Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality of life of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients in the outpatient department of the General Hospital in Aceh Province. The research method used a cross sectional study approach with data collection using questionnaires, namely sociodemographic questionnaires and World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL)-BREF questionnaires. The results showed that the quality of life of outpatients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the physical health domain was in the less category (54.2%) and was in the good category for three other domains, namely the psychological domain (63.3%), the social relationship domain (52.8%) and the environmental domain (33.6%). Type 2 diabetes mellitus affects the quality of life of the sufferer. Measuring the quality of life of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients is important because it can identify individuals with poor quality of life and various predictors of quality of life. Abstract

The research aims to determine the effectiveness of wound care interventions using the irrigation method in type 2 DM patients at Al-Ihsan Hospital Bandung. This research method uses a Quasy Experiment one group pretest and posttest design approach using a random sample of 7 respondents and following operational standards. The results of the study, before and after the intervention, were assessed using the BJWAT Bates-Jensen wound assessment tool to assess whether there was a decrease in the degree of injury or not, from the first session and the second assessment session. The intervention was carried out during 2 wound treatments. From the results of statistical tests, it was found that there was a significant difference in the results of the first assessment and the second assessment before and after wound treatment with irrigation with a p-value of 0.001 (P<0.05). In conclusion, the implementation of wound care interventions in type 2 diabetes patients with irrigation has proven to be effective in helping speed up wound healing, this is proven by reducing the degree or scale of wounds after the intervention. Abstract

This study aims to implement an intradialytic stationary bicycle exercise intervention to improve fatigue symptoms in hemodialysis patients. The research method used is a literature review. Research results The research results showed that there were significant differences between the experimental group and the control group on fatigue subscales such as decreased motivation (P = 0.02) and mental fatigue (P = 0.046). Also, there were significant differences between the experimental and control groups in all fatigue subscales during the third month of intervention and 1 month after intervention. In addition, the results showed that exercise prevented the development of mental fatigue in the experimental group. In conclusion, exercise with a stationary bicycle prevented an increase in fatigue and its subscales, especially mental fatigue, in the test group. Keywords: Hemodialysis, Fatigue, Stationary Bike

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of active Range of Motion (ROM) training on increasing lower extremity muscle strength and joint range of motion in the elderly. A total of 55 elderly people who live in the work area of a community health center with complaints of activity disruption were respondents to this study. The research design used was pre-experimental with a one group pretest-posttest design. In the first stage, a pre-test is carried out to assess lower extremity muscle strength and joint range of motion before administering the procedure. Next, the Range of Motion (ROM) exercise is given once, followed by a return measurement after the action. The results of measurements before and after administering the action were analyzed using the Paired T test. It was found that there was a significant increase in lower extremity muscle strength and joint range of motion in the elderly after active ROM training. This shows that active ROM training is effective in increasing muscle strength and joint range of motion in the elderly. It can be concluded that active Range of Motion (ROM) training is an effective method and can be integrated into fitness programs for the elderly to improve muscle health and joint function. Regular implementation of this exercise can be a strategy in promoting the health of the elderly and minimizing the risk of decreased physical function due to aging.
