Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital yang pesat membawa dampak positif sekaligus tantangan baru bagi remaja, terutama dalam menjaga kesehatan fisik, mental, dan keselamatan saat beraktivitas di dunia maya. Kurangnya kesadaran terhadap penggunaan internet yang sehat dan aman juga sering dipengaruhi oleh minimnya dukungan lingkungan sekolah dan keluarga. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi digital sehat dan aman melalui model pelatihan hybrid berbasis website edukasi “sipakainga.com” yang melibatkan siswa, guru, dan orang tua siswa SMP Negeri 12 Makassar. Metode pelaksanaan terdiri atas pelatihan tatap muka dan pembelajaran daring melalui tiga jenis modul edukasi (modul siswa, modul guru, dan modul orang tua). Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan pre-test dan post-test terhadap siswa, serta observasi dan wawancara terhadap guru dan orang tua. Sebanyak 32 siswa, 10 guru, dan 15 orang tua berpartisipasi aktif dalam kegiatan ini. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya peningkatan rata-rata nilai pengetahuan siswa dari 75,34 menjadi 76,43 dengan tingkat pertumbuhan (growth rate) sebesar 1,45%. Walaupun peningkatan ini belum signifikan secara statistik (p = 0,14), kegiatan ini mendorong perubahan perilaku positif pada siswa dalam penggunaan gawai, serta meningkatkan peran guru dan orang tua dalam pengawasan dan pembinaan digital anak. Program ini membuktikan bahwa model pelatihan hybrid berbasis website efektif dalam menumbuhkan kesadaran dan kolaborasi antara sekolah dan keluarga untuk menciptakan budaya digital yang sehat, aman, dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Graha Harapan Housing Complex RW 19 in Mustikajaya Village, Bekasi City, is a residential area with a middle-income socio-economic background, but it has significant potential for community-based waste management. Since 2021, a Waste Bank has been established with the aim of raising public awareness and providing environmental and economic benefits. However, its implementation has been suboptimal due to limited infrastructure, low understanding, and a lack of active community involvement. The goal is to improve the knowledge and skills of Waste Bank administrators in financial administration, recording, and reporting, in order to create a more professional management system. Activity methods include outreach to residents, technical and administrative training, and the application of technology to support efficient Waste Bank management. Activities are continued with mentoring, periodic evaluations, and system strengthening to ensure the program runs independently and sustainably. The implementation of Community Service (PKM) activities at the Berseri 19 Waste Bank went well and according to plan. The PKM team succeeded in establishing formal cooperation with the waste bank administrators and identified the main problem, namely the still manual financial recording. As a solution, a simple financial recording application was developed and tested with the administrators. In addition, outreach programs were conducted for residents, which successfully increased their interest in becoming active customers. These activities also directly involved students, which helped strengthen the participatory and partnership-based approach in the community empowerment program. The PKM activities successfully increased institutional capacity and community participation, and encouraged more effective and sustainable Waste Bank operations.

Abstract

The Community Service Program entitled “Improving Product Quality and Production Technology Training for Onion Crackers to Increase the Income of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Beringin District, Deli Serdang Regency” was implemented to address issues related to low product quality and inefficient production processes among partner MSMEs. Field observations identified several problems, including manual production methods, inconsistent product quality, and limited packaging and marketing strategies. The implemented solutions included training in the use of simple production technologies such as dough mixer machines, automatic cutters, and controlled-temperature frying. In addition, participants received training in modern packaging and digital marketing through social media platforms. The program outcomes indicated increased production efficiency, more consistent product quality, and wider market reach. The partners showed strong enthusiasm in applying the introduced technologies, and the program successfully met its intended objectives.

