Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi keterkaitan antara disiplin ilmu sejarah dan matematika melalui kajian etnomatematika pada Situs Candi Badut di Malang. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif-etnografi dengan model analisis Spradley, penelitian ini mengintegrasikan observasi metrik lapangan, studi dokumen pemugaran, serta wawancara mendalam untuk membedah unsur-unsur geometri pada struktur badan candi dan objek Lingga Yoni. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan adanya implementasi geometri kompleks yang melampaui estetika visual, mencakup penggunaan lima bentuk dasar seperti segitiga, persegi, persegi panjang, trapesium, dan setengah lingkaran. serta penerapan transformasi geometri berupa refleksi dan dilatasi yang presisi. Analisis rasio pada fragmen atap 1,36 dan 1,51 serta volume Yoni 542.324,04 cm memberikan bukti konkret mengenai kecanggihan teknik arsitektur masyarakat Kerajaan Kanjuruhan abad ke-8 yang mengadopsi prinsip Vastu Shastra. Temuan ini menyimpulkan bahwa Candi Badut bukan sekadar artefak religi, melainkan sebuah laboratorium matematika kuno yang merepresentasikan local genius Nusantara. Implikasi penelitian ini mendukung pengembangan model pembelajaran matematika kontekstual berbasis budaya (culture-based learning) di sekolah.

Abstract

The development of modern education requires a paradigm shift in learning from mere knowledge transfer to a meaningful learning process oriented towards conceptual understanding. However, classroom learning practices are still dominated by surface learning that emphasizes memorization rather than deep conceptual understanding. This condition highlights the importance of applying pedagogical approaches that can foster active student involvement in knowledge construction, such as deep learning pedagogy rooted in constructivism principles. This study aims to systematically review various studies examining the relationship between deep learning pedagogy, constructivism, and students' conceptual understanding. The study was conducted using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with PRISMA guidelines for articles published in 2021–2025, resulting in 15 relevant articles for thematic analysis. The results show that the integration of deep learning pedagogy and constructivism effectively improves conceptual understanding through project-based, problem-based, and reflective learning. The conclusion of the study confirms that the synergy of these two approaches strengthens the interconnection between concepts, develops critical thinking, and shapes independent and reflective learners in line with the demands of modern education.

Abstract

Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death worldwide, including in Indonesia. WHO data from 2023 records 17.8 million deaths due to heart disease. Meanwhile, in the Karo region from June 2024 to August 2024, around 1,616 patients suffered from heart disease and received outpatient treatment. The main factors causing heart disease include gender, age, blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, family history, and smoking habits. This study aims to analyze risk factors associated with heart disease and visualize the relationship patterns between risk factor variables and heart disease using the RSVD Biplot method. This method detects 5 outliers in congenital heart disease data with a GOF of 51.24% and visualizes the relationships between variables in a two-dimensional space. The results of this study show that the primary factors significantly associated with heart disease are high cholesterol, where smoking leads to increased blood pressure. High blood pressure causes damage to blood vessel walls. Visualizing the relationship patterns between factors related to heart disease makes it easier to see how variables interconnect in low dimensions. Through visualization, we can identify which factors most influence heart conditions. Thus, the RSVD Biplot method provides insight into the complex relationships between risk factors and heart disease, enabling the design of more effective heart disease prevention strategies.

Abstract

This research aims to develop ethnomathematics-based critical thinking skills tasks within the context of the Tabut Bengkulu structure that meet the criteria for validity. The urgency of this study is driven by the significance of 21st century critical thinking skills, which demand contextual assessment innovations for students. Utilizing the Research and Development (R&D) method with the Tessmer’s formative evaluation model as adapted by Zulkardi, this study encompasses stages from preliminary research to formative evaluation (self-evaluation, expert review, and one-to-one). The designed instruments consist of five essay items integrating Facione's critical thinking indicators with the Bengkulu curtural context of Tabut Bansal. The results indicate that prototype 1 was declared valid in terms of content, construct, and language by the three validators. One-to-one trials with junior high school students also demonstrated that the tasks possess good readability and are capable of stimulating student’s cognitive activity in solving contextual mathematical problems. This research produced prototype 2, comprising five essay items designed to train and measure mathematical critical thinking skills in junior high school.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) Matematika berkonteks budaya Kue Bay Tat dengan pendekatan Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) untuk memfasilitasi literasi numerasi peserta didik. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan Research and Development (R&D melalui model pengembangan 4D yang dimodifikasi. meliputi tahap Define, Design, dan Develop. Subjek dalam penelitian ini meliputi 20 siswa kelas VIII SMPN 9 Kabupaten Lebong. Eksplorasi data diakomodasi melalui instrumen lembar validasi ahli disertai angket respon guru maupun peserta didik untuk menilai kepraktisan LKPD. Data yang terkumpul dibedah dengan teknik analisis kevalidan dan kepraktisan. Temuan empiris mengonfirmasi bahwa LKPD yang dikonstruksi dalam penelitian ini mengagregasi skor sebesar 88,65% yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat valid. Selain itu, hasil uji kepraktisan berdasarkan respon guru dan peserta didik mengagregasi pada angka sebesar 90,43% dengan kategori sangat praktis. Dengan demikian, LKPD Matematika berkonteks budaya Kue Bay Tat dengan pendekatan STEAM dinyatakan layak menjadi basis sumber belajar untuk memfasilitasi literasi numerasi peserta didik melalui pembelajaran yang kontekstual, bermakna, dan berorientasi pada budaya lokal.

