty, shifts in tourist preferences, destination overcrowding, environmental concerns, and ‎the perceived quality of tourism experiences. The impact of this decline extends beyond the core ‎tourism sector to supporting industries and local communities that depend on tourism-related ‎activities. These findings emphasize the need for adaptive and sustainable tourism management ‎strategies to strengthen Bali’s competitiveness as an international tourism destination amid ‎evolving global tourism dynamics.‎

Abstract

This study aims to examine the public communication of the Indonesian Government in handling the flash flood disaster in Sumatra, at the end of 2025. The theory used in this study is the Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT), developed by W. Timothy Coombs, with two assumptions, namely crisis response strategy, and crisis responsibility. The method used is a desk study, by tracing several keywords: government public communication; disaster management; flash flood; through searching Scopus Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis journals, print and electronic media coverage during the Sumatra flash flood disaster, from November 24, 2025 to January 15, 2026, impacts, losses, recovery, and especially the stages in the Indonesian Government's handling of the Sumatra flash flood disaster. The results of the study indicate that the current Prabowo Government does not yet have a measurable, integrated and planned disaster management procedure. This has resulted in inadequate Public Communication, especially in disaster management such as that which occurred in Sumatra. SCCT analysis shows that the Prabowo administration is employing a recovery strategy through apologies, although the exact compensation and corrective actions are unclear. In terms of public communication, the Prabowo administration is still considered slow, uncoordinated, and lacks specific guidelines, particularly for disaster management, particularly the flash floods in Sumatra.

Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a chronic disease with a continuously increasing prevalence rate and requires early detection to prevent disease progression. This study aims to optimize the performance of the K-Nearest Neighbor (K-NN) algorithm in the classification of chronic kidney disease through the application of the Random Forest method. The dataset used comes from Kaggle and consists of 400 patient data with 26 clinical attributes. The research stages include data pre-processing in the form of handling missing values, categorical data transformation, feature normalization, and data division into training data and test data with a ratio of 80:20. Random Forest is used as a comparison method and optimization approach, while K-NN is used as the main classification algorithm. Model performance evaluation is carried out using accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and confusion matrix metrics. The test results show that the Random Forest algorithm obtains an accuracy value of 98.75%, while the K-NN algorithm produces an accuracy of 96.25%. These results prove that the application of Random Forest is able to optimize the performance of K-NN in the classification of chronic kidney disease effectively.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major infectious disease in Indonesia, while the identification of patient severity levels in healthcare facilities is often time-consuming due to manual assessment of medical records. At Puskesmas Bonang 1, TB cases increased from 41 in 2023 to 57 in 2024, yet no data-driven analytical system is available to support rapid and objective risk evaluation. This study utilizes 2,546 TB patient medical records from 2023–2024 and applies preprocessing, normalization, encoding, clustering using K-Means, and the development of both baseline and hybrid models. The evaluation results indicate that the Hybrid K-Means + Random Forest model with hyperparameter tuning outperforms the standalone Random Forest model. The baseline Random Forest achieved an accuracy of 81.72% with an F1-Score of 80.98%, while the Hybrid + Tuning model obtained an accuracy of 82.51% and an F1-Score of 81.34%. This improvement demonstrates that cluster-based features extracted using K-Means successfully enhance data representation and improve the predictive performance of Tuberculosis severity risk classification.