Abstract

Catfish (Clarias sp.) is an important fishery commodity in Indonesia. Seeing the potential of catfish, a group of teachers and students at Taruna Jaya 1 Middle School Surabaya attempted to utilize the school grounds for catfish cultivation activities as a learning tool for students. However, the implementation of catfish cultivation itself still faces many obstacles, the most important of which is the high cost of feed. Therefore, the community service team of the Department of Aquaculture, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Airlangga University took the initiative to introduce the use of probiotics in catfish cultivation to a group of teachers at Taruna Jaya 1 Middle School Surabaya, through mentoring. This mentoring was carried out in four activities: surveys, socialization of probiotic use in catfish, demonstrations of their use, and evaluations. The mentoring activity of optimizing freshwater fish cultivation by providing probiotics in feed at Taruna Jaya 1 Middle School Surabaya was carried out well. Through this activity, the school community there also gained knowledge and skills related to the application of probiotics in catfish cultivation. This is shown in the results of the pretest, which was previously 20%, and increased to 90%. This activity is expected to increase the productivity of catfish farming there and provide teachers and students with the necessary skills to effectively conduct cultivation activities. The school is expected to continue implementing probiotics in catfish farming activities at Taruna Jaya 1 Middle School Surabaya.

Abstract

AI technology has developed rapidly. Its use in education is currently a focus of attention. The purpose of this activity is to provide education to the public about eye makeup and its impact on eye health in the form of bulletin media. The target subjects of this activity are people who receive information via Whatsapp links. The material delivered through the bulletin is facts and myths about eye makeup and health; how to choose makeup products that are safe for the eyes, and the risk of eye infection due to the use of unhygienic eye makeup. The content of the bulletin media is compiled with the help of AI, which is then evaluated and edited by the author for the accuracy of the information. The media design was carried out using Canva and image assets from Freepik. From the results of the activity, it was found that the majority of participants were not aware that the bulletin media was made by integrating AI technology. In addition, all participants, who were women, also stated that they felt the benefits of the information conveyed from the bulletin media. Thus, it can be concluded that AI can be integrated in the creation of media for community service activities while still upholding responsibility and ethics.

Abstract

The optimizing quality of marginal lands to support extensification of agricultural requires specific-location improvement strategies.  The application of biomass from fermentation biotechnology has the ability to improve the soil quality. Livestock waste is a potential sources of biomass. On the other hand, the partner has insufficient understanding dan skill in managing waste of their livestock. The quantity of livestock in the partner locations is large. These are required for proper management, especially in terms of feeding, animal health, and waste management, as these factors could impact the quality of livestock. Optimizing the utilization of the livestock waste program is highly relevant and can be enchanced by the appropriate technology application, which will improve the quality of  agriculture and animal husbandry in the area. The aims of these programs are to transfer of biotechnology knowledge and skill for the waste livestock management i.e. composting, bio-urine fermentation, beneficial microorganism application and packaging of these product. This program combined methods such as knowledge sharing, training, application of technology-mentorship and evalution of implementation and sustainability program. The outcomes of the program shown that the partners have understood the importance of livestock waste managing and are capable of processing it independently into compost and bio-urine-enriched functional  microbes. Furthermore, the partners could also have the ability to package their product for marketing purposes.

Abstract

Bali is one of the most famous destinations in the world and trash will always be one of the problems. Since few years back Bali goverment intense education to the local society about waste management, especially the separation between organic and inorganic trash. Even though waste management education is not easy for the special needs early education student because of some reason such as facility limitation, the student understanding and the integration between education implementation with the environmental education is not optimal. Therefore, as a community service from the Institute of Science and Technology Nahdlatul Ulama Bali (ISTNUBA) tried to deliver education for the special needs children in the Special Need School No 1 Denpasar. The aims of this activity are to make the student understand more about organic and inorganic waste, to give an evaluation for the activity whether it is effective or not and to get suggestions for future activities. The methods are explaining in small student groups and practice as a game. The result is the method effective  for the early education special needs student. The higest suggestions is after waste separation management.

