Salah satu poin penting dalam menjalankan fungsi Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi oleh dosen adalah melaksanakan penelitian dan mempublikasikan hasil pemikiran serta analisisnya tersebut. Kinerja dosen yang selanjutnya menjadi kinerja jurusan, fakultas dan perguruan tinggi sangat dipengaruhi oleh seberapa luas dan berkualitasnya publikasi para dosen tetapnya. Tuntutan publikasi yang dilakukan komunitas akademik Perguruan Tinggi memberikan dampak yang cukup besar terhadap kesadaran para dosen pentingnya melakukan kajian, penelitian serta menulis karya ilmiah. Perkembangan karya ilmiah di Indonesia relatif makin baik, terutama sejak diberlakukannya regulasi pemerintah, yang mewajibkan mahasiswa S1, S2 hingga S3 untuk menulis artikel di jurnal ilmiah sebagai salah satu prasyarat kelulusan. Dosen tentunya semakin besar tuntutannya untuk aktif menulis di jurnal ilmiah baik di tingkat nasional terakreditasi maupun jurnal internasional bereputasi.

Abstract

Quality management is a set of procedures and processes to improve performance and improve work quality. The essence of quality management is a management system that is continuously endeavored and directed to increase customer satisfaction at a low cost. Cost reduction is due to the quality of the product and is free from failures resulting in losses so that the ratio between output and input is very high. The development of Quality Assurance in Education, the objectives of guarantee (Assurance) for the quality are as follows. 1) Assist continuous and continuous improvement and improvement through best practices and willingness to innovate, 2) Make it easy to get help, either money loans or facilities or other assistance from strong institutions that can be trusted. 3) Providing information to the community according to the target and time consistently, 4) Ensuring that there are no unwanted things.

Abstract

External Quality Assurance System (SPME) or Accreditation, assessment activities to determine the feasibility of study programs and tertiary institutions. Thus, the study program accreditation is an assessment activity to determine the feasibility of a study program, while university accreditation is an assessment activity to determine the eligibility of a tertiary institution. External Quality Assurance System is a verification process by the government carried out by BAN PT on the implementation of the Internal Quality Assurance System to meet or exceed National Education Standards in the form of accreditation. Informal quality assurance is carried out by a quality circle in the organization (quality circle) internal) with the main task of determining quality standards, assessment systems, and developing instruments to carry out such assessments or audits. In determining, quality standard is the first step that must be taken in the context of formal and informal quality assurance. Formal quality assurance through ISO is an application and quality assurance principles in which determine the processes and systems that are used as guidelines by the institution.

Abstract

Kindergarten is a place to learn to play, so learning is through games. Where the child's world plays, by playing children will be happy, cheerful, and happy. But all that is no longer, the kindergarten was changed to a school whose lessons were like elementary school. Parents require teachers to teach reading and writing when the task of TK is to introduce a variety of knowledge, attitudes, and skills in preparation for elementary school.

Abstract

PAIKEM adalah singkatan dari Pembelajaran Aktif, Inovatif, Kreatif,Efektif, dan Menyenangkan. Aktif dimaksudkan bahwa dalam prosespembelajaran guru harus menciptakan suasana sedemikian rupa sehinggasiswa aktif bertanya, mempertanyakan, dan mengemukakan gagasan.Belajar memang merupakan suatu proses aktif dari si pembelajar dalammembangun pengetahuannya, bukan proses pasif yang hanya menerimakucuran ceramah guru tentang pengetahuan. Jika pembelajaran tidakmemberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk berperan aktif, makapembelajaran tersebut bertentangan dengan hakikat belajar. Peran aktifdari siswa sangat penting dalam rangka pembentukan generasi yangkreatif, yang mampu menghasilkan sesuatu untuk kepentingan dirinyadan orang lain.

Abstract

This study aims to know clearly about the values of character education in the novel Island Dream Child. The method used is descriptive method means that the data obtained, analyzed, and described using words or phrases not in the form of numbers or use calculations. Results of the data analysis resulted in the conclusion that the concept of character education in the novel Dream Child Island includes several values which are: the value of honest (honest in answering questions, be honest to yourself and God, honest to themselves and parents, honestly admit shortcomings, honest opinion, and honestly admit mistakes). The value of responsibility (family responsibilities, responsibilities towards God, and responsibility to the job). Value intelligent (smart in calculating, smart in answering questions, intelligent in thought, and intelligent have an idea). The value of care (social care).

