Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of growth mindset on self-efficacy, as well as its influence on students’ learning outcomes in the Pythagoras' Theorem topic, both directly and indirectly through the mediation of self-efficacy, among eighth-grade students at SMPN 15 Mataram in the 2024/2025 academic year. This research employed a quantitative approach with an ex-post facto design. The population consisted of 371 students, and a sample of 54 students from classes VIII-B and VIII-G was selected using cluster random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and tests, and analyzed using SPSS software along with the Macro PROCESS Model 4 to test the mediation model. The results showed that 1) growth mindset had a positive and significant effect on students’ self-efficacy (a=0,740, p<0,001); 2) there was no significant direct effect of growth mindset on learning outcomes (c'=0,349, p=0,249); 3) there was a positive and significant indirect effect of growth mindset on learning outcomes through the mediation of self-efficacy (ab=0,930, CI [0,478 to 1,438]), indicating full mediation. Thus, self-efficacy is proven to act as a full mediator in the relationship between growth mindset and students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) model on students' learning outcomes. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design was employed. The experimental group received instruction using the RME model, while the control group was taught using direct instruction. The population of this study consisted of all seventh-grade students at MTs Dakwah Islamiyah Putri Nurul Hakim in the 2024/2025 academic year, totaling 126 students divided into four classes. The sample was selected using simple random sampling, resulting in class VII B (32 students) as the experimental group and class VII C (32 students) as the control group. Data were collected using a learning outcome test. Hypothesis testing was conducted using the t-test, which yielded a t-value (tₕitung) of 3.203 and a t-table value (ttabel) of 1.999. Since tₕitung > ttabel, the null hypothesis was rejected, indicating a significant difference in learning outcomes between students taught with the RME model and those taught with direct instruction. The effect size was calculated to be 0.801, which falls into the moderate category. This suggests that the RME model has a meaningful impact on students' mathematics learning outcomes. outcomes of Grade VII students at MTs Dakwah Islamiyah Putri.

Abstract

Mathematical representation ability is an essential aspect of solving mathematical problems, particularly in the topic of relations and functions. However, in practice, many students struggle to express mathematical ideas through verbal, visual, and symbolic representations. One factor that may influence this ability is self efficacy, or students’ belief in their ability to complete mathematical tasks. This study aims to describe students’ mathematical representation ability in solving problems on relations and functions viewed from their self efficacy. The research was conducted at MTs Negeri 2 Mataram in the academic year 2024/2025 using a descriptive qualitative method. The subjects consisted of three eighth-grade students representing high, moderate, and low self efficacy categories based on questionnaire results. The instruments used included a self-efficacy questionnaire, a mathematical representation test, and interview guidelines. The findings show that students with high self-efficacy were able to fulfill all types of representation accurately and completely. Students with moderate self efficacy showed partial ability but were inconsistent. Meanwhile, students with low self-efficacy experienced difficulties in all forms of representation. These findings indicate a tendency that self efficacy plays a role in students’ quality of mathematical representation ability.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of learning styles and learning discipline on mathematics achievement among Grade XI students at SMAN 1 Kopang in the 2024/2025 academic year. This is a quantitative study using the ex post facto method. The population consists of 98 students, and the sample of 51 students was selected using simple random sampling based on the Taro Yamane formula. Data were collected through questionnaires and tests, and analyzed using linear regression. The relationship between learning styles and mathematics achievement is expressed by the equation Y= 0,501X1 + 27,995, with a correlation coefficient of 0.320, indicating a weak relationship. Meanwhile, the relationship between learning discipline and mathematics achievement is expressed by Y= 0,646X2 + 22,975, with a correlation of 0.435, indicating a moderate relationship. Simultaneously, learning styles and learning discipline together show a relationship with mathematics achievement through Y= 0,459X1 + 0,618X2, with a correlation coefficient of 0.524, categorized as moderate. The coefficient of determination is 24.4%, indicating that both variables simultaneously influence students’ mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

Determining the most efficient distribution route often encounters difficulties, especially at the LPG gas agency of PT. Cahaya Mentari Bumi Perkasa, where routes are primarily selected based only on the drivers' intuition. The firm manages 35 distribution sites with 3 fleets, each capable of holding 560 cylinders. This study seeks to identify the most efficient distribution route and assess the distribution costs of the company's existing route in comparison to the proposed route, utilizing the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) model, constrained by vehicle capacity and fluctuating demand, known as the Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CVRP). The methodology employs the Cheapest Insertion Heuristics (CIH) algorithm to generate the first solution and utilizes Dynamic Programming (DP) as the precise technique for optimal route refinement. The findings indicate that employing Dynamic Programming to enhance the Cheapest Insertion Heuristics method effectively optimizes distribution routes, resulting in roughly 28% reduction in trip distance, 8.2% decrease in journey time, and 19,9% reduction in distribution expenses. The improvement decreased the number of trips from 9 to 8, resulting in enhanced fleet utilization.

Abstract

This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) aimed at improving students’ mathematics learning outcomes on the topic of Lines and Angles through the implementation of the Discovery Learning model. The problem in this study is the low initial understanding of geometry concepts among students, particularly in the topic of lines and angles, which negatively affects their mathematics learning outcomes. This is evident from the pretest results, which showed that only 4 students (9.3%) achieved the Minimum Mastery Criteria (MMC). The research was conducted in two cycles using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which includes the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects consisted of 43 seventh-grade students from class VII E at SMPN 1 Mataram, who received treatment in the form of the Discovery Learning model implementation by the researcher. Data were collected through student activity observation sheets and learning outcome tests, which were then analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. In Cycle I, the learning focused on the types of angles (2 meetings), while in Cycle II, the focus was on the relationships between angles (3 meetings). The success criteria were determined based on students achieving MMC ≥ 75 and classical completeness ≥ 85%. The results showed an increase in classical completeness from 46.5% in Cycle I to 86% in Cycle II. Thus, the implementation of the Discovery Learning model proved effective in improving students' mathematics learning outcomes.
