Abstract

This  research  aims  was  to develop  a competency-based  assessment  instruments  in subject  of  Science/Biology.  This research was carried out through the development of the following 4-D design models of Thiagarajan (1974) and then continued the implementation the classroom using One Shot Case Study Design. The data were obtained as follows: the results of the validation instruments decent role in the category; legibility of instruments indicates that the content, appearance, difficulty sentences and interesting pictures and easy to understand students; enforceability of good category; effectiveness of the instrument showed that cognitive assessment to have a reliability tes objective 0.39, the level of difficulty of items were easily as many as 11 items (36.7%), medium as many as 16 items (53.3%), and difficult as many as 3 items (10%), sensitive items as many as 27 items (90%) and less sensitive as many as 3 items (10%), while the essay test has a reliability of 0.45, an easy difficulty level items as many as 2 items (20%), medium as many as 4 items (40%), and difficult as many as 4 items (40%), sensitive items as many as 6 items (60%) and less sensitive as many as 4 items (40%); assessment of the affective domain has a reliability 0.81; assessment of psychomotor domains I has a reliability  of 0.52 and psychomotor  II has a reliability  of 0.62.  Student  field  constraints  are not  accustomed  to using competency-based assessment instrument. Based on the analysis of data, it can be concluded that a Competency-Based Assessment Instruments in subject of Science/Biology that have been developed are valid, practical, and effective.Penelitian  ini  bertujuan  untuk  mengembangkan  instrumen  asesmen  komprehensif  berbasis  kompetensi  pada  mata pelajaran IPA/Biologi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan melalui pengembangan instrumen mengikuti rancangan 4-D model dari Thiagarajan  (1974)  kemudian  dilanjutkan  implementasi  di  kelas  menggunakan  rancangan  One  Shot  Case  Study.  Data  hasil penelitian yang diperoleh sebagai berikut: hasil validasi instrumen dalam kategori layak; keterbacaan instrumen  menunjukkan bahwa isi, penampilan, kesulitan kalimat dan gambar menarik dan mudah dipahami siswa; keterlaksanaan instrumen berkategori sangat baik; keefektifan instrumen menunjukkan bahwa asesmen ranah kognitif untuk tes objektif memiliki reliabilitas 0,39, tingkat kesukaran butir soal mudah sebanyak 11 butir soal (36,7%), sedang sebanyak 16 butir soal (53,3%), dan sukar sebanyak 3 butir soal (10%), butir soal sensitif sebanyak 27 butir soal (90%) dan kurang sensitif sebanyak 3 butir soal (10%), sedangkan tes uraian memiliki reliabilitas 0,45, tingkat kesukaran butir soal mudah sebanyak 2 butir soal (20%), sedang sebanyak 4 butir soal (40%), dan sukar sebanyak 4 butir soal (40%), butir soal sensitif sebanyak 6 butir soal (60%) dan kurang sensitif sebanyak 4 butir soal (40%); asesmen ranah afektif memiliki reliabilitas 0,81; asesmen ranah psikomotor I memiliki reliabilitas 0,52 dan psikomotor II memiliki reliabilitas  0,62.  Kendala  lapangan  adalah  siswa  belum  terbiasa  menggunakan  instrumen  asesmen  komprehensif  berbasis kompetensi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, dapat disimpulkan bahwa instrumen asesmen komprehensif berbasis kompetensi pada mata pelajaran IPA/Biologi yang dikembangkan valid, praktis, dan efektif.

