Abstract

This study aims to compare with the analysis of the thoughts of Ibn Qutaiba and Ibn Sallam Al-Jumahi in Literary Criticism. The research methodology involves a qualitative analysis of the writings of Ibn Qutaibah and Ibn Sallam Al-Jumahi. The historical and cultural context in which these two scholars were writing is also considered in order to better understand their views on poetry criticism and how they reflect broader trends in Arabic literature. The data obtained are from books by the two critics, Al-Shi'r wa Al-Shu'ara and Tabaqat Fuhul As-Shu'ara. By comparing the two thoughts, the results of this study reveal that both Ibn Qutaibah and Ibn Sallam Al-Jumahi had similar criteria for evaluating poetry but differed in their emphasis on certain aspects of poetic form and content. Ibn Qutaibah concludes his assessment of the identity of poetry because his criticisms by looking at the suitability of its 'Arudh and Qafiyah. Meanwhile, Al-Jumahi criticizes the legitimacy of poems by revealing the identity of the poem its poet to see the originality or from which tribe (region) the poem originates.

Abstract

This study aims to elaborate on the findings of the utterances of the bilabial letters B and Syafatain huruf Ba spoken by Indonesians as non-Arabic speakers in the context of differences in pronunciation between Arabic and Indonesian letters. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach using participant speakers. Three Indonesian participants recited Surah Al-Fatihah in the mosque environment. Data collection techniques are listening techniques using audio, observation, and interviews. Data analysis used is data reduction with raw data in the form of audio recordings and using a Praat Analysis Computer. This study obtained data on the characteristics and factors that influence the speech articulation of letters B and Ba spoken by Indonesians as non-Arabic speakers. Furthermore, this research has practical implications for the treasures of Arabic-Indonesian phonetic knowledge, also empirically as material for field-based learning studies.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the differences in curriculum between two countries, namely Indonesia and Malaysia, in their implementation, especially in learning Arabic. In this case, the Arabic curriculum in Indonesia used the 2013 curriculum regulations or known as K13 (Kurikulum 2013), while Malaysia uses KSSR (Kurikulum Standart Sekolah Rendah) and KSSM (Kurikulum Standart Sekolah Menengah) regulations in its implementation. The curriculum is a series of plans to streamline teaching and learning. The Arabic curriculum is a set of Arabic learning plans, objectives, and materials systematically compiled to carry out the learning process properly. This research used a qualitative approach. The research method used is library research. The data used as a source for writing are archives obtained from the ministries of Indonesia and Malaysia. Data collection techniques are obtained from documentation by selecting, searching and analyzing data from the literature or sources related to the problem under study. Based on the study's results, it is known that the presentation of material in the K13 and KSSR/KSSM curricula has differences. In its production, K13 emphasizes more on memorizing Arabic vocabulary and grammatical and morphological abilities. In contrast, the KSSR / KSSM curriculum emphasizes four primary skills: listening, reading, speaking, and writing. This is, of course based on the objectives of each curriculum.

Abstract

The translation is one of the most essential subjects for foreign speakers. Although there are translation aids for various occasions, translation competence is still a haven for learners. The objectives are to examine Project-Based Learning (Pjbl) for undergraduate students; examine the study planning for the Tarjamah Fauriyyah (TF) material; and the implementation of Pop-Up in TF. This study is qualitative research with an explanatory field study and a cross-sectional survey design. The sample is fifth-year university students in the 2024/2025 academic year, with 14 people. The sampling method was purposive sampling. Data collection, including interviews, observation, and documentation, is analysed using the data reduction model, and conclusions are presented and made. The research findings illustrate that Project-Based-Learning is an active form of student-centred teaching and is implemented on three active learning methods, namely Discovery-Learning, Project-Based-Learning, and Jigsaw, which represent the spirit of the independent curriculum and contribute to the vision of the University. The implication of this research is the implementation of active learning at the university student level by applying the three domains of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor through Pop-Up, which is carried out in groups by students focusing on direct translation learning.

Abstract

This study designs Arabic reading materials that integrate Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) with principles of religious moderation to address the cognitive and moral demands of 21st-century education. An integrative pedagogical model employing Kahoot! was implemented to enhance learners’ critical literacy, analytical reasoning, and intercultural awareness. Adopting a descriptive qualitative approach, data were obtained from 15 students through diagnostic assessments and perception surveys. Results revealed promising outcomes, with mean performance scores of 78.6 (range 73–83). Most participants (93.1%) rated the materials as “Highly Suitable” or “Suitable” for developing analytical and evaluative reading skills, while 91.4% agreed they effectively promoted tolerance and inclusivity. Additionally, 62.2% reported heightened motivation and engagement through the gamified environment. The integration of HOTS-oriented questions, multimedia resources, and value-laden texts strengthened both cognitive and affective learning dimensions. However, further enhancement is needed by incorporating synthesis and argumentation tasks and embedding moderation themes in more contextualized narratives. Future development should emphasize adaptive learning, cross-disciplinary integration, and formative feedback to foster autonomy and holistic growth in Arabic language education.
