Abstract

In the era of globalization and increasing environmental awareness, organizations are required to not only pursue productivity and profits but also ensure operational sustainability through Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) strategies. This study aims to evaluate the influence of green abilities and green motivation components on employee performance and examine the mediating role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in strengthening this relationship. A survey was conducted on 175 Civil Servants (Pegawai Negeri Sipil/PNS) in West Sumatra, and quantitative approach was used, and a survey was conducted on 175 Civil Servants (Pegawai Negeri Sipil/PNS) in West Sumatra. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method. The results show that green abilities significantly influence AI utilization and employee performance, while green motivation directly improves performance but has no effect on AI utilization. The role of AI is also proven to be positive, having a direct impact on performance and serving as a mediator between green abilities and employee outcomes. Conversely, AI does not mediate the relationship between green motivation and performance in a statistically significant manner. These findings emphasize the importance of building environmental competencies through green training and integrating AI-based solutions to support sustainable performance in the public sector.

Abstract

The study examines the effectiveness of employee income allowances at the Secretariat of the Regional People’s Representative Council of Central Sulawesi Province, addressing a research gap where prior studies mainly focused on technical budget distribution without linking it to performance in legislative institutions. This study aims to at evaluating this policy within a holistic framework covering budget realization, employee performance, and Civil Servants’ behavioral responses it applies a qualitative descriptive method using observations, interviews with six key informants, and document analysis. Effectiveness was measured by comparing budget realization and plans in line with the Decree of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 690,900,327 of 1996. Findings indicate that from 2021 to 2024, budget realization consistently exceeded 100%, demonstrating strong administrative alignment between planning and employee needs. However, this fiscal efficiency did not fully translate into improved performance quality due to challenges such as inadequate performance appraisal mechanisms, limited technology, and weak supervision. The study concludes that allowance effectiveness depends not only on budget absorption but also on integrated evaluation systems, adaptive leadership, and sufficient supporting infrastructure.

Abstract

Vocational maritime education plays a critical role in preparing students for the psychological and professional demands of seafaring by fostering essential character traits, personality profiles, and perceptions of school management. This study aimed to examine sailor character traits, Big Five personality profiles, and school management perceptions among vocational maritime students in Surabaya, Indonesia, to understand their readiness for maritime careers. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, involving 96 students who completed questionnaires on character traits, personality, and school management perceptions, with data analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. The findings revealed that discipline was the most prioritized trait at 66%, followed by vigilance at 42%, while 53.1% of students exhibited moderate conscientiousness in their personality profiles. School management was perceived as moderately effective by 49% of students, with teaching innovation rated highest. These results indicate that vocational maritime education effectively cultivates traits and psychological readiness for seafaring, though improvements in school management are needed. The study highlights the importance of strengthening character-building and personality development programs to enhance students’ mental preparedness for maritime professions.

Abstract

Manufacturing industries face increasing pressure to adopt green innovation to balance environmental sustainability and competitive performance, particularly in developing economies like Indonesia. This study investigates how dynamic capabilities, influenced by market dynamics and moderated by technological capabilities, green innovation performance in Indonesian manufacturing firms. The research aims to examine the relationships among these variables and their impact on sustainable outcomes. A cross-sectional, multi-informant survey was conducted with 250 manufacturing firms in Indonesia, using validated scales to measure market dynamics, dynamic capabilities, technological capabilities, and green innovation performance. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling. The findings confirm that dynamic capabilities and technological capabilities significantly enhance green innovation performance, with market dynamics acting as a strong antecedent to dynamic capabilities. However, the moderating effect of technological capabilities is weak, likely due to Indonesia’s infrastructural and regulatory constraints. This study concludes that Indonesian manufacturing firms can improve green innovation by strengthening dynamic capabilities and investing in technological infrastructure, despite local challenges. These findings offer insights for managers and policymakers to foster sustainable practices in developing economies.

Abstract

Tourism villages, such as those in Bangkalan Regency, hold significant potential to boost local economies, but their success depends on effective promotional strategies. This study aims to examine the use of social media marketing as a promotional tool for developing tourism villages, focusing on Tlangoh Beach Tourism Village. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, using field observations, in-depth interviews with one manager and four visitors, and documentation of social media content. The findings reveal that the tourism village uses Facebook and Instagram for promotion, but the efforts are suboptimal due to infrequent posts, limited engagement, and reliance on word-of-mouth as the primary information source for visitors. Financial constraints and a lack of skilled personnel further hinder effective marketing. To improve, managers should enhance content quality, increase posting frequency, and establish partnerships with travel agencies or local institutions. This study concludes that social media marketing can significantly enhance tourism village promotion if implemented consistently and strategically. It contributes to understanding how resource-constrained destinations can leverage digital platforms and offers practical insights for managers to increase visitor numbers through targeted, cost-effective strategies.
