Abstract

Potential using of single cell proteins in life increasingly has great potential. Spirulina sp. as a microalgae which contains high levels of nutrients such as protein, fat and minerals has become superior for cultivation. Many benefits in various fields, including fisheries, health, cosmetics and industry, have resulted in a lot of research being carried out to increase cultivation production. Various research sources have been summarized to find out how various media treatments influence the growth and density of spirulina. Through various cultivation media treatments and also the addition of various fertilizers as nutrients, variations in spirulina growth density are produced. In general, Spirulina sp. prefers media with normal pH that tends to be alkaline, namely 7-10. As for the salinity range, they are able to grow in high salinity range of 15-30 ppt. Application of organic and inorganic fertilizers can produce higher density. On a semi-mass media scale of 100 liters, the addition of a combination of ±100 g of inorganic fertilizer showed growth that continued to increase even until the 15th day. The use of organic fertilizer, especially from bird droppings, shows the highest density compared to chicken, cow and buffalo manure. Using organic fertilizer can be more recommended alternative, because it uses natural or organic ingredients that come from nature.

Abstract

Elak-elak Beach are a coastal area that is used for tourism and fishing activities in the form of traditional fishing systems. The potential is quite good for cultivation activities, making this area considered quite suitable for developing KJA activities. The aim of this research is to analyze water quality to see the suitability of the area to support marine cage-based fish cultivation development activities. The method used is descriptive with a purposive sampling system, to describe current conditions. The results of water quality measurements show that the temperature range is 30-32 °C, pH 7.6-7.8 and salinity 30 ppt, where these figures indicate a normal range. For DO, the results show >5 mg/l, which means it is suitable for the needs of aquatic biota, especially cultivated biota. Meanwhile, the nutrient content measured through phosphate and nitrate levels also showed quite high results, namely 0.025 – 0.03 mg/l for phosphate and 0.01 – 0.05 mg/l for nitrate. This range of values indicates eutrophic waters, so that overall the Elak-elak Beach water area is good enough for the development of marine cage-based cultivation.

Abstract

Gill net is a fishing device made of 4 rectangular nets equipped with a weight on the lower line and a buoy on the upper line. When operated, several sheets of nets are combined into one and positioned to block the current to block the direction of the fish's swimming movement. The purpose of this study is to determine the composition and diversity of gill net catches operated in Tanjung Luar waters, to find out the specifications of gill net fishing gear operated in Tanjung Luar waters, and to find out how to operate gill net fishing gear operated in Tanjung Luar waters. Analysis of gill net catch composition data by comparing the number of primary and secondary catches using equations (Salim and Kelen, 2017; Nofrizal et al., 2018; Mauliddin et al., 2022) and analysis of the diversity of gill net catches using the diversity index formula H′ = Pi ln Pi. The percentage of the composition of the gill net catch is the main catch (HTU) of 96.56% with a total weight of 350.4 kg consisting of selar bentong, mackerel, gray flying fish, and lemuru. Meanwhile, the bycatch (HTS) was 3.44% with a total weight of 12.5 kg consisting of petami fish and squid. The diversity index value is 1,377, which indicates that the level of diversity is moderate by the criteria of 1 < H' < 3.

Abstract

Tilapia, also known as Oreochromis niloticus, is an important commodity in Indonesia that contributes to national food security, economic sustainability and community welfare. The aim of this research is to determine techniques for rearing tilapia cultivation using an aquaponic system. The aquaponics system uses water from fish farming ponds which is channeled through pipes for cultivating plants. This research uses an observation and active participation methodology, namely going directly to the field during tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) rearing activities using an aquaponic system at OPO Q Farm Cacaban, Magelang City. The research results show that the aquaponics system is an effective method for cultivating tilapia. The process includes preparing the tilapia cultivation container, lettuce plant container, sowing the lettuce plants, stocking the fish, filling the lettuce seeds into the netpot container, providing food, and checking the water quality. The aquaponics system produced a high FCR of 1.06 tilapia, a survival rate of 99%, and a lettuce yield of 47.5 kg. The water quality of the aquaponic system is considered ideal, with temperatures ranging from 23-26°C, pH 6.5-7.5, DO 5.74-6.76 mg/L, and Ammonia 0 ppm. Lettuce plants effectively absorb food and fish metabolic waste, thereby ensuring that the water quality in the aquaponic tilapia cultivation medium is maintained.

Abstract

The Banda Sea is part of the Indonesian Republic's Fisheries Management Area (WPPNRI) based on the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Regulation Number 1 of 2009 regarding the fisheries management area of the Republic of Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to analyze catch per unit effort (CPUE), and the results of sustainable catch potential (MSY) of bigeye tuna landed at the Kendari Oceanic Fishery Port (PPS). The data collected is derived from PPS Kendari over the past seven years (2016-2022). The research findings indicated that the catch effort value of bigeye tuna fluctuated from 2016 to 2022. There was an increase in 2017 with a value of 133 kg/trip, while in 2021, there was a decrease with a value of 32 kg/trip. The sustainable potential of bigeye tuna landed at PPS Kendari was assessed using the Fox model. The Fox model determined the optimum effort value (EMSY) to be 431 trips and the maximum catch value (CMSY) to be 42.174 kg/year. The stock status of bigeye tuna in the Banda Sea indicates overfishing.
