Abstract

The main goal of this research is to developed learning program of physics practicum oriented to guided-heuristic for improving students academic skills. The research method used is the R&D that was conducted in physics laboratory of FMIPA Unesa with research design one-shot case study in trial I and one group pretest-posttest in trial II. Data analysis techniques through quantitative descriptive, qualitative descriptive and inferensial statistics. The results has shown that the learning program of physics practicum oriented to guided-heuristic effectively improved students academic skills.Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan program pembelajaran praktikum Fisika Dasar berorientasi heuristik terbimbing untuk meningkatkan kecakapan akademik mahasiswa yang ditinjau dari karakteristik program pembelajaran, kecakapan akademik mahasiswa, peningkatan kecakapan akademik setelah penerapan, respon mahasiswa terhadap penerapan program pembelajaran yang dikembangkan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah R&D (research and development) dengan desain penelitian one-shot case study pada uji coba I dan one group pretest-posttest design pada uji coba II. Teknik analisis data melalui analisis deskriptif kuantitatif, deskriptif kualitatif dan statistik induktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program pembelajaran praktikum Fisika Dasar berorientasi heuristik terbimbing yang dikembangkan efektif meningkatkan kecakapan akademik mahasiswa.

Abstract

This research aims to produce physics teaching material through guided inquiry model which is valid, practical, and effective to facilitate the students’ scientific skill  in senior high school. The development of teaching material used the Kemp model and was tested in class X MIA of SMAN 1 Pasir Belengkong first semester in academic year 2014/2015 by using the one-group pretest-posttest design. The data collection used Validation, observation, tets, and questionnaire student responses. The data analysis techniques used quantitativ and qualitativ descriptive analysis. The results of this research are:1) Teaching material developed has a valid category; 2) The practicality of teaching material in terms of a good category in feasibility of lesson plans and the students’ activities in accordance with steps of guided inquiry model; and 3) The teaching material effectiveness in terms of: (a) Improving students’ learning achievement seen with high gain scores; (b)  Percentage of scientific skill of students indicated by the increased of each meeting; and (c) The students’responds toward material and implementation of learning are positive. Based on the result of the above  It’s conclusion that the teaching material through guided inquiry model are valid, practical, and effective  so that used to facilitate the students scientific skill in senior high school. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran fisika model inkuiri terbimbing yang valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk melatihkan kinerja ilmiah siswa SMA. Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran menggunakan model Kemp dan diujicobakan di kelas X MIA SMAN 1 Pasir Belenkong semester genap tahun ajaran 2014/2015 dengan one-group pretest-posttest design. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode validasi, observasi, tes, dan angket respon siswa. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis kuantitatif dan deskriptip kualitatif. Temuan hasil penelitian, yaitu: 1) Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan berkategori valid; 2) Kepraktisan perangkat pembelajaran ditinjau dari keterlaksanaan RPP berkategori baik dan aktivitas siswa sesuai dengan tahap-tahap pada model inkuiri terbimbing; dan 3) Keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran ditinjau dari: (a) Peningkatan hasil belajar siswa rata-rata tinggi; (b) Persentase kinerja ilmiah siswa ditunjukkan dengan meningkatnya setiap pertemuannya; dan (c) Respon siswa terhadap perangkat dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran positif. Berdasarkan hasil-hasil di atas disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran model inkuiri terbimbing yang dikembangkan valid, praktis, dan efektif  sehingga layak digunakan untuk melatihkan kinerja ilmiah siswa SMA.

Abstract

This research was done by developing learning materials (lesson plans, student’s worksheets, textbooks students, test understanding of the concept, Thinking skill and Social Skill) nested models based guided inquiry by using 4D development model to improve the understanding of the concept, thinking skills and social skills on the subject of light. The objective of this research is trial learning materials for 32 of junior high school’s students with the design of the one-group pretest-posttest design. Result was analyzed by descriptive quantitative - qualitative with: (a) validity of learning material is very valid category; (b) learning realization with good category; (c) the students response are positive; (d) student’s understanding of the concept is increased (high criteria); (e) thinking skill is increased (high criteria); (f) social skill increased in every meeting. In conclusions of this research, the nested model based learning guided inquiry concepts can improve the understanding concept, thinking skills, and social skill of junior high school

