Abstract

This study aims to explore the perception of Biology teachers towards Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning in the context of education. AR-based learning offers an interactive and immersive learning experience, which can improve understanding of difficult concepts as well as enrich students' experience in the learning process. However, the adoption of this technology in the classroom requires good readiness and understanding from the teacher. This study uses a qualitative approach with semi-structured interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) with 16 Biology teachers. The data analysis used used was the thematic analysis method. The results of the study show that most teachers consider AR as a very potential tool to increase student motivation and engagement. Teachers also report that AR allows for the visualization of abstract concepts in a more tangible and engaging way. There are several obstacles such as limited infrastructure, lack of training, and difficulties in integrating AR into the curriculum. This research provides important insights for the development of technology education and training policies for teachers in order to support the implementation of AR-based learning more broadly. Abstract

Coffee is an important commodity for the Indonesian economy, which is the third largest coffee producer in the world after Brazil and Vietnam. Coffee cultivation in Indonesia began in 1699. Coffee has become a widely known agricultural product and is expected to increase state revenues from exports. The types of coffee cultivated include Robusta, Arabica, and Liberica, with Robusta dominating production. Indonesia. Coffee farmers face problems in the form of decreased quality and quantity of production caused by pest attacks. One of the main pests is the coffee berry borer (CBO), known by the scientific name Hypothenemus hampei. This pest is difficult to control and can damage coffee fruit and beans, lowering its market price. The distribution of CBO is almost evenly distributed throughout Indonesia, with varying levels of damage in various regions, such as 64% in Lampung and 80% in Papua. This pest has a complete life cycle with four stages: eggs, larvae, pupae, and adults. Females can produce 50 eggs, which hatch in 5-9 days. The CBO life cycle takes about 25 days, with varying lifespans for females and males. PBKo attacks occur on coffee berries aged 8 weeks until harvest, which can damage coffee beans and reduce yields. The age of the coffee plant also affects the quantity of fruit produced and the distribution of pests. Coffee plants that are not exposed to direct sunlight have higher temperatures and humidity, supporting the growth of PBKo. PBKo pest control can be done biologically/biological control. Some PBKo pest control agents include predators, parasitoids, entomopagenic fungi, entomopagenic bacteria, and entomopagenic nematodes.

Abstract

Limonene, a terpenoid compound found in various plants such as oranges, lemons, and mint, has numerous applications in different industrial fields, including as a fragrance, flavoring agent, and biofuel. Conventional limonene production relies on agricultural outputs vulnerable to fluctuations caused by diseases or climate change. Therefore, metabolic engineering using microorganisms offers an interesting alternative for more efficient and sustainable limonene production. This review article aims to summarize the procedures for limonene production through the modification of the pentose phosphate (PP) and methylerythritol 4-phosphate (MEP) biosynthetic pathways in the cyanobacterium Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 to produce limonene. Limonene synthase (lims) obtained from C. limon and M. spicata plants was cloned and transformed into cyanobacteria to enhance limonene production. Experimental results showed that genes associated with the limonene biosynthesis pathway, including ribose 5-phosphate isomerase (rpi), ribulose 5-phosphate 3-epimerase (rpe), and geranyl diphosphate synthase (gpps), were successfully expressed in Synechocystis. This study demonstrates that Synechocystis can be an efficient microbial system for limonene and other isoprene compound production, offering a more stable and environmentally friendly alternative than agricultural-based production.

Abstract

Nutrients are needed by athletes to meet daily nutritional needs used in carrying out daily activities, training and physical activities that support body fitness. Fulfilling this nutrition is very important for athletes, considering that their energy needs are greater than those of people who do not exercise, because the intensity of training and the work of their body organs is heavier. This research is a quantitative descriptive research with a cross sectional design. This research aims to identify the relationship between the research variables and determine the level of correlation. The independent variable is diet and the dependent variable is nutritional status. The results of the study showed that there was a significant relationship between eating frequency, amount of carbohydrate intake, and the nutritional status of futsal athletes (p < 0.05). On the other hand, no significant relationship was found between the amount of protein intake, fat intake and amount of water and nutritional status (p > 0.05). It is hoped that respondents will increase their understanding regarding eating patterns and pay attention to each food intake so that they can maintain and optimize their performance and endurance as athletes.

Abstract

Efforts to increase agricultural production cannot be separated from the role of agricultural instructors. The existence of agricultural extension workers can help farmers obtain the information and technology they need. The high or low productivity of a farming business is influenced by the difficulty of farmers in adopting new technology. This research aims to determine the level of role of agricultural instructors towards tomato farmers and the relationship between the role of agricultural instructors in increasing tomato (Solanum Lycopersicum) production in the Suri Pudi farmer group, Done Village, Magepanda District. The method used in this research is a survey method with a quantitative approach. The sample used was a saturated sample of 32 people, and data analysis used a Likert scale and Spearman rank. The results of the research show that the level of role of agricultural instructors towards tomato farmers in the Suri Pudi farmer group, Done Village, Magepanda District is in the high category with a value of 76.2%. The role of agricultural instructors as motivators, catalysts, communicators, consultants and facilitators does not have a significant relationship, while the role of instructors as educators and organizers has a significant relationship in increasing tomato production. Overall, the role of extension workers does not have a real or significant relationship in increasing tomato production. This shows that the greater the role of extension workers, the greater the increase in tomato production, which is not necessarily true.
