Abstract

Soil is the result of the transformation of minerals and organic matter from the surface to a certain depth. This process is influenced by various genetic and environmental factors, such as the properties of the parent material, climatic conditions, interactions with living organisms, topography, and changes that occur over a long period of time. This study aims to analyze the chemical properties of three different soil types—red soil, humus soil, and limestone soil—to understand their implications for soil management and agricultural productivity. The analysis was conducted at the Soil and Water Laboratory of UPT Agribusiness Development Malang from December 2023 to April 2024. The parameters tested included pH, P₂O₅ content, nitrogen, and K₂O. The results showed that limestone soil had the highest pH, phosphorus, and potassium values compared to red and humus soils, while all three types of soil had very low nitrogen content. This study highlights the importance of proper soil management to improve soil fertility and agricultural productivity.

Abstract

UD. Hasta Jaya is a company engaged in supplier general trading, supplying various types of consumable goods including cloth and plastic rubber elbows. The company's lack of attention to inventory control flow is a major problem so that it can result in losses that will be experienced by the Company financially and operationally. To calculate the efficiency of inventory management, namely by knowing the components, the optimal order quantity in one order, and knowing the total inventory cost in reducing costs using 2 Min-Max and EOQ inventory control methods. The results of the calculation with the EOQ method were ordered 7 times, the order quantity was 949 Kg and 842 Kg at a cost of Rp 930,141 and Rp 929,704. As for the Min-Max method, namely 26 orders, with quantities of 241 Kg and 122 Kg and costs of Rp 1,948,873 and Rp 3,270,342.

Abstract

A crucial part of a company's logistics system is the warehouse. Warehouse operations are critical and must be given attention. An ideal warehouse layout can improve the orderliness of product storage. PT. XYZ, a fertilizer manufacturing company, faced a challenge in retrieving products from storage. This research aims to propose a more efficient warehouse layout through ABC analysis to categorize products into 3 classes and the Class Based Storage method to divide storage areas and material placement. Based on the calculations, Class A consists of 4 product categories, Class B of 3, and Class C of 1. With the Class Based Storage method, the distance in the existing layout was 688.552 meters, while in the proposed layout, it decreased to 517.896 meters, resulting in a total distance reduction of 170.656 meters.

Abstract

Concrete is a primary construction material, with aggregate as its main component. However, to meet the demands for more environmentally friendly and economical construction, alternative materials such as palm shell chunks (BCS), pozzolan sand, fly ash, and iron ore are needed. This study aims to evaluate the performance of concrete using variations of these aggregates and additional materials. The method employed includes testing the physical and mechanical properties, such as specific gravity, absorption, abrasion, and split tensile strength at 28 and 56 days. The results indicate that Split and BCS aggregates meet the abrasion standard of < 50%, with Split showing greater durability. The hybrid concrete (BMT-FBPP) using fly ash and pozzolan sand experienced a split tensile strength increase of 19.85% at 28 days and 24.57% at 56 days compared to normal concrete. It can be concluded that these alternative materials can enhance concrete performance, making them suitable for sustainable construction.

Abstract

The Industry 4.0 era has driven rapid growth in Indonesia's automotive industry, with increasing environmental awareness fueling demand for eco-friendly vehicles, such as electric cars. In 2023, electric car sales surged by 65%, reaching 17.06 thousand units. However, widespread adoption remains hindered by high costs and limited charging infrastructure. This study aims to analyze Indonesian public sentiment toward electric cars using the Naïve Bayes algorithm. The analysis shows that positive sentiment is dominant, reflecting broad support for this innovation, despite concerns over cost and infrastructure. The Naïve Bayes model achieved an accuracy of 80%, with a precision of 84%, recall of 90%, and an F1-score of 87%. These findings can help the industry devise more effective marketing and educational strategies to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles in Indonesia.

Abstract

Climate change and the increasing frequency of natural disasters highlight the importance of rapid and efficient temporary housing solutions, such as Temporary Modular Shelters. Planning for Temporary Modular Shelters is a complex process that requires consideration of various aspects, including functionality, location, materials, health, safety, transportation, regulations, environmental sustainability, and socio-cultural factors. This study employs the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology to evaluate previous research on Temporary Modular Shelter planning, with primary data sources from Scopus, Sinta, and Garuda. Primary data was gathered from surveys, observations, and literature reviews, while secondary data was used as supplementary material. The data selection process focused on studies relevant to the 2018-2024 timeframe. The analysis identifies key factors, common methodologies, and sustainability principles in modular shelter planning. The findings emphasize that sustainability, resource efficiency, and the use of eco-friendly materials are crucial. Additionally, community involvement and the integration of technology play important roles in enhancing the effectiveness and sustainability of shelters.

Abstract

The increasing need for mobile device charging, especially in outdoor and remote areas, presents challenges due to limited access to power sources. This issue is particularly relevant for individuals who travel frequently, such as motorcycle taxi drivers. To address this issue, a foldable solar panel-based portable power bank has been developed, which is designed to efficiently convert solar energy into electrical power to charge smartphones. Laboratory-scale tests show that the device can charge a smartphone from 20% to 100% within four hours under peak sunlight conditions, and from 20% to 75% under lower sunlight. To further improve its usability, future development should increase the energy storage capacity, improve efficiency under different sunlight conditions, add weather resistance, and expand compatibility with other devices, making it more suitable for outdoor and travel applications.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is the most complete fertilizer producer in Indonesia, where every production process requires quality control and product quality assurance. In this case, a laboratory is needed to analyze the quality of the products produced. One of the supporting materials in product quality analysis, namely liquid chemicals, is Karl Fisher Solvent. This research was conducted to calculate and analyze the comparison of order quantity, order frequency, safety stock, reorder point, and total inventory costs using 2 inventory control methods EOQ and POQ, so that it can be seen which method is the most optimal. , EOQ, POQ, or company. The analysis results show that the most optimal method for inventory control, namely the EOQ method, can save inventory costs by 22% with an order quantity of 39 liters, order frequency 4 times, total inventory costs of Rp. 284,771, safety stock 4 liters and reorder point 10 liters.

Abstract

Bioadditives are materials to improve the quality of fuel derived from plants. One that has the potential to be used as a bioadditive is citronella oil. Citronella oil can be obtained by several methods, one of which is using the water and steam distillation method. This distillation process is carried out with 1 kg of citronella, 3 liters of water, 100 °C operating temperature, and 2 hours of distillation time. Based on the GC-MS test, citronella oil contains 19.35% geraniol, 1.24% citronellal, and 1.72% citronellol. The mixing ratio is 2:1000; 4:1000; 6:1000; 8:1000; 10:1000 ml, and the stirring time is 1; 2; 3; 4; 5 minutes. This study aims to increase the octane number, calorific value, density, and viscosity of pertalite fuel. The best test results were obtained at 10:1000 ml and 5 minutes, with a calorific value increase of 7.35% and an octane number increase of 2.97%.
