Abstract

AbstrakKeterampilan proses sains (KPS) adalah keterampilan yang digunakan para ilmuwan dalam membentuk pengetahuan dalam memecahkan masalah dan merumuskan hasil. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan penelitian merupakan kecakapan hidup (Life skills) dan oleh karena itu merupakan hasil belajar yang paling tinggi yang harus dipelajari siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterampilan proses sains pada  siswa SMPN 14 Kota Bengkulu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data diperoleh dengan menggunakan instumen kuesioner yang berupa angket berstruktur. Angket berstruktur (tertutup) ialah jenis angket yang setelah rumusan pertanyaannya disediakan pula alternatif jawaban yang dapat dipilih oleh responden. kemudian data tersebut dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif yaitu mendeskripsikan skor dalam setiap aspek yang diamati. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa  nilai terendah yaitu sebesar 30  (termasuk kriteria rendah), nilai sedang 55 (termasuk kategori sedang) dan nilai tertinggi adalah 95 (termasuk kriteria tinggi). Berdasarkan data dari 16 responden. Hal ini menandakan bahwa sebagian siswa diantaranya belum memiliki keterampilan proses sains dan sebagian sudah memiliki keterampilan proses sains.Kata kunci: Instrument Tes, Keterampilan Proses Sains, Pelajaran IPAAbstractScience process skills (KPS) are skills that are used by scientists in shaping knowledge in solving problems and formulating results. Problem solving and research skills are Life skills and therefore are the highest learning outcomes students must learn. This study aims to determine the science process skills in students of SMPN 14 Bengkulu City. This research uses quantitative descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were obtained using a questionnaire instrument in the form of a structured questionnaire. Structured questionnaire (closed) is a type of questionnaire after the question formulation is also provided alternative answers that can be chosen by respondents. then the data is analyzed in a quantitative descriptive manner which is to describe the score in every aspect observed. The results showed that the lowest value was 30 (including low criteria), moderate value was 55 (including moderate category) and the highest value was 95 (including high criteria). Based on data from 16 respondents. This indicates that some of the students do not yet have science process skills and some already have science process skills.Keyword: Test Instruments, Science Process Skills, Natural Sciences

Abstract

This research aimed to describe efectivity of 7E learning cycle model on improvement students’concept mastery and critical thinking skills. This research was conducted by three phases, namely: (1) prepation phase to develop teaching materials, (2) validation and revision phase, and (3) learning implementation phase on class using one group pretest-posttest design. The results of research showed that: (1) Realization of lesson plan with mean score of 4.68 as very good category; (2) Frequency of the dominant students’activity namely teamwork was 28% with mean reliability of 80%; (3) Students’ positively respond to the learning model with main score of 3.2; (4) The concepts classical mastery was 94% and the indicator mastery was 79%; (5) The critical thinking skills classical mastery was 97%, the indicator mastery was 88%, and supported by high gain scores to students’ concept mastery and critical thinking skills. Based on the results, it was concluded that the implementation of 7E learning cycle model on the solubility and solubility product topic was effective to improve students’ the concepts mastery and critical thinking skills. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran learning cycle 7E terhadap peningkatan penguasaan konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam tiga tahap, yaitu: (1) tahap penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran, (2) tahap validasi dan revisi, dan (3) tahap implementasi pembelajaran di kelas dengan menggunakan rancangan one group pretest-posttest design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Keterlaksanaan RPP dengan nilai rata-rata 4,68 dengan kategori sangat baik; (2) Frekuensi aktivitas siswa yang menonjol adalah bekerja sama dengan tim sekelompok sebesar 28% dengan reliabilitas rata-rata 80%; (3) Respon positif siswa terhadap model pembelajaran dengan nilai rata-rata 3,2; (4) Ketuntasan klasikal penguasaan konsep 94% dan ketuntasan indikator 79%; (5) Ketuntasan klasikal keterampilan berpikir kritis 97%, ketuntasan indikator 88%, dan didukung dengan skor peningkatan yang tinggi terhadap penguasaan konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa implementasi model pembelajaran learning cycle 7E pada materi pokok kelarutan dan hasil kali kelarutan efektif untuk meningkatkan penguasaan konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.

