Abstract

The oil losses that occurs in the processing of FFB is inevitable, but can be controlled in such a way that it can be minimized in accordance with predetermined standard. Parameters of oil losses that must be controlled, one of which is the oil content absorbed in empty bunch. The level of oil losses in this empty bunch often exceed the standard limit. If this happens, it will affect the performance of oil extraction rate expected by the palm oil mill. The FFB received at the palm oil mill consists of five grades and to differentiate it will be done grading process. Sampling consisting of 1 kg of fruit bunch and 3 kgs of loss fruit, consisting of normal and damaged of loss fruit, done after the grading process is completed. Sterilizing the sample will be done after all samples collected. Sterilizng is done inside the sterilizer and all samples are sterilized on the same sterilizer. Samples that have been sterilized will be analyzed oil content in empty bunch. The result showed that the quality of processed FFB greatly affects the percentage rate of oil losses in empty bunch. Based on the result of the analysis it can be concluded that the higher the FFB is damaged then the percentage level of oil losses in empty bunch will be higher also. Similarly, the leftover fruit bunch will experience the same thing as well.

Abstract

Palm oil fiber are waste produce of a plant oil palm shaped splinters, solids, in length 3 – 4 cm , that is in the mesocarp of palm oil. Fiber knowing building is the result utilization of waste palm oil fiber as the roof of the building which used to quell heat of sunlight or from the heat source, so he could not directly exposed to to the people and surrounding environment. Fiber knowing building made by putting together fiber in in a mold and arranged with to dimension to be made. To bind between fiber, be used resin that has been in have get mixed material a catalyst so easy to dry quickly .The comparison between resin by fiber is 1: ¼. The results of the testing of heat conduction of the displacement that has been carried out on a body fiber test able to reduce heat the highest as much as 125°C and the lowest is 109°C from a source of heat is imparted much as 200°C. This shows that palm oil fiber can be used as an ingredient of the damper of heat to of building.

Abstract

A company must strive to achieve its goal of creating and maintaining its customers, in the midst of intense business competition. In order to achieve these objectives, the company must meet customer needs in a timely manner in accordance with the wishes of the customer, so that required supplies of goods sufficient to meet those needs. Inventory turnover is a inventory performance indicator. Measurement of performance is done by calculating the turnover ratio of goods (TOR). The purpose of this study is to determine the performance of raw material inventory in the warehouse through the calculation of turnover ratio (TOR). The research was conducted at a manufacturing company, a company producing carton for packaging consumer products, located in Bekasi District. The object of research is the raw material used to make carton packaging, which is as much as 18 (eighteen) types. The data used are initial inventory status data, raw material data entering warehouse and raw material usage for three months (January - March 2017). The results showed that the performance of raw material inventory in the company is very low. This can be seen from the cumulative TOR value for three months (January - March 2017), which only ranged from 0.10 to 4.88 times. While the length of raw material inventory time ranges from 13.11 to 649.45 days.

Abstract

This research discusses how to realize the accounting practicum module based on palm oil plantation. Preparation of this practicum module intended to support quality of superior human resources from a graduate of the Polytechnic of Kelapa Sawit Citra Widya Edukasi. The object of this study on Polytechnic of Kelapa Sawit Citra Widya Edukasi, Bekasi. Currently in the polytechnic there is no Accounting Practicum Module based on palm oil plantation. The researcher wish to develop the material of accounting practicum course according to condition of requirement that happened in the field, that is in the form of development of accounting practice module based on palm oil plantation. The purpose of this research is to realize the accounting practicum module of accounting based on palm oil plantation and to know the implementation of accounting practicum module to student of Polytechnic of Kelapa Sawit Citra Widya Edukasi, and to evaluate the result of its assessment. This research uses research and development (R&D) method, by adopting the approach of ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) by Maribe Branch. The results obtained in this study are accounting practicum module based on palm oil plantation, application of accounting practicum module and evaluation of assesment.

Abstract

Ergonomics is a combination of several other sciences that include human systems, machines and environments that interact (International Ergonomic Association), in addition to ergonomics also learn about design of work tools and work environment in accordance with the capacity and limitations of humans. Ergonomics is aimed at achieving conformity between man and his job in order to achieve prosperity. This anthropometry study can be conducted on a wide range of jobs, both in large industries and small industries. One of them is batik industry. Batik industry is currently an industry that is experiencing rapid development. Batik Bogor has typical motifs such as drizzling rain, lotus, deer head, and cleaver. From the analysis that has been done is known that the condition of work posture on the dyeing of batik cloth is very risky cause musculoskeletal disorders injuries. The purpose of this research is to redesign the work equipment. Based on the Nordic Body Map questionnaire given to workers, it is known to average the biggest pain complaints on the neck, back and waist. The incidence of such risks and complaints is due to unnatural operator posture, and lasts for a long time. So given the proposed redesign of dyeing equipment to support operator comfort in work. Proposed designs have been adapted to anthropometric dimensions and in accordance with operator requirements so as to overcome complaints and musculoskeletal injuries.