Abstract

This research aims to develop guided inquiry based teaching materials which is valid, practical, and effective to facilitate the students’ scientific literacy. The development of teaching material used the 4D model  and was tested in grade 7th-D of SMP GEMA 45 in the second semester of  2014/2015 by using the Pre-Experimental One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The data collection used documentation observation, test, and quetionnaires. The data analysis techniques used quantitative descriptive analysis.The results of this research are:1) Teaching material developed is valid categorised  to be use consisted of Syllabus, Lesson Plan, Student Worksheet, Student Book and Test of student learning outcomes; 2) The practicality of teaching material in terms of a good category in feasibility of lesson plans, the students’ activities in accordance with  inquiry model and students give a positive responses toward teaching material and implementation of teaching material developed; and 3) The teaching material effectiveness in terms of: (a) Improving students’ learning achievement seen from the individual and classical completeness; (b) Improving students’ scientific literacy by getting gain score between middle until high category. Based on data analyzed the teaching materials based on guided inquiry are valid, practical, and effective to facilitate the students’ scientific literacy. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri terbimbing yang layak (valid, praktis, dan efektif) untuk melatih literasi sains siswa. Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran menggunakan model 4D  dan diujicobakan di kelas VII-D SMP GEMA 45 semester genap tahun ajaran 2014/2015 dengan One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode dokumentasi, observasi, tes, dan angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan,: 1) Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan berkategori valid; 2) Perangkat pembelajaran berketagori praktis ditinjau dari keterlaksanaan RPP, aktivitas siswa sesuai dengan tahap-tahap model inkuiri, dan siswa merespon positif perangkat yang dikembangkan dan implementasinya; serta 3) Perangkat pembelajaran telah efektif ditinjau dari: (a) Peningkatan pengetahuan siswa (b) Peningkatan literasi sains  siswa. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran berbasis  inkuiri terbimbing yang dikembangkan valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk melatih literasi sains siswa sehingga layak untuk digunakan.

