Abstract

Multicollinearity is a problem that must be addressed when using regression. Multicollinearity often occurs in socioeconomic data, such as Per Capita Expenditure. Several relevant studies have shown that Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) regression is a good method for handling multicollinearity. Additionally, it produces the simple model. Meanwhile, the Least Angle Regression (LAR) algorithm works effectively in model optimization, especially when multicollinearity occurs in multiple variables. Therefore, this study aims to handle multicollinearity with LAR LASSO regression in the specific case of per capita expenditure data in Wonosobo with many variables experiencing multicollinearity. The result study is LAR LASSO regression successfully eliminated two of the four predictor variables that exhibited multicollinearity by reducing the regression coefficients on the two predictor variables to zero. The best regression model obtained produces two significant coefficients so that Per Capita Expenditure in Wonosobo was influenced by the Human Development Index and Average Years of Schooling.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the problem-solving abilities of tenth-grade students at SMAN 1 Lalolae on the topic of exponents after the implementation of problem-based learning (PBL) with reference to Polya’s problem-solving stages. The background of this research is based on the limited number of studies that specifically examine students’ problem-solving skills in exponents through the application of PBL with a Polya-based approach. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with ten students from SMAN 1 Lalolae selected using purposive sampling, representing high, medium, and low ability categories. Data were collected through problem-solving tasks on exponents and semi-structured interviews, then analyzed using Polya’s indicators, which include understanding the problem, devising a plan, carrying out the plan, and reviewing the solution. The findings indicate that high-ability students were able to solve problems systematically from understanding the problem to obtaining the correct solution, although the evaluation stage was not yet optimal. Medium-ability students were able to write down information and formulas but often struggled in selecting appropriate strategies, resulting in partially incorrect answers. Meanwhile, low-ability students encountered difficulties from the initial stage, demonstrated unclear strategies, and produced incorrect solutions.  The findings suggest the need to develop scaffolding strategies to support students with moderate and low levels of ability. The application of PBL was proven to enhance students’ engagement and problem-solving abilities, although evaluation and reflection aspects still need improvement.

Abstract

Economic growth serves as a key factor in analyzing the economic conditions of a country or region. The secondary panel data used in this study consists of a combination of cross-sectional data from five regencies/cities in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) that were most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This time-series data spans from 2018 to 2023 and is split into three phases: the period before the pandemic, the pandemic period, and the post-pandemic period.This study aims to analyze the factors influencing economic growth in NTT Province during the pre-, during-, and the period after the pandemic. The research employs the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) with Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) as the dependent variable. The independent variables include the Regional Minimum Wage (UMR), Per Capita Expenditure, Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK), and Domestic Investment (PMDN). The research findings indicate that the variables that significantly influence economic growth in NTT Province are the Regional Minimum Wage and Per Capita Expenditure. The Regional Minimum Wage has a negative impact on economic growth, whereas Per Capita Expenditure has a positive impact. This means that an increase in the Regional Minimum Wage will decrease economic growth, while an increase in Per Capita Expenditure will enhance economic growth.

Abstract

Dalam aljabar max-plus, matriks normal didefinisikan sebagai matriks persegi  dimana elemen pada diagonal utamanya adalah nol dan elemen non diagonal utamanya adalah bilangan real non positif. Struktur ini memberikan sifat keteraturan khusus terhadap operasi maksimum dan penjumlahan pada aljabar maxplus. Pada artikel ini akan di bahas review tentang matriks  normal dan perilaku stabil terhadap perpangkatan, termasuk kondisi tertentu yang menjamin sifat idempoten. Selain itu, diperoleh kriteria struktural yang memastikan kekomutatifan dua matriks normal terhadap perkalian max-plus.

Abstract

This study analyzes the integration of Computational Thinking (CT) in formal mathematics education across school levels from 2020 to 2025 using the Systematic Literature Review method with the PRISMA protocol. Through strict selection on the Scopus database limited to final journal articles, written in English, full text access, and focused on core mathematics learning, 10 eligible articles were found. This limited number shows that empirical research with global reputation in this field is still rare. The critical analysis reveals that the impact patterns in the field are conditional and do not merely show a general positive impact. The success of CT integration is directly related to students' basic mathematics skills. Weak initial competence actually triggers thinking difficulties and conceptual misunderstandings due to different meanings between programming language rules and conventional algebra symbols. This study offers novelty by mapping a clear shift in CT integration, which is no longer just a separate basic visual programming tool, but has merged into specific mathematics topics and modern technology ecosystems such as Scratch, GeoGebra, and AI. The study concludes by emphasizing the need for adaptive learning materials, specific CT assessment tools, continuous teacher training, and wider empirical research in various educational contexts. Abstract

ABSTRACT COVID-19 is a rapidly spreading disease driven by high human mobility, intense social interactions, and the emergence of new variants that enable reinfection. Classical SIR models generally assume permanent immunity, utilize a linear transmission rate, and do not account for individual immigration, making them inadequate for representing waning immunity, changes in community behavior, and more complex disease transmission dynamics. Therefore, this study extends the SIR model with a nonlinear incidence rate into an SIRS model with a nonlinear incidence rate, incorporating an infected immigration factor. The mathematical analysis includes determining the disease-free and endemic equilibrium points, calculating the basic reproduction number using the Direct Method, and conducting stability analysis through the Jacobian matrix and the Routh–Hurwitz criterion. The analysis yields the disease-free equilibrium point , the basic reproduction number and the endemic equilibrium point . Stability analysis shows that when , the disease-free equilibrium is locally asymptotically stable, indicating that the disease will not spread widely and will eventually disappear from the population. Conversely, when , the endemic equilibrium is locally asymptotically stable, implying that the infection will persist and continue to spread within the population, eventually becoming endemic.