Abstract

The lemongrass can increase the number of termites mortality because it contains citronella, geraniol, asetat, and other compounds. Essential oil of lemongrass can be used for soap scents and disinfectant. The objectives of this research were to determine the effectiveness of lemongrass leaves extract as botanical termitisides on mortality of termites and to determine the best rate of lemongrass leaves extract for controlling termites. The research procedur consist of searching the termites to be tested, the preparation of the lemongrass leaves extract, the application of extract to termites, and observation of termite mortality parameter. The experiment was arranged in a completely randomized design with one factor. There are three rates of lemongrass leaves extract : 10 gr/100 ml water (P1), 20 gr/100 ml water (P2), and 30 gr/100 ml water (P3). Each treatments were three replications, and each replications consisted of 15 termites so the total unit of experiments were 135 termites. Data were analized with analysis of variance with α 5 %, If there is a significant treatment effect, the further analysis using Least Significance Different (LSD) test for each of treatments. The result showed that the treatments of lemongrass leaves extract did not significantly affect for all of treatments from 1 hour after application until 3 hour after application for termite mortality parameter and the highest average termite mortality rate can be seen in the 20 gr/l water in 3 hour after application.

Abstract

The process of purifying the palm oil from the press, firstly done filtering process. Filtering process is an important process to obtain the smooth and soft results of a product. Several models have been developed for the filtering of liquid, solid, stone, mineral, and so forth. It has been done by several companies for its processing. The purpose of this research is to: 1) know how to do the design on inclined vibrating screen; and 2) know what parameters are needed to design an incined vibrating screen build. Research done by conducting literature study first. Next, determine the model and capacity of vibrating screen to be made. The next stage is data collection and modeling tool design. Next calculate and analyze capacity requirements, structural strength and vibration. The results showed that: 1) designing inclined vibrating screen constructions to be considered several things, namely: media/capacity size and shape, density, moisture, size distribution, and construction; and 2) parameters to note is the probability to filter for 0.999992; filtering performance of 0.01704 m/s²; depth of filtration of 0.5 m; spring stiffness of 2,000 kg/cm; with a spring and wire diameter of 14.5 mm and 2.125 mm.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the characteristics of physical changes of weeds of Merremia peltata and the level of herbicide of methyl metsulfuron and paraquat dichloride in controlling the weeds in oil palm plantations. The method used in the implementation of this research was descriptive method by observing physical changes occurring on the leaves, stems and mortality rate of the weeds at a maximum time interval of 25 days. The study was divided into two groups, ie the weeds were treated with the active ingredient methyl metsulfuron and the weeds were treated with the active ingredient paraquat dichloride. At the treatment of methyl metsulfuron consists of 5 concentration, that was: 1) concentration of 2.5 g/12 liters of water; 2) concentration of 3.5 g/12 liters of water; 3) concentration of 4.5 g/12 liters of water; 4) concentration 5.5. gr/12 liters of water; and 5) concentration of 6.5 gr/12 liters of water. The treatment of the active ingredient paraquat dichloride consists of 3 concentrations, namely: 1) 60 ml/15 liters of water; 2) 70 ml/15 liters of water; and 3) 80 ml/liter of water. The results showed that changes in leaves and stems began to appear on day 3 after application and at the end of observation of active ingredient Methyl metsulfuron killed the weeds with concentrations of 6.5 gr/12 liters of water. Meanwhile, the paraquat dichoride active ingredients gave initial changes to the leaves and stems on day 1 after application and killed th weeds with concentrations of 80 ml/15 liters of water. At the end of the observation, both active ingredients were capable kill the weeds and showed no visible signs of regrowth and no new shoots appeared.

Abstract

Controlling weed using herbicide by continuously would be had negative affect for environment and make weed resistance. This problem must be resolved with more eco-friendly solution, such as using pre-emergence bioherbicide. Bioherbicides are herbicides derived from natural ingredients and contain chemical compounds that capable of controlling weeds, such as Imperata cylindrica, because it is contains allelochemical that inhibit the growth of others plant. The research was arranged in a non factorial randomized design with two replication, which consists of 5 treatments, namely, A0 (control), A1 (herbicide Glyphosate 1%), A2 (bioherbicide extract 1%), A3 (bioherbicide extract 3%), A4 (bioherbicide extract 5%). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance and a further test DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test). The results from this study showed that alang-alang (Imperata cylindrica L.) could be alternative bioherbicides for controlling weed in oil palm plantation. Pre-emergence bioherbicides significantly affect the growth of weeds in 7 and 21 days after application. The best bioherbicides concentration is 1%, and its bioherbicides contains of alelochemical is flavonoid.

Abstract

Advances in automation technology have begun to be implemented in the palm oil industry in an integrated manner. The current existence of the Palm Oil Mill is an obstacle in terms of monitoring its operations. Work processes that are heavily dependent on the performance of each worker, cause the level of variability in work is very high. The need for a monitoring system on the performance of ongoing processing in real time, strongly supports the achievement of parameters and standards set at the Palm Oil Mill. A supervisor desperately needs a monitoring system capable of functioning as a control system in order to access mill performance remotely, so that he can monitor the performance of every machine that is very large and far from a large area, and can be monitored and controlled quickly from same location. In this research will be applied AVR AT ATmega 8535 mikrokontroler as controller of equipment object that can be controlled from long distance. By using the USB interface to Serial Converter as well as Laptop and Gadget devices connected to the internet, he will be able to monitor and control the operation of an equipment object. Utilization of AVR AT ATmega 8535 is possible to be developed for a more complex control system. Visualization for a more attractive and user-friendly control system can be made by using Delphi 7 software.
