Abstract

Translation learning must be able to develop students' translation competence. One alternative model that can be developed is a translation learning model with an eco-translatology perspective which further optimizes the ecological environment of translation and student autonomy as learners. This study aims to determine student needs for developing translation learning models, especially Arabic-Indonesian translation, using an eco-translatology perspective. The method applied is a survey method with the instrument used is a questionnaire. The respondents involved were 65 students of the Arabic Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Languages and Arts, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, randomly. The study results prove that, generally, students still find it challenging to learn the translation. On the other hand, the learning model currently applied has not been able to fulfil their competence in translation. The implication is that the eco-translatology learning model that is more student-centered can be an alternative for learning Arabic-Indonesian translation.

The objectives of this study are divided into two things: a) to increase the learning activeness and b) to improve the learning outcomes of class 1A students using the index card match learning strategy in Arabic lessons at the KH. Syamsuddin durisawo ponorogo Islamic boarding school. This type of research is called "Classroom Action Research." This method has a significant influence on student activity. It improves student learning outcomes in Arabic lessons, and the number of students in class 1A is 28. This research aims to apply the index card match learning strategy to increase students' activeness and learning outcomes in Arabic subjects. Researchers used testing, observation, and documentation methods to obtain the necessary data. The research results are as follows: 1. The application of the index card match has achieved learning activeness in about 46% of 28 students, and the second stage of student activeness reaches 70% of 28 students. 2. The index card match strategy has achieved the learning outcomes. The student's score reaches 57%, and in the second stage, the student's score reaches 100% of the 28 students.

Abstract

The study of language acquisition is still fascinating to study. A theory explains that language is Tauqify. The debate between the idea that explains that language ability is tabula rasa and language ability is a gift is a theory in language learning. This study aims to that there is brain lateralization based on theoretical data. Furthermore, there are strategies to improve metalinguistic ability in Arabic language acquisition. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with descriptive analysis. Researchers found five hypotheses about brain lateralization in second language acquisition in this study. First, the balanced bilingualism hypothesis. Second, the second language hypothesis. Third, the second language acquisition rate hypothesis. Fourth, the second language acquisition method hypothesis. Fifth, age hypothesis in second language acquisition. And there is more strategy to develop metalinguistic ability in Arabic language acquisition.

Abstract

Reading ability is a person's ability to understand written content and then manifest it by reciting it orally. The ability to read is the basis for developing one's language skills because Arabic is always related to Arabic texts. The problem found by researchers at Madrasah Diniyah Almunawarotul Banat is the need for students' ability to read and understand the contents of Arabic texts. This study aims to improve the reading skill (maharah qiraah) of fifth-grade students at Madrasah Diniyah Almunawarotul Banat in learning Arabic using the Strip Story method. This research is a classroom action research (CAR) that focuses on action research, which consists of two cycles, with the subject being fifth-grade students at Madrasah Diniyah Almunawarotul Banat, a total of 20 people. The results of this study indicate that the method of story strips can improve students' ability to read Arabic texts. In the first cycle, only a small number of students could read Arabic sentences, with an average of 66.5%. In the second cycle, almost 80% of students could read Arabic texts; judging from the average obtained, it was 75.45%.

Abstract

In extracurricular language activities, memorising foreign vocabulary is often only required. This seems monotonous and makes the participants bored with learning. This study aims to explore vocabulary learning activities using the Charades game and participants' responses related to it. This type of research is a descriptive qualitative method with observation and documentation as an instrument for collecting data. Data analysis techniques with the Miles and Huberman model; data reduction, data display, and conclusions. This research shows that this game contributes theoretically and practically to the research. In theory, picture guessing is an attractive, easy, and straightforward game with positive results in vocabulary learning activities. In practice, there are five steps to the game; 1) dividing participants into two teams, 2) writing vocabulary, 3) flipping coins, 4) demonstrating vocabulary, and 5) adding up all points. Positive responses were obtained from the questionnaire given to 20 participants in the form of vocabulary learning with the Charades game was more interesting, more accessible, and more transparent and could increase motivation to learn vocabulary. Researchers hope the Charades game could further use better learning media and tutors can condition participants in larger groups.

Based on time, Al-Ghulayaini (2007) divides fill muta'addi into mādhī, mudhāri, and amr. There were 343 using translation techniques from 11 translation techniques. In this study, 214 data were translated accurately, acceptably, and with high readability. The final assessment score of translation quality is 2.84 and is categorized as high-quality translation. So, the researcher concludes that readers will be able to easily understand the text of the life journey of the Prophet Muhammad.
