Abstract

This study is motivated by environmental issues and ecological awareness in contemporary society, which are never-ending. Literature plays an important role in conveying environmental issues through an ecological lens in works such as short stories, novels, and poetry. This study analyzes several selected short stories from the 2024 edition of Kompas published on the Kompas.id website about environmental damage in a rural area. Through Gifford's pastoral ecocriticism and literary sociology, it is hoped that authors can be assisted in conveying messages expressed through the conflict between traditional values and modernity, as well as their impact on the surrounding ecosystem. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach that highlights the concept of pastoral literature in understanding the interaction between humans, nature, and social transformation. The results of the analysis show that several of these short stories present pastoral themes through bucolic elements, Arcadian constructions, idylls, nostalgia, and georgics, as well as discourses of retreat and return, focusing on the beauty of the countryside and traditions that are in harmony with nature. Conflicts arise due to the influence of modernity, such as land exploitation and cultural value shifts that cause ecosystem damage and an identity crisis for local communities. Georgic elements show the community's efforts to preserve their ancestral lands as a symbol of ecological and social sustainability. Several of these short stories successfully represent contemporary environmental issues and invite readers to reflect on the importance of maintaining a balanced relationship between humans and nature.This study is motivated by environmental issues and ecological awareness in contemporary society, which are never-ending. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi hutan dalam novel Anak Penyamun dalam Rimba karya Mochtar Lubis dengan pendekatan ekokritik. Metode penelitian adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa kutipan-kutipan teks yang mengandung deskripsi hutan, interaksi manusia dengan alam, dan elemen-elemen ekokritik. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui analisis dokumen terhadap keseluruhan isi novel dengan cara membaca dan menelaah teks secara mendalam. Pembacaan dilakukan secara berulang untuk mengidentifikasi secara cermat bentuk-bentuk hubungan manusia dengan alam, deskripsi lingkungan, dan nilai-nilai ekologis dalam cerita. Seluruh kutipan yang relevan diberikan kode sehingga membentuk kategori awal analisis. Analisis data mengikuti model interaktif yang meliputi tahap pengumpulan data, kondensasi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan 1) konsep hutan rimba yang dibagi menjadi tiga, yakni a) hutan rimba yang lebat dan susah terjangkau oleh manusia, b) hutan sebagai tempat yang penuh keanekaragaman flora dan fauna yang memberikan nilai estetika kepada manusia, dan c) hutan sebagai tempat yang penuh dengan kesejukan dan keindahan untuk merenung, bermeditasi, dan mencari makna hidup, 2) Penelitian ini menemukan pergeseran makna perhutanan sosial, yakni a) hutan sebagai sarang penyamun yang menunjukkan persepsi manusia terhadap hutan dapat berubah seiring dengan waktu dan konteks sosial, dan b) hutan sebagai tempat penambangan ilegal yang menunjukkan manusia dapat merusak lingkungan demi kepentingan pribadi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan struktur bahasa dalam buku Pelesetan Republik Indonesia karya R. Keliek Sumaryoto. Di dalam buku tersebut terdapat variasi bahasa pelesetan yang mengandung kelucuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan ancangan teoretis struktur wacana, Data penelitian berupa kata, frase dan kalimat yang dihimpun melalui teknik simak dan catat sesuai dengan fokus penelitian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan struktur bahasa dalam buku pelesetan yaitu, aspek fonologis (bunyi bahasa) mencakup substitusi bunyi, penambahan bunyi, penghilangan bunyi dan permutasi bunyi. Aspek morfemis (bentuk kata) meliputi kata, singkatan dan akronim. Sementara itu, aspek sintaksis (hubungan antar kata) berwujud pepatah, kalimat dan ungkapan. Pergeseran atau perubahan bunyi, bentuk kata dan hubungan antarkata dalam wacana humor menjadi stragtegi membalut makna untuk menciptakan kelucuan. Hasil peneitian ini memberikan wawasan pemahaman struktur pelesetan dari berbagai aspek linguistik.