Abstract

The study aims to develop the feasibility learning material based on guided discovery models on the excretory system to improve student’s learning outcomes based on the aspect of validity, practically, and effectiveness. The development of teaching material to follow 4-D model with the trial design was one group pretest posttest design. The teaching material developed in this research were the lesson plan, student book, student worksheet, and achievement test. The teaching material were tested on 30 student of VIII grade. Data were collected using validation, observation, test, and questionnaire methods and analyzed descriptively. The results showed that: (1) the validity of the teaching material developed (lesson plans, student book, student worksheet, and achivement test) were valid category; (2) practicality in term of legability student book and students worksheet were classified good while, student activities indicated that the student learning centered, and student positively responded to the learning process; (3) the effectiveness in terms of student learning outcomes both from the aspect of cognitive, skill, and attitudes of achieve mastery. Based on the above results it could be concluded that the biology teaching material guided discovery models to improve student learning outcomes were valid, practical, and effective, so it was feasible to use in learning process.

Abstract

Based on the research results, it can be concludedthattheinquiry learningmaterials with PhETsimulationprogramhasfeasibility, enforceabilityandeffectiveness ofthe good category thatcan be appliedinlearning activitiesingrade VII of SMP.Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran inkuiri berbantuan program simulasi PhET untuk melatihkan keterampilan proses sains dan pemahaman konsep IPA pada materi asam, basa dan garam di kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Sugio Lamongan. Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran dalam penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan Model 4-D dari Thiagarajan, yang terdiri dari tahap-tahap pengembangan, yaitu: define, design, develop, tanpa menggunakan tahap disseminate. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) validitas isi Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran, Buku Ajar Siswa, Lembar Kegiatan Siswa, instrumen tes pemahaman konsep, dan instrumen tes keterampilan proses berkategori baik dan layak digunakan; tingkat keterbacaan Buku Ajar Siswa dan Lembar Kegiatan Siswa tinggi dan mudah dipahami, (2) keterlaksanaan Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran sangat baik, aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran baik, dan respon siswa terhadap perangkat yang dikembangkan dan pembelajaran yang dilakukan sangat baik, dan (3) keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran sangat baik, yang diindikasikan dengan dicapainya ketuntasan hasil belajar keterampilan proses sains dan pemahaman konsep IPA. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran inkuiri berbantuan program simulasi PhET memiliki kelayakan, kepraktisan dan keefektifan yang baik sehingga dapat diterapkan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di SMP kelas VII.