Abstract

Madrasas as one of the educational institutions must be able to meet the demands of the times and be able to show their existence as a controller of change. Madrasas must continue to develop its institutions with strategies and management that can effectively produce quality education output. Abstract

Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan Media Audio Visual materi pola lantai tari kreasi di kelas IX SMP Negeri 7 Medan. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Ciri khas PTK adalah adanya siklus-siklus yang merupakan suatu pemecahan menuju praktek pembelajaran yang lebih baik. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa Kelas IX-3 SMP Negeri 7 Medan Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018 sebanyak 1 kelas yaitu 32 orang siswa. Berdasarkan dari hasil temuan data hasil penilitian tersebut maka dapat dijelaskan bahwa pada saat siklus I hasil belajar Seni budaya khususnya pada materi pokok pola lantai tari kreasi tergolong rendah dengan rata-rata 64,24. Dengan perincian tidak ditemukan siswa (0%) yang mendapat nilai sangat rendah (0-20), siswa mendapatkan nilai rendah (21-40) ditemukan sebanyak 3 orang siswa (10%), siswa mendapat nilai sedang (41-60) sebanyak 13 orang siswa (39%), mendapat nilai tinggi (61-80) sebanyak 17 orang siswa (51%) dan tidak ditemukan siswa yang mendapat nilai sangat tinggi (81-100). Dari 32 orang siswa pada siklus II diperoleh 94% dinyatakan tuntas, sedangkan siswa belum mengalami ketuntasan sebanyak 1 orang siswa 6% dengan nilai rata-rata 87,33. Dengan demikian pada siklus ke II penulis katakan nilai siswa sudah mencapai nilai KKM penelitian ini dihentikan dan tidak perlu lagi dilanjutkan ke siklus berikutnya

Abstract

Motivation is a change in energy in a person that is characterized by the emergence of feelings and is preceded by a response to the existence of learning objectives, namely changes in behavior or appearance, with a series of activities such as reading, observing, listening, imitating This research aims to determine the increase in student learning motivation by using Inquiry approach in Class IX-1 SMP Negeri 1 Namorambe Academic Year 2017/2018. The research method is classroom action research and the research subject is Class IX-1. The class studied consisted of 34 students. Based on the learning outcomes of the first cycle, an average value of 70 was obtained. After the second cycle, there was an increase to 85. In this study, data on individual and classical learning completeness criteria were obtained, to as many as 34 students or by 100%. Thus the learning in this study can be said to have been completed. The level of student mastery of the material being taught, which is made based on the final test is 100% of students who have very high mastery. Based on the results of the research above, it can be concluded that learning using the inquiry approach in Class IX-1 SMP Negeri 1 Namorambe for the 2017/2018 academic year has increased student learning motivation.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui bagaimana kemampuan menulis teks laporan percobaan siswa kelas IX-4 SMP Negeri 7 Medan sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah ada peningkatan kemampuan menulis teks laporan percobaan penggunaan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah siswa kelas IX-4 SMP Negeri 7 Medan.  Subyek penelitian, yaitu siswa di kelas IX-4 berjumlah 32 orang yang terlibat dalam proses pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia, dengan siswa yang terdiri dari beragam karakter, serta kondisi sosial ekonomi yang heterogen, yang terdiri dari 14 orang putra  dan 18 orang  putri. Jenis penelitian  yang  digunakan  adalah  Penelitian  Tindakan  Kelas (PTK). Berdasarkan hasil kemampuan pemahaman siswa dalam belajar Bahasa Indonesia yang diukur dengan hasil jawaban siswa terhadap pertanyaan yang berhubungan dengan materi teks laporan observasi yang telah disampaikan dari setiap siklusnya mengalami peningkatan. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan peningkatan rata-rata nilai siswa. Pada siklus I rata-rata siswa mencapai 66,82 pada siklus II mencapai 78,91. Di samping itu dilihat dari ketuntasan belajar siswa juga terjadi peningkatan dari 58,82% pada siklus 1 meningkat jadi 89,74% pada siklus ke II yang sekaligus menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran telah tuntas, peneliti menyarankan kepada para guru pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia khususnya, untuk memanfaatkan berbagai media, model, dan teknik pembelajaran. Dalam hal ini menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah khusunya materi teks laporan percobaan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.