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital culture, characterized by instant access to information, has fostered an "instant culture" that significantly impacts literacy practices, particularly literary literacy. This phenomenon raises concerns about declining interest in conventional literary works. However, amid these challenges, cyber literature (cybersastra) emerges as an adaptive form of literature in digital spaces, offering potential solutions to enhance literary literacy. This study aims to examine the role of cybersastra in improving literary literacy amid the increasingly dominant digital culture. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through questionnaires distributed to students, university students, and teachers active in digital environments. The instrument was disseminated via Google Forms and analyzed using thematic descriptive techniques, including frequency and percentage tabulation, followed by narrative interpretation to uncover patterns and meanings within the responses. The results reveal that instant culture has changed how people access and consume information, yet cybersastra has proven to be an appealing and accessible alternative form of literacy aligned with the digital habits of the current generation. Respondents acknowledged that cybersastra enhances reading interest and is relevant for educational purposes, provided it is accompanied by proper guidance. This study concludes that cybersastra not only broadens the concept of literacy but also offers an adaptive and meaningful approach to literary education in the digital era.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berpijak pada keterbatasan kajian yang mengintegrasikan sastra lisan Madura ke dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Pemanfaatannya dalam pendidikan formal masih rendah karena keterbatasan bahan ajar dan model pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan perkembangan era digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan dan menguji efektivitas model pembelajaran integratif berbasis digitalisasi sastra lisan Madura untuk meningkatkan literasi budaya siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan mengadaptasi model Borg & Gall yang mencakup enam tahap, yaitu studi pendahuluan, perancangan model, pengembangan produk awal, uji coba terbatas, revisi, dan uji coba lapangan. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 120 siswa yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling berdasarkan kesiapan digital dan dukungan sekolah terhadap inovasi berbasis budaya lokal. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket, observasi, wawancara, dan tes literasi budaya, dengan instrumen yang telah divalidasi oleh tiga ahli: pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, budaya Madura, dan media digital. Analisis dilakukan secara kuantitatif menggunakan uji-t (paired sample t-test) dan secara kualitatif melalui analisis tematik. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan skor literasi budaya dari 52,5 menjadi 85,25 (p < 0,05), atau sebesar 32,75%. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa model pembelajaran integratif berbasis digitalisasi sastra lisan Madura efektif diterapkan di jenjang pendidikan menengah atas sebagai strategi pedagogis kontekstual dalam memperkuat literasi budaya di era digital.

