Abstract

This study aims to analyze strategies for building competitive advantage in Islamic schools in the disruptive era characterized by rapid digital technological development and changing societal demands. The main problems faced include the limited ability of institutions to differentiate educational services, implement innovation, and integrate Islamic values into modern management practices. This study employs a quantitative approach with an explanatory design through a survey involving 150 respondents, consisting of principals, teachers, and educational staff. The research instrument was developed based on the resource-based view and educational innovation theories. Data analysis was conducted using SEM-PLS to examine the relationships among variables. The results indicate that educational innovation, strategic leadership, and the integration of Islamic values have a significant effect on competitive advantage. These findings highlight that Islamic educational institutions capable of managing unique resources based on values and technology tend to achieve higher competitiveness. This study contributes theoretically by developing a competitive advantage model grounded in Islamic values and provides practical implications for educational managers in responding to disruptive changes.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the transformation of school principal leadership in developing students’ literacy culture at SMP Negeri 1 Siantan. The main issue addressed in this research is the relatively low level of students’ literacy, which remains a significant challenge in improving educational quality. School leadership plays a strategic role in integrating literacy programs systematically and sustainably within the school environment. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The participants consisted of a principal, teachers, and students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, and were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings indicate that the transformation of school principal leadership is reflected in the strengthening of literacy-oriented vision, the development of innovative literacy programs, the enhancement of collaboration among teachers and stakeholders, and the creation of a conducive literacy environment. Transformational leadership was found to significantly improve students’ engagement in literacy activities. However, several challenges remain, including limited resources and initially low reading interest among students. This study concludes that school principal leadership plays a crucial role in fostering a sustainable literacy culture in schools.

Abstract

Graduate quality is a key indicator of educational success, especially at the primary level where academic, character, and social development are formed. This study aims to analyze the role of teachers’ pedagogical competence and school culture in shaping graduate quality at SDN 006 Batu Belah. A qualitative case study approach was used to gain an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon. The participants included one principal, six teachers, and ten students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using interactive techniques involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that teachers’ pedagogical competence significantly enhances student engagement and learning outcomes through effective planning, implementation, and evaluation. School culture, reflected in discipline, character values, and daily habits, also contributes to a conducive learning environment. However, collaboration within the school culture still needs improvement. The study further reveals that the synergy between pedagogical competence and school culture has a stronger impact on graduate quality than either factor alone. Therefore, improving graduate quality requires an integrated approach that strengthens both aspects simultaneously.

Abstract

This inquiry is directed toward evaluating the magnitude of influenceexerted by three key predictors Principal Leadership, InnovativeOrganizational Culture, and Work Motivation upon Teacher Performance atSDN 012 Balikpapan Timur and SDIT Darun Najah. Adopting a quantitative approach, this research utilized a census technique, wherein theentire population of 46 teachers served as a saturated sample. Data acquisition relied on Likert-scale questionnaires, while hypothesisverification was conducted utilizing Multiple Linear Regression analysis. Despite initial normality assessments indicating a non-normal distribution (p < 0.001), the analytical process proceeded as the model successfullysatisfied alternative classical assumption prerequisites, specifically validity, reliability, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity. The empirical findingsconfirm that, when examined partially, none of the three independentvariables exert a substantial impact on teacher performance; this iscorroborated by probability values exceeding the 0.05 threshold for eachvariable (X1=0.214; X2=0.149; X3=0.364). Furthermore, the coefficient ofdetermination reveals that only 29.8% of the variability in TeacherPerformance is attributable to the combination of these independentvariables. Consequently, the remaining majority proportion (70.2%) stemsfrom external determinants falling outside the scope of this analyticalframework. It is concluded that within the elementary school context of thisregion, these specific factors do not constitute the primary drivers forenhancing teacher performance.

Abstract

Drug abuse has serious impacts on both physical and mental health, particularly among individuals in early adulthood. The rehabilitation process is often accompanied by psychological pressure arising from experiences of detention, family conflicts, and social stigma. This study aims to examine the role of resilience in addressing mental health among drug addicts at the National Narcotics Agency of North Sumatra Province. This research employed a qualitative method using observation and in-depth interviews. The subjects consisted of three male early-adult drug users selected through purposive sampling, with criteria of individuals aged 18–40 years who were undergoing outpatient rehabilitation at the National Narcotics Agency of North Sumatra Province. The resilience theory used in this study refers to Reivich and Shatté (as cited in Hardiana & Dewi, 2023), which explains that resilience is the ability of individuals to endure, recover, and adapt positively when facing pressure or difficult life experiences, enabling them to function effectively. This ability is reflected through seven factors: emotional regulation, impulse control, causal analysis, self-efficacy, optimism, empathy, and reaching out. The results indicate that drug use is influenced by peer environment, family pressure, and the need for social acceptance. During detention, participants experienced psychological distress such as stress, anxiety, feelings of pressure, and loneliness. Among the seven resilience factors, family support, humane rehabilitation conditions, and optimism were the most significant in fostering resilience, as participants expressed a strong desire to change, avoid disappointing their families, and improve their future.