Abstract

The learning of geometric transformations in schools is often reduced to procedural understanding, which triggers epistemological barriers and existential anxiety for students. The research problem of this study concerns the essence of students' subjective experiences in the topic of geometric transformations. This study aims to reconstruct the essence of students' subjective experiences in learning this material to fill the gap in the literature that has long been dominated by cognitive-quantitative studies. The novelty of this research lies in revealing the emotional dimension and embodied experience from a first-person perspective. Through a qualitative method with a phenomenological design, data were collected through in-depth interviews and participatory observation of students at one Private Madrasah Aliyah in Kota Batu. The results of the study reveal four main structures of experience: (1) mathematical anxiety operates as a pre-reflective barrier that blocks access to cognition; (2) the phenomenon of embodied cognition where the body and physical gestures become vital anchors in spatial abstraction; (3) the occurrence of silent struggle due to pseudo intersubjectivity in the classroom; and (4) ontological transformation from fear towards self-meaning. The research conclusion emphasizes that learning geometry is not merely a cognitive event, but a phenomenological event that requires a humanistic pedagogical approach by integrating affective, bodily, and social dimensions.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Student Worksheets (LKPD) on the subject of perimeter and area of triangles for seventh-grade students at Raudlotul Ulum Islamic Boarding School Junior High School, with a focus on problem solving. The method used is development research with a 4-D model, which includes the stages of needs analysis, design, and development, while the dissemination stage is not carried out because the research focuses on limited trials. Research data were obtained through learning observations, interviews with teachers and students, and questionnaires on student responses to the developed LKPD. The results of the needs analysis showed that mathematics learning was still dominated by the lecture method, student involvement was relatively low, and there were no teaching materials available to facilitate systematic problem solving. In the design and development stage, the worksheets were compiled by presenting contextual problems as the starting point for learning and supplemented with structured steps for solving them. Limited trials with ten students showed that the worksheets had clear language, visual appeal, appropriate material, and were useful as supporting teaching materials. Based on these findings, the developed LKPD is declared suitable for use as an alternative teaching material to help students understand the concepts of perimeter and area of a triangle through the problem-solving process.

Abstract

This research is a quasi-experimental study aimed at determining the effectiveness of the discovery learning model in terms of the mathematical communication skills of students. The population of the study consists of all second-semester students, totaling 46 students. The sample of this study includes all second-semester students amounting to 23 students and fourth-semester students also amounting to 23 students selected through purposive sampling techniques. The design used is a pretest-posttest control group design with assessment techniques using test methods. The data collected consists of test scores related to the mathematical communication skills of students. Based on the t-test and proportion test at a significance level of 5%,It was concluded that the discovery learning model is not effective in terms of the mathematical communication skills of students. However, students who participated in discovery learning have higher mathematical communication skills compared to those who underwent conventional learning

Abstract

Mathematics learning in the digital era requires instructional strategies that enhance conceptual understanding while fostering students’ motivation and engagement. Integrating artificial intelligence into classroom practice offers a promising solution to these challenges. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of integrating an AI chatbot into the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) model based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in improving students’ mathematical conceptual understanding and learning motivation. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design was employed. The sample consisted of two eighth-grade classes at SMPN 3 Binamu, each comprising 30 students. The experimental group received NHT-based PBL integrated with an AI chatbot, whereas the control group received NHT-based PBL without chatbot support. Data were collected through a conceptual understanding test, a learning motivation questionnaire, and an observation sheet, and were analyzed using independent samples t-test, paired samples t-test, N-Gain, and Cohen’s d. The results revealed a significant difference in learning outcomes between the two groups (p < 0.05). The N-Gain and effect size were moderate, students’ motivation was high, and engagement was very good. These findings indicate that integrating an AI chatbot into NHT-based PBL effectively enhances mathematics learning quality.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran open ended berbasis etnomatematika yang terintegrasi dengan e-modul interaktif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas IX SMP pada materi Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel (SPLDV). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain Pretest-Posttest Control Group, melibatkan 60 siswa yang dipilih secara acak dari populasi 180 siswa. Kelompok eksperimen diberikan perlakuan melalui model open ended berbantuan e-modul berbasis etnomatematika, sedangkan kelompok kontrol menerima pembelajaran konvensional. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah, angket motivasi, observasi, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji-t, serta penghitungan effect size Cohen’s d. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor posttest kelas eksperimen sebesar 86,37, lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol yang memperoleh 80,60. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan t_hitung = 2,202 > t_tabel = 2,00172, sehingga terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelompok. Nilai effect size Cohen’s d = 0,57 termasuk kategori sedang, yang menunjukkan pengaruh positif model pembelajaran ini terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi ilmiah dengan membuktikan efektivitas integrasi model open ended, media digital, dan pendekatan budaya lokal dalam pembelajaran matematika berbasis indikator NCTM. Secara teoretis, penelitian ini memperkuat pendekatan konstruktivistik dan pembelajaran kontekstual, sedangkan secara praktis, hasil ini menegaskan bahwa guru matematika dapat memanfaatkan model open ended berbasis etnomatematika untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan, motivasi, kreativitas, dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Meskipun pengaruhnya sedang, penerapan jangka panjang diharapkan dapat memperkuat hasil pembelajaran dan generalisasi temuan.