Abstract

This study analyzes the representation of traditional Nusantara cuisine in the novel Nonik Jamu (2024) by Rina Suryakusuma using a gastro-critical approach enriched with semiotic analysis. The analysis focuses on three main aspects: (1) how traditional Nusantara cuisine is represented in the novel; (2) how traditional Nusantara cuisine reflects social and cultural values; and (3) how traditional Nusantara cuisine contributes to the formation of character identity. The findings show that traditional Nusantara cuisine functions not only as a narrative element but also as a medium of complex cultural representation. The results include: (1) the representation of traditional Nusantara cuisine through processes of preparation, presentation, and consumption; (2) the presence of social and cultural values; and (3) traditional Nusantara cuisine as a means of shaping character identity. This study contributes to the development of literary gastronomy in Indonesia, particularly in understanding the relationship between traditional Nusantara cuisine, culture, and identity within literary texts.

Abstract

This research stems from the need for Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA), which not only emphasizes linguistic aspects but also promotes cultural integration in a cross-cultural context, particularly in Europe. This study aims to analyze the integration of Indonesian linguistic and cultural aspects in the process of cross-cultural BIPA learning in Europe, as well as how the cultural elements of each learner contribute to their language skills outcomes. The research method employed is a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection primarily conducted through online classroom observation and analysis of learners' language skills. The results show that there is integration of each learner's culture in the results of their language skills. In speaking and writing skills, learners not only use Indonesian vocabulary and language structures, but also adapt expressions, communication styles, and cultural values from their home countries to the Indonesian context. In reading and listening skills, learners are able to interpret cultural meanings in texts and audio, while comparing them with their own cultural experiences. Cultural integration in learning is a study that offers a new perspective on how intercultural competence can be systematically built through pedagogical designs that are sensitive to the socio-cultural context of learners, as well as providing practical implications for the development of BIPA learning that is more adaptive, inclusive, and effective in improving cross-cultural communication success.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low public speaking skills of students, characterized by a lack of courage to speak, fluency in conveying ideas, and low learning motivation in class presentation activities. This condition requires learning actions that provide active, contextual, and interesting speaking experiences. This study aims to improve public speaking skills and student learning motivation through the implementation of the Role Playing method assisted by Spotify. The study used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design which was carried out in two cycles on class 2C students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program at Singaperbangsa University, Karawang, with 30 research subjects. Data collection techniques included speaking skills tests, learning motivation questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The results of the study showed an increase in students' public speaking skills from the initial condition which only got an average score of 57.22, then increased in cycle I with an average of 74.67 and increased in cycle II with an average of 85.00, which was marked by an increase in the average score to exceed the completeness criteria and increased active participation of students in speaking activities. In addition, student learning motivation also increased from the low category to the good category. The study's key findings indicate that the Spotify-assisted role-playing method effectively increased students' speaking confidence and learning engagement. Therefore, the implementation of the Spotify-assisted role-playing method has been proven to significantly improve students' public speaking skills and learning motivation.

Abstract

The development of digital communication has made humor a medium of linguistic expression that not only serves as entertainment, but also as a means of identity formation and social relationship management in virtual spaces. This study aims to reveal the forms, patterns of occurrence, and functions of paronomasia in digital humor discourse on Instagram using an integrated syntagmatic approach. The focus is on how wordplay and language forms are used to convey humorous meaning while building social interaction among social media users. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. The data consists of humorous posts on the Instagram account @Queteryo published during the period from January to March 2024. Data collection was carried out through documentation and purposive sampling techniques, then analyzed in terms of discourse by combining syntactic, semantic, and pragmatic studies to identify paronomasia patterns and their communicative functions. The results of the analysis show that paronomasia in digital humor most often appears in imperative and declarative sentence structures by utilizing similarities in sound and word form. Pragmatically, paronomasia functions as a means of conveying satire, persuasive appeals, and indirect criticism that can increase audience engagement. The uniqueness of this study lies in the application of an integrated syntagmatic framework that provides new insights into linguistic creativity, the strengthening of digital literacy, and communicative awareness, especially for the younger generation.

Abstract

Penyusunan soal ujian kerap dilakukan tanpa didahului oleh analisis yang komprehensif terhadap kualitas setiap butir soal. Akibatnya, banyak soal yang tidak mampu mengukur kemampuan siswa secara optimal. Dilaksanakannya penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengkaji kualitas butir soal asesmen sumatif pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia kelas VIII di SMP Batik Program Khusus Surakarta Tahun Ajaran 2024/2025. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan bantuan perangkat lunak Anates versi 4 untuk menganalisis aspek validitas, reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran, daya pembeda, serta efektivitas pengecoh. Subjek penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII yang berjumlah 25 orang. Data yang dianalisis berupa 30 butir soal pilihan ganda. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, diperoleh beberapa kesimpulan: 1) sebanyak 53% butir soal termasuk dalam kategori valid, 2) koefisien reliabilitas menunjukkan nilai sebesar 0,72 yang menempatkan soal dalam kategori reliabel tinggi, 3) tingkat kesukaran sebagian besar soal berada pada level mudah hingga sangat mudah, 4) analisis daya pembeda menunjukkan bahwa 37% butir soal belum memiliki kemampuan membedakan peserta didik secara baik, 5) efektivitas pengecoh mengindikasikan bahwa sebagian besar opsi jawaban tidak berfungsi secara maksimal. Temuan tersebut menunjukkan bahwa kualitas soal masih perlu ditingkatkan, khususnya pada aspek daya pembeda dan efektivitas pengecoh, sehingga dapat dijadikan dasar dalam perbaikan penyusunan instrumen asesmen pada masa mendatang.
