Abstract

Humans are religious creatures and certainly cannot be separated from religious problems. In this study, the author divides people into two categories, namely someone who is taking religious education as a candidate for a religious leader and someone who does not get an education to become a candidate for a religious leader. This research was conducted online with questionnaires distributed via Google Form to the 12th grade students of Senior High School. The correlation test uses Pearson correlation technique with the help of IBM SPSS program for Windows version 20. The result generated from this research shows that the correlation coefficient (r) = -0.300 with the value of sig 0.000 (p<0.05). This means that there is a negative relationship between anxiety and parental social support for the 12th grade students of Senior High School. Abstract

History lecturers who approach their work positively are more likely to be more engaged in their work than those who do not. Nigerian history lecturers have not been examined in terms of how psychological interventions can improve their work engagement. The present research examined the research dataset of an online rational emotive behavior therapy (online REBT) on work engagement among Nigerian history lecturers at higher education institutions. The sample consisted of 31 history lecturers, 16 of whom were randomly assigned to the online REBT group and 15 to a waiting-list control group. A repeated measures ANOVA was conducted at a level of 0.05 probability using IBM Statistical Package for Social Sciences software. Comparing the two groups, the dataset shows that history lecturers in the online intervention group exhibited significantly higher work engagement scores than those in the waiting list control group (p=.000). The one-month follow up dataset reveal that history lecturers who participated in the online REBT intervention continued to feel engaged at work compared to those in the waiting list control group (p=.000). Thus, a significant improvement in work engagement scores of history lecturers was associated with the online REBT intervention. Future studies with a larger sample size are needed.

Abstract

Self harm or Deliberate Self-Harm (DSH) is carried out with the intention of intentionally injuring a member of the body without any suicidal intent. Previous research has stated that adolescent girls are the most vulnerable group to DSH. DSH behavior in adolescence that is repeated with increasing intensity increases the risk of suicide in adulthood. This research was conducted to find out how the first experience of DSH behavior was carried out by female adolescents and how self-harm was used. A qualitative approach with the type of generic qualitative study is carried out to answer these questions. Participants were selected by snowball sampling technique with the characteristics of female adolescents aged 12-23 years and had DSH in the last three months. Data were collected and processed using thematic analysis. The results show that the teenage girls in this study have been doing self-harm for more than five years and it begins by looking at social media which shows that self-harm can be a solution to the problems they face. The methods of self-harm and the depth of injury that arise due to DSH behavior are increasingly varied and increase the risk for the perpetrator. DSH behavior is important to pay attention to considering the risks and dangers it poses and has the potential to increase the possibility of suicide.
