Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of safety training and safety knowledge on crew competence and its implications for occupational safety on board ships at PT. Gelora Persada Makmur. This research employs a quantitative research design using a survey method with a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study consists of all ship crew members of PT. Gelora Persada Makmur, totaling 100 respondents. A saturated sampling technique was applied, in which the entire population was used as the research sample. Data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale distributed online. The collected data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method with the assistance of SmartPLS software. The results of this study are expected to indicate that safety training and safety knowledge have a positive effect on crew competence, both directly and indirectly, and that crew competence has a positive effect on occupational safety on board. These findings are expected to serve as a basis for improving operational safety management within the company

Abstract

This study aims to examine the marketing strategy of the Lights Wonderland 2025 event through social media, organized by PT Pusat Rekreasi dan Promosi Pembangunan (PRPP) Central Java. The background of this research is based on the increasing competition within the MICE industry and the shift in consumer behavior toward digital platforms. This study employs a qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies conducted during a four-month internship period, from June 26 to October 27, 2025. The findings indicate that the implemented marketing strategy refers to the marketing mix (4Ps), consisting of product, price, place, and promotion, with a primary emphasis on digital promotion through social media. Social media plays a significant role in building brand awareness through visual branding and storytelling, as well as enhancing engagement through user-generated content campaigns. The effectiveness of the promotional strategy is reflected in the increased number of visitors, high levels of digital interaction, and the establishment of a positive corporate image. In conclusion, an integrated digital marketing strategy is capable of improving event promotion effectiveness and strengthening the company’s position within the MICE industry.

Abstract

Project schedule delays and the high risk of workplace accidents remain major issues in construction project management, particularly those related to ineffective supply management and insufficient expert workforce skills. This study aims to analyze the effect of supply management and expert workforce skills on workplace accident prevention, with schedule delays as a mediating variable at PT Daidan Group. The research design employs a quantitative descriptive approach using a survey method. The population consists of technical workers and experts, with a sample of 157 respondents selected using purposive sampling based on the Slovin formula. Data were collected through structured questionnaires using a Likert scale. The data analysis technique applied is Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that supply management and expert workforce skills have a positive and significant effect on schedule delays and workplace accident prevention. Schedule delays are also found to have a significant effect on workplace accident prevention and act as a mediating variable between independent and dependent variables. Inventory management and job knowledge dimensions are identified as dominant factors in improving operational effectiveness and workplace safety. These findings suggest that effective supply chain management and enhanced workforce competencies can significantly reduce delays and improve safety performance. The discussion highlights the importance of integrating supply management, human resource development, and project time control in creating a safe and efficient work environment. Therefore, companies are recommended to strengthen inventory control systems, enhance workforce training programs, and optimize project time management to support operational performance and sustainable safety culture

Abstract

This study aims to develop a conceptual model explaining how academic engagement contributes to the development of dynamic capabilities in higher education institutions in Asia through internal capability mechanisms. The research adopts a literature review design using a semi-systematic approach to integrate diverse theoretical perspectives. The data consist of peer-reviewed academic articles analyzed through thematic synthesis to identify patterns and relationships among variables. The findings indicate that academic engagement contributes indirectly to dynamic capabilities through three key mediating capabilities, namely knowledge creation, innovation capability, and research collaboration. These capabilities operate as an integrated system that enhances institutional adaptability and competitiveness. However, the existing literature remains fragmented and tends to examine these capabilities in isolation, limiting a comprehensive understanding of their interrelationships. This study provides conceptual implications for developing an integrated capability-based model and recommends further empirical testing by incorporating digital transformation and institutional context variability

Abstract

This study is motivated by key issues, including the suboptimal performance of Ship-to-Ship (STS) operations, as indicated by declining equipment readiness, inconsistent implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs), and the persistence of accident risks due to technical failures and human error. In addition, gaps in worker competency and the limited availability of backup equipment pose challenges that may disrupt operational efficiency. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the influence of equipment condition and worker competence on accident risk prevention and their implications for STS performance. This research adopts a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design. The population consists of 265 respondents, including operational port workers and ship crews, using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires and field observations. The data analysis technique employed Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) using SmartPLS software to examine both direct and indirect relationships among variables. The results indicate that equipment condition and worker competence have a positive and significant effect on accident risk prevention and STS performance. Accident risk prevention also serves as a significant mediating variable between independent variables and operational performance. Worker competence is identified as the most dominant factor in improving STS performance. Based on these findings, it is recommended that companies enhance equipment maintenance and availability, strengthen training and certification programs for workers, and implement an integrated risk-based safety management system to improve safety and operational performance of STS activities sustainably

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of business risk, financial distress, and investment policy on firm value at PT Astra International Tbk during the period 2015-2024. Firm value in this study is measured using Price to Book Value (PBV), while business risk is measured by the Degree of Operating Leverage (DOL), financial distress by the Altman Z-Score,and investment policy by total asset growth (Asset Growth). The research employs an explanatory research design with a quantitative approach. Data analysis is conducted using descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, and multiple regression analysis with the assistance of SPSS software. The results indicate that partially, only financial distress has a significant effect on firm value, whereas business risk and investment policy do not have a significant effect on firm value. However, simultaneously, business risk, financial distress, and investment policy have a significant effect on firm value. The coefficient of determination (adjusted R2) is 69.8%, indicating that these variables are able to explain 69.8% of the variation in firm value, while the remaining 30.2% is influenced by other factors outside the research model
