Abstract

Empty Fruit Bunches (EFB) is a byproduct of the processing of palm oil utilization is still limited. One Palm Oil Mill (POM) in South Kalimantan, with a production capacity of 800 tons/day can produce 176 tonnes of EFB/day. In Indonesia, oil palm empty fruit bunches be used as paper pulp, fiberboard and furniture filler material volume. The aim of this study was to analyze the characteristics and fiber yield as a byproduct of industrial EFB CPO (Crude Palm Oil). The method used in this study is the experimental method with a Randomized Block Design (RBD) single factor. Namely the treatment of boiling, steaming and without treatment (control), each of which carried 9 repetitions.Results showed that the EFB fiber characteristics which include tensile strength, density, length and diameter did not significantly affect the treatment of color while boiling and steaming. EFB fiber yield obtained does not affect the treatment of boiling and steaming.

Abstract

This study aims to determine consumer perceptions of goat sate in North Sangatta base on personal aspects, social aspects, religious and cultural aspects, psychology aspects and product aspects.  This studu have been done on Maret until April, 2018 in several food stalls that sell goat sate in the north Sangata sub-district. The sampling technique used is incidental sampling with total respondents is 30 buyers.  Data is analyzed descriptively with a scoring method using a Likert scale.  This study result had show that personal apsects is cunsumers agree if they buy goat sate accordance with their practical lifestyle and favorite food with perception value is 7.13.  Perception value from social aspects is 10.43 which means that consumers agree if they buy goat sate because of recommendations by friend and family believes that the taste and quality of goat sate is good.  Religious and cultural aspects, perception value is 7.60 means that consumers disagree if consume goat sate contrary to religion and relieve trust.  Psychology aspects with value is 14.30 result that consumers agree if goat sate is bad smell, can increase blood pressure and body vitality, and cook it long time. Product aspects, consumers also agree that the price of goat sate is more expensive than other sate, sale location are hard to find, less promotion, tastyseasoning, tough, less attractive presentation, aesthetics of a place to sell poorly with perception value is 25.60.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know Revenue, Profit, Capital Productivity, Manpower Distribution and Feasibility of Typhoon Type B Farming in Bunipah Village, Aluh-Aluh Sub-District, Banjar District of South Kalimantan Province. Method of Village Research using Purposive Sampling and for Sampling of Farmers by using Random Sampling sampling that is taken 10% from population amount of 190 tidal rice farmer type B, so obtained 19 farmer sampel.Dan for Revenue Data = TR-TEC, Profit = TR-TC, Capital Productivity = Profit divided by total cost x 100%, Labor Distribution = Total cost of Labor divided by Total cost x 100% whereas Feasibility = TR / TC. The results showed that Average Tidal Rice of Type B tidal land is Rp 9.076.711 farming. with Average Profit is Rp 7,518,879 / farmer and Average Capital Productivity equal to 85,04%, Average outside  Labor Distribution equal to 69,88% and average inside labor distribution equal to 34,94% with Average Feasibility of Field Farming of Type Surface Ms Type 1, 85 means Types of Tidal Wetland Farming Type B is feasible to cultivate.

Abstract

Meat is one source of protein that is widely consumed by humans. In general, the meat is largely derived from ruminant livestock such as cattle and buffalo. In consuming this meat almost all people still have difficulty in processing because of low shelf life and high cholesterol content so it can have a negative impact on health. To maintain the shelf life of meat can be preserved by using chemicals such as citric acid. However, the use of chemicals for preservation will affect the quality of meat that will have a negative impact on health. So to overcome this in this study was conducted with the aim to examine the natural materials that exist in nature to serve as materials that have more use in processing the production of livestock, especially meat. These natural ingredients in addition to preserving also lower cholesterol levels of meat. The method used in this research is to blend the three organic materials that have been provided with the ratio of nutmeg, belimbing wuluh and garlic respectively 10%. Then mixed with ruminant meat (beef, goat, buffalo), soaked with each 0, 10, 20, 30 and 40 minutes sampling for bacteria testing, cholesterol test, pH test, water binding test and cooking shrinkage test.