Abstract

This community service activity was motivated by the low quality and competitiveness of palm sap sugar products produced by the Serba Usaha Farmer Group in Hargorojo Village, Purworejo. The main issues included unhygienic traditional production methods, unstable moisture content, and unattractive packaging and branding. The objective of this program was to improve the quality and competitiveness of palm sap sugar through the application of food technology using a sugar drying machine and an integrated rebranding strategy. The methods involved field observation, training on the use of the drying machine to achieve standardized moisture levels, mentoring in packaging and label design, and evaluation of implementation results. The outcomes showed a significant improvement in product quality, characterized by drier texture, more uniform color, and longer shelf life. Furthermore, the farmer group gained a better understanding of the importance of process standardization and visual branding in enhancing market appeal. The rebranded product received positive feedback from local consumers and began to be distributed to regional souvenir shops. In conclusion, the application of a sugar drying machine as a simple food technology combined with rebranding strategies effectively improved the quality, added value, and competitiveness of palm sap sugar products.

Abstract

Keterbatasan lahan di kawasan perkotaan menjadi tantangan dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan pangan keluarga. Salah satu solusi yang dapat diterapkan adalah Budidaya Ikan Lele dalam Ember (Budikdamber) yang dikombinasikan dengan tanaman kangkung sebagai bentuk akuaponik sederhana. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Perumahan Pelita Indah, Desa Bandar Kidul, Kota Kediri, bertujuan meningkatkan ketahanan pangan rumah tangga dengan mengoptimalkan lahan terbatas secara produktif melalui budidaya ikan dalam ember (budikdamber). Metode pelaksanaan meliputi enam tahapan, yaitu identifikasi masalah, persiapan kebutuhan, sosialisasi dan penyuluhan, pelatihan dan demonstrasi, pendampingan dan monitoring, serta evaluasi dan tindak lanjut. Tim pengabdian menyiapkan alat dan bahan berupa galon bekas 6 buah berkapasitas 15 liter/galon, bibit ikan lele ukuran 7-8 cm, benih kangkung serta pakan ikan.  Evaluasi peserta pengabdian dilakukan dengan soal pre-test dan post-test yang mencakup empat parameter, yaitu pengetahuan terhadap budikdamber, pemahaman terhadap budikdamber, ketertarikan terhadap budikdamber, dan analisa kemanfaatan budikdamber. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan >80% di semua parameter. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman masyarakat tentang budikdamber serta efektif sebagai model ketahanan pangan keluarga yang ramah lingkungan dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The Ngudi Mulyo Farmers Group in Caturharjo, Sleman, faces challenges in horticultural cultivation due to conventional methods. The main problems are the wasteful water consumption of manual irrigation (20-25 L/plant) and the high risk of crop failure (30-70%) due to fungal attacks triggered by uncontrolled humidity. Farmers need to be introduced to more efficient and protected technologies. This community service (PkM) activity aims to empower partners by transferring smart farming greenhouse technology packages as a pilot project. The main objective is to provide farmers with experience growing crops using efficient, pest-free technology that produces maximum yields in a controlled environment. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR), involving 20 active farmers in five stages: (1) Socialization and FGD, (2) Technical training, (3) Implementation and installation of technology, (4) Intensive mentoring, and (5) Program evaluation. The core activity is the installation of a 5x10 meter pilot greenhouse with 99 melon plants, equipped with an innovative drip irrigation system integrated with solar panels. Results: This program successfully implemented one pilot smart farming greenhouse unit that is 100% operational. The innovative solar-powered drip irrigation and automatic fertilization system has proven to be successful and functioning well. Partners have completed one melon planting cycle (3 months) under intensive mentoring, thus gaining direct experience in operating precision cultivation technology that is water efficient and pest-free. This pilot program has successfully transferred integrated smart farming technology. Partner farmers now have experience and a technology prototype for efficient and protected cultivation, which is expected to be replicated on a larger scale based on the pilot harvest results.