Abstract

Research has been done to develop the kind of integrated science teaching type webbed (Syllabus, Lesson Plans, Student Work Sheet, Student Book, Student Achievement Test) with guided inquiry model that aims to teach self directed learning and life skills junior high school students. Learning materials developed by four D model there are define, design, develop, and disseminate. Learning materials were validated by the experts to determine the validity of the materials and tested on 35 students of grade VII junior high school odd semester academic year 2015/2016 using the One Group Pre-test and Post Test Design. The data were analyzed by descriptive quantitative-qualitative. The results are: 1) The validity of the materials is very valid category (score 3.63); 2) Readability worksheet shows 100% the content interesting and easy to understand, 82.86% Student Work Sheet attractive appearance and legibility Student Book legible and suitable for use in junior high school students with an average number of sample sentences readings taken by researchers is 5.93 sentence in 100 words with the average number of syllables 145.2; 3) the successful is very good (average score of 3.71); 4) The students responded very positively (97.14%); 5) Student’s activities are student centered type; 6) increased student learning achievement (N-gain 0.74); 7) The self directed learning and improve students' life skills. The conclusions of this research are integrated science teaching materials types based guided inquiry type webbed developed is feasible to use in teaching self directed learning and ability of life skills junior high school students. Telah dilakukan penelitian pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran IPA terpadu tipe webbed (Silabus, RPP, LKS, Buku Siswa, Tes Hasil Belajar) dengan model inkuiri terbimbing yang bertujuan untuk melatih kemandirian belajar dan kecakapan hidup siswa SMP. Perangkat pembelajaran dikembangkan menggunakan model 4D (four D model) terdiri dari tahap pendefinisian (define), perancangan (design), pengembangan (develop) dan penyebaran (disseminate). Perangkat pembelajaran divalidasi oleh para pakar untuk mengetahui validitas perangkat dan diujicoba pada 35 siswa kelas VII SMP semester gasal tahun ajaran 2015/2016 dengan rancangan One-Group Pre test and Post test Design. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif-kualitatif dengan hasil: 1) Validitas perangkat kategori sangat valid (skor 3.63); 2) Keterbacaan LKS menunjukkan 100% isi LKS menarik dan mudah dipahami, 82.86% penampilan LKS menarik dan keterbacaan Buku Siswa terbaca dan layak digunakan untuk siswa SMP dengan rata-rata jumlah kalimat sampel bacaan yang diambil peneliti adalah 5,93 kalimat dalam 100 kata dengan rata-rata jumlah suku kata 145,2; 3) Keterlaksanaan sangat baik (skor rata-rata 3.71); 4) siswa merespon sangat positif (97.14%); 5) Aktivitas siswa bersifat student center; 6) Hasil belajar siswa meningkat (N-gain 0.74); 7) Kemandirian belajar dan kecakapan hidup siswa meningkat. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah perangkat pembelajaran IPA terpadu tipe webbed berbasis inkuiri terbimbing yang dikembangkan sudah valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk melatihkan kemandirian belajar dan kemampuan kecakapan hidup siswa SMP.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of meaning learning model in life organizational system material on learning feasibility, student activities, student responses, student learning outcomes (knowledge, skills and attitudes), and development character of discipline and responsibility. Subjects of the research are seventh grade students of SMP 2 Tanah Grogot, Paser district of East Kalimantan academic year 2014/2015. This is Pre-Experimental One Group Pre-test-Post Test Design research. Methods of collecting data in this research are observation, testing, and questionnaires. Technique of data analysis is using descriptive quantitative analysis. Based on the data analysis of the research obtain some findings:  a) developed learning materials are generally valid and well categorized, b) observation of study feasibility is well categorized, c) students’ activity during the learning is quite active, d) students’ response to all learning components are good and positive, e) students learning outcomes on knowledge has increased which can be seen from both individual learning outcomes, skill and attitude learning outcome after the teaching learning process are well done, f) based on the observation, discipline and responsibility character during the teaching learning process has increased well. It is concluded that the application of meaning learning models purport to improve learning outcomes, grow the discipline and responsibility character on seventh grade of junior high school students Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh model  pembelajaran pemaknaan pada materi sistem organisasi kehidupan terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa.  Parameter penelitian yang diamati adalah keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, aktivitas siswa, respon siswa, hasil belajar siswa (pengetahuan, keterampilan dan sikap) dan pengembangan karakter disiplin dan tanggung jawab. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII SMPN 2 Tanah Grogot Kab. Paser Kalimantan Timur tahun ajaran 2014/2015.  Jenis penelitian  Pre-Experimental One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, tes, dan angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian diperoleh beberapa temuan a) perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan secara umum valid dan berkategori baik, b)  keterlaksanaan pembelajaran berkategori baik, c) aktivitas siswa selama proses pembelajaran cukup aktif, d)  respon siswa terhadap seluruh komponen pembelajaran baik dan positif,  e)  hasil belajar siswa aspek pengetahuan terjadi peningkatan pada hasil belajar secara individual, hasil belajar aspek keterampilan dan hasil belajar aspek sikap  setelah mengikuti pembelajaran seluruh siswa tuntas, f)  pengamatan karakter disiplin dan tanggung jawab selama proses pembelajaran mengalami peningkatan dengan predikat baik. Simpulan hasil penelitian ini bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran pemaknaan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan menumbuhkan karakter disiplin dan tanggung jawab siswa SMP kelas VII.