Abstract

This research development aims to determine the quality (validity, practicality, and effectiveness) of Physics Learning Material Using Guided Inquiry Model to Practice Student’s Critical Thinking Skills in subject of Mirror for class XI State Vocational High School 2 Kota Pasuruan. This research was conducted   in two phases, namely the development of physics learning materials using the Dick and Carey design, continued with implementation of the learning in the classroom using One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The result showed that the developing package has a valid, pratical, and effective. Validity  showed by the validator assessment of the Teacher’s Book Prototype; Student’s Book Prototype; Student’s Worksheets; Learning outcomes assessment instruments of Affective, Cognitive Product, Process, Critical Thinking Skills and Psycomotor. Practicality seen from the percentage of 100% level of practicality; scores practicality in class XI of Machine Technique is 3.78; activities that support the guided inquiry model are more dominant in learning and the irrelevant activity has decreased in every meeting; students responded positively to the student’s book prototype and process of learning using guided inquiry model that has been developed. Effectiveness seen from individual mastery of cognitive product outcomes of students of class XI Machine Technique is 100%; individual mastery of affective and psycomotor learning outcomes are 100%; all students’s critical thinking skills is increase, 10% of students change the skill from skillfull to very skillfull; 40% of students change the skill from no skillfull to skillfull and 50% change from less skillfull to skillfull. Obstacles encountered in this study are less efficient in guiding students carry out experiments and practice critical thinking skills. The research showed that the physics learning package using guided inquiry model has valid, practical, and effective to practice critical thinking skills.Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas (validitas, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan) perangkat pembelajaran fisika menggunakan model inkuiri terbimbing untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis pada materi Cermin untuk siswa kelas XI SMK Negeri 2 Kota Pasuruan. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua tahap, yaitu pengembangan perangkat mengikuti rancangan Dick dan Carey, dilanjutkan implementasi perangkat pembelajaran di kelas menggunakan One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat yang dikembangkan telah valid, praktis, dan efektif. Valid terlihat dari penilaian validator terhadap Model Pembelajaran; Buku Guru; Buku Siswa; LKS; Instrumen Penilaian Hasil Belajar Afektif, Kognitif Produk, Proses, Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis dan Psikomotor. Praktis terlihat dari persentase keterlaksanaan tahapan pembelajaran sebesar 100%, dengan skor keterlaksanaan pembelajaran di kelas XI Teknik Permesinan sebesar 3,78; aktivitas yang mendukung model inkuiri terbimbing lebih dominan dalam pembelajaran dan aktivitas tidak relevan mengalami penurunan setiap pertemuan; siswa memberikan respon positif terhadap prototipe buku siswa  dan proses pembelajaran menggunakan model inkuiri terbimbing yang telah dikembangkan. Efektif terlihat dari ketuntasan individual hasil belajar kognitif produk siswa kelas XI Teknik Pemesinan sebesar 100%; ketuntasan hasil belajar afektif dan psikomotor siswa sebesar 100%; semua siswa mengalami peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis, dari seluruh siswa 3% mengalami perubahan dari terampil menjadi sangat terampil; 50% dari tidak terampil menjadi terampil; 47% dari kurang terampil menjadi terampil. Kendala yang dihadapi dalam penelitian ini adalah kurang efisien waktu dalam membimbing siswa melaksanakan eksperimen dan melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran fisika menggunakan model inkuiri terbimbing telah valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis.

