Abstract

Politeness is an important aspect of speaking, especially in mass media. Radio, as an electronic media, conveys information to the public, one of which is advertising. In a radio advertisement, the aim is to be persuasive, so politeness is needed in delivering the broadcast. This article aims to describe the principles of language politeness contained in Radio Damai FM Pariaman advertising broadcasts. This research is qualitative research using descriptive methods. The data in this research are speech sentences in Radio Damai FM Pariaman advertising broadcasts. The data in this study was collected using proficient free-involved listening (SBLC) and note-taking techniques. Data analysis is carried out by transcribing data, identifying data, classifying data, interpreting data, and concluding the results of data analysis. The principles of language politeness contained in Radio Damai FM Pariaman advertising broadcasts are analyzed by classifying each utterance based on the form and function of language politeness and describing the condition of the speech. The results of the research revealed that there were 34 data on the principles of politeness used in Radio Damai FM Pariaman advertising broadcasts. This research has implications for Indonesian language learning in schools, especially advertising texts.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan siswa terkait pengembangan model GOPE dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei deskriptif, dengan mengumpulkan data melalui angket yang diisi oleh siswa kelas XII SMA. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif untuk menggambarkan kebutuhan dan pandangan guru secara keseluruhan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa bahwa model pembelajaran yang mengintegrasikan permainan edukatif dapat menciptakan suasana belajar yang dinamis dan relevan dengan konteks dunia nyata, sehingga mempermudah transfer pengetahuan dan keterampilan.. Berdasarkan hasil analisis tersebut, model GOPE dalam pembelajaran Bahasa berpotensi memberikan dampak positif pada peningkatan keterampilan kritis dan kolaboratif siswa.

Abstract

Very significant technological developments do not hamper the existence of radio as one of the broadcast communication media. Various advertisements still trust radio as a distributor of information that has the potential to influence the public to promote a product. One of his efforts is to design unique and interesting communication. For this reason, this study examines the use of illocutionary speech acts in advertisements on Radio Damai FM Pariaman. There are various forms of speech acts in communication designed by the advertisements delivered. The method in this study is a qualitative-descriptive method. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the form of speech acts was 18.4%, 2) Directive as much as 39.5%, 3) Commissive as much as 15.8%, 4) Expressive 26.3%. The dominant speech act is a directive speech act because advertising in conveying information is more persuasive. It can be concluded that the speech acts used by advertisements on the radio in informing something not only about creating interesting language to influence radio listeners but can also have implications for learning in schools related to advertising text lessons and language skills.

Abstract

Online and face-to-face learning represent distinct educational contexts. Online learning refers to education or instruction conducted over the internet, whereas face-to-face learning occurs in a shared physical space and time. Nowadays, teachers have various options for conducting these learning processes. Each mode of learning possesses its own strengths and limitations. Consequently, this research aims to compare face-to-face and online learning in terms of students' skills in reproducing scientific article using Project-Based Learning (PjBL). This research method is a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design. Two classes were selected as samples of this study using purposive sampling techniques. With the provision that one class is experimental class 1 by treating students in face-to-face learning mode using the PjBL model, while experimental class 2 learning is carried out online using the PjBL model. The research instrument used was a performance test, namely students making scientific papers. Analysis of research data using SPSS with the stages of normality test, homogeneity test, and t-test. The results of the study showed that there was a difference in the average learning outcomes of students, namely scientific writing skills using Project Based Learning between face-to-face learning and online learning. The results of this study can be concluded that learning with face-to-face classes obtains better learning outcomes compared to the Project Based Learning model which is better than online classes

Abstract

Guru perlu memiliki keterampilan komunikasi yang kuat dan efektif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk tindak tutur direktif dan strategi komunikasi yang digunakan oleh guru selama pengajaran. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif untuk memberikan gambaran menyeluruh tentang temuan. Penelitian kualitatif menghasilkan data deskriptif dalam bentuk bahasa lisan, teks tertulis, dan perilaku individu yang diamati. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa, di antara tindak tutur direktif seperti bertanya, memerintah, memohon, menasihati, menyarankan, dan menantan, tindak tutur yang paling sering digunakan adalah bertanya, dengan 102 tuturan, sedangkan menasihati adalah yang paling jarang digunakan, dengan hanya 1 tuturan. Selain itu, studi ini juga mengeksplorasi strategi bertutur yang digunakan oleh guru selama pembelajaran, yang dominan digunakan yaitu strategi Bertutur Terus Terang tanpa Basa-basi (BTTB) yang ditemukan sebanyak 144 data. Ketika guru menyampaikan tuturannya secara langsung tanpa basa-basi siswa akan mudah memahami dan dapat menciptakan hubungan yang harmonis sehingga komunikasi yang terjalin menjadi bagus. Melalui komunikasi dan tuturan yang bagus dan efektif, interaksi yang variatif, srerta menunjukkan kepedulian, guru dapat menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang mendukung perkembangan siswa, yang pada akhirnya berdampak pada hasil belajar yang lebih baik.

