Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of steeping turmeric extract on blood pressure in hypertension sufferers. This type of research is a quantitative method with a quasi experimental design approach with a non-randomized pre and post test design with control group design. The sample for this study was 30 people with a control group of 15 people and an intervention group of 15 people. This data collection technique uses purposive sampling. The measuring instrument used is the observation sheet, Blood Pressure Monitor. The analysis used was Univariate and Bivariate with the statistical test used was paired sample t-test analysis and processed using SPSS 25.0. With the results obtained, the average blood pressure before being given the turmeric extract steeping intervention was 152/87 mmHg with a standard deviation of 8,200/4,867 mmHg, while the average blood pressure after being given the turmeric extract steeping intervention was 141/80 mmHg and the standard deviation 10,025/4,320 mmHg. It was concluded that there was a difference in the effect of steeping turmeric extract on diastolic blood pressure in the intervention and control groups with a significance value of 0.002 < 0.05. Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of educational activities on the attitudes of hypertension sufferers in carrying out preventive measures against the possibility of complications. This research method uses a pre-experimental approach with a pre-test and post-test design in one group. The results of the study showed that the average attitude towards preventing complications in hypertension sufferers before education was 25.13 and after education increased to 35.97. Analysis using the Wilcoxon Test shows a probability value (p) of 0.001, indicating p<0.05, so it can be seen that education has an influence on attitudes towards preventing complications in hypertension sufferers. The conclusion is that there is a significant difference between attitudes towards preventing complications before and after providing education to hypertension sufferers. Abstract

This study aims to map the influence of mobile applications as self-management support in management of diabetic feet. This research uses a scoping review method by entering keywords into the CINAHL, Pubmed, and Scopus databases. The research results show that mobile applications are effectived in increasing knowledge, self-care behavior, self-efficacy, compliance with self-care foot care, eating behavior, reducing wound/ulcer recurrence rates, and cost-effectiveness. The effectiveness of mobile applications can be used as a strategy in providing interventions to support self-management in the management of diabetic feet. The use of mobile applications has an impact on improving independent foot care management as well as increasing knowledge of diabetic foot care so that it has benefits in controlling glycemia, increasing adherence to diet, and increasing physical exercise. In conclusion, Mobile application-based based programs had the potential to improve self-management in diabetic foot patients. Keywords: Diabetic Foot, Mobile Applications, Self-Management

Abstract

This study aims to provide an overview of the application of modern techniques and wound dressings to accelerate healing of surgical site infections (SSI) after caesarean section (SC) delivery. This descriptive case study method involved 2 patients who experienced surgical wound infections after SC delivery at the wound care clinic. Participants were given treatment for 4 weeks with 10-12 treatment visits. Planning with TIME management and using modern dressing. The results of the case study include procedures for washing the wound using irrigation techniques and gentle rubbing using 0.9% Nacl and non-toxic gentle antiseptic soap, followed by compression with polyhexamethyl biguanide (PHMB) solution. The procedure for removing dead tissue uses mechanical techniques using scissors, tweezers and gauze and is followed by autolysis debridement using zinc cream chitosan. The procedure provides a primary dressing in the form of silver alginate at the wound undermining, zinc cream chitosan and cadexomer iodine in the wound infection phase, and using zinc hyaluride acid cream in the wound proliferation phase with a secondary dressing of polyurethane foam and fixation with transparent film. Inflammation and infection in the wound area were controlled for 3 days, proliferation until the wound closed with epithelial tissue lasted for 4 weeks. Conclusion: the treatment techniques and wound dressing materials used in wound care can be adjusted to the condition of the wound and the patient's financial ability to prove effective in accelerating wound healing. Abstract

This study aim to evaluate the success rate of laser therapy in hypertorphic, and keloid scar patients based on scar characteristics. The research method used is systematic review using data from Pubmed, Cochrane Library, Clinicaltrials.gov, and Mendeley from 1994 to July 2022. The results found a total of 28 studies, consisting of 3 retrospective studies, 5 randomized controlled trials (RCT), and 20 prospective studies included in the review. This research evaluated 11 585nm pulse dye laser (PDL) studies, 2 595nm PDL studies, 3 1064 nm Nd:Yag studies, 3 1550nm Er:Yag studies, 3 2940nm Er:Yag studies, and 6 10,600nm fractional CO2 laser studies. In conclusion, the 585 nm pulse dye laser showed the best overall therapeutic success rate. Fractional CO2 10,600nm, Er:YAG 2940nm, and Nd:YAG 1064nm lasers showed the best therapeutic response for reducing erythema, pigmentation, height, and scar consistency. Further research is needed to assess the success rate of therapy. Keyword: Keloid, Laser, Hypertrophic scar, Systematic Review

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine differences in changes in knowledge and attitudes of adolescents after being given mental health promotion. This research method is pre-experimental design with one pre-test-posttest group. This research was conducted on students of SMAN 2 Sukoharjo who were given health promotion. The results of the research before being given health promotion were 91 people who had sufficient knowledge. After being given health promotion, 91 people had good knowledge. Before being given the health promotion, 93 teenagers had Sika in the low category. After being given health promotion, 91 people had attitudes in the high category. There is a difference in teenagers' knowledge before and after health promotion (p value = 0.001). There is a difference in teenagers' attitudes before and after health promotion (p value = 0.001). The conclusion is that there is an increase in knowledge and attitudes after being given health promotion regarding mental health in adolescents. It is recommended that nurses provide health promotion to teenagers directly in schools. Keywords: Adolescents, Health Promotion, Mental health

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of dietary approaches to stop hypertension (DASH) health education on dietary compliance and blood pressure in hypertensive patients located in the Kertasemaya Health Centre Working Area, Indramayu Regency. The research method used Quasi Experimental Pre-Post Test with Control Group by providing health education to the intervention group. Consecutive sampling was selected in sampling with inclusion criteria, namely 160-190 mmHg systole blood pressure, 90-100 mmHg diastole blood pressure, no disease complications, and adult age. The exclusion criteria for this study were those who did not participate in DASH diet health education activities and experienced cognitive impairment and conditions of decreased consciousness. The results showed that there were significant differences in dietary compliance, systole, and diastole blood pressure in the intervention group before and after provided DASH diet health education (p < 0,005). It is concluded that DASH diet health education affects dietary compliance and systole and diastole pressure of hypertensive patients.