Abstract

An effective thinking skill, which is considered as an important characteristic, is needed for all grades at school. Teaching thinking skill, blending thinking skill and teaching materials (curriculum) and assesing of higher order thinking can help student to be an effective critical and creative thinker. The lecture is seldon teach about thinking, such as system thinking. Teaching thinking skill explicitly through lecturing content material could help student of Biology teacher to be effective thinker in the future. In order to improve the thinking ability of the student of Biology teacher, it could be through implementing an appropriate model of teaching such as Inquiry Training Model (ITM) combined with concept mapping. Result shown that it is about 70,33 of biology teacher candidate students are in a enough category of sistem thinking ability after following blended Inquiry Training Model (ITM) and concept mapping on general biology instruction, the achievement of indicator system thinking students was categorized good, student’s understanding about air pollution was categorized good, the correlation between student’s understanding and system thinking shows high correlation.Keterampilan berpikir yang efektif merupakan suatu karakteristik penting di sekolah pada setiap jenjangnya. Mengajarkan keterampilan berpikir secara eksplisit, memadukannya dengan materi pembelajaran (kurikulum) dan melakukan assessment berpikir tingkat tinggi dapat membantu mahasiswa untuk menjadi pemikir yang kritis dan kreatif secara efektif. Kemampuan berpikir seperti berpikir sistem jarang diajarkan secara khusus dan terpisah oleh dosen di kelas. Mengajarkan kemampuan berpikir secara eksplisit dengan memadukannya pada materi perkuliahan akan membantu mahasiswa calon guru Biologi menjadi pemikir yang efektif. Upaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir sistem calon guru Biologi dapat dilakukan dengan menyesuaikan materi perkuliahan Biologi Umum dengan model pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir sistem, antara lain yang dikemas dalam bentuk model latihan Inkuri dipadukan dengan peta konsep. Hasil analisis menunjukkan kemampuan berpikir sistem mahasiswa calon guru Biologi setelah mengikuti perkuliahan menggunakan MLI dipadu peta konsep pada materi Pencemaran udara rata rata 70,33 dikategorikan cukup, persentasi pencapaian indikator kemampuan berpikir sistem rata rata 74,33% dikategorikan baik, penguasaan konsep mahasiswa pada materi pencemaran udara rata rata 66,10 dikategorikan baik, korelasi antara penguasaan konsep dan kemampuan berpikir sistem (r) 0.9753 menunjukan korelasi tinggi.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is produce physics learning material through guided inquiry model that valid, practical, and effective to try multiple representation ability of student in senior high school. The development of learning material used the Kemp model and was tested in class X of SMAN 19 Surabaya second semester in academic year 2013/2014 with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The data collection used observation method, test, and quetionnaires. The data analysis techniques used descriptive analysis of quantitative, qualitative and statistic non parametric. The results of this research are: 1) Learning material developed has a valid category; 2) Learning material in terms of a practical category in feasibility of lesson plans and the students’ activities in accordance with steps of guided inquiry model; and 3) The learning material effectiveness in terms of: (a) Improving students’ learning achievement seen from the n-gain score with high category; (b) Improving multiple representation ability of student by getting the n-gain score with high category and the analysis results of  statistic non parametric are: 1) nothing different of multiple representation ability of student at each class, 2) different of multiple representation ability of student, and 3) nothing different of improving multiple representation ability of student at each class; and (c) The students’ responds toward material and implementation of learning are very positive. It’s conclusion that the learning material through guided inquiry model are valid, practical, and effective to try multiple representation ability of student in senior high school Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran fisika model inkuiri terbimbing yang valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk melatihkan kemampuan multi representasi siswa SMA. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan,: 1) Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan berkategori valid; 2) Perangkat pembelajaran ditinjau dari keterlaksanaan RPP berkategori praktis dan aktivitas siswa sesuai dengan tahap-tahap pada model inkuiri terbimbing; dan 3) Keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran ditinjau dari: (a) Peningkatan hasil belajar siswa terlihat dari n-gain dengan kategori tinggi; (b) Peningkatan penguasaan kemampuan multi representasi siswa terlihat dari n-gain dengan kategori tinggi dan hasil analisis uji statistik non parametrik, yaitu: 1) tidak terdapat perbedaan kemampuan multi representasi awal siswa pada kelas yang satu dengan kelas yang lain, 2) terdapat peningkatan kemampuan multi representasi siswa, dan 3) tidak terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan multi representasi siswa pada kelas yang satu dengan kelas yang lain; dan (c) Respon siswa terhadap perangkat dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran sangat positif. Disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran model inkuiri terbimbing yang dikembangkan valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk melatihkan kemampuan multi representasi siswa SMA.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to produce an intervention which is valid, practical, and effective. This intervention design research is conducted through model 4-D that limited to three phases, that is define, design, and develop. Those intervention is tried out at eight class on SMPN 30 Surabaya in academic year 2014/2015 with one-group pretest-posttest design. Data were collected using observation method, tests, and questionnaires. Data are analyzed using descriptive analysis quantitatively and qualitatively. The results show that 1) the intervention are valid categorized; 2) the implementation result of lesson plan until 99%, and the student activity show that the intervention is practice categorized to train scientific process skills, 3) students positively respond toward intervention, and the increasing of scientific process skills show that the intervention is effective to train scientific process skills. It can be concluded that the intervention design is valid, practice and effective to train students scientific process skills. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Penelitian desain bahan ajar ini menggunakan model 4-D (Four-D Model) yang dibatasi pada tiga tahapan, yaitu pendefinisian (define), perancangan (design), dan pengembangan (develop). Hasil desain bahan ajar diujicobakan pada siswa kelas VIII SMPN 30 Surabaya semester genap tahun ajaran 2014/2015 dengan One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, tes, dan angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan: 1) bahan ajar yang dikembangkan valid untuk melatih keterampilan proses sains siswa SMP; 2) Keterlaksanaan RPP yang mencapai 99% dan aktivitas belajar siswa menunjukkan behan ajar yang didesain terkategori praktis dalam melatih keterampilan proses sains siswa SMP; dan 3) Respon positif siswa terhadap bahan ajar, dan peningkatan keterampilan proses sains menunjukkan bahan ajar yang didesain efektif untuk melatihkan keterampilan proses sains. Disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar yang didesain valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk melatihkan keterampilan proses sains siswa SMP kelas VIII.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the feasibility of learning models, student activities, learning outcomes, analytical skills, and students' responses by applying guided inquiry learning models. The research method used was one group pretest-posttest design. The results obtained were (1) the percentage of the quality of the implementation of learning for three consecutive meetings, namely 96.87%, 96.87%, and 93.75%. (2) Students’ activities relevant to practicing analytical skills for three successive meetings are 88.67%, 90%, and 90.67%. (3) Student learning outcomes increased with the percentage of n-gain in the high category of 94.11%. (4) Each component of the students' analytical skills was, respectively, elemental analysis of 64.71% in the high category. In comparison, the analysis of relationships and organizational principles was 47.06% in the high category. (5) The students' responses were 92.70% and 91.92% for the learning model and LKPD. Therefore, the guided inquiry learning model can train students' analytical skills.