Abstract

This research was done by developing science learning materials (lesson plans, student’s worksheets, student’s book, and learning achivement test) based on guided inquiry learning model using 4D development model to facilitate student’s science process skills and improving student’s learning achivement on environmental pollutions matter. The objective of this research was to trial learning materials in 35 of junior high school’s students with one group pretest-postest design. Results were analyzed by descriptive quantitative-qualitative are: (1) Validity of learning material valid category (3.00); (2) Practicalitybased on: a) Feasibility of instruction good category (3,8); b) Readability of worksheets and student’s book students stating that the content and appearance of worksheets and student’s book is interesting; c) The response of students very positively (85.6%); (3) Effectiveness based on: a) Student’s activities who stand out were practice science process skills is high category (38,5%); b) Student’s science process skill in very high category as shown by student’s worksheet achivement (3,46); c) student learning achivement increased (N-Gain: 0.2-1.0). The conclusion of this research that science learning material depeloped base on guided inquiry learnig model, eligible to facilitate student’s science process skills and improve student learning achivement in junior high school. Telah dilakukan penelitian dengan mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran (RPP, LKS, Materi Ajar, dan Tes Hasil Belajar) model guided inquiry dengan model pengembangan 4D untuk melatihkan keterampilan proses sains pada pokok bahasan pencemaran lingkungan dengan tujuan meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Sasaran penelitian adalah perangkat pembelajaran yang diujicobakan pada 35 siswa SMP dengan rancangan One Group Pretest-Postest Design. Kelayakan perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif-kualitatif dengan hasil : (1) Validitas perangkat kategori valid (3,00); (2) Kepraktisan perangkat yang meliputi: a) Keterlaksanaan baik (3,8); b) Keterbacaan LKS dan buku siswa menyatakan bahwa isi LKS dan buku menarik, c) Respon siswa sangat positif (85,6 %); (3) Keefektifan perangkat permbelajaran yang meliputi: a) Aktivitas siswa yang menonjol adalah berlatih keterampilan proses sains dengan kategori tinggi (38,5 %);  b) Hasil keterampilan proses siswa dalam mengerjakan LKS sangat tinggi (3,46); c) Hasil belajar siswa meningkat (N-Gain: 0,2-1,0).  Simpulan penelitian ini adalah perangkat pembelajaran IPA model guided inqury layak untuk melatih keterampilan proses sains dan meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa SMP

Abstract

This study explores the basic mathematics abilities of pre-service chemistry students in the specific area of mathematics that consists of four sections, on logarithms, scientific notation , algebra, and graphs. The results of this study were used to develop content lecture of chemistry mathematics course in both chemistry education curriculum and science of chemistry. The participants were 150 students that consists of three level, one level, two, and three, each of 50 respondents. The basics mathematics ab ilities of three level chemistry students were compared with each other. The questions were used in this descriptive study are all multiple choice that developed based on four mathematics concept and related with the needs of chemistry students. The results ind icated that were not significantly differents in mathematics abilities among the tree level of students. Student achievements in basic mathematics consists of logarithms, scientific notation, algebra, and graphs wer, dan respectively. The mathematics concepts that are still difficult to understanding for students were algebra manipulation, transformation of mathematics equation from exponensial to logarithm equation, and understanding of graphs both exponensia l and logarithm equation.Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi kemampuan matematika dasar mahasiswa pendidikan kimia pada konsep logaritma, notasi saintifik, aljabar dasar, dan grafik. Hasil studi digunakan sebagai dasar untuk pengembangan bahan ajar mata kuliah matematika kimia pada kurikulum pendidikan kimia dan jurusan kimia. Sampel penelitian adalah 150 mahasiswa yang terdiri atas tiga tingkatan, yaitu tingkat 1, 2, dan 3 yang masing-masing 50 orang. Kemampuan konsep dasar matematik dari tiga tingkatan akan diperbandingan satu sama lain. Instrumen yang digunakan pada metode deskriptif ini berupa tes pilihan ganda yang dikembangkan berdasarkan konsep matematika yang diukur dan relevan dengan kebutuhan mahasiswa kimia. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa perbandingan kemampuan dasar matematik antara tiga tingkatan mahasiswa tidak memberikan perbedaan yang signifikant pada sejumlah konsep matematik yang bersesuaian dan nilai total. Untuk itu, kemampuan mahasiswa pendidikan kimia secara rata-rata pada konsep logaritma, notasi saintifik, aljabar, dan grafik berturut-turut adalah 58,6; 66,3; 51,2; dan 32,8. Konsep dasar matematik yang masih sukar dipahami adalah mengubah bentuk persamaan eksponensial ke bentuk logoritma, distribusi persamaan logaritma, hukum dasar aljabar, aritmetika bilangan dalam notasi saintifik, grafik persamaan eksponensial, dan grafik persamaan logaritma.

