Abstract

This research aims to examine the taxonomy of gending wayang kulit gaya Malangan in the performances of the puppeteer Ki Niko Anom Carito. This study also employs a qualitative approach with a focus on art taxonomy, identifying and classifying the gending used in the performances, as well as understanding the symbolic meanings of the gending and their functions in creating the atmosphere of wayang kulit gaya Malangan performances. The results indicate that puppeteer Ki Niko Anom Carito preserves traditional gending such as Eling-Eling Malangan, Gandakusuma, and Samirah, each of which holds its own philosophical and spiritual values. Additionally, the wayang kulit gaya Malangan performances by Ki Niko Anom Carito rely on the structure of pathet and ayak-ayak as characteristic musical features of the East Javanese wayang kulit, with the addition of pathet sepuluh introducing various innovations that make wayang kulit gaya Malangan distinct from other East Javanese styles. This research demonstrates how wayang kulit gaya Malangan performances serve not only as entertainment but also as a means of preserving local culture and showcasing the identity of the Malang community.

Abstract

The digital era and globalization have created complex challenges for Islamic education systems that demand a fundamental reorientation in educational leadership paradigms. Bass and Avolio's transformational leadership theory provides a relevant conceptual framework for understanding leadership evolution in the face of these systemic changes. Leadership transformation in Islamic education management is a complex phenomenon that is rapidly developing in the digital era. This research aims to explore the dynamics of educational leadership change through a systematic literature review method by analyzing current research publications. The study employs a qualitative approach by examining 12 research articles focusing on leadership transformation in various Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia. The research findings reveal four main dimensions of leadership transformation: (1) digitalization of educational administration, (2) shift in leadership style from conventional to transformational, (3) development of educator competencies, and (4) integration of technology in the learning process. The findings highlight that contemporary Islamic education leaders face significant challenges in adapting digital technology, developing human resources, and creating innovative learning environments while maintaining authentic Islamic values. The transformation demonstrates positive impacts on improving learning quality and organizational effectiveness, although cultural resistance, digital literacy gaps, and limited financial resources remain significant obstacles. This research provides theoretical contributions in understanding contemporary educational leadership dynamics and offers practical implications for Islamic education management in the digital era. The research recommends the development of a more systematic adaptive-integrative leadership model, the establishment of technology-based continuous leadership training programs, and increased investment in digital infrastructure in Islamic educational institutions. Future research should conduct longitudinal studies with mixed-methods approaches, geographical expansion to other Muslim countries, and development of valid measurement instruments for leadership transformation effectiveness to achieve a more comprehensive understanding of Islamic educational leadership dynamics in the digital era

Abstract

This study examines the media consumption habits of residents in Medan City, Indonesia, in response to the widespread adoption of smartphones and internet access. The research applies a quantitative descriptive approach using a survey of 400 respondents across generational categories (Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, Gen Z, Alpha). Results reveal a dominant reliance on smartphones for accessing media content, with a declining trend in traditional television and radio use. Social media, particularly YouTube, WhatsApp, and Instagram, have become a primary source of information and entertainment, especially among young generations. The study employs uses and gratifications theory and media dependency to analyze generational differences in digital behavior. Findings indicate a significant generational shift toward mobile-centric and socially interactive media patterns, contributing to the understanding of digital audience behavior in an emerging urban context.

Abstract

The phenomenon of increasing academic pressure in schools has normalized toxic productivity as the ideal identity of students. A culture of meritocracy and excessive competition forces students to constantly pursue productivity without considering mental well-being. This study aims to analyze sociologically how school culture shapes and legitimizes performative pressures that negatively impact students' emotional health. The method used is a systematic literature review with a qualitative approach based on the perspective of educational sociology and critical sociology. Data sources were obtained from relevant journal articles, academic books, research reports, and conference proceedings, especially publications of th years, through searches on Google Scholar, Scopus, Web of Science, and DOAJ. The analysis process is carried out thematically and narratively to identify conceptual patterns, using the theoretical framework of Pierre Bourdieu and Michel Foucault. The results show that the ranking system, high expectations, and emphasis on academic achievement create a competitive atmosphere that triggers chronic stress, anxiety, and identity crises among students. The role of teachers and schools as agents of normalization reinforces this cycle, often unconsciously. In conclusion, a more balanced transformation of the educational paradigm is needed by emphasizing mindful learning, psychosocial support, and policies that prioritize students' mental health holistically. e last ten