Abstract

This study aims to produce physics teachinginstruments with cooperative learning model type group investigation to improve students self-efficacy and learning achievement. Development of teachinginstrumentsusing Kemp model. The experimental design uses a one-pretest-posttest design model with three time replications. Subjects in this study are teachinginstruments and students of class XI MIPA. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 3 Singaraja-Bali in the academic year of 2017/2018. Data were collected using validation method, questionnaire, observation, questionnaire and test. Data analysis techniques used are qualitative descriptive analysis and parametric statistical analysis. The results showed that the developed teachingintruments were valid, practical, and effective.The validitywas indicated by the average scores in a good categoryforlesson plan, BAS, student worksheet, achievement test and self-efficacy questionnaire.The practicisibilitywas showed by: (a) a good implementation of the lesson plan, (b) student activity is in excellent category, (c) the readability of BAS and student worksheet are in moderate categories, and (d) the obstacles during the learning activities can be overcome.The effectiveness was indicated by: (a) students’ learning achievement has increased significantly; (b) students’ self-efficacy has increased significantly; and (c) students respond is positive to the learning instruments and learning activity.  In conclusion, physics learning instruments with cooperative learning model type group investigation can be used to improve students’ self-efficacy and learning achievement.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop learning material of TPS Model by using Lectora Inspire Media on the main subject of Newton’s Law for Senior High School students. The Learning material development uses 4-D Model. Tryout II had been done to 90 students, by using one group pretest-posttest design and the replication to class X-1, X-2, and X-3 in SMA Negeri Mojoagung. The result of study shows: (1) The learning material that developed consists of: Lesson Plan, Students’ Book, Students’ Work Sheets, Lectora Inspire media, and the learning result assessment with worthy category are 3,9 – 4,0 and the reliability are 81% - 93%. (2) The developed learning material is relatively practicable, it is showed by: (a) the Lesson plan implementation is well categorized, and 100% implemented with 94% reliability, (b) the most dominant of students’ activity are asking and answering the questions in Lectora Inspire Media, (c) The students’ response toward the lesson using Lectora Inspire Media is positive, and (3) The students’ learning result is increase, it is shown by the increasing of pretest average score is 34,7 – 43,0 and the posttest average score is 79,8 – 85,5 with normalized-gain 0,68 – 0.74, (4) the constrains that faced are the students are not familiar with TPS model, the students are not familiar to connect between the video of motivation to learn with the material that will be learned. Based on the study, it can be concluded that Learning material of TPS Model with Lectora Inspire Media which developed is effective to increase the students learning result of Newton’s Law material.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran model TPS dengan media Lectora Inspire pada pokok bahasan hukum Newton untuk siswa SMA. Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran menggunakan model 4-D. Ujicoba II dilakukan pada 90 siswa, dengan desain one group pretest-posttest dan dilakukan replikasi pada kelas X-1, X-2, dan X-3 SMA Negeri Mojoagung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan meliputi: RPP, buku siswa, LKS, media Lectora Inspire, dan tes hasil belajar berkategori layak dengan skor penilaian 3,9-4,0 dengan reliabilitas 81%-93%. (2) Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan tergolong praktis, hal ini ditunjukkan oleh: (a) Keterlaksanaan RPP berkategori baik, dan terlaksana 100% dengan reliabilitas 94%, (b) Aktivitas siswa paling menonjol adalah mengajukan/menjawab pertanyaan yang ada dalam Lectora Inspire, (c) respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran dengan media Lectora Inspire adalah positif, dan (3) Hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan, hal ini ditunjukkan oleh peningkatan skor rata-rata pretest 34,7-43,0 dan untuk skor rata-rata postest 79,8-85,5 dengan normalized-gain  0,68-0,74, (4) kendala yang dihadapi adalah siswa belum terbiasa dengan model pembelajaran TPS, siswa belum terbiasa untuk menghubungkan antara motivasi belajar berupa video dengan materi yang akan dipelajari. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran model TPS dengan media Lectora Inspire yang dikembangkan efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi Hukum Newton.

Abstract

This research  is  purposed  to  develop  learning  instrument  of  chemical  analysis  for  eleventh  grade  of vocational high school student on the material of conducting water analysis and mineral through guided discovery learning model. This research is designed using Dick and Carey model whereas the experimental  design using One Group  Pretest-Posttest  Design.  This  finding  research  is learning  instrument  materials  which  developed  generally becomes acceptable or good. The analysis result of hand book and work book literacy are understandable and literate for student. The implementation of lesson plan is good but students activity for observing, discussing, and delivering opinion are dominant with 19%, 16%, and 13% respectively. Based on minimum completeness, guided discover y learning model also gave influence for students learning result which is on complete category. This research also described that N-gain comprehensions of concept average and critical thinking ability are on high category level. Students response to guided discovery learning model is good. Base on this research, it completely concluded that learning on the material of conducting water analysis and mineral using guided discovery model is able to encourage students concept comprehension and critical thinking ability.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran Kimia Analisis siswa SMK kelas XI pada pokok bahasan Melakukan Analisis Air dan Mineral (MAAM) melalui model pembelajaran guided discovery. Desain pengembangan pada penelitian ini menggunakan model Dick and Carey, sedangkan rancangan uji coba menggunakan One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Temuan penelitian ini yaitu perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan secara umum berkategori baik. Hasil analisis keterbacaan BAS dan LKS mudah dipahami dan terbaca oleh siswa. Keterlaksanaan  RPP berkategori  baik sedangkan aktivitas siswa yang dominan adalah melakukan pengamatan, berdiskusi,  dan berpendapat  masing-masing  adalah 19%, 16%, dan 13%. Berdasarkan tinjauan Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM), model pembelajaran guided discovery juga memberikan pengaruh pada hasil belajar siswa yang berada pada kategori tuntas. Hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa N-gain rata-rata pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis berada pada kategori tinggi. Respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran dengan model guided discovery dinilai baik.  Berdasarkan  hasil  tersebut,  disimpulkan  bahwa  pembelajaran  pada  pokok  bahasan  Melakukan  Analisis Air  dan Mineral (MAAM) melalui model guided discovery dapat melatihkan pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMK

