Abstract

Islamic Fashion Institute (IFI) is a Course and Training Institution that focuses on Muslim fashion design. IFI utilizes Instagram advertising by creating content to attract people to become IFI’s students. However, IFI has active students with the majority from outside Bandung even though IFI itself is located in Bandung. The purpose of this study was to determine how the Islamic Fashion Institute's strategy uses Instagram advertising to market programs in its institution, to determine the factors that influence how Instagram advertising can influence students' decisions to enroll in IFI, and to determine the reasons why the majority of IFI students come from outside Bandung. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and document studies. The informants in this study were the IFI’s management team, IFI’s active students, IFI’s alumni, and parents of students and IFI’s alumni. The data validity test in this study was source triangulation from the IFI General Manager and the Bandung City Education Office. The results of this study are that the majority of active IFI students who come from outside Bandung know IFI from Instagram advertising while IFI students who come from Bandung know IFI through word-of-mouth.

Abstract

This article examines the practice of religious moderation within the pesantren tradition through ‎a descriptive-analytical literature review approach. Departing from the assumption that ‎pesantren are not only traditional Islamic educational institutions but also key centers of ‎religious discourse production and ethical formation, this study investigates how values such as ‎tolerance, non-violence, and the acceptance of diversity are transmitted and institutionalized ‎within the epistemic structure and social praxis of pesantren. The analysis focuses on three core ‎aspects: the role of the kiai’s authority in shaping religious interpretive horizons; the dynamics of ‎pedagogy that cultivate tolerance through dialogical methods and communal interaction; and the ‎dialectics between the state’s narrative of religious moderation and the pesantren’s localized ‎practices. The article argues that the success of religious moderation in pesantren largely ‎depends on the kiai’s ability to exercise epistemic authority in a reflective and inclusive manner, ‎as well as on the pesantren’s capacity to internalize tolerance through lived educational ‎experiences and interpretive traditions. Meanwhile, state-driven narratives of moderation will ‎only be effective if implemented through dialogical partnerships rather than top-down ‎bureaucratic interventions. By positioning moderation as a living and adaptive interpretive ‎culture, the article highlights the strategic potential of pesantren as agents of peaceful, context-‎sensitive, and socially relevant Islamic religiosity in plural societies.‎

Abstract

This research aims to develop a learning module based on Riau local wisdom on the material "Norms in My Life" for grade V students at SD Negeri 17 Pekanbaru, Riau Province, which is valid, practical, and effective. The school is located in an urban area with a strong local cultural diversity, but it is not yet fully reflected in the teaching materials used. The background of this research is the limited availability of relevant and contextual teaching materials, especially those that integrate the values of local wisdom, so that it has an impact on students' low understanding of the concept of norms in daily life. This research is a development research that adapts the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development) model to the development stage. The analysis stage includes the identification of teachers, students, and curriculum needs. The design stage includes designing structures, materials, and the integration of Riau's local cultural values. At the development stage, the validity test of the module was carried out by material experts, linguists, and learning design experts. Data was collected through interviews and validation questionnaires, then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of the study show that the modules developed have met the eligibility criteria with a very high level of validity after going through a revision process based on expert input. The final validation score from the subject and language experts ranges from 92.5% to 95%, which indicates that the module is "very worth using without revision". Thus, this module is expected to be an innovative solution in increasing students' understanding of norms while fostering appreciation for the values of Riau's local wisdom.

Abstract

Natural resource conflicts in Indigenous territories represent complex governance challenges shaped by overlapping land claims, development pressures, and socio-cultural dynamics. In Indonesia, the limited formal recognition of customary territories and the persistence of agrarian conflicts indicate structural weaknesses in preventive conflict governance. This study examines the institutional capacity of the Regional Early Warning Team (Tim Kewaspadaan Dini Daerah/TKDD) in Bandung Regency in managing potential natural resource conflicts within Indigenous territories through a collaborative governance framework. Using a qualitative research design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis, and were analyzed using an interactive model of data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that TKDD functions as a cross-sectoral collaborative arena facilitating early detection, collective analysis of potential threats, and the formulation of preventive policy recommendations. Bakesbangpol plays a critical facilitative leadership role in coordinating actors and sustaining inter-sectoral communication. However, the effectiveness of TKDD is constrained by limited human resource capacity, fragmented data systems, relational dynamics among stakeholders, and budgetary limitations. The study demonstrates that collaborative governance in early warning mechanisms depends not only on formal institutional design but also on leadership quality, institutional capacity, and inclusive stakeholder engagement. This research contributes to the empirical understanding of collaborative governance in managing latent natural resource conflicts at the local level and highlights the importance of strengthening institutional capacity to achieve inclusive and sustainable conflict governance in Indigenous contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to map the effective communication needs of auditors as a basis for developing a communication model at the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology. The research approach uses a mixed methods approach with a quantitative and qualitative descriptive design. A total of 20 auditors participated in filling out the questionnaire, and 5 auditors were interviewed to reinforce the quantitative findings. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns of auditors' communication needs and barriers. The results showed that the level of auditors' need for effective communication was very high (mean 4.37). The highest needs were in the aspects of professional communication skills and the ability to convey findings clearly and persuasively. Communication barriers that arose during the audit included ambiguity between message delivery and reception, defensive attitudes from auditees, and the lack of ideal organizational communication guidelines for auditors. Based on auditor preferences, it was also shown that auditors want digital learning media in the form of e-books and e-learning. This is because both e-books and e-learning are considered more flexible and easily accessible by auditors anytime and anywhere. Based on these findings, this study concludes that there is a need to develop a communication model.