Abstract

Indonesia’s high rapid population growth requires birth control through the Family Planning (KB) program, but contraceptive use is still mostly borne by women, while male participation, such as vasectomy, remains low due to social stigma and negative perceptions about masculinity. Therefore, the phenomenon of husbands choosing vasectomy in Bengkulu City is interesting to examine from a sociological perspective. This study aims to analyze the reasons why husbands in Bengkulu City choose vasectomy in participating in the family planning program. The study used a qualitative phenomenological approach with purposive sampling of seven informants who had undergone vasectomy, collecting data through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, which were then analyzed descriptively using Blau’s social exchange theory. The results showed that husbands chose vasectomy due to sense of responsibility toward their wives, having enough children, economic considerations, and the desire to share family planning roles, supported by adequate knowledge, partner support, and health worker information, although they still faced obstacles such as negative public perceptions and assumptions that vasectomy reduces masculinity. The implications based on the results of this study confirm that the decision to undergo a vasectomy is influenced by social, economic, and cultural factors, not solely medical considerations.

Abstract

This study investigates university students’ perceptions of technology integration and media use in English language learning using a mixed-methods approach. Quantitative data were collected from 432 students via a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistics, including Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis H tests. The findings showed a generally positive perception (M = 48.30, SD = 5.81), with no significant differences based on gender (p = .163), but a significant variance based on semester level (p = .026), indicating improved perception with higher academic exposure. Qualitative data from interviews with selected students revealed five central themes: ease of access, technical challenges, platform overload, preference for blended learning, and the influence of prior digital experience. Students favored media such as Kahoot, videos, and animations for their engaging features, although their long-term impact on learning was questioned. Participants with earlier exposure to digital tools adapted more confidently, while others initially struggled. Both statistical and thematic analyses highlight the importance of pedagogical alignment, infrastructure stability, and gradual digital familiarization. The study underscores that technology and media can enhance English learning when meaningfully integrated into instruction and supported by institutional strategies.

Abstract

Self-esteem is one of the psychological aspects that plays an important role in the development of students, especially in Vocational High Schools (SMK), which require their readiness to face the world of work. However, many students in SMK experience low levels of self-esteem, which has an impact on self-confidence, learning motivation, and the ability to adapt to social and academic environments. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Experiential Learning model in improving self-esteem of students in SMK. This study uses an experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of SMK students who were divided into an experimental group that received learning with the Experiential Learning model and a control group that used conventional learning methods. The data analysis technique was carried out using statistical tests to see the difference in self-esteem before and after the intervention. Based on the data analysis carried out, the results showed that the Experiential Learning model had a positive effect on improving self-esteem of students in SMK. This is evidenced by the average obtained that the mean pretest score of the experimental group was 8.95 and the control group was 90.70. Furthermore, the posttest results of the experimental group were 103.20 and the control group was 90.50. Based on the average pretest and posttest results, it can be concluded that the experimental group given the Experiential Learning model treatment had an increase in scores, while the control group that was not given treatment did not experience a significant increase.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of job stress, job crafting and personality on burnout of Generation Z teachers in Surabaya both partially and simultaneously. This study combines job stress, job crafting, and personality in one analytical model, especially in the context of Generation Z teachers. In addition, this study found that personality is not always the main factor in reducing Generation Z burnout, which is different from several previous studies. The research method used was quantitative research involving 166 respondents of Generation Z teachers in Surabaya. The data analysis technique used multiple regression. The results found that job stress has a positive and significant effect on burnout (t-value 10.930 > t-table 1.654), while job crafting has a negative and significant effect (t-value -3.204 > t-table 1.654). Personality has no positive and insignificant effect on burnout (t-value -0.405 < t-table 1.654). Simultaneously, these three variables contribute to burnout in Generation Z teachers (F-value 76.542 > F-table 2.696). Thus, it is necessary to design strategies that focus on managing work stress, improving job crafting, and developing work adaptation programs to reduce burnout and increase the work effectiveness of Generation Z teachers.