Abstract

Misconceptions on kinematics experienced by 20 % of students of  X IPA 2 SMAN 2 Bontang. This problem is as a great reason for solving the barriers, as a way to improve the students’achievement. This study aimed to describe the learning process and reduction of students’ misconceptions. This study is a classroom action research. This study was carred out two cycles, namely cycle I and continued in process cycle II. Each cycles consist of four components, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. This study was in SMAN 2 Bontang, the total subject of this study is 34 students of X IPA 2. The data is collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and test conception. The conception test is multiple choice test. The number of test item are ten items followed by Certainty of Response Index (CRI) and argument-respons. The test is used to know the concept knowledge students, and the arguments is used to make sure the student’knowledge about conception. The analysis method used is descriptive qualitative. The results of the study showed that average students in mastering concept improve and students achievement improve from 41,93 and 0% (preaction) to 63,12 and 44,1% ( cycle I ) to 80,78 and 91,2 % ( cycle II ). CRI analysis result and coding argument show that student’s misconception of eight concepts tested is reduced. It can be conclude that the use of cooperative learning model based KIT and PhET can improve the learning process and reduce misconception students. Miskonsepsi pada materi kinematika gerak lurus dialami oleh 20% siswa kelas X IPA 2 SMAN 2 Bontang. Hal ini menjadi landasan kuat bahwa tindakan untuk mengatasi hambatan-hambatan dalam pembelajaran diperlukan sebagai langkah perbaikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pembelajaran dan reduksi miskonsepsi siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). PTK direncanakan dua siklus, yaitu siklus I dan dilanjutkan pada proses siklus II. Setiap siklus terdiri atas empat komponen, yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMAN 2 Bontang dengan subyek penelitian siswa kelas X IPA 2 berjumlah 34 orang. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, angket, dan tes konsepsi. Tes konsepsi berbentuk pilihan ganda sebanyak sepuluh nomor disertai Certainty of Response Index (CRI) dan argumentasi jawaban. Tes digunakan untuk mengungkap konsepsi siswa, argumentasi digunakan untuk menegaskan konsep siswa secara lebih dalam. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata penguasaan konsep siswa dan ketuntasan meningkat dari 41,93 dan 0% (prapenelitian) menjadi 63,12 dan 44,1% (siklus I) kemudian menjadi 80,78 dan 91,2 % (siklus II). Hasil analisis CRI dan pengkodean argumentasi menunjukkan bahwa miskonsepsi siswa terhadap delapan konsep yang diujikan mengalami reduksi. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif strategi konflik kognitif berbantuan KIT dan PhET dapat meningkatkan proses dan mereduksi miskonsepsi siswa.