Abstract

The study on the growth and yield of three onion varieties in various population density planted in the marginal dryland in the District of Sungai Raya, the Regency of Hulu Sungai Selatan was conducted from December 2014 until March 2015, aiming at analysis the effect of the interaction of three onion varieties with three population density towards the growth and yield. This research used Split Plot Design arranged in random groups consisting of 2 treatment factors and 3 replications. The observation data were analyzed and continued with a further test using Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at 5% significant level. The mainplot treatment used three onion varieties and a subplot with 3 spacing of 20 cm x 15 cm, 20 cm x 20 cm, and 20 cm x 25 cm. The research result shows that (1) there is not any interaction between varieties and spacing towards the plant height, number of bulbs, diameter of bulbs, fresh weight of bulbs, dry weight of bulbs, and growth rate (GR) of plants, and (2) there is an interaction between the application of Batu Ijo variety and plant spacing of 20 cm x 20 cm able to increase of onion production per hectare and production per plot.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study influence accration of growth volume and financial analysis using silvikultur tehnique, in which Albizia,sp. Accration of growth volume used MAI and CAI and  financial properness analysis used formula PP, NPV, EAA, Net B/C, and IRR. This research started on November 2009 until January 2010, This research was carried out at PT Belantara Subur, Sote Subdistrict, District of Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan Province started on Macrh 2008 until May 2009.The result of this research shows that the growth of  Albizia sp. was influence by silvikultur tehnique and  have growth volume about 31,17 m3/Ha/Years, diameters about 38 cm and 61,5 cm, economic cycles in 10 years and feasibility.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out the effect of adding local taro flour at different levels on the chemical and organoleptik properties of buffalo meatballs. This study used a Completely Randomized Design with 5 treatments and 4 replications for each treatment i.e. P0 (100% tapioca flour), P1 (87,5% tapioca flour and 12,5% taro flour), P2 (75% tapioca flour and 25% taro flour), P3 (62,5% tapioca flour and 37,5% taro flour), and P4 (50% tapioca flour and 50% taro flour). Chemical properties of buffalo meatballs were analyzed with variance analysis and further results were evaluated by Tukey Test. Organoleptic properties of buffalo meatballs were analyzed non parametrically by Friedman Test. The difference percentage of taro flour showed a significant different on dry matter and protein content of buffalo meatballs (P<0.05). However, it showed a non significant difference on fat content  of buffalo meatballs (P>0.05). The difference percentage of taro flour also showed a non significant difference on organoleptic properties of buffalo meatballs (P>0.05). The best of dry matter, protein, and fat content were obtained in P0 and P2  at 30.51%; 9.08%; and 1.13%, respectively. Color, taste, and flavor of meatballs were preferred by panelists in P0. Texture and elasticity of meatballs were preferred by panelists in P1.

Abstract

The pekarangan is one form of agricultural open space. Empowerment pekarangan that has a shape and land cover pattern that resembles a complex agroforestry systems and the diversity of activities in integrated farming activities (mixed farming: crops, fishponds, and livestock) is expected to provide added value in food security for farming families. The research objective was to determine the characteristics of Java Ethnic pekarangan to support food security in Karang Mumus Watershed East Kalimantan. The research was conducted from March to August 2013 at Javanese pekarangan in Karang Mumus Watershed East Kalimantan. Research using surveys, questionnaires, and interviews, as well as literature. The results showed that the average area of pekarangan owned by farmers is 2,160 m2. Pekarangan managed as agroforestry systems. The pekarangan is growing with particularly high diversity of plant species of perennial crops and ornamental plants. Pekarangan which has a kind of perennial crops such as coconut that is closely related to Javanese culture as much as 79.2%. Javanese pekarangan also has a 66.7%  livestock animals (chickens, ducks, pigeons, and goats) and 20.8% had fish. The agrosilvopastura pekarangan has a total value of receipts and revenue be compared to the largest agrisilvikultur, agrosilvofishery, and agrosilvopasturafishery Rp. 91,775,000 per growing season and Rp. 77,538,690  per growing season.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan melakukan uji adaptasi terhadap 5 varietas unggul baru (VUB) padi untuk memperoleh varietas yang sesuai dengan kondisi spesifik lokasi kabupaten Merauke. Bahan yang digunakan adalah benih VUB kelas benih penjenis. Penelitian dilaksanakan di 4 kampung berbeda sebagai ulangan. Metode penelitian adalah rancangan acak kelompok satu faktorial yaitu varietas: Aek Sibundong, Inpago 1, Inpari 17, Inpari 18 dan Inpari 19. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa Inpari 17 dan Inpari 19 mempunyai produktifitas tertinggi secara berturut-turut sebesar 4.5 dan 4.2 ton/ ha. Produktifitas berkorelasi terhadap panjang malai (0.48), jumlah anakan produktif (0.39) dan gabah isi (0.43). Jadi, Inpari 17 dan Inpari 19 bisa beradaptasi dengan kondisi agroekosistem kabupaten Merauke dan masih berpotensi untuk dikembangkan agar potensi hasil mendekati nilai karakteristik VUB.

Abstract

Paddy (Oryza sativa L.) is a commodity that is widely cultivated by the people of Hulu Sungai Utara, because the area is in the low land in the form of lebak swamps. Generally cultivated rice varieties that have early maturity. The use of various new superior rice varieties is one way to increase rice productivity in addition to fertilization. By giving various doses of biofertilizer, it is expected to increase rice productivity. This study aims to determine (i) the effect of the interaction of varieties and biofertilizers, (ii) the influence of rice varieties (iii) the effect of biofertilizers, (iv) the best interaction of rice varieties and biofertilizer (v) the best rice varieties and (vi) the best dosage of biofertilizers for the growth and yield of rice plants in swampy swamps. Using a Randomized Factor Two-factor factorial group. The first factor was 3 varieties of rice (V) and the second factor was the administration of biofertilizers (P) with 5 doses. The results showed that there was an effect of rice variety interaction on the number of tillers aged 27 HST, obtained the best varieties of v1 treatment (Inpari 17 varieties) and biofertilizers at p0 treatment affected the number of tillers aged 37 HST in lebak swamps.