Abstract

Exchange rate volatility significantly impacts developing countries' macroeconomic stability in the global economy. This study investigates the effects of exchange rate fluctuations on key macroeconomic indicators, focusing on Indonesia. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with secondary data from institutional sources and an OLS regression analysis, the research examines the challenges faced by developing nations. Findings reveal that exchange rate volatility substantially influences inflation, economic growth, foreign exchange reserves, and the balance of payments. The Indonesian case study (2013, 2018, and 2022–2023) demonstrates that external factors, particularly global monetary policy changes and geopolitical tensions, primarily drive exchange rate pressures. Short-term policy responses, including adjustments to the BI-7 Day Reverse Repo Rate and foreign exchange market interventions, have proven effective for immediate stability. However, long-term macroeconomic resilience necessitates comprehensive strategies such as economic diversification, institutional strengthening, and sustained policy coordination to mitigate the impacts of exchange rate volatility in developing countries.

Abstract

The main objective of this research is to examine how social media marketing, the ambiance of the store, and electronic word of mouth impact customer loyalty at Nasha Beauty in Kediri City, with customer satisfaction playing a role as a mediator. A quantitative approach was employed, involving a survey of 100 customers who are active on social media. The research tool used was a closed questionnaire with a Likert scale, and the data was analysed using Partial Least Square (PLS) method. The findings indicated that both social media marketing and the store environment have a positive and substantial influence on customer satisfaction and loyalty. However, electronic word of mouth only had a noticeable impact on customer satisfaction and not directly on loyalty, unless through the pathway of customer satisfaction. This outcome highlights the significance of customer satisfaction as a connecting factor in developing customer loyalty. The majority of respondents were women over 20 years old, so the results of the study better represent this group. This study suggests that business actors improve the quality of interactions on social media, create a comfortable store atmosphere, and manage e-WOM optimally. Further research is expected to expand the scope of the sample and add other variables such as price and product quality for more comprehensive results.

Abstract

Technological advances require the world of education to innovate in creating interesting and interactive learning. One of the media that can be used to increase student learning motivation is Wordwall, a digital platform based on educational games. This study aims to determine the effect of using Wordwall media on the learning motivation of class I C students of SD IP YLPI Pekanbaru. The method used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design of the Nonequivalent Control Group Design type. The research sample consisted of two classes: class IC as the experimental group (29 students) and class IB as the control group (29 students), which were selected through purposive sampling techniques. The research instrument was a Likert scale questionnaire consisting of 20 statement items and pretest and posttest tests to measure student learning motivation. The results of the independent sample t-test showed that there was a significant difference between the average student learning motivation before and after treatment. The average posttest score of the experimental class was 85.41, while the control class only reached 72.76. The results of the analysis showed a significance value of Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 <0.05, which means Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. Thus, the use of Wordwall media has a significant influence in increasing students' learning motivation.

Abstract

Public complaints represent a form of public participation in overseeing government ‎administration, and they are mandated to be addressed by government institutions. The ‎Ministry of State Secretariat is one such institution that handles public complaints ‎directed to the President, who is the highest authority in government administration in ‎Indonesia. The implementation of the policy for handling public complaints to the ‎President within the Ministry of State Secretariat presents an interesting locus for ‎research, as it has distinct characteristics compared to other government institutions in ‎managing public complaints. This study uses Grindle's (2017) policy implementation ‎model as the analytical framework, with a post-positivist research approach. The ‎findings indicate that the implementation of public complaint handling to the President ‎by the Ministry of State Secretariat has not been optimal. Although target ‎achievements have been met, they remain inconsistent, and budget allocations are ‎insufficient to support program implementation. In terms of Content of Policy, three ‎aspects are suboptimal: the interests affected, extent of change envision, and the ‎resources used. Regarding Context of Policy, two underperforming aspects are the ‎power, interests, and strategies of the involved actors, as well as implementer ‎compliance. These shortcomings have resulted in a low rate of follow-up responses ‎from relevant institutions to public complaints forwarded by the Ministry of State ‎Secretariat to the President. Additionally, there are still public complaints addressed ‎to the President that are being handled beyond the stipulated time frame.‎
