One of the theories developed in graph theory is the dominating set. Dominating set is a concept of determining the minimum point on the graph with the provision of a point as dominating set to reach the point that is around it. The smallest cardinality of the dominating set is called the domination number denoted by (G). Given graph G with point V and E side, let D be a subset of V. If each point of VD is adjacent at least one point from D, then D is said dominating set in graph G. Currently a lot of applications from dominating set, one of which is Minimizing the Construction of Lakes at River Meeting Points to Reduce Floods in Jakarta. In this study a river meeting will be rebuilt to select floods in Jakarta. Flooding is a natural disaster which is currently often in Indonesia. Especially in Jakarta. Jakarta is one of the risk areas for flooding in Indonesia and floods that always occur suddenly There are so many ways to reduce them, but that doesn't work. One of the causes of flooding in Jakarta is the overflow of river air. When a patient appears suddenly several rivers that have large currents, air flow will collide at the meeting point. When the river flows, the air will overflow large enough. Therefore, it is important to develop a lake at the river meeting point but it is necessary to make the lake as minimal as possible and also to be efficient. The research application dominates the set of lake developments in each river meeting point in the city. Keywords: dominating set, river, flood

Learning outcomes are one of the benchmarks of successful learning activities. This study aims to determine the improvement of student learning outcomes in studying Fractional Numbers with the application of Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) learning model. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (PTK). The study was designed using 2 cycles in each cycle consisting of 4 stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Based on result of analysis, student activity at cycle 1 73.54% and cycle II equal to 86,35%. While the learning outcomes obtained average score 67 on cycle 1 and cycle 2 reached score 84. It proves that the activities and student learning outcomes can be increased by applying the learning model RME. For certain subjects, the RME learning model is used to avoid saturation in learning activities. Keywords: Realistics Mathematic Education (RME), Learning Outcomes

Learning is the main activity of the education process. The researcher compared the results of students' mathematics learning with conventional model learning models and used a combination of Creative Problem Solving (CPS) models with the Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) approach to learning. Based on the results of the calculation of data analysis using dk (25) and the significance level (0.05), then obtained t_table (1.708). From the above calculation it is known that t count > t table (9.72> 1.708). Thus the working hypothesis () can be collected, and it can be said that learning with the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) model with Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) influences the results of mathematics learning. The results of this study are also supported by the activities of teachers more motivating students on the importance of paying attention to and understanding the material taught and cooperation and responsibility for the success of a learning process Keywords: CPS, CTL, learning outcomes

The purpose of this research was to investigate the effects of Problem Posing learning facilitated by Mind Mapping toward problem solving and reasoning abillity based on students’ cognitive style. Totally, there were 106 students involved in the study which comprised of 42 students from VIIE class of SMPN 7 Jember as experimental group (PPMM class), 42 students from VIIF class of SMPN 7 Jember as the first control group (PP1 class) and 32 students from VIID class of SMPN 1 Arjasa as the second control group (PP2 class). Before giving the treatment, students was given GEFT test to know the kind of cognitive style that they have. There are two kind of student’s cognitive style in this paper i.e. field-dependent and field-independent cognitive style. The study found that student’s problem solving and reasoning abillity of PPMM class are better than PP class. Moreover, problem solving and reasoning abillity of field independent students is better than field dependent students. Keywords: problem possing, mind mapping, problem solving, reasoning, and cognitive style

Most students assume that mathematics is a complicated subject and has a higher level of difficulty in its delivery. The subject of this study was the tenth grade student of Science at Diponegoro High School in Jember Institution. Based on the problems that exist in this study so that a problem is formulated which is how mathematical communication skills of students who have high learning outcomes, how mathematical communication skills of students who have moderate learning outcomes, and how mathematical communication skills of students who have low learning outcomes. Based on the results of research and discussion it can be concluded that subjects with high learning outcomes have mathematical communication skills at the time of interview giving a minimal model for everyday life. While for the subject of moderate learning outcomes, the subject uses a model / parable in everyday life in order to more easily understand the material that exists. And subjects with low learning outcomes, the subject still cannot find a line that connects the material with the given modeling. Keywoard: mathematical communication skill, learning outcomes