Abstract

This study is aimed at teaching the ability of creative thinking and the comprehension of concept for students by developing science learning kit which mainly refer to guided discovery method. This is development research. The learning kit being validated by experts are syllabus, lesson plan, student work sheet, student learning book, mastering concept questions, and creative thingking questions. The learning kit was tested to 35 Grade X students in SMAN 1 Manyar. The design of study applies one group pretest-posttest with descriptive qualitative data analysis technique. The test results of learning kit are: the feasibility of lesson plan for three meetings has very good category; mastering concept ability, assessed from the mastery of indicators, reached  80% is in accomplished category; individual mastery reached70% is in accomplished category. Students’ creative thinking ability before the learning was 28,6%. It is categorized as less creative. After students having guided discovery in learning, students achieved 84,86% or creative category and the average of students’ conceptual comprehension is N-Gain > 0,70. This shows a high comprehension of concept on environment changes and waste recycling topic. Based on the test results, it is concluded that science learning kit developed is feasible, practical, and effective to teach creative thinking ability for students.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengajarkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan penguasaan konsep siswa yang dilakukan dengan cara mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran sains dengan metode guided discovery. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pengembangan.Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan meliputi silabus, RPP, LKS, buku ajar siswa, soal penguasaan konsep, dan soal berpikir kreatif yang divalidasi oleh pakar.Ujicoba perangkat dilakukan pada 35 siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Manyar. Desain Penelitian menggunakan one group pretest-postest. Parameter yang diukur meliputi keterlaksanaan RPP, tes hasil belajar, kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan penguasaan konsep.Teknik analisis data deskriptif kualitatif.Hasil uji coba perangkat pembelajaran menunjukkan: keterlaksanaan RPP selama tiga kali pertemuan berkategori sangat baik, kemampuan penguasaan konsep dilihat dari ketuntasan indikator ≥ 80% dikategorikan tuntas, ketuntasan individu ≥ 75 dikategorikan tuntas. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa sebelum pembelajaran adalah 28,6% dengan kategori kurang kreatif dan rata-rata perolehan siswa setelah pembelajaran 84,86% dengan kategori kreatif, rata-rata kemampuan penguasaan konsep setelah mengikuti pelajaran N-Gain ˃ 0,70, ini menunjukkan penguasaaan konsep yang tinggi terhadap materi perubahan lingkungan dan daur ulang limbah. Berdasarkan hasil ujicoba, disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran sains dengan metode guided discovery yang telah dikembangkan layak, praktis dan efektif untuk mengajarkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa

Abstract

Research learning characterized biology with Thinking Actively in Social Context (TASC) approach to increase creative thinking skills of students has been done tested to applied in 30 students of class X SMA Negeri 1Kebomas-Gresik with one-group pretest-posttest design. The results of this research are learning performance categorized good (3.82) in the score range 1-4, the ability to think creatively students increased due to treatment (Gain Score = 0.9 and T test = -tmearure < -ttable = -21.028 -2.045), thoroughness student learning outcomes in classical (0.93) and the individual (0.86) and thoroughness indicators (0.92) increased by the treatment (Gain score = 0.8) and categories are complete, and the response students positive (98 percent). The conclusions this research, learning with TASC approach can improve the creative thinking ability of senior high school student.Telah dilakukan penelitian pembelajaran biologi dengan pendekatan Thinking Actively in Social Context (TASC) dengan tujuan meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa dan diujicobakan pada 30 siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Kebomas-Gresik dengan  desain  one  group  pretest-posttest.  Analisis  data  secara  deskriptif  kualitatif  dengan  hasil  pengamatan  keterlaksanaan pembelajaran kategori baik (3,82) dalam rentang skor 1-4, kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa meningkat akibat perlakuan (Gain Score = 0,9 dan uji T = -thitung < -ttabel = - 21,028 < -2,045), ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa secara klasikal (0,93) dan individu (0,86) serta ketuntasan indikator (0,92) meningkat akibat perlakuan (Gain score = 0,8) dan kategori tuntas, serta respon siswa positif (98%). Simpulan penelitian ini, pembelajaran dengan pendekatan TASC dapat meningkatkan kemampuan  berpikir kreatif siswa SMA.