Abstract

Peran guru sebagai pembicara sangat penting dalam pembelajaran karena melalui tindak tutur ekspresif, guru dapat mendidik, membimbing, dan mengarahkan siswa. Tujuan yang hendak dicapai peneliti dalam penelitian ini yaitu mendeskripsikan apa sajakah bentuk tindak tutur ekspresif dan strategi bertutur yang digunakan guru dalam pembelajaran. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif yang memberikan gambaran dan menjabarkan hasil penelitian secara mendalam. Penelitian kualitatif menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa ucapan, tulisan, dan perilaku individu yang diamati. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu, Pertama, dari tindak tutur ekspresif memuji,berterima kasih, meminta maaf, mengkritik, menyalahkan, mengucapkan selamat, tindak tutur ekspresif yang dominan digunakan adalah tindak tutur ekspresif memuji yaitu sebanyak 23 tuturan dan tindak tutur yang sedikit digunakan adalah tindak tutur ekspresif mengucapkan selamat yaitu sebanyak 1 tuturan.Kedua, strategi bertutur yang digunakan oleh guru dalam pembelajaran yang dominan digunakan yaitu strategi Bertutur Terus Terang tanpa Basa-basi (BTTB) yang ditemukan sebanyak 43 data. Dengan mempelajari tindak tutur ini diharapkan agar dapat mengetahui dan memahami bagaimana tata cara bertutur yang baik, pemilihan bentuk tindak tutur serta strategi yang tepat dalam berkomunikasi, sehinga siswa bisa memberikan respon timbal balik komunikasi yang positif.

Abstract

The advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) presents both opportunities and challenges in language learning, particularly in Indonesian syntax analysis, which is characterized by its flexible and complex structures. The main problem arises from AI limitations in accurately distinguishing syntactic functions, especially between objects, complements, and adverbials, which may lead to misinterpretations among students. This study aims to validate AI’s accuracy in sentence pattern analysis and to emphasize its role as a supporting tool rather than a primary authority in syntactic studies. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach with documentation techniques, the research analyzed 60 student-produced sentences processed by AI and compared them with conceptual analysis based on Chaer’s syntactic theory. Findings reveal that AI demonstrates relatively high accuracy in identifying subjects and predicates (90%), moderate accuracy in objects (80%), but lower accuracy in complements and adverbials (75%). These results highlight that while AI is useful for recognizing basic syntactic patterns, it remains weak in distinguishing between obligatory and optional grammatical functions. The implication is that AI integration in language learning must be accompanied by theoretical validation from students and lecturers to ensure that sentence analysis is not merely mechanical but grounded in comprehensive linguistic understanding.

Abstract

A learning model capable of integrating various literacies and disciplines is urgently needed to face the challenges of 21st-century learning. This need drives the development of the Multiliteracy Integrative Learning Model (MULGRANING) which focuses on language learning through the integration of various fields of science. This study aims to analyze the validity and practicality of the MULGRANING model. The research method used is research and development (RD) using the Plomp Nieeven model which consists of preliminary research, prototyping stage, and assessment stage. Data were obtained through expert validation and limited trials on teachers and students at the high school level, namely at SMAN 2 Padang and SMAN 9 Padang. The results of the study indicate that the MULGRANING model has high validity in terms of material (92%), presentation (96%), language (84%), graphics (77%), model syntax (88%), social system (90%), reaction principle (84%), support system (91%), instructional and accompanying impact (88%). Furthermore, teachers and students rated this model as practical to implement, with an average student practicality score of 91% and a teacher practicality score of 95%. The model is categorized as very practical because it provides a clear learning flow, varied activities, and allows for the development of language skills and 21st-century skills. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that this model can be used as an alternative in the language learning process.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi informasi menjadikan kemampuan menulis naskah persuasif dan menyusun narasi kreatif yang dipublikasikan pada media digital merupkan keterampilan yang sangat dibutuhkan saat ini. Berdasarkan hal itu, kegiatan ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan copywriting dan storytelling Karang Taruna Nagari Malai V Suku Timur dalam mempromosikan budaya dan wisata lokal di era digital. Metode pengabdian yang digunakan adalah Service Learning dengan pendekatan Community Development, yang dilaksanakan selama dua hari dengan melibatkan 15 peserta. Tahapan kegiatan meliputi persiapan, pre-test, pelaksanaan inti, post-test, dan evaluasi. Proses inti menggunakan kombinasi ceramah interaktif, praktik, serta diskusi kelompok untuk mengasah keterampilan menulis naskah persuasif dan merancang narasi kreatif. Berdasarkan hasil uji Wilcoxon dan N-Gain menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan antara skor pre-test dan post-test, yang membuktikan efektivitas kegiatan. Pelatihan ini terbukti efektif untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta dalam mempromosikan potensi budaya dan wisata lokal melalui media digital. Kegiatan ini berimplikasi pada penguatan kapasitas pemuda nagari dalam bidang literasi digital sekaligus mendukung pengembangan ekonomi kreatif daerah secara berkelanjutan.