Abstract

The aims of this research was developing an assessment instrument based on student center on physics learning. The development of this assessment used 4D models and has been implemented in students of Xth grade at Sejahtera Senior High School using One Shot Case Study design. The research revealed that the development of assessment instrument has validity with category deserves to use; the questions in the cognitive test has high reliability; the difficult of the questions get in proportion; and the sensitivity of the questions include sensitive. The correlation of assessment between student and teacher in cognitive test, skills of science process test, honesty and cooperation characters were in high corelation. Students also gived positive responses to this instrument. Based on those findings, it could be concluded that the assessment instrument based on student center deserves to use in physics learning.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen asesmen berpusat pada siswa dalam pembelajaran fisika. Pengembangan asesmen menggunakan model pengembangan 4D dan diujicobakan pada siswa kelas X di SMA Sejahtera Surabaya. Desain penelitian menggunakan One Shot Case Study. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh beberapa temuan, yaitu: instrumen asesmen yang dikembangkan memiliki rata-rata skor validitas berketegori layak digunakan; soal yang digunakan pada tes kognitif memiliki derajat reliabilitas yang tinggi; tingkat kesukaran soal cukup proporsional; serta sensitivitas butir soal yang tergolong sensitif. Kesesuaian penilaian siswa dengan guru pada tes kognitif, tes keterampilan proses sains, serta pada penilaian karakter kejujuran dan kerjasama termasuk kategori sangat tinggi. Respon yang diberikan siswa pada instrumen ini sangat positif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa instrumen asesmen yang berpusat pada siswa dalam pembelajaran fisika layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study investigated the difference of students cognitive competency, scientific skills, and responsibility level after following teaching and learning process using discovery learning type less structured guided discovery and type guided discovery and describes the implementation and students activity on physics learning using teaching material based on discovery learning approah. The Subject of this study was students 10th grade  of SMK Negeri 2 Sumbawa Besar at 2nd semester academic year 2010/2011. It was experimental research of two-groups pretesst-posttest design. The techniques of data collecting are testing and observing. The data were analyzed desciptively and by using inferential statistic. The results revealed that: (1) Students cognitive competency, scientific skills, and responsibility level after following teaching and learning process using discovery approach with less structured guided discovery type was better than guided discovery type (2) The implemnetation of physic learning by using teaching material which based on discovery learning on both less structured guided discovery and guided discovery types were each 98.08%; (3) The steps of discovery learning on both less structured guided discovery and guided discovery types have been proved to be able develope students academic competency and responsibility character; (4) Students activities at physics learning by using teaching material which based on discovery learning described activities which relevant with steps of discovery learning on both the less structured guided discovery and guided discovery types.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji adanya perbedaan kemampuan kognitif,  keterampilan ilmiah, dan tingkat tanggung jawab siswa setelah diberikan pembelajaran discovery dengan tipe berbeda dan mendeskripsikan keterlaksanaan dan aktivitas siswa pada penerapan perangkat pembelajaran fisika yang berorientasi pada pendekatan discovery dengan tipe berbeda. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMK Negeri 2 Sumbawa Besar semester genap tahun ajaran 2010/2011. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental dengan rancangan Two-Groups Pretest-Postest Design. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah pemberian tes dan observasi. Data-data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis secara deskriptif dan menggunakan statistik inferensial. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa: (1) kemampuan kognitif,  keterampilan ilmiah, dan tingkat tanggung jawab siswa setelah diberikan pembelajaran fisika melalui pendekatan pembelajaran penemuan (discovery learning) tipe less structured guided discovery lebih baik daripada tipe guided discovery; (2) keterlaksanaan pembelajaran fisika yang menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran berorientasi pada pendekatan discovery adalah  98,08 % pada kedua tipe guided discovery dan tipe less structured guided discovery; (3) aktivitas siswa  selama penerapan perangkat pembelajaran fisika yang berorientasi pada pendekatan discovery menggambarkan aktivitas siswa yang sesuai dengan tahap-tahap pembelajaran discovery baik pada tipe guided discovery maupun pada tipe less strucured guided discovery; dan (4) penerapan perangkat pembelajaran fisika yang berorientasi pada pendekatan pembelajaran discovery pada kedua  tipe less structured guided discovery dan tipe guided discovery terbukti dapat mengembangkan kemampuan akademik dan karakter tanggung jawab siswa.