Abstract

Science learning materials with learning cycle 7E were developed to improve student’s critical thinking ability as the life necessities in 21st century. The purposes of this research are developing suitable science learning materials and complying eligible criteria, those are valid, practice, and effective. The subjects of this research was science learning materials with learning cycle 7E were developed to improve student’s critical thinking ability which implemented in students of first grade on junior high school of SMP Bilingual Terpadu Krian in second semester of 2015-2016 academic seasons. Learning materials were developed by 4D model and tested by using one group pretest-posttest design. Data was collected by the assessments of expert based on the validity of materials by expert, implemented lesson plan by observer, written test to measure the student’s critical thinking ability, and questionnaire to measure the student’s response of interest. The collected data was analyzed by qualitative and quantitative methods. The results of this research are the learning materials using learning cycle 7E is eligible to improve the student’s critical thinking ability. The contemplations of it are validation of the instruments in a good category, book can be read easily, feasibility of instruction in a good category, student’s critical thinking increase, student’s activities in the learning processes in a good category, and student’s response is positive.The research’s result axplain that effectiveness of lesson plain use 7E phase is not down if work sheet and students book develop by 7E phase too. The suggestion that can be inform was using 7E phase to develop work sheet and student’s book so that student’e activity more aimed and it make efficient of learning’s time. Perangkat pembelajaran IPA menggunakan learning cycle 7E dikembangkan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sebagai salah satu upaya memenuhi kebutuhan kehidupan abad 21. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan perangkat yang layak dan memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif. Subjek penelitian adalah perangkat pembelajaran IPA menggunakan ilearning cycle 7E yang diujicobakan pada siswa kelas VII SMP Bilingual Terpadu Krian pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2015-2016. Perangkat dikembangkan dengan model pengembangan 4D dan dilakukan ujicoba penerapan perangkat dengan one group pretest-posttest design. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah penilaian validitas oleh pakar, penilaian keterbacaan BAS oleh siswa, pengamatan keterlaksanaan RPPdan aktivitas siswa selama pembelajaran oleh pengamat, tes tulis untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, dan angket respon yang diisi oleh siswa. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Simpulan hasil penelitian adalah perangkat pembelajaran menggunakan learning cycle 7E dinyatakan layak untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis ditinjau dari perangkat yang valid, BAS mudah dipahami, RPP terlaksana baik, kendala pembelajaran ditemukan solusi, kemampuan berpikir kritis meningkat, aktivitas siswa baik, dan respon siswa baik positif. Implikasi penelitian adalah penerapan RPP dengan tahap 7E tidak menurunkan keefektifan ditengah dan akhir pembelajaran jika LKS dan BAS yang mendukung dikembangkan dengan tahap 7E juga. Saran yang diberikan adalah mengembangkan perangkat dengan tahap 7E tidak hanya berlaku untuk RPP, LKS dan BAS juga dikembangkan dengan tahap 7E agar kegiatan siswa lebih terarah sehingga lebih efisien dalam waktu.

Abstract

MCTS learning model (Making Critical Thinking Students) is a learning model that refers to self regulated learning and uses ICT as a learning media. The purposes of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of the MCTS model to improving the critical thinking skills and disposition of students.  This research was carried out to physics education students of Palangka Raya University who was attended the research methodology lecture.  The effectiveness of the MCTS learning model is based on (1) the results of critical thinking skills and disposition of students and (2) students respons to the model. The results of the study show that critical thinking skills of physics education students at Palangka Raya University have increased significantly, with α = 5%,  N-gain average critical thinking skills are consistently at very high criteria. Critical thinking disposition of learning a significant increase in positive criteria. Physics education students at Palangka Raya University averaged 95.33% giving a positive respons to  MCTS learning model and its devices.  Conclusion based on the results of the study of the effectiveness of the MCTS learning model is effective applied in learning to improve the critical thinking skills and disposition of physics education students of Palangka Raya University as a candidate physics teachers.   Â