Abstract

The study aims at examming 1) the difference of cognitive leraning outcomes between students  who were taught by using cooperative learning model of Make a Match type and the ones taught by using The Power of Two type, 2) the difference of affective learning outcomes between students who were taught by using cooperative learning model of Make a Match type and the ones taught by using the Power of Two type 3) the difference of psychomotor learning outcomes between students who were taught by using cooperative learning model Make a Match type and the ones taught by using The Power of Two type of grade XI students at SMAN 1 Sungguminasa Makassar. The study was a quasi-experiment research which employed the static group pretest posttest design. The study used the experiment group I by implementing cooperative learning model of Make a Match type and the experiment group II by implementing cooperative learning model of The Power of Two type. The instruments of the study were the test of learning outcomes to measure the cognitive learning outcomes, observation sheet to measure affective and psychomotor learning outcomes of the students. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistic analysis and inferential statistic analysis (uji t α = 0,05 ) supported by SPSS 17.0 for windows program. that the result using The Power of Two was higher than the one using The Power of Two.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) Mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar kognitif siswa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make a Match dengan kooperatif tipe The Power of Two pada siswa kelas XI SMAN. 1 Sungguminasa Makassar 2) Mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar afektif siswa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make a Match dengan kooperatif tipe The Power of Two pada siswa kelas XI SMAN 1 Sungguminasa Makassar 3) Mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar psikomotorik siswa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make a Match dengan The Power of Two pada siswa kelas XI SMAN 1 Sungguminasa Makassar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen dengan rancangan The static Group Pretest Posttest Design. Instrumen penelitian berupa Tes Hasil Belajar (THB) untuk mengukur hasil belajar kognitif, dan lembar observasi untuk mengukur hasil belajar afektif dan psikomotorik siswa. Data dianalisis statistik deskriptif dan inferensial (Uji t α = 0,05) dengan bantuan program SPSS 17.0 for windows. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 1) Hasil belajar kognitif siswa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran The Power of Two lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make a Match 2) Hasil belajar afektif siswa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran tipe Make a Match lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe The Power of Two 3) Hasil belajar psikomotorik siswa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran tipe Make a Match lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe The Power of Two.

Abstract

This study aimed to compare the past misconception problems in photosynthesis and respiration topics with the present cases in Indonesia. This descriptive study was undertaken to mainly describe the misconception on science learning from the past to the present times. Misconception test was used as the research instrument that was given to Indonesian students from four provinces namely East Java, South Sulawesi, South Sumatra, and Middle Kalimantan. This study used an experiment conducted in 1996, of which they were further compared with the present literatures about misconception in photosynthesis and respiration, including the data of pre-service teacher class obtained from 2010 to 2017. Results found that there was a similar misconception from 1996 to 2017 about photosynthesis and respiration. There was an indication that misconception in photosynthesis and respiration was not solved properly. This study suggested that the results could be used as an awareness for teachers in accordance with numbers of misconceptions in photosynthesis and respiration that have existed since long ago. Some actions were needed to overcome the misconceptions. One of the effort is by increasing students scientific reasoning skills. By increasing of students’ scientific reasoning skills, students will be able to interpret the information they got and using some evidence that related to evaluated the information truth. But the further research is needed to develop learning devices to train students’ scientific reasoning skills.